Francine looked around her surroundings. She and Tanya were asked to retrieve an ancient artifact, but now they're trapped in the tomb of the ancient artifact.
"Crap." Francine held the artifact and looked at it. The golden statue held a dragon. It looked as if the statue stared into Francine's eyes.
"I had told you not to retrieve the statue until I left the room." Tanya hit the door, but it didn't budge.
"There's got to be a way out of here." Francine placed the statue down and walked over to one of the caskets. The sarcophagus' faces had beautiful gold detailing.
"This looks like one of the mummy sarcophagus in Egypt," Francine said.
"What?"
"Oh, just a place in Earthrealm, sandy as hell." Francine dragged her finger over the coffin and the dust stained her finger. "Pretty sandy here, too."
"That information does not help us to escape. We may be killed any second." Tanya backed away from the door.
"Trying to lighten the mood, if we die here, at least we'll die together. We can huddle together and cry." Francine held a chuckle and picked up the statue. "All this trouble for a dumb statue. What's Shang Tsung going to use it for?"
"I am not sure myself," Tanya looked at the coffin and noticed something. "Inscriptions."
Tanya whipped away the dust and revealed writing on the coffin.
"There is a riddle we must solve."
"Oh God, I suck at riddles. What is–"
Tanya pushed against one of the tiles on the wall. The tile opened like a cabinet door, and a key was inside. She took the key and opened the door.
"So, no riddle?" Francine said.
"No riddle for you."
Just before Tanya and Francine left the tomb, the sound of ceramic rubbing together came from the coffin. A corpse wrapped in bandages held a sword and screamed.
Francine turned toward Tanya and frowned.
"Shang Tsung should pay us for these missions."
