Dear Harry

That bus sounds positively dangerous, but I suppose that there's spells that make it safer than your description of it. Though it makes no sense that nobody notices it passing through. Lamp posts can't move like that, it must be an illusion. Perhaps it just looks like they're moving out of the way because it's a visual side effect of the expansion charms on the bus, and it is so much smaller than it appears that it easily fits through the lines of traffic, or between the traffic and the parked cars.

I don't think that I'd be willing to ride on it no matter how much more convenient it is. Though if it would take me to London or Ireland to spend time with you, I'd probably put up with it, but even if it did come this far, I don't think you could take it to America without being in a very good disguise otherwise it would give whoever's looking for you in the magical world a way to find where you've gone. You'll be better traveling the nonmagical way and stowing away on a cruise ship without a ticket should be totally untraceable by either world unless you attract attention to yourself and get caught. Once you get here, you'll be one of over 100 Harry Potter's living in America, sure not many of them will be your age but it will make it harder to be found.

I'm sure that there are ways to get a social security number illegally but I have no idea how to find someone who could do that. Not to mention that getting involved with a criminal who you'd have to tell you were a kid on your own is not a good idea, unless of course you learned how to make him forget you after he'd done it. I think that the best way would be to apply for citizenship, and to use a false name if you're picked up by CPS and just pretend that you've run away and don't know your social security number, most kids your age probably don't, and most kids wouldn't think about packing ID papers when they run away. Explaining that you can't tell them your address and phone number, and why nobody has reported you missing, would be far more difficult.

Mom's friends are spending more time with Mom until Uncle Daniel's able to drive to start helping again, his friend has arrived to look after him so Aunt Ethel is free to go back to looking after Mom too. So, it shouldn't upset her schedule very much.

The weekend at Daniel's went okay, better than I thought it would. Daniel has an extensive collection of interesting books, and he let me read whatever I wanted which was nice. Mom was trying really hard to remain in the present and calm to look after him, though she drifted off a couple of times preparing for a new lecture series. It felt like everything was fine for now but I was constantly expecting trouble. I remember her doing it as a kid when I was injured too though it doesn't always work. It did last through the weekend though and she got into the car with Aunt Ethel calmly enough on Sunday night but then threw a fit when we stopped at the train station for Aunt Ethel to drop me off. There was men in suits going in to catch the train and she was sure they were from the government and there to take us away. I had to run to catch the train so I don't know how Aunt Ethel managed to get her home without sedating her or tying her up and throwing her in the trunk so she couldn't grab the wheel while the car was moving. I joke about the throwing her in the trunk, Aunt Ethel wouldn't do that even if it wasn't too public to get away with it. Perhaps she allowed her out to walk for a while to calm down, or convinced her to take her emergency medication.

You're definitely right about the wind forces, even flags get torn apart by the wind and the big high ones on capital buildings need replacing to be repaired every month. I think that again it's something that the authors didn't originally think about but it's said that Batman puts out a bio-electric aura just far enough around his skin to protect his suit, which is the reason it needs to be so tight, that doesn't explain the cloak though.

Your friend always

Spencer
