Chapter 8: The Allegheny Observatory Trip

The next day, we all met at Nicky's Thai Kitchen prior to a tour around the Allegheny Observatory. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We jammed out to NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Kate Bush, and Lizzo prior to our evening out. "This chicken teriyaki is very good," Carly pointed out. "Is that something new that I could have learned to cook back in middle school?" "Yes, definitely," Mr. Benson replied. "I could have also cooked pad thai noodles back then." "Even though the weather is not that great, I still did not want to cancel the trip because I have been looking forward to showing you guys the Allegheny Observatory," Alex stated. "I remember going star gazing during the spring of 2010 my junior year and I visited the Allegheny Observatory back in April of 2016 when the weather was absolutely perfect." "Astronomy is a good subject to major in, but it cannot beat music," Justin happily stated. "I agree with you," Max happily agreed. "I am especially happy that you guys have this job," I told Alex. "Even though we missed riding rides with you that day at Kennywood, at the end of the day, you totally deserved that position and we got to have our usual special day the following weekend!" Once we finished our dinner, we headed over to the Allegheny Observatory for our tour. "It is often said that romance happens under the stars," James stated. "That is how I met up with Betsy at the school dance in high school." "I had my Boy Scouts meeting that day," Henri stated. "Some of the smartest students attend the University of Pittsburgh, even though I attended Carnegie Mellon University," Sarah pointed out. "I could still never forget that day when Nathan cheated off of my exam and blamed me for cheating." "I know it is not good to deal with a situation like that," I told my female friend. We learned all about the important people who discovered the Earth and stars and all the different constellations in the sky, in addition to looking through a telescope at the bright lights of Pittsburgh. Once our tour was over, it was time for all of us to go home. "Thanks for a great evening, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
