The Marauders deserved, at least in AU, where their lives didn't turn out to be shit.
Because I'm doing in AU, I decided to play with the times and the deaths of a few characters. We will discuss abuse, negligence, and bashing against some characters. I will use some things from the books and movies, plus make up my own. All characters belong to J.K Rowling. I'm only doing this for fun. Hope you enjoy it.

Albus Dumbledore was walking up the stairs, lost in his mind. He had a lot to think about, his meeting with Madam Minister had come to no end. Bagnold hadn't listened to a word anyone had said, except Crouch's, and that hadn't been good. The fact that Edgar Bones and his family had suffered an attempt on their lives last week, had only made her and Crouch more determined to hunt and ask questions later.
He walked right into his office with a wand in hand—"Good Evening"—He said calmly to the strange man sitting on his desk, petting Fawkes.
"Hello, Albus"—
"Forgive my rudeness, but who are you"
The stranger smiled. Albus realized he had a slight resemblance to Fleamont Potter, interesting. He thought.
–"I'm going to pull my wand, please don't react"—the man said, Albus nodded but the hold on his wand tightens.
"I Albus. S. Potter"—Dumbledore's eyes widened in surprise. –"By magic and Blood, I swear that everything I'm about to say is the truth." –A.P gauged Dumbledore's reaction and continued—"I'm here to help you Dumbledore, you see I'm from the future"—He cast a Lumos to prove he was telling the truth.
Dumbledore collapsed on the chair in front of his desk.—"We lose."—he stated
"Something like that. This time dimension is different from the original, but the story that starts ten years from tomorrow happens the same, minus small details."
"Ten years from tomorrow?"
"Yes, you win this war, but there's a second one that costs the lives of thousands more. It's not always that I'm allowed to come back so far into the past…"
"Who are you, your name is…"
"My name is Albus. S—I don't like my middle name, so I don't say it much—Potter. I'm the second son of Harry James Potter, son of Lily and James Potter"
"So, Voldemort chose his equal."—Dumbledore said to himself.
A.P. moved his head up and down.—"He did, my father's first title is the boy who lived. He hates it."
"They die, the Potters die?"—They were so Young, Albus thought; Fleamont and Dorea will be devastated.
"Aha"—A.P. said looking up at the clock.—"If you decide not to accept my help, the Potters will be dead, today before dinner"—He finished as the midnight bells rang in the office.
Shaking his head, Dumbledore thought about the implications of what missing with time could do. –"I accept, tell me what I have to do."
Sirius Blacks Flat, 31 October 1981 2:00 am
Sirius was in the kitchen getting a glass of water, he hadn't been able to sleep since Marlene went into hiding three months ago, and he changed flats. The sound of the wind made him look up at the ceiling, and a flash of fire appeared in front of him, scaring the living hell out of him.
"Sirius, Good Morning"
"Merlin, Headmaster"—Sirius said, water dripping from his chest.—
"Why are you not asking me the security question Sirius"—Dumbledore chastised
"Because of that"—He said, pointing at Fawkes, who was hovering over them.
"Be as it may, last time we spoke you had cake all over your face after young Harry smashed it."
"True, what are you really doing here, Albus?"
Dumbledore's slight amusement vanished. –"We are in trouble. I found the spy; you need to get the Potters out of their home."
"How could they be in danger, we…"
"Changed Secret keeper, it was clever if it weren't because you trusted the wrong person"
Sirius laughed incredulously and shook his head—"No, Peter wouldn't… No"—He finished in a whisper of disbelief.
"I'm sorry my boy, but there is no time, Pay Attention"
Godric Hollow, October 31, 1981 3:30 am
James Potter heard a door open downstairs; he grabbed his wand and bounced out of bed. Lily woke with him. –"Lily take Harry and go!"
Lily grabbed Harry from the bed, ever since they went into hiding Harry rarely left their side. They both got out to the Hall, wand in hand-"I love you"—He heard Lily whisper before disappearing into Harry's nursery where they had an emergency port key. He walked down the stairs only to see a dog stop mid-step. –"Padfoot?"
Sirius transformed—"Third year I cried in your shoulder in moaning myrtle bathroom after my mother sent maggots for my birthday"
"Bloody Hell, Lily! Its Pad"
They heard the steps and Lily was on top of the stairs staring down at them.
"We need to leave"—Sirius said giving James and Lily two bags after he climbed the stairs towards Harry's room, What Dumbledore had told him had shaken him, and he knew James wouldn't take it lightly.— "We don't have time. We need to leave Now!
He walked into the nursery— "Harry Love wake up, Uncle Padfoot has to give you a potion"
"What the hell are you giving my child?"—Lily said snapping the bottle from his hand, She sniffed It.— "A sleeping potion? Siri, what is going on?"
"Dumbledore found the spy he… it…Merlin, I can't even say it…It's Peter"
"NO!"—James's voice made all three jumps. Harry started whimpering.
"Look, Dumbledore showed up at my Flat in flames, he said…he knew we changed keepers. I don't want to believe it either Jamie but…"
"Dumbledore is wrong. He's our brother he was here yesterday…"
"GET IT TOGETHER! You have been compromised Jamie."—Sirius yelled making Harry cry in fear. He knew he needed to get James out of his shock.
Lily cried silently—"Why?"—She whimpered
"I don't know. It's big, and there's more information, but he said we all needed to be together"
James hadn't moved, he was pale and Lily cried, shaking her head. Sirius was eager to join in but knew that they didn't have much time— "The bags I gave you, they have extendable charms get everything of value, clothes, photos, Harry's toys, your wedding dress, family heirlooms"—James and Lily looked at him strangely.
"He's coming, and this house won't survive his anger when he doesn't find you"
That snapped James out of his shock. Lily ran out of the room.
"The bloody bastard sold us out"—James spat while putting everything of Value that belong to Harry in the bag.
Lily came back after a few minutes—"Everything important is packed. James?"
"Everything, even the books"
"Lily give Harry the potion and wrap him in this"—Sirius said giving her the invisibility cloak.—"No one can see him leaving the house."
"Why are you so calm?"—James said the anger still in his voice.
"Believe me I'm not, I want to hunt him down and kill him."
"No!"—Lily cried out grabbing James as if he would agree.
"But Dumbledore told me that if I did, it would be Harry who paid the consequences"
—James took a deep breath, he stared at his wife and son—"Let's go we need to get them to safety"
"Jamie, please don't…"
"Not now Lily"
They walked down to the back door.—"The small wooden area will give us coverage for a while. Harry will be harnessed to my back I will take him as Padfoot. Lily climbs into Prongs once we are outside"
"Why the secrecy?"
James Aurors mind taking charge— "The rat…He's small Lily, he could be anywhere we won't see him, but he was never fast enough to follow us in his form. We always had to carry him."
"Exactly, I did a Homenum Revelio so he isn't here, but he might be out there. Once we reach the limit of the forest, apparate"—He leaned to whisper it to both of them—"The haunted house"
"Side along Lily"—James warned her.
Lily strapped Harry to Padfoot´s back, she opened the door and Padfoot ran as fast as he could out of the house. He relaxed a little when he felt Prongs trotting next to him. The forest wasn't that big, only half a mile, he quickly transformed and apparate away. Lily and James appeared next to him on the floor of the shrieking shack with a thud. Lily rushed to check on Harry. –"He's fine, didn't feel a thing" –She said, passing him to his father.
"Can you tell us more now?"—James asked, hugging Harry to his chest.
"Dumbledore didn't say much. Go to your house get you out and see him on the seventh floor across the tapestry of Barnabas. He's moving the Order around"—Sirius stated in a grave voice, he hadn't been able to stop thinking about Marlene.
"It's better if we go. The house is eerie at night"
That made James and Sirius laugh—"Try spending it with a werewolf"—their laugh died down immediately.
—"Merlin we thought…"—said James—"How are we going to look him in the eyes when we thought he was the spy?"
"He's a noble git, he will forgive us"—Sirius said, swallowing. In all, he never really thought Moony to be the spy, he just knew the idiot was hiding something, and it made him angry, Remus didn't trust them enough to tell them what it was. He's in danger, that's why he hasn't said anything—Sirius thought, and that somehow was worse.
"Lily love, you and Harry under the cloak. Sirius and I will delusion ourselves"
A few minutes later, the four of them had made their way out of the Willow, both marauders wishing they had the map. Fortunately, they made it without any inconvenience.
Dumbledore was already waiting for them in front of a wall.
Lily took off the cloak. — "Good morning, Headmaster"— she said feeling gloomy.
"Lily, it's been a few years, you can call me Albus, and it's good to see the four of you. I was getting a little worried."
"No inconvenience professor. I didn't see anyone, but we took the measures you told me to".— Sirius said disillusioning himself.
"Albus..."-James started—. "No offence, but what the hell is going on?"
"Not here."— Dumbledore said, signalling to the right with his head.
"That's a wall."— James stated nonplussed
"My apologies, please reveal the door to Lily James, Harry Potter, and Sirius Black."— Suddenly a door appeared.
"Wicked." Both marauders said.
"Please follow me"— said Dumbledore.
The four of them walked into what looked like a small great hall, though it had small couches on the right corner, a huge fireplace right where the professor's table should be, with a kitchen and dining table to the left side of the room, a circular stone stair going to a second floor where the walls, as the walls in the first floor had multiple doors.
"Wow. When we found this room, we thought it was a small common room, and then it disappeared."–Sirius said, looking around. –"It's huge."
"This is the room of requirements. Or, as the elves know it, the come-and-go room, it's a room provided by Hogwarts to give you anything you can possibly need. As long as it's in the castle, or as long as the room can produce it, it can summon anything, except food. But that's being arranged."
"Why are we here, Professor? Sirius said you are moving the Order around, and there's."—James paused to count the doors. –"Fourteen doors and that one"— James pointed at the first door on the second floor.—"Says Lily and James."
"Ah, James, you really have a good eye. This will be your home, temporarily and yes, I am moving the Order, with the… spy."—Dumbledore said, smiling sadly at both boys.—"None of our locations are safe. We are all in danger. Plus, there's a little bit more information that I can't reveal until everyone is here."—
"Do you always have to speak in halves?"— James stated. He was really getting tired of this. They had woken him up in the middle of the night and scared his wife. Drugged his son, he wanted answers.
"James, my boy, I know you're angry. But trust me, not until everyone gets here. And like you said, yes, that room upstairs has a small bed for you and your wife with your son. I also have rooms for Sirius and Remus who is on his way."
"Does he…"
"No, I did not inform him. The room right in front"— Dumbledore said, pointing back to him. –"Belongs to the Weasley's. Arthur and Molly Weasley are coming as well. We will also have the Longbottoms and your parents of course"—
"Merlin, how could we forget…We have to go get them"—Lily said panicking
"Lily that is already being taken care of, do not be concerned."
James huffed, the only reason he wasn't concerned was that he knew his father could hold his ground and the family elves would get them out.
"Those rooms over there"— Dumbledore continued.—"are for the Hogwarts professors, and Order members, and the room next to the sitting area is a room adapted to entertain the children"
The three young adults blinked at him
"That's the longest speech I've ever heard him say all night, and I'm even more confused," Sirius whispered to Lily, who elbowed him in the ribs.
"Why?"—James pressed again
Dumbledore sighed, he was quite proud of the young man James was turning into, a concerned father, who reminded him a lot of Monty. –"Because we are here to discuss the future of the next generation"—He signalled to Baby Harry, sleeping still in his mother's arms.
The three adults gap at him.
–"I know it's confusing. I can only ask you to please calm down and perhaps rest a little."
The three of them nodded but knew they wouldn't be able to rest. Lily was able to convince both men to go lay down for a while; something told her they weren't going to get enough sleep in the following days. They walked into the room with their names, and it looked exactly like their dorm, only it had a crib for Harry.
….
Sirius once again was the first one to wake up. It was already 11 AM. He walked out of his room when he saw the Sr. Potters at the dining table whispering, he ran to Lily and James' room, not bothering to knock.
-"Mum and Dad are here."— He shook them, before running out of the room.
The Potters quickly got up, they checked on Harry and Lily said he would still be out for another hour; she put up the charm to hear when he woke up.
Sirius was already hugging his parents and sitting down with a cup of tea when James and Lily came running down the stairs.
"Oh, thank Merlin you're alright"—Dorea said crying.
James saw his father's face, and his mother had been ice-cold when he touched her. "What happened?"
"The Manor was attacked."— Monty said, fuming.
"What!"— James and Sirius said, slamming their fists on the table. Lily had stopped mid-hug to Dorea.
"About two hours ago. Dumbledore informed me around five that you were safe, to come to Hogwarts immediately, but I knew they would go for the Manor, I sent everything to Gringotts, all the family magic books… I couldn't leave them for Voldemort or anyone to find, by the time I finished, Mad-eye showed up, he said the Longbottom manor was being watched, and fifteen minutes later our wards started shaking."
"Albus said they are looking for you"—Dorea said, hugging Lily
"Mad-Eye and Hestia were able to get us out before they passed the wards."
"Was Voldemort there?"—Sirius said.
"I don't think so. I think he just sent his death eaters, he was testing us. No one knows where you are, and Potter Manor wasn't under Fidilius"-
All five of them sat there for a while in silence.
Lily was the one that broke it.—"Do you think he'll destroy the Manor?"—she loved Potter Manor, it was her home. It was where Harry had been born. It was where she and James were supposed to grow old. Would it still be there at the end of the war? She thought.
"Potter Manor has existed for almost 500 years. I'm sure it will still be there when this ends.
"Everything we had, every family heirloom, is in the Potter vault. So even if he burns it down, we will be able to build it back up. As long as we are together, we can make it a home again." –Dorea said, still sniffing.
"What about Tilly and Suzy?"— James asked for his elves.
"They're currently in the kitchens. They were frightened, Tilly said he was going to stay back and protect the house, but we ordered them to come with us."
— Dorea stopped to stare at both of her sons.—"Albus told us about Peter"—
Both men tensed
"He was our friend…"
"he was our brother."— Sirius started saying.
"Clearly not, if we meant so little to him, He stopped by a few days ago. He was in the fucking kitchen eating our food, hugging Lily, He kissed Harry. I see he was just saying goodbye."—James said, tears rolling down his cheeks.
"I want to know why?"—Dorea said shaking, she had always welcomed the boys into her home, and she cared for them as if they were her own.
"It doesn't matter now, people like him, pay for what they do. Perhaps we might get to ask him why. But neither of you two is going to go out there and look for him. Do you understand?"
— Both men turn around to glare at Lily.
—"No. No, I will not let you. We stay together. Remus doesn't know yet, and the way Dumbledore spoke about our future. I didn't like that, so promise me that both of you won't do anything stupid and reckless."
Both men nodded.
She emphasized the words. –"No. Say it."—
"I promise I won't leave you or Harry"—James said, and he meant it. Revenge could wait.
"Thank you, Siri?"
Sirius glared at the table, pure hate on his face.—"Fine. Fine, I won't go hunting for the Rat… but no one can tell me that he doesn't deserve to fucking die, if by the end of this, he's still alive, I will make sure that he doesn't get to live long."
Dorea slammed her teacup—"Hush, Sirius. You know very well that I don't like it when you speak about murder so easily."
Sirius was about to retort when he heard the door. And he saw Marlene walk in.
"Marlene, baby."—He yelled, running towards her. He hadn't seen her since Harry's birthday; he hugged her as his life depended on it.
"Siri, baby, you're squeezing too hard."— She laughed.
He held her face in his hands and started kissing her all over. –"I've missed you dearly."
"I've missed you too, you fool."
Lily was standing right next to them, ready to hug her friend. –"Oh, Marlene, what are you doing here?"—She said, stepping back so that James and the Potters could hug her too.
"Child, you should have stayed away."— Monty reprimanded
"I couldn't, Dumbledore got Dad a message about the spy… I can't believe it."—She said, grabbing Sirius.
— "None of us, Love."
"And I really didn't have much of an option. Not only did I want to be here for… well, for all of you.—- She said, looking at her friends. –"I missed Siri Badly and apparently, I have to be here. Dumbledore sent a port key specifically for me."
"Yeah, he's talking about our future. I don't know what that means."
"Only Dumbledore understands himself."— Monty said, pulling them back to the table.
They had finished lunch when the door opened again and Remus arrived, looking pale and skinnier than ever.
"Remy!"— Marlene and Lily called out, running towards him. The wolf smiled, dropping his bag on the floor, hugging both women, bathing in their warmth. –"Hey, loves."
"Where the fuck have you been?"—Sirius barked, walking towards him.
"I…"— Remus started speaking but stopped when he looked at both of his brothers. He frowned. –"What happened?"
"Don't change the subject. Answer the question. Remus, where the hell have you been? Dad said you were doing a mission for Dumbledore, but we haven't seen you in three months."— James half-yelled.
"James, calm down."— His father said.
"Calm down! No, I'll never trust anyone again. Remus start fucking talking, where the hell have you been?"
"Remus just tell them."— Monty said, shaking his head. Remus was confused by the welcome he was receiving. –"Just tell them, they're not going to be happy. I'm not happy with you."
Remus looked at the floor.—"I was in Ireland. I was able to infiltrate in Greybacks pack."
All three women gasp.
Sirius and James just turn at each other and then looked at Remus again.
— "You fool."— James said, walking up to him, for a moment Remus thought he would hit him, but instead, he hugged him. –"Remus you bloody idiot. You hate that man. What if you had been recognized? You're so skinny why?"— James said, pulling Remus far from him, staring at him up and down, as if James was a father and he was his son.
"Someone had to. There's only one werewolf in the Order. Who else was going to be?"
"Why do you think so little of yourself?"— Sirius said, hugging him; he took a step back after he finished the hug. –"I was starting to believe you were the spy."— Sirius whispered, from where he was standing. –"I thought you were the spy because you were a werewolf because you had left us"- Sirius knew he had to tell Remus the truth, after the incident in fifth year they had agreed to always be honest with each other no matter the consequences.
"I know. I didn't have much contact with anyone. I would only see the Prewett every couple of weeks. And I saw Dumbledore at the beginning of the month. He told me Monty knew because both of you were getting suspicious of me. I'm not going to deny it, it fucking hurt, but it made the job easier."
Remus finished saying, ignoring the looks of shame in his friend's eyes. He turned around to the only other person who hadn't welcomed him yet.
"Dory"— He whispered, the witch in question was glaring at him.
"Dory? That's all you're going to say, Remus Lupin, I promised your mother I would watch over you, what do you mean you didn't have contact with anyone? How were you supposed to get out if you had been discovered? We don't need the werewolves; I will be having words with Dumbledore…"—Remus stopped her from yelling when he pulled her into a hug.
"I've missed you too."—He said
"You're too skinny, come sit down."—She said, dragging him to the couch.
Remus was going to say he was fine until he saw Harry crawling around surrounded by his toys. He almost ran toward the boy, he kneeled in front of him. –"Hi cub, do you remember me? I'm Uncle Moony."— He said to the cute baby. He was worried these past months would make him forget him, but when he extended his little arms and said –"Moo."— Remus couldn't stop the guilt, disgust, and anger he had been carrying to come out with full force. He grabbed Harry in his arms and cried. He didn't know how long he cried. He didn't even feel his family sitting around him.
"Shhh. Sweet boy, you're OK."— Dorea whispered.
"Why are we here?"— He said, cleaning his tears and trying to get himself together. He hated when his family saw him like this, it made him feel weak. –"Where, exactly, are we?"— He said, looking around.
"Remember we thought it was another common room, it's the Room of requirement, Hogwarts provided it for us, it's big, and your room is on the second floor. So are Mum and Dad. We are here because…"—James paused, not wanting to say it out loud
"Because we found the traitor."— Lily stated darkly.
"Who is it?"—Remus said alertly.
"Remember, before you left, we were going to go under the Fidilius?"
"Yes, with Marlene gone and I on the mission, Sirius would become the secret keeper"
Marlene turned around to look at Sirius who kept his stare on Remus.
"That's precisely what we did."— James said.—"A week ago, Sirius came up with a plan."
Marlene narrowed her eyes at Sirius. He couldn't hold her stare and looked at his feet.
–"What did you do?
"Well, I was already being followed…"
"And why didn't you go into hiding?"— Marlene almost yelled. –"I'm in hiding with my family, thinking that you're safe…"
"You're not going to like the next part of the plan." – Sirius continued where James left off.— "I was being followed, so I sold my flat and moved around, I told James that it would be best if we also changed secret keepers, everybody knew I was close with the Potters, so I was an obvious option. No one had seen Remus in many weeks. So we decided to change with Peter and I would be a decoy. If they captured me, it would allow them enough time to make Plan B, hide Peter, and change locations."
He didn't have an opportunity to react; Marlene smashed both hands on his chest, tumbling him down. –"You damn idiot. I think you're safe. I'm thinking that either you're with James or with Aunt Dorea and Monty. "The decoy" if you "were captured." What the hell? Sirius, I told you to go into hiding with me. You could have been their secret keeper and gone into hiding yourself."
"You can be angry at me all you want, Mar, but we all agreed that we would keep Harry safe. He wants Harry, I couldn't care less whether he wanted James or Lily. Everything I've done has been to keep Harry alive." –He said, while Monty helped him up.
Marlene wanted to be angry but sighed, she couldn't be angry, not for that. She had considered taking Harry with her when she went away with her family, but Lily and James had said no.
–"We will discuss your unilateral decisions later."—She stated to a reluctant Sirius.
"Is Peter alright? Was he captured?"—Remus looked concerned.
"Peter is the spy."— Monty finished for them.
Remus blinked at them.—"What?"
Marlene quickly looked at the three friends and said. — "Sirius promise me you won't do anything stupid"
"I already made that promise to Lily."
"Make it to me."
"I won't go after him. But I can't promise you that I won't kill him if I have the chance."
"Not if I get to him first"—Remus said, pulling Harry closer to him. They all saw Remus's eyes change to bright amber. Lily had the urge to grab Harry but knew better than to get in the middle of a werewolf and his cub.
"Moo,"— Harry said just in time.
That made Remus calm down. –"I can't. I don't…I don't know what to say."
"There's nothing to say, he's after all a Rat, and he will pay for this."
After Dorea forced Remus to eat a little, she sent him to sleep. Marlene, Sirius, Lily, and James were fixing the Playground for the kids after they discovered how the room worked. So it was Monty and Dorea who received the Weasley's.
"Arthur, how are you" –Monty saluted the Weasley patriarch.
"Mr. Potter, nice to see you"
"Arthur please it's Monty, this is my wife Dorea"
"Very well Monty then, this is Molly"—Arthur signalled to his wife, who had a sleeping Ginny in her arms.
Both wives' greeted each other with a smile. Molly was nervous, she wasn't used to meeting high-ranking members of the Ministry, even with her brothers in the Order, and it was normally Diggle or Hestia who took refuge in the Burrow.
"Prewett right?"— Dorea asked
"Yes ma'am."
"No ma am nonsense it's Dorea if I can call you Molly of course"
Absolutely"—Molly said rearranging Ginny
-"Oh, who are these?" –Dorea smiled down at the kids.
Arthur smiled at his children. But before he could speak James, Harry, Lily, Marlene, and Sirius walked into the room slamming the door, Remus walked out of his room half asleep tripping and cursing his way down.
"ah, my children"— Dorea said, shaking her head. –"Children, please behave, we have actual children here. Arthur, Molly this is my son James, his wife/our daughter Lily and our sweet grandbaby Harry, along with my other son Sirius Black don't mind the last name, and my god-daughter Marlene McKinnon with my other son Remus Lupin."
"Hello, hi, and more redheads!"—Were the comments from the loud group.
Molly blushed when Sirius told her Fabian hadn't been joking when he talked about his attractive sister. Marlene smacked him on the arm while Arthur laughed.
– "These are our children Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, and Ron, and that little one is Ginny"
Lily and Marlene hovered over Ginny while the rest of the boys greeted each other.
"Wow, your scars are awesome"—Charlie said while0 Remus tried not to look uncomfortable.
–"Thank you"
Lily showed the older kids the playground and left them to their own entertainment. After Molly promised a good reprimand if they misbehaved. Harry, Ron, and Ginny stayed with the adults around the couch.
"Did Albus explain anything to you?"—James asked Arthur
"Not much only that he had found the spy. It doesn't directly affect us since we are not entirely in the Order, but he said there was information that concerned our children"
The Potters shared a look. There couldn't be a prophecy about all of their children, could there?
"What is it?"—Molly asked
James and his father shared a look, should they tell the Weasley's, James had been truthful when he said he wouldn't trust anyone any more, but Monty's look suggested he trusted the couple in front of him, so with a narrowed look, he said.
"Dumbledore made us go into hiding because Voldemort is seeking my son. I know that Alice and Frank went into hiding for the same reason."
Molly cried out—"what would he want with our children?"
"I don't think it's entirely Voldemort"—Lily stated.—"Dumbledore said something about our future. I believe it's our children's future"
They discussed the implication of it when the Longbottoms arrived.
They greeted each other, the marauders taking Frank to the side to explain everything about Peter. Augusta greeted the Weasley, and she introduced Neville to the rest of the boys. Alice cried when she saw her friends, she really missed them. By dinner time, the Potter elf appeared and gave Monty a Letter. Everyone's attention was on him.
"It's from Dumbledore."
Some events have happened and the rest of us will be joining you by midnight. Please tell your elves if you need anything, they have permission to move around Hogwarts.
They all looked gloomed; they couldn't imagine what types of events have happened.
-"Do you think he went to our house?"—Lily asked sadly
No one knew what to answer.
October 31, 11:30 pm
The children had been fed and all of them were already in bed. The adults were on the couch when McGonagall walked in looking green.
"Minerva… what happened."
Minerva shook her head and sat down. Marlene quickly handed her a cup of tea.
"Your House in Godric was attacked."
Lily started crying –"He really betrayed us. PETER, YOU FOOL!"— Lily yelled, slamming her hands on the table. Marlene and Alice ran to hold her.
The marauders just stared at each other and as if the three of them had thought the same thing, they leaped and ran to the door
Dorea, Lily, and Marlene yelled for them.
They stopped abruptly when the door threw them back.
"Boys! Enough" –Monty said with authority.
"You promised you. …"
"I don't care, Lily, he gave us up. What if Sirius hadn't got us out? I would've held him enough to let you get away but…"
"I…wouldn't have left you…I..."—Lily started talking, but she realized even if she didn't want to leave her husband, she had to because of Harry. –"Oh…"
"I alone can't hold him; he would've killed me, how much time would that have given you…"
"We almost died tonight"—she whispered.
Dorea was crying while Molly hugged her. –"My children…"
"It's alright Dorea they are right here."
"Oh Mum, it's alright…shhh" –James leaned over his wife to comfort his mum
Monty turned around to McGonagall, who looked pale. Sirius and Remus, we're being held down by Arthur and Marlene. Frank was pacing, looking angry. Augusta looked sad for the couple in front of her.
"How bad is it, Minerva?"
"It's bad. He himself went to the house"
"Merlin…"—Molly gasped
"I'm sorry. There's no house left. He burned it down. The Aurors and members of the Order arrived, but they couldn't do anything."
Lily cried quietly, James holding her.
"Did they see him?"
"Yes. Crouch, Mad-Eye, and Dumbledore arrived just in time to see him. I believe Albus and he shared spells but nothing major."
"Fuck..."
"Albus told Hestia that you're safe. She's responsible for telling the Minister, since rumours of you three being dead are circling around."
"How is that going to be managed"
"I don't know. I went to check on the house because Crouch wanted to know who the secret keeper was… Dawlish said it was obvious it had to be Sirius, and Crouch was demanding your head"
"That prejudice prick"—Marlene sneered.
"Albus, sent for me to corroborate your alibi. I also told Crouch I had performed the change of secret keeper to Peter myself, since Albus had been busy."
Sirius hugged her—"Thank you, Minnie"—
"You're quite welcome. Albus is arriving soon with Alastor and two more people, one of them I don't know, the other one is…Snape"
The marauder and the girls stared at Lily…- "What?"
"He's a spy for Albus"
"How are we sure he isn't spying for Voldemort?"
Monty asked— "Albus trusts him?"—, he had been friends with Albus for many years but never really understood him.
"Dumbledore is a fool if he trusts that death eater"—Frank said, holding his wife, who had turned pale. Alice couldn't stop thinking that if Voldemort hadn't found the Potters, maybe he will go after them.
"I can't speak on his behalf. He started working here in September and there have been some issues."
Marlene rolled his eyes— "Obviously, He's a git, he hated children when we were children. I can't imagine now."—
"He has a very peculiar way of teaching. I have given my advice, and he assures me he would take it into consideration."
"What does he know about what happened in Godric?"—Remus asked.
"I don't know"
….
Right at Midnight. The door opened, and three men walked in.
"Good night"
"It's nice to see you boys"—Mad-eye said to his three best newest protégés. He would never admit it, but without Black, Longbottom, and Potter he had faced a dead-end when it came to quick minds and wands in the field.
"Boss!"
Snape did a curt nod. Stopped to look at Lily and then quickly looked away.
—"Do we get answers"— her tone cold. The same she used when she went on missions.
Dumbledore made everyone sit down.
"First, Lily, James I'm sorry, but the cottage doesn't exist any more"
Lily sniffed and James just sat impassively.
"Second the ministry already knows you're alive and in deep hiding, the prophet will be issuing a statement, that I took the liberty to elaborate myself, that you're safe and alive."
"Third, we can't find Peter anywhere. We will keep looking for him, but for now, it's out of our hands"
"You won't find him. There are thousands like him"—Sirius said. He knew he would have to sit down and discuss it with his brothers, should they tell them about the rat or look for him themselves?
Frank and Snape frown at that comment.
"Severus please your information"
"He's angry. He was guaranteed his victory."
"Filth"—James spat, Snape made no comment, he didn't know whether it was for Voldemort or for him.
"We were able to feel his anger through the dark mark. We reunited with him after he left Godric. Your spell Headmaster did its job it cut him, I left and he was still losing blood"
"Good, I hope that filth dies"
"What's your job in all of this?"—Monty asked the boy in front of him.
Snape turned to look at Sr. Potter. He was never going to admit it, but he wouldn't dare cross Fleamont Potter, the man had a reputation for being a deadly duelist.—" He's given me the task of finding Peter or information from the Order. He allowed me 4 days to bring him news"
"Are you…"
"Albus has informed me that there's something more important to do"—Snape said nonchalantly, but it was clear in his tone that he didn't believe that.
"Is this information why we are here?"
"Yes, all of us, I only ask you to be open mind about this. What do you know about time travel through dimensions?"
The reactions he got from the entire room made him smile with amusement. The only one who hadn't reacted was Mad-eye.
Sirius looked at him like he had lost it. Dorea, Alice, and Molly were confused, the question had sounded so far fetch. Monty, Lily, and Remus were going through all the knowledge they had about time travel. Frank and James were the only ones who noticed their non-responsive boss. McGonagall glared at him, and Snape just stared impassively.
Frank was the one to speak.—"Time travel is unpredictable, are you saying you got information from the future?"
"He is"—the paranoid Auror said
The Aurors in the room turned surprised at their boss.
"Yesterday a strange man was in my office, he provided me with information about what was to happen in the next few years."
"And you believe him?"—Augusta said, fearing for his sanity
"He did a magical oath and presented his family magic to me"
"Which is?"
"A griffin"
Monty sat up straight—"A Potter"
"Yes. The only way I can say more is if you accept to hear him and read 7 books. "
"About what?"
"The books will tell the story of your son Harry and the rest of your families are in it, as everyone in this room becomes significant in the life of our young Harry"
Lily and James shared a look. Ever since the prophecy was made, they knew their son had a bigger role, they had been afraid of what kind of burden had been given to him and why?
"We agree," they both said, not even thinking
The Sr. potter, the marauders, and Marlene agreed after them. The Longbottom looked uncertain but agreed, Snape looked uncomfortable, but he had no other option.
"Very well, if you excuse me, I will go for our friend."
Dumbledore left the room and five minutes later he walked back in with a man covered in robes, Andromeda and Ted Tonks carrying his daughter, Hagrid, and Kingsley Shacklebolt.
"Our friend has invited a few more people"
"Hello. Oh Lily, James I'm so happy you're OK"— the giant said, hugging both of his friends
"Andy, what are you doing here?"—Sirius said, hugging her; he hadn't seen her in almost a year.
"This stranger showed up at our house, and also we have to go into hiding, Bella is looking for me"—She pursed her lips. Sirius growled and introduced her to the group. Andy and Dorea shared a warm hug. The room created a new room for her, and she went to put her sleeping child to bed. Kingsley introduced himself and sat down.
A.P. was wearing a black cape over him, his full face covered. –"Good Evening."
"You won't reveal yourself?"—Monty stated he had been curious about who it was, if he stayed covered, then it meant it could be Harry himself.
"Not yet, I have to explain first,"
"Then please do"—Augusta said stoically
"My name is Albus. S Potter, I am the second son of Harry James Potter"
Lily gasped, her baby lived, and he grew enough to have children.
"I'm from a different dimension…"
"Why are you here?"
"How is this possible?"
"What do our children have to do with any of this?"
"Calm down, I come from the Original Timeline; you are a copy of that world. I'm here for many reasons, and all of them are for my father. I will try to explain, but I don't know how confusing it could get."
"Try us."— Monty said excitedly
"The first time I missed with time, I almost caused a catastrophe. I played with a Time Turner, and when I came back to my time, I started getting visions from an entity called father time."
"Entity? Like a god?"—Lily asked in disbelief.
"Yes, though he always presented himself as an ordinary man. With my ability in potions and Time, I graduated Hogwarts as the best of my generation; the unspeakable recruited me and by 23 I was already experimenting with small time jumps, at 27 I did my first dimension jump I went to a world where Voldemort wins, almost died."
Everyone shuddered, while Monty nodded; he realized the time jumps involved a potion. –"Very well, but why are you allowed to change things?"
"I have to make changes for them"—he said pointing up—"it's a certain deal, I do some work for them, and I'm allowed to fix my father's multiple lives. He is a historical figure; his birth is connected to important historical moments in our world. But, it's very rare when I'm allowed to go back so far into the past"
"What's different?"—Remus asked, his mind going miles an hour.
"Someone made something different from the original timeline, which created multiple outcomes, that's when I'm allowed to walk in and change everything."
Dumbledore was itching to go to the library and look through the books about time, and Albus Potter was talking about crossing worlds.—"We are in error of the original world, then"
"Technically yes. This error gave us a small time-lapse to change things, if we don't then life fixes itself"
Snape couldn't deny that he was incredibly curious about the future.—"We can talk about"—Snape paused he didn't know how to refer to Lily's son –"We can talk about Potter's son later, what is the error?"
Albus Potter laughed, his namesake was as irritable and annoying as his portrait—"You can call my father by his name, Professor. And the error was caused by Monty"
Monty sat up straight he went through his life the past two years, he didn't remember anything different, just...—"My retirement?"
"Ah, grand papa, can I call you that?"
Monty, look at the unspeakable in front of him and nodded, things couldn't get weirder.
—"Thank you, well, Grand papa; you practically saved all of your lives."
That made everyone gasp.
"Let's go back, when Lily—Grandma can I call you grandma?"—A.P. said to Lily who looked confused and annoyed because they were getting nowhere.
–"Sure if that's what you want, you can also call him Grandad and these"—Lily said pointing at James, Marlene, and the rest of the Marauders –"Are your Aunt and Uncles, continue"
Her husband looked at her like she was crazy. He leaned over to whisper to her. –"We don't even know him, how do we know all of this is real"
"Just go with it, dear"— she whispered back.
Remus and Kingsley quickly got a parchment to write everything down.
"When Lily was six months pregnant, Monty retired from the unspeakable's, but before you left they asked you to look into one last experiment. You weren't comfortable with it, it required more time in your day and with daily attacks, you didn't want to leave the house unprotected. You showed your notes to Lily hoping it would speed everything up and Lily said…"
"That it was too dangerous and not worth the risk."—Lily nodded, remembering that conversation.
"Yes! In the original Timeline, you never showed anything to Lily and started working again, unfortunately, the experiment was dangerous, and you got infected with a pathogen of Dragon Pox, that infected you and Grand mamma, in a period of one month, both of you alongside your elves were dead"
They all looked at Monty and Dorea Potter. They looked sad but resigned—"It didn't happen here."—Dorea said to James, who looked close to crying.
"So in the Original timeline, my parents are dead by this point"—James stated, sniffing, his wife holding his hand tightly.
"Yes and them not dying in this timeline changed many things, I'm sorry that I'm being too crude, but I think it's for the best. James took your death incredibly hard, and then the attacks got worse. People started being targeted directly, and James and Lily rarely left Godric Hollow. Until one day when Harry got really sick and…"
"No potion helped, so I took him to St Mungo's. It was about two months before his first birthday."—Lily said—"I took Marlene and Monty with me"
A.P continues— "in my timeline, it happened the same, except for Monty, in this timeline Monty saw something that you girls didn't."
"They were being followed."
"Bingo."
"What?"—All the wizards said
"It's a muggle game"—Lily said
Albus spoke—"Let's focus on this timeline. You went with them to St. Mungo's you saw the Death eaters and gathered all five heads of the Order. Edgar Bones reinforced his home; Matthew McKinnon took his family into deep hiding. You told Lily and James to go into hiding..."
Snape nodded, different outcomes saved multiple lives—"Who else died in your timeline?"—He asked, earning a glare from a few for his rudeness.
"The Bones were attacked a lot sooner than last week. In my timeline, they get attacked the week after the St. Mungo's trip, only little Susan Bones and Amelia survived…"
"Merlin, the entire family"—Augusta gasped
Marlene shook her head. She realized where this was going. She grabbed onto Sirius and said. –"My family, we never went into hiding, did we?"
Sirius was watching his girlfriend with a calculating gaze. He saw her close her eyes and take a deep breath. His mind made the connection—"No!"— He stated forcefully.
The time traveller started speaking.
"I'm afraid the McKinnon family was not prepared…"
Marlene started shaking, she couldn't help the sob that escaped her throat.
"In the original timeline, Marlene McKinnon is already dead."
"No!"— Sirius said, getting up. –"You're wrong." –Sirius was going to keep fighting, but Marlene grabbed him by the elbow and told him to sit down.
— "Siri, stop. I'm here. This didn't happen to us"— she said, looking at the time traveller. — "Do you know how we died?"
Lily was crying, leaning on James.
Monty spoke—"Marlene, you don't need to know. Your family is alive here."
"I want to know"
"Yes, but Grand papa is right. I'm allowed to see back into the past. I've seen moments of all of your lives. The birth of your children, your first days of school, all the pranks in the Marauder lives, I'm not allowed to interact with them. As I said, when I started this introduction, it was very rare. So yes, I do know how you died, and the only thing I can tell you is that you all fought bravely."
Alice spoke cleaning her tears –"I'm sure that no one took it well, two powerful families and our friends gone, in a blink of an eye."—.
The rest of the people were quiet, they were coming to accept that what the stranger was saying was true.
"The person who took it the worst was Sirius"
"No shit" –Sirius spit out.—"What happens after that, my parents are dead, my girlfriend is dead, my brothers are gone. Do I die too?" –
Dorea turned to speak at him— "Sirius, calm down, love. No one is gone, we are all here. Lower your voice."
Sirius's sad face didn't change but nodded at his mother.
Albus debated himself, how much should he tell them before the first chapter?—"Actually, I would like it if you all read the first chapter, and then I will answer as many questions as I can. I'm not allowed to talk much because I would spoil, and the whole point of reading is you understand the difficulties."
Everyone turned around to look at each other. They didn't have many options, but they were scared to know what happened next.
"Very well, let's read"—Mad-eye said
