Albus paused— "Do you want to have dinner or…"
"No"—Alastor said— "It's early let's continue reading"—Leaving no room for arguments.
"Wait give me 10 to check on the kids"—James said before running to the playroom.
Everybody refreshed and used the loo, Mad Eye was exasperated, he wanted to finish the book as soon as possible, he wasn't used to being so inactive, Even though Kingsley told him it was doing him good, he felt like they were wasting away.
James came back with a thumbs up and sat down before the book started again.
CHAPTER SIX -Gilderoy Lockhart
"Why is this man so important he deserves a chapter?"
"Maybe he helps Harry."
"Really?"—Sirius gave Andromeda an incredulous look—"The git sounds like a walking disaster"
There was a slight stiffness in the way she said "Morning," which told Harry that she was still disapproving of the way they had arrived.
"Oh Hermione chill, you are not their mother."
"I wonder what kind of parents Hermione has?"—Frank said and all turned to look at the A.P. who shrugged.
"Nevi sounds so sweet"—Alice smiled— "It sounds like he still has the baby face."
Frank said— "Does he have a bad memory or is he just terrified"
"Terrified of what Franklin"—Augusta demanded.
But Frank kept his mouth shut.
"Errol!" said Ron, a red envelope in his beak.
"Oh, Molly no"—Arthur said alarmed.
"That's so embarrassing"—Marlene said.
"It's embarrassing if you care"—James said with a shrug.
"Oh, he is going to care, and at breakfast, everyone is there"—Ted said.
"Why did you send my nervous child a howler"—Frank asked his mother who rolled her eyes.
"—STEALING THE CAR, I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SURPRISED
The Marauders quickly put a silencing charm over Moony's ears since the screams could be heard loud a clear. Everyone in the room shrugged in discomfort, even Molly blushed a little.
I THOUGHT YOUR FATHER WOULD DIE OF SHAME, WE DIDN'T BRING YOU UP TO BEHAVE LIKE THIS, YOU AND HARRY COULD BOTH HAVE DIED —"
"Um, I'll appreciate it if you don't mention my child in your howler Please thank you"—James said but Lily shook his head.
"He was part of it…but I'm not a huge find of this method of reprimand"
YOUR FATHER'S FACING AN INQUIRY AT WORK, IT'S ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT.
Arthur flinch—"No Molls…Ron made a mistake but he shouldn't carry that burden"
Molly blushed, she didn't know why she had done that…she didn't like howlers always defended their brothers when her mother would send one…how much had she changed in the following years?
Remus pressed his lips—"I like Hermione but someone tells her she isn't their mother"
Gilderoy Lockhart, however, was immaculate in sweeping robes of turquoise, his golden hair shining under a perfectly positioned turquoise hat with gold trimming.
"Why is Harry noticing his clothes?"—Ted chuckled.
"Maybe he likes blond dudes"—Sirius said shrugging.
"Hope he has better taste than that"—Kingsley said mockingly
A.P. who was laughing at the blond comment shrugged
"Just been showing…. Professor Sprout …. idea that I'm better at Herbology…. several exotic plants on my travels…"
Minerva huffed—"I doubt he knows more than Pomona, how dare he disrespect her."
"I'm sure he believes nobody knows more than him"—Remus said annoyed
"You ok?"—Marlene asked him amused
"His voice is annoying"
"Harry! I've been wanting a word …. "Harry, Harry, Harry." …. "When I heard — well, of course, it was all my fault. Could have kicked myself…. "Gave you a taste for publicity, didn't I?" said Lockhart.
James stammered indignantly— "What is this fucking man talking about?"
"Is he dumb?"
"No, just Disgustingly narcist"—Lily said flinching.
"I see why he has a full chapter, so we laugh."
"Harry, Harry, Harry," said Lockhart, reaching out and grasping his shoulder.
Lily glared at the book—"Stop touching my child"
James agreed—"This man doesn't know personal space and I don't like it"
"Ew the way he says his name is so creepy"—Marlene said making Sirius tense.
"I don't trust him, he gives me the wrong vibe"
"He sounds like a little prick"
Even Snape was feeling uncomfortable.
…you can't start flying cars to try and get yourself noticed…when I was twelve, I was just as much of a nobody as you are now. ….it's not quite as good as winning Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile.
James's mouth was wide open. —"My child is considered the hero of the wizarding world, he dares…the nerve of this man. I would like to know about his accomplishments, how many people has he saved…"
"Why do people care about someone else's smile?"—Augusta asked
"Witch Weekly doesn't have this segment yet"—Marlene added and Sirius rolled his eyes—"Why do you keep reading that shit magazine"
"Why do you work for the bureaucracy"—she retorted and Sirius half glared at her.
"We'll be repotting Mandrakes today. "It is used to return people who have been transfigured or cursed to their original state."
"Foreshadowing"—Ted said
"I don't think so"
"I don't remember having Mandrakes when I went to school."-Andromeda said
"They are quite expensive"—Dumbledore said— "and like the brooms, many exotic plants or potion simples need to be donated."
"We had in our seventh year"—Lily told Andy—"But we only had 10, here it sounds like is enough for the whole class."
"Ok, Hermione is a little intense. I'm sure someone else knows the answer"—Alice complained
Augusta nodded—"Finally we are socializing with more students, I would like to know what is happening in the wizarding world"
"Justin Finch-Fletchley," he said brightly, shaking Harry by the hand. "Know who you are, of course, the famous Harry Potter… And you're Hermione Granger — always top in everything" (Hermione beamed as she had her hand shaken too) "— and Ron Weasley. Wasn't that your flying car?"
"They are popular!"—James beamed, Lily rolled her eyes at him and was about to reprimand him when he half glared—"You were popular to Evans…Perfect Ginger they called you"
Lily pursed her mouth a little indignant—"First it's Potter my dear husband and second what did I tell you about calling me that...it was Sirius who started that.
"Oh and it was with a very sarcastic tone"-corrected Sirius
"Ron is traumatized by that Howler"-Kingsley said making Molly blush.
"That Lockhart's something, "Awfully brave I'd have died of fear if I'd been cornered in a telephone booth by a werewolf, but he stayed cool and — zap — just fantastic.
A.P. had to contain his smile at Remus's twitching eye. The marauders look at each other.
"What? Did he just say?"—Moony asked—"Did he say he…"
Snape turned to Dumbledore—"What kind of people are you hiring? We both know …"
Dumbledore raised his hand.—"I'm sure Gilderoy is capable enough"
"You are kidding…his books are fiction"
"I have the horrible suspicion people don't believe that."—Frank said.
"Oh god, muggles are reading that rubbish"—Lily said
Everything Harry had learned last year seemed to have leaked out of his head during the summer.
"This is because he didn't have enough time to study"
"It happens to all Muggle-born"—Ted shrugged—"Not all of us live close to Diagon Alley or can get there by ourselves to stay close to magic."
"The magical world is more than just Diagon Alley"—Monty stated
Ted shrugged—"Yes but I didn't know that during school and if you don't live in a mixed village or have someone entirely in the magical world you don't know where else is magical in London."
Ron was having far worse problems. He had patched up his wand with some borrowed Spellotape, It kept crackling and sparking at odd moments.
Minerva looked alarmed—"That wand needs to be replaced immediately"
"I doubt he will owl home, he is afraid of getting another howler"—Alice reminded him
"He will hurt someone"—Arthur shook his head
and demanded Ron "Have you outlined all Lockhart's lessons in little hearts?"
Lily and Marlene giggled and Alice facepalmed herself— "Please no Hermione, you're more clever than that."
"She twelve, you liked Ethan Stewart back then"—Remus said mockingly remembering how she cried when they gifted her one of his posters—"And he sucked"
"Take that back"—Alice said
Harry became aware that he was being closely watched.
"His instinct keeps surprising me"—Monty said
I'm Colin Creevey," would it be all right if — can I have a picture "So I can prove I've met you," said Colin Creevey eagerly.
Sirius cough—"Stalker"
"Don't be mean"—Dorea chastised—"He is just a fan but he should keep his voice down"
"I do wonder where these fans were in his first year?"—Moody said
"I hope he told his father to keep those pictures under lock"—Minerva said
"Signed photos? You're giving out signed photos, Potter?"
Everyone groaned James turned to his wife—"Is it bad I want to punch a twelve a year old so bad"
Lily laughed—"Until Four years ago you were still terrorizing them"
Dorea scoffed and pinched James in the arm making him yelp.—"What, I did not…I would just tell them to get out of the way, I was head boy after all… So rude you are"
—Dorea glared at him.
"I'm with James, Harry should give him a small punch, I bet he cries"—Sirius said and Marlene smacked his knee.
sneering at Malfoy. He put on a shrill, piercing voice. "'If you put another toe out of line—"
Molly blushed but chastised—"How disrespectful I would expect better manners from him"
"Or at least discretion"—Andy whispered.
Gilderoy Lockhart Lockhart flung an arm around his shoulders and thundered jovially, "Shouldn't have asked! We meet again, Harry!"
Everyone jumped when Lily yelled—"STOP touching my child!"—She turned to Minerva—"You didn't tell this man the rules or something?"
said Lockhart "I covered up for you back there at this stage of your career isn't sensible — looks a tad bigheaded, Harry.
"What career? He is twelve years old"
"Harry is uncomfortable."
"I'm pretty sure Harry is used to being manhandled that he won't complain"
James massages his temple—"Harry needs a little bit of Potter arrogance."
A.P. hide his smile—"Dad grew into it but my brother James has a lot of that one"
"And you"—Monty said—"It's clear in your expressions."
said, Ron. "You'd better hope Creevey doesn't meet Ginny, or they'll be starting a Harry Potter fan club."
"Ronald! Don't talk like that about your sister"—Arthur reprimanded him
Lockhart cleared his throat and held it up to show his own, winking portrait on the front."Me," "Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Third Class, Honorary Member of the Dark Force Defense League, and five-time winner of Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award but I don't talk about that.
Remus laughed—"The Defense League is a joke, just a bunch of old men that think they know about the advantages and disadvantages of Dark magic but have never in their life done something relevant…"
Augusta looked at Remus in question—"You have strong opinions"
James scoffed in disgust—"The most discriminative articles about Dark creatures come from the league."—
"Also"—Sirius said—"Order of Merline for what, Grandfather Sirius bought his, so I doubt they even check their facts"
Harry looked down at his paper and read:
What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favourite colour?
What is Gilderoy Lockhart's secret ambition?
What, in your opinion, is Gilderoy Lockhart's greatest achievement to date?
When is Gilderoy Lockhart's birthday, and what would his ideal gift be?
Dumbledore sighed disappointed, he expected much.
Minerva didn't know if she should berate Dumbledore or accept that officially the DADA post was completely cursed. The rest of the people in the room were having mixed reactions.
Moody slammed his cane—"Do you have any idea how this is going to affect the Auror recruitments?"
Snape scowled at the book, he was certain he would be able to do a better job in the post.
"Tut, tut — hardly any of you remembered that my favourite colour is lilac.
"I'm disgusted"—Augusta said.
Dorea had a disbelief look—"This is horrifying, how is this man being taken seriously, how do you introduce your favourite colour in a book based on werewolves?"
Ron was now staring at Lockhart with an expression of disbelief on his face;
Remus made a mocking gasp—"You're not the only one Ron. I would like to read his books, I'm highly interested."
"You're not"—A.P. said—"The other you´s I've met, hate this man because of what he has written"
Sirius scrunched his face—" I bet Hermione isn't the only one listening like that, How many students do you think fancy him?"
"He is a Professor Sirius"—Minerva chastised
"Didn't stop me from flirting with Miss Monique"—he whispered getting an evil eye from his girlfriend.
"Freshly caught Cornish pixies."
Sirius teased— "Did he just try to sell Pixies as highly dangerous…just a bunch of annoying buggers."
"Their bite stings"—Andromeda reminded.
"Aren't those Doxies?"—Alice said.
Remus nodded— "Yes, Doxies have venom and Pixies just bite for defence, but they have a slight sting to it and can rip a piece of your skin apart. Also, creatures are in the third year they won't know how to defend themselves if he lets them lose"
And he opened the cage. Two of them seized Neville by the ears and lifted him into the air.
"WHAT!"—Alice shrieked—"Help him, you blond moron"
Remus shook his head in denial—"That idiot…one pixie was enough he just unleashed pandemonium. There was no need to have that Many."
half the class was sheltering under desks and Neville was swinging from the iron chandelier in the ceiling.
"What is he waiting for"—Minerva said alarmed—"For the classroom to be destroyed?"
"Peskipiksi Pesternomi!"
Remus stood up in disbelief, making Marlene jump—"Rems, sit down he is in the book, Where are you going?"
"To eat something or find something to chew on before I say something that would make Minnie put me in detention."
"I might agree with you"—Minerva mumbled.
Monty felt a sudden feeling of outrage—"DADA is one of the most important subjects we have, Students shouldn't be self-studying, they are already doing that with History of Magic. I hope you are taking note of the school's obvious disadvantages to modify them"—He said to the headmaster and deputy.
Lily cried in outrage alongside Molly, Lockhart just left their kids to fix his problems. -"He didn't tell them how to stop them"
"That wasn't even a real spell."
"He just wants to give us some hands-on experience," said Hermione,
All the women in the room groaned in annoyance.
"So he has everyone believing he is almighty"—Kingsley shook his head—"Be careful headmaster he might want your job."
CHAPTER SEVEN—Mudbloods and Murmurs
The room was quiet for a moment before the hushed whisper started.
Lily was indignant. —"Between Colin and Lockhart Harry wants to have a moment of peace"
"I'm not like how comfortable this fellow Is with Harry"—James agreed—"He sounds like a creep"
Dumbledore quickly spoke—"I would never, Believe me, I have never hired anyone that might cause physical damage to any student"
Sirius coughed—"Quirrell"
"Why hasn't Ron wand been reported yet? Flitwick should have intervened"—Augusta said
"Quidditch practice!" said Wood. "Oliver," Harry croaked. "It's the crack of dawn."
James didn't know if he should agree with Harry or Oliver in the end the Dad in him won.—"Oliver let him sleep"—he reprimanded
"Only because it's your son…I still remember your need to practice 3 times a week for three hours straight"—Sirius said
"Yes well that was then and that is that…we were seventeen Harry is eleven and needs his sleep"
"I heard someone saying your name on the stairs, Harry!
"Stalker"
"Harry is too nice to say Fuck off but damn if only he knew how James would have already gotten rid of Colin"—Remus mocked
James shrugged-"Well thank Merlin my child has better manners"
Sirius made a face-"Augh parenthood changed you"
what kept you?" said Wood briskly.
"Lad watch the tone"—James reprimanded him
"What kept him…I don't know maybe the miles of stairs and hallways between the tower and the pitch"—Frank said
"We should have won the Quidditch cup last year. Harry shifted guiltily in his seat.
Lily gasped—"How dare he…he was hurt"
"Oliver is intense"—Marlene chastised—"But he is sixteen, his lack of tact is expected."
"You do your plays while you train, that way they memorize it"—Monty said
Colin was sitting in one of the highest seats.
"He can't be taking pictures of Harry like that"—Dorea said
said Flint. "But I've got a specially signed note here from Professor Snape.
Everyone turned to Snape who rolled his eyes—"The quidditch pitch is for everyone to use."—he glared at all of them, he was getting tired of them and of this reading, They hadn't read anything interesting, nothing that would help them defeat the Dark Lord.
"You've got a new Seeker?" said Wood, It was Draco Malfoy.
Andromeda closed her eyes in annoyance.—"He just had to be in the spotlight"
"This reeks Lucius Malfoy all over it"—Ted said
Draco's father," generous gift he's made to the Slytherin team."Nimbus Two Thousand and One
"That's a huge disadvantage to every house team"—Augusta said looking at Dumbledore—"You shouldn't have allowed it"
"I wouldn't have but If he took it to the governors, there was very little I could have done"
Arthur was annoyed on behalf of his children.
the Gryffindor team had to buy their way in," said Hermione sharply. "They got in on pure talent."
"Yeah, tell him Hermione"—Alice said.
"Oh…she needs to watch who she says these things to"—Dorea pinched her lips.
"Nah let her speak her mind, I'm sure she can defend herself."—
"No one asked your opinion, you filthy little Mudblood," he spat.
The gasp that was heard around the room made the book pause.
The marauders had their wands out. Sirius opened and closed his mouth in anger.
"That little shit dared to disrespect our Hermione"—James said and turned sharply when he heard Lily sniffing—"Oh flower don't cry"—he hugged her Lily shook her head.-"It's stupid they have said that to me so many times…but Hermione is so innocent at this moment."
Snape's gut twisted and he swallowed hard, he had the apology on the tip of his tongue but he didn't dare say anything because of the glare he could see from Marlene.
"Draco is just a little boy he… It's so sad that Narcissa is allowing Lucius to infect his mind with such bigotry"—Dorea said
Andromeda leaned into her husband with a sigh, She would have to start planning how to get her sister out of Lucius' grasp, she looked at Sirius…she was going to need his help and she didn't even know if he was willing.
Arthur agreed with his children's reaction, nobody should be addressed in that manner.
"Oh I like that Harry doesn't even know what it means"—Lily sniffed
"Yes but it is also dangerous"—Monty reminded her
Ron's wand hit him in the stomach and sent him reeling backwards onto the grass. Ron opened he gave an almighty belch and several slugs dribbled out of his mouth onto his lap.
Marlene made a disgusted face—"Ew, it would have been a great curse for Malfoy"
"He is lucky he didn't get hurt. Trying to curse someone with a broken wand"—Molly said annoyed
Hagrid was startled and a little pleased that the children would come to him for help but he shook his head—"They should have gone to Poppy"
Gilderoy Lockhart, wearing robes of the palest mauve today
"Yes Harry because that's relevant now"—Sirius shook his head at the weird things his godson noticed.
"Whats Mauve?"—Remus asked
"Purple"—Kingsley, Sirius, Dorea and Marlene said at the same time.
Lockhart was saying loudly to Hagrid. "If you need help, you know where I am! I'll let you have a copy of my book. I'm surprised you haven't already got one
"I don't want his book"—Hagrid made a face
"Givin' me advice on gettin' kelpies out of a well," growled Hagrid
Hagrid huffed incredulously—"How dare he think I don't know how to do my job"
said Hagrid, "An' I mean the only one. It is very difficult to find anyone for the Dark Arts job. People aren't too keen to take it on, see. They're startin' ter think it's jinxed.
"So that's why you hired him…still why not send curse breakers"—Augusta said
"I believe the curse will only be revoked when he is truly gone"—Dumbledore sighed.
"He? As in Voldemort what does he have anything to do with it?"
Dumbledore turned to Kingsley—"He was the one that cursed it when I refused to allow him to teach"
That took many by surprise.
Marlene shook-"Imagine having him as a teacher"
gasped Ron, "Mudblood's a foul name for someone who is Muggle-born (…)like Malfoy's family —(…) call pure-blood." "Look at Neville Longbottom (…) he can hardly stand a cauldron the right way up."
Alice gasped indignantly and Augusta looked at Molly and Arthur with a glare.
Dorea had to cover her mouth to stop the chuckle and Monty elbow her.
Arthur defended his son—"I'm sure it wasn't an insult, not everyone is good at potions I wasn't"
"An' they haven't invented a spell our Hermione can' do," said Hagrid proudly, making Hermione go a brilliant shade of magenta.
Lily smiled at Hagrid with approval but this one didn't see it since he kept looking at the book with disapproval.
"Most wizards these days are half-blood anyway. If we hadn't married Muggles we'd've died out.
"You've raised your children right Molly, Arthur. If our way of thinking doesn't change Wizarding Britain is going to find itself very low-populated"—Monty said
"Now add the war"—
Malfoy would've come marchin' up ter school if yeh'd cursed his son. Least yer not in trouble."
The Aurors agreed—"It better the lad didn't curse him, Lucius has too many high contacts"
I've heard you've been givin' out signed photos. How come I haven't got one?" Furious, Harry wrenched his teeth apart, then he saw that Hagrid was laughing.
"Nice Hagrid"—The marauders joke
Hagrid laughed—"Ah they need to relax sometimes, they are so little for so much stress"
"That's what yer little sister said," said Hagrid," Hagrid looked sideways at Harry, his beard twitching. "Said she was jus' lookin' round the grounds, but I reckon she was hopin' she might run inter someone else at my house." He winked at Harry.
"Another stalker"—
Molly glared at Sirius—"I'm sure she is just lonely."
"Maybe I didn't tell the boys to keep an eye out for her"
"Trust me, even if you told them no boy wants their little sister around"—Marlene shrugged
"You will be polishing the silver in the trophy room with Mr. Filch," said Professor McGonagall.
"Ouch"—
"That's going to hurt tomorrow"
"That stench doesn't go away in days"
"And you, Potter, will be helping Professor Lockhart answer his fan mail," said Professor McGonagall.
"NO!"—Lily said.
Professor McGonagall raised her eyebrows. "Professor Lockhart requested you particularly.
"Weirdo"—Remus said in huff.
"Detention should be something to learn…send him to the greenhouse or the library"—Dorea said
"I don't want Harry alone with him."
Harry let Lockhart's voice wash over him, occasionally saying, "Mmm" and "Right" and "Yeah."
"I'm as bored as him"—James said on edge he didn't like this man.
"Good heavens nobody likes themselves this much"
A.P. He has been paying attention to everyone's reaction Moody, Snape and Augusta were getting bored and frustrated, it was to be expected of them. He leaned forward for their reaction to the voice.
then he heard something
It was a voice, a voice to chill the bone marrow, a voice of breathtaking, ice-cold venom.
"Come… come to me… Let me rip you...Let me tear you down...Let me kill you…"
"What is that?"—Lily sat up, She was looking at the book and back to her husband an expression that clearly said do something.
Remus stood up making Marlene smack him in the arm—"You're a nervous thing in this book, sit down"
"I can't, it gave me the creeps, there is something…wrong with it."
"No shit, it's going to kill someone" –Frank said.
Sirius stopped him—"It's not human I feel it too"—he said to Remus.
A.P. was fascinated.
Harry told Ron exactly what he had heard.
"But why didn't Lockhart hear it when it was so loud and clear"—James said confused
"Probably too busy listing to himself"
Dumbledore pressed his lips together, something was wrong he didn't like it at all…he could still remember the cold chill he felt when he found Myrtle's dead body in the bathroom he was dreading it happening again.
"What is it Albus?"—Minerva asked making everyone turn to look at the men.
"Something terrible is happening and it seems our young Harry was the first one to realize."
"The Chamber holds a myth that nobody has been able to prove"—Dorea said but Monty shook her head—"Let's not dual on that just yet"
CHAPTER EIGHT—Deathday Party
Harry was returning to Gryffindor Tower, drenched to the skin and splattered with mud.
Lily chastised— "It can't be good for him to be out in the cold, I doubt he has many body defences"
"No, what won't be good for him is if Filch finds him leaving mud on the floor"—Frank said
The marauders made a face at the Slytherin team's description.
Nearly Headless Nick, the ghost of Gryffindor Tower, was staring morosely out of a window, muttering under his breath, "… don't fulfil their requirements… half an inch, if that…"
"He is still with that?"—Remus shook his head—"500 years he should let it go"
"What?"—Molly asked curiously
"He wants to join the headless hunt but well he isn't headless"—Sirius said
and some third-years accidentally plastered frog brains all over the ceiling in dungeon five.
James urged—"Damn Harry run"—
Snape sneered at the unpleasant memory of the idiot man in front of him doing something similar that ended in all of them covered in brains.
The young adults groaned when Filch caught Harry.
"Why does Filch work here if he is a squib?"—Augusta said
"I didn't believe you to be against them Augusta"
Augusta glared at Dumbledore –"I'm not but clearly the man needs stable tasks, it's a massive castle after all."
Fred and George Weasley had an entire drawer to themselves.
Molly shook her head disappointed while James laughed—"So did we"
Sirius whispered to Remus—"Do you think he still has it somewhere?"
Remus shrugged—"Probably, we will have to see once we get out"
Sirius turned to Marlene with a lovely smile and she sighed—"Fine'll be your lookout"
"It's only a bit of mud to you, boy, but to me, it's an extra hour scrubbing!" shouted Filch.
"While that's true, If he is sick he should be resting, I'm sure Dumbledore isn't slaving him away"—Kingsley added
"This man is clearly bitter of working around magic, maybe a holiday"—Augusta said
there was a great BANG! on the ceiling of the office, Thinking that he should probably wait for Filch to come back,
"No!"—The marauders said
"Yes!"—Alice said disapprovingly
Harry picked up the envelope and read: Kwikspell
Lily gasped –"Harry James! Put that back that isn't yours…how dare he"—
"He is so nosy that's going to get him into trouble"—
"Those agencies should be banned they only make problems for the Aurors"—Moody huffed
"We have a vanishing cabinet?"—Marlene asked Dumbledore—"Those are so rare not many of them have twins…where is it?"—
"It likes to change places."—he said making her pout she had seen a twin in Borgin and Burke during a mission and she had been deeply curious about where it could take her.
"Oh he knows Harry saw the envelope"
"Is he mad or embarrassed?"—Sirius asked
Monty said—"Does it matter, What Harry did was very wrong and I hope he apologizes"- James and Sirius kept their mouth shut.
"Harry! Harry! Did it work?" Nearly Headless Nick came gliding out of a classroom.
James clapped—"Good man Nick."
Arthur chuckled—"You seem close to Nick"
"Mhm to a few ghosts actually, We would run into each other at night so they watched our back as long as we didn't bother them or help them"—Remus smiled—"Nick's help comes with a prize though, as does Peeves."
Minerva was glaring at him without him noticing making Lily and Marlene smile. It seems Minerva was paying attention to future pranksters.
"My dear boy! Harry Potter, at my deathday party! And —" he hesitated, looking excited
"There is the price"—Sirius sighed—"It's going to be boring as hell for him"
"Nick is good to have as an alley"—Remus reminded
"A promise is a promise," Hermione reminded Harry bossily. "You said you'd go to the deathday party."
Lily nodded in approval—"It will also help with the significance of the day"
James whispered next to her.— "We have been gone eleven years"—
Kingsley leaned curiously—"Why does their perception change so much, They can't believe that music sounds nice."
Remus explained—"Because most ghosts stay behind out of sadness or mostly negative emotions. Their entire perception of life changes to what they feel and how they are living, and that's why Nicks's wife lives far away from him, She rather be where she died and he rather is where he tried to seek refuge"
"I didn't know Nick came here to be protected?"—Andromeda said
Minerva nodded—"His brother was a professor in his time, but he was found and dragged back to pay his debt"
said Hermione "Turn back, turn back, I don't want to talk to Moaning Myrtle —" "Yes. It's been out of order all year because she keeps having tantrums and flooding the place. I never went in there anyway if I could avoid it; it's awful trying to have a pee with her wailing at you —"
"Hey, why so mean to Pervert Myrtle?"—Sirius said and Marlene laughed—"Still traumatized my love?"
"I'm sure she peeked"—Sirius shuddered
"She was never shy about it"—James said shaking his head
"What are you talking about?"—Minerva asked
"Myrtle likes to spy people on the bathrooms."—Remus said
Andromeda who had also been a prefect in her time blushed—"She liked to watch…I don't know why she stays around."
"But it curious she has never been so distressed to put the bathroom out of order."—Lily said
Dumbledore shook his head and crossed his hands on his lap. He thought sadly it had happened again. He feared for his students how many would end like Myrtle.
said Peeves, "OY! MYRTLE!"
Ted laughed—"Peeves is like a dog, he smells fear"
Sirius made an offended sound making Marlene bite her lip to stop herself from laughing.
"Miss Granger was just talking about you —" said Peeves slyly in Myrtle's ear (…) Moaning Myrtle burst into anguished sobs and fled from the dungeon.
"Aw poor Myrtle"—Alice said sadly—"She is just fourteen you know, I don't think ghosts mature"
"Well sir Patrick sounds like in Ass"—Frank said
"Just go Potter"—Moody said annoyed—"Why are we even listening to this, Nothing is happening"
Monty shook his head—"Everything is relevant, events happen in a way for a reason"
And then Harry heard it.
"… rip… tear… kill…"
"It's that voice again
"… soo hungry… for so long…"
"Listen!" said Harry urgently, and Ron and Hermione froze, watching him.
"… kill… time to kill…"
The marauders shuddered, the girls looking at them in concern. –"It's an animal"—James confirmed making Lily whimper.
"But Granger and Weasley can't hear it"—Moody said, finally Something interesting he thought
"It sounds so close to them"—Molly held on to Arthur in alarm.
he began to run, up the stairs, into the entrance hall.
"… I smell blood… I SMELL BLOOD!"
His stomach lurched —
"It's going to kill someone!" he shouted
Dorea shook her head and leaned into her husband—"Why is he running towards it!"
"The Great Hall, it's going to the Great Hall"—Minerva said to Albus who was looking at the book with slight distress.
THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED.
ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE
there was a large puddle of water on the floor; Mrs. Norris, the caretaker's cat, was hanging by her tail from the torch bracket. She was stiff as a board, her eyes wide and staring.
"It happened again"—Dumbledore stated—"I am afraid the children are in grave danger"
The expression on everyone in the room ran from fear to absolute terror and confusion.
Then someone shouted through the quiet.
"Enemies of the Heir, beware! You'll be next, Mudbloods!"
It was Draco Malfoy.
Andromeda was looking at the floor her head shaking in dismay—"He sounds excited, he knows."
"He doesn't, he just thinks he is safe."
A.P. closed the book and everybody turned to him. –"Let's have Dinner"—he stood up leaving everyone else in disbelief.
So I was thinking about introducing everyone's Jobs or carrers. I know that for James, Sirius, Frank and Alice we know they were Aurors or at least for James and Sirius that's highly accepted as canon. But for Lily ill go with Unspeakable for the way she has always been described, Remus I know we knew him as a teacher but I doubt that's what he wanted to be from the beginning so if anyone has in idea…Ill probably go with something alone the lines of Editor or philologist and from there get a love for research and academics. For Marlene many always describe her as a healer but I don't know why she came to me as an antiquarian or someone that specializes in wards.
Please review and remeber i do this for fun
