Albus arranged the table and told the elves to prepare the kids for dinner. While everyone else spoke in harsh whispers, he was even surprised since Snape was also adding his commentary.

Albus came back to the circle and said, "Look, I know that you are concerned, and you want an answer, but it'll be best to put the kids to sleep. Maybe we can even read one or two more chapters to calm your nerves."

"That voice wasn't human."-Remus said

"No, it was not."-

Before anything could get out of hand, it was Mad-Eye who spoke up: "We're going to have dinner, you're going to prepare your children for bed, and then we're going to come down here and discuss a few questions that I have, and we will read two or three more chapters because we're wasting time."

"We have all the time in our hands," Andromeda stated. She didn't like to be bossed around; she had tamed her aggressive demeanor over the years, but she would prefer if Moody watched his tone.

"I don't know about you, Mrs. Tonks, but I do not like to waste time around, whether I have it or not, we're at war."

"I'm very aware, Alastor; my sister wants me dead"-she spat.

Dumbledore intervened- "Let's all come down. The time in the time bubble will help us regroup and plan."

"That's all we have been doing"- Alice said defensively.

"Now we are going to do It for real"—Sirius said making a few of them frown.

Organizing the kids for dinner was tiring. The older adults whispered about what Harry heard, while the others helped with the children. Sirius and Marlene were helping Molly again as Arthur had been pulled into the conversation with Monty and Moody.

Snape and Minerva whispered at the end of the table about what could make Albus so nervous.

Once dinner was done, the oldest children were allowed to play a little more while the younger ones had their baths and were put to bed. Lily locked herself in her room while she bathed Harry and got him all pampered for bed. She started rocking him and singing him to sleep. She didn't even feel James slipping into the room.

"Really, rocket man?"—he chuckled.

"He likes it. Is it time yet?"

"No, fifteen more minutes before Moody starts yelling."

She nodded and pulled all three to bed. James wanted to make a joke about her nesting but knew she needed it. He played with Harry's hair and hummed until he was quietly snoring. "He is adorable"- James said, cuddling into his neck.

They quietly went down, where everyone else was regrouping. Molly came to sit down, taking a breath. "I love my children, but when it's time to put them to bed, I ask myself again why I had so many."

The moms started talking about their kids, and Minerva laughed- "I didn't birth them, but try putting 600 to sleep."

Dorea laughed. "From experience, not all of them are sleeping"

—Minerva chastised her.

Moody sits down — "Yes, children are wonderful. What do we know about the chamber of secrets?"

"It's a myth"—James shrugged. "Everybody has looked for it; no one's found it."

"Your son did," Augusta said, making James frown.

"The chamber has been opened before"—Dumbledore's calm voice was heard- "During the war with Grindelwald, and it cost the life of one student."

A.P. looked at Dumbledore with suspicion; the men liked suspense far too much. He looked at Hagrid, who had been quiet. He passed him a strong cup of tea. "It's alright, Hagrid; in the end, things find their way. But I do warn you; there might be moments where you will be distressed."

"So, this is his worst year?"

A.P. thought about it: "No, it was one of them. His worst year, I think, was the sixth year because of how dark and morose it was; add probably this one and the fifth year. The third year was the calmest he lived, but it was the most emotional one."

Lily and James hold on to each other. "It's a miracle he has good memories of his school days."

Monty sighed and settled on his seat. "Let's just continue."

CHAPTER NINE—The Writing on the Wall

"My cat! My cat! What's happened to Mrs. Norris?" he shrieked.

"I feel bad for him"—Marlene said—"That cat is probably his only family."

"I would feel bad if he hadn't threatened Harry's life"—Remus pinched his lips.

Minerva shook her head. "That's just too much screaming; where are the prefects?"

"Lockart trying to inject himself into everything."

"How many pictures of himself does he have?"

Augusta said, "Shouldn't you be able to cast a diagnostic spell on the cat?"

"Call Poppy"

"She's a healer, not a zoologist."

Snape loomed behind It was as though he was trying hard not to smile.

Kingsley turned to him in question-"Any idea why your older self is acting like a git?"

James was the one who spoke-"He thinks it's a prank."

Snape turned to him and said, "Your son seems to be capable of... you would have thought it funny."

Sirius scoffed: "We never harm animals, only greasy fuckers."

Snape went for his wand while James laughed, and Dorea reprimanded, "What are you, twelve? Your grown men."

"They are not"—Ted said—"They are barely out of their teenage years, and that the war forces them to grow up doesn't mean they are a man. Not yet." He didn't know why he decided to intervene in this matter.

Dorea still glared at the boys in the room.

"It was a curse that killed her — probably the Transmogrifian Torture I know the very countercurse …" the full story's in my autobiography, I was able to provide the townsfolk with various amulets,

Moody looked at the book with disgust—"Kingsley, write this idiot's name down; we are going to have to monitor him in the future...I want to know where he "Learned" all this bullshit."

"He just couldn't make this thing up."

"It's sound like fantasies."—Lily said

"She has been Petrified," said said Dumbledore firmly. "it would take Dark Magic of the most advanced —"

"What petrifies something?"—Frank asked

"Gorgons"—Remus said—"But one hasn't been seen since the early 1900s, and I doubt one has decided to just show up at Hogwarts and attack students."

Monty was thoughtful —"What about other creatures that petrify their victims before eating them or neutralizing them?"

"Eat them!"—Minerva said alarmed

"Well obviously the chamber is to have a creature so I suppose it must be hungry"

"Fleamont! Inside thoughts for the moment, please, Dorea said, shaking her head, "I don't want to think about a starving creature running around"

said Snape, "Potter and his friends may have simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time,"

"But?"—Alice said—"Ah"—she nodded when Snape still tried to incriminate the group. "You won't get anything out of them if you don't change your attitude."

"Attitude! They were part of a crime scene. They have every right to be questioned like that."

his heart thumping very fast; something told him it would sound very far-fetched if he told them he had been led there by a bodiless voice no one but he could hear.

"Yes, but it needs to be said," Augusta said.

"But my son doesn't trust anyone"—James stated

Moody had to agree: "The boy has no one to trusts to talk to, and his friends don't count."

"I suggest, Headmaster, that Potter is not being entirely truthful," he said. he should be taken off the Gryffindor Quidditch team until he is ready to be honest."

Everyone in the room turns to Snape with an incredulous look. Even Snape had to agree that it had sounded like a very weak argument.

Minerva pinched her lip; she was starting to realize the kind of Professor Severus was going to be, and she wasn't looking forward to it.

Dumbledore was giving Harry a searching look. His twinkling light-blue gaze made Harry feel as though he were being X-rayed.

Dumbledore flinched at what that sounded like. Monty glared at him.

"So you know."—Sirius stated and Dumbledore denied.

"Harry is alluding to having his mind read."

"That's the key word, alluding he doesn't know for sure and he doesn't even know about Legemincy"—Minerva defended

said Dumbledore patiently. "Professor Sprout recently managed to procure some Mandrakes.

"How convenient."—Andromeda said, staring at Dumbledore

"What is the matter with Lockart"—Ted said in disbelief. "He suddenly does everyone's job."

"No," said Ron, without hesitation. "Hearing voices no one else can hear isn't a good sign, even in the wizarding world."

"Oh, Ron," Arthur said,"Harry won't like that."

"He is not wrong; the mind is complicated in our world. Harry would be sent to St. Mungo's to see a healer."

"Which would create a trauma"—Lily sighed.

scrubbing the message on the wall with Mrs. Skower's All-Purpose Magical Mess Remover, but to no effect; the words still gleamed as brightly as ever on the stone.

A.P. spoke, making them jump—"It's still there, you know; it becomes less clear, but it's covered with a big safari portrait."

Ginny's lip trembled. "Stuff like this doesn't often happen at Hogwarts," Ron assured her.

"Said the boy who fought Voldemort a few months before"—Monty smiled—"He is a good brother"

"Yes but who did it?"—Augusta said—"I can't believe it was one of the professors, not the incompetent Lockhart"

"We haven't read of anyone calming the students down."—

"Or calling the Aurors"—Moody said out loud.

Marlene looked at Lily, and neither liked Justin's reaction.

"All the copies of Hogwarts, A History have been taken out,"

"The book doesn't really explain what it is, Remus said to everyone. "It only says that it's a chamber created by Salazar Slytherin and that he left a guard inside.""

Molly looked outraged. "Is my son trying to copy her friend?"

"Everyone has done it," Alice said.

Augusta rolled her eyes-"We have bigger problems, Molly"

"I can't believe you haven't gotten rid of Binns."—Kingsley said

"My subject is History of Magic," he said in his dry, wheezy voice. "I deal with facts, Miss Granger, not myths and legends."

"Legends are based on facts"—Kingsley said, with Remus nodding along.

"He doesn't even remember the student's name."

"How old was Binns when he died?"

"Around 140," Dumbledore said.

Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago "For a few years, the founders worked in harmony together(…) rift began to grow between Slytherin and the others. (…) After a while, there was a serious argument on the subject between Slytherin and Gryffindor, and Slytherin left the school."(…)The story goes that Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in the castle, of which the other founders knew nothing.(…)The heir alone would be able to unseal the Chamber of Secrets, unleash the horror within, and use it to purge the school of all who were unworthy to study magic."

"Ominous"—Augusta said

"Well Fuck Slytherin"—Sirius said

"Different times and different problems"—Frank said—"The problem is that in 1992, those situations shouldn't exist anymore, at least not like this."

"Yes, there is a monster, but what kind!"—James said, looking at Remus, who shrugged.

"It could be a lot of things Jamie, it has to be really small or able to camouflage because nobody has seen it."

"Moody said, "You know what has to happen. Another attack.""

"If a long succession of Hogwarts headmasters and headmistresses haven't found the thing —"

"Not for the lack of trying"—Dumbledore said

"But isn't the Slytherin line dead?"—Alice asked

"The Gaunts right"—Sirius said to Andy—"They were the last of the mainline"

"How do you know that?"—Lily asked, she still had difficulty remembering James' family line.

"Beaten into me."—Sirius shrugged, and Andy smiled sadly toward him before speaking.

"The main line died, but the gaunt lived on through a few children of a second son."

"This Dean boy might not be wrong; it will have to be Slytherin blood that does the trick"

if the Sorting Hat had tried to put me in Slytherin, I'd've got the train straight back home…"

Marlene sighed—"This house rivalry is out of control, and this will only make students go against others."

"Like with us"—Alice said, shaking her head, "it's starting again."

A.P. smiled sadly; if only they knew it never started, it was always there. Left behind from the first war.

"That I'm Slytherin's heir, I expect," said Harry,

The marauders groaned—"What the fuck! Why?"

"It's Harry Sirius"—Andy said and she explained at the faces she received, "to the children, Harry is the most powerful student inside the school. He stopped a war, so who has the power, according to their eyes? Harry."

"I wouldn't believe that even if you paid me"

Monty looked at Frank—"You didn't live the war like them; most of these kids are probably orphaned, have missing family members, lived through the war with age enough to fear it, or are muggle-born and are completely terrified at the moment."

"Can't hurt to have a poke around," said Harry,

"Auror material"—Alastor said, looking at Monty, who rolled his eyes.

"Or someone who likes research."

"Or maybe a nosy child who should be on his way"—Marlene shook her head.

Lily turned to her husband, who gave her a sweet smile.—"I know, I know this is my fault."

Hagrid was nervous; he was trying not to show how this book was affecting him. Dumbledore had spoken to him before they sat down. He tried not to flinch or fidget too much, even when Albus Potter was staring at him, but he couldn't stop the whimper when they talked about the spiders escaping the castle—"It's happening again."

Remus turned around to look at him. "You know about this?"

"Yes, but I don't know much."

The potters were going to question him when A.P. intervened—"Hagrid's time will come. Let's continue"

"I — don't — like — spiders," said Ron tensely.

"Accidental magic isn't always nice."—Molly said, biting her lip. She was taking notes to keep a better watch on the twins.

"Arachnophobia is no joke; I hope Ron knows how to manage it"—Kingsley said

"Hermione is being mean"—Lily chastised.

Myrtle dramatically. "Peeves upset me so much I came in here and tried to kill myself. Then, of course, I remembered that I'm — that I'm —" "Already dead," said Ron helpfully.

Arthur groaned, and Sirius laughed. "Boy, with no tact, he will put his foot in his mouth before he understands how to control it"

"You would know"—Marlene whispered.

"RON!"Percy Weasley had stopped dead at the head of the stairs, " Ron shrugged. "Clues, you know —" "Get — away — from — there —" Perry said, striding toward them and starting to bustle them along, flapping his arms.(…)said Ron, whose ears were now reddening. "You're just worried I'm going to mess up your chances of being Head Boy —"

Arthur didn't like the tone with which his children were talking to each other. Molly agreed with Percy—"Oh, Ronnie, just listen to Percy."

"I wonder how many other children are scared, like Ginny, of their first year being ruined because of this situation."

"Look at his family," said Harry, closing his books, too. "The whole lot of them have been in Slytherin; he's always boasting about it. They could easily be Slytherin's descendants. His father's definitely evil enough."

Andromeda smiled sadly. "I see why they would think that, but The Malfoy's are a lesser house; they are just rich."

James asked the Weasley's, "You don't teach your children Family history?"

Molly shook her head— "Bill and Charlie are being taught by Gideon in case they... you know"—Molly couldn't say it out loud—"But I suppose without the lordships and no title, we didn't think it was necessary"

Sirius nodded but didn't agree. He hated the idea of children being beaten like he had, but Family history is important. Many Pureblood families had secrets, which is why Lily was also learning.

"Imagine the gloating if they were descended from a founder."—James said with disgust.

"Says the boy who always brags about Godric Gryffindor"—Alice said, and Lily laughed at James' outraged face—"We have half proof that we either descend or our family was allied; judge that Fawley."

Alice stuck her tongue out— "It's Longbottom."—

"There might be a way," said Hermione slowly, it would be difficult. said Hermione. "All we'd need would be some Polyjuice Potion."

That made Snape laugh. "They are going to kill themselves. Your Hermione is going to kill your son," he said, looking at James, who glared

"The girl is brilliant; she will do it just fine"

Lily bit her lip nervously. "She might be able to do it, but the ingredients and getting the hair—oh, oh, they are going to get in so much trouble if they get caught"

"Oh, come on, no teacher's going to fall for that," said Ron. "They'd have to be thick…"

Minerva was about to agree, and she groaned: "Lockhart, they are going to...I dare say your child is something else, Mrs. Potter"

Lily said exasperated— "the last name should tell you enough, Minerva."

"Illegal brewing," Minerva said disapprovingly. "Missing with body morphing like that is no joke"—

The Marauders tried so hard not to look at each other.

CHAPTER TEN—The Rogue Bludger

Harry was hauled to the front of the class this time acting a werewolf.

"Oh shit," Marlene said, putting her weight on Remus. Sirius was not helping by laughing, making Remus's jaw tense. "Why are you laughing, you mongrel?"

"Cause I'm picturing it and it's hilarious."

James threw both of them a cookie: "If you don't mind, I don't like my child being used to interact bullshit"

"I can't believe people believe this shit," Frank said.

"Nice loud howl, Harry — exactly — and then, if you'll believe it, I pounced — like this — slammed him to the floor — thus with one hand, I managed to hold him down — with my other, I put my wand to his throat

Remus's jaw was on the floor—"Is he idiotic!"

"Imagine all the people who believe this and are trying to do it"—Arthur huffed

Minerva scoffed—"The Homorphus Charm is for transfiguration and doesn't work like this man is teaching it"

"He isn't teaching anything," Augusta said, stretching her legs —"I do hope you have some plan for this Dumbledore, because otherwise, your desperation for a teacher is disturbing"

"A poem for homework?"—Moody turned to Dumbledore—"You are destroying future Auror trainees with these classes."

Minerva was outraged. "He didn't even read it!"

"That could become fraud very easily"—Augusta said

"I'm sure even Pince realizes that note is useless"

Snape turned to Dumbledore and said, "The notes for the restriction section should only be given by the heads of houses."

Hermione opened Moste Potente Potions

"That's not a book for them yet," Monty said. "Most of what is there is too difficult to even understand."

"Polyjuice is one of the tamest potions in the book"—A.P. agreed

"When were you allowed to read it?"

"At the age of eight, I have been a potion genius since I was five, and dad never restricted me."—

Monty eyes gleamed—"Good good, to continue the family legacy"

"Yeah Dad thinks"—James mumbled

"D'you realize how much we're going to have to steal, Hermione? (…) Well, if you two are going to chicken out, fine," she said. There were bright pink patches on her cheeks and her eyes were brighter than usual.

"My look at her; she likes trouble," Andromeda said, shaking her head

"Dangerous trouble, illegal potion making, and stealing. I don't think she understands how much damage they can do to themselves"—Monty said

"She is desperate," Lily said. "Hear how she talks about the attack; she is scared"

"It'll be a lot less hassle if you can just knock Malfoy off his broom tomorrow."

Molly gaped—"Ronald! We don't wish harm to anyone."

James shrugged. "Well, seekers normally play offense in professional quidditch."

"I don't think he has the body muscle for that."

"I still believe the governors were idiots for allowing the Slytherin to accept the brooms. Lucius should have been forced to donate brooms to all the quidditch teams."

"Or just buy your child a broom and let him earn the spot by talent"—Frank rolled his eyes.

James smiled at Wood's speech. "If Wood goes pro, he will be a good team captain. His dedication might get him a spot on a good team."

"Damn it's true, the game Is on Harry's shoulder"-

"How different is one broom from the other?"—Lily asked James, who shrugged.

"Perhaps not much in speed just different form, perhaps the 2001 weights less and that helps with movement."

Ted chuckled—"Ah children, scarhead is their best insult"

"How big is Harry's scar?"—Dorea asked A.P., who drew on his forehead with his finger, making Lily gasp—"No wonder people recognize him; it's so big"

"He used to keep his hair long; now he doesn't care"

a heavy black Bludger came pelting toward him; (…) the Bludger swerved like a boomerang and shot at Harry's head.

"Someone temper with it"—Sirius said he remembered many times how the Slytherin had done it to James or one of the other team members.

"Fuck, the team is at a huge disadvantage"

"Why are we reading this?"—Moody said annoyed

"This is all your fault," George said angrily to Wood. "'Get the Snitch or die trying,' what a stupid thing to tell him."

"oh dear, that was so close to Harry's head"—Lily bit her lip—"Why couldn't he like chorus?"

"Who the hell temper the bludger? This is more than a student"—Remus said

"Probably a professor again"

Marlene scoffed.—"What, Lockart decided to eliminate his competition for attention?"

"I don't think he is even in the game"—Dorea said

Lily closed her eyes, James and her father-in-law were scared for Harry but their love for the game was making them excited. "Why quidditch Harry" she lamented.

The Bludger had hit him at last, smashed into his elbow, and Harry felt his arm break.

Sirius jerks, "That hurt; Hooch needs to call it"

Lily was biting her thumb. Why was Harry always getting hurt? She pushed James with her shoulder and hugged her. "He is tough"—he said

he felt his fingers close on the cold Snitch but was now only gripping the broom with his legs.

James clapped and stood up, excited—Yes! Look at him, go"

"James! He just got hurt, and that's all you care about; someone hurt our child."

"And he is still going, Lily…Fuck them; our son is strong"—

Andromeda closed her eyes, exasperated. "Where is Poppy, the boy just fainted she should already be there. Hogwarts needs more than one Medi-Witch."

"Lie back, Harry," said Lockhart soothingly. "It's a simple charm I've used countless times —"

Dorea looked annoyed. "Where is Poppy? Minerva, where are you?"

"Harry is clearly not consenting" —Lily said, fighting the urge to yell at the book.

Andromeda gasped, "WHAT? Is he so incompetent that he couldn't even do an episky? Oh, Minerva, you better yell at him for his incompetence."

Madam Pomfrey was holding a large bottle of something labelled Skele-Gro.

The marauders grimaced, and Remus was angry. "I just want to grab him by the neck and shake this man. How stupid do you have to be"

"Madam Pomfrey should file a complaint for risking a student"—Kingsley denied.

Remus felt sorry for Harry; Skele-grow was not nice.

Then, with a thrill of horror, he realized that someone was sponging his forehead in the dark. "Dobby!"(…)"You stopped the barrier from letting us through!"(…) Such a flogging Dobby never had, sir…"

Lily's mouth was open in horror. "Did he... what kind of people own these elves? You know what, I'm going to do something about this."—

A.P. burst into laughter—"Hold on to that thought."

Monty sighed. "Do I get a vote in the next political move of the House of Potter?"

"No, you said I get two vetos and two votes."

Dorea bit her lip—"You did say that."

Sirius rolled his eyes at Lily —"You have to admit this elf is deranged."

I might strangle you."

Dorea chastises, "Harry Potter!"

"Calm down Mom, even Dobby didn't believe him.

Dobby thought his Bludger would be enough to make —"

Remus face-palms himself. Marlene wanted to laugh, and Sirius looked angry.

"CONSTANT VIGILANCE!"—Moody yelled, and A.P. rolled his eyes. "You took your time."

"This is a security breach, Albus; how did this elf get into the school so close to the students? He doesn't work here."

Dumbledore nodded— "I'm afraid I never paid much attention; the elves have their own magic."

"Derange"—Sirius signalled the book.

Kingsley spoke harshly, making Snape fidget. "Voldemort treats his followers as vermin; remember the body we found of one of the deserters and the multiple tortures he has inflicted as punishment; I'm sure a simple house-elf must be nothing to him."

said Harry fiercely. "One of my best friends is Muggle-born; she'll be first in line.

Remus smiled at Harry, that was all his father.

"Aw Haz, my baby is scared."

Dumbledore was backing into the dormitory; He was carrying one end of what looked like a statue. "Another attack," said Dumbledore. "Minerva found him on the stairs." It was Colin Creevey. "Petrified?" whispered Madam Pomfrey.

"Stupid child"—Snape said

"For a moment, I thought It was Ronny"—Molly exhaled.

"Was this supposed to calm my nerves?"—Lily yelped.

"Fascinating, how was he petrified?"—Dumbledore whispered.

"Does that matter, this is where you call the Aurors"—Moody said.
