I turned to Harry, shocked. He said he hadn't entered, so why had his name come out? Had he lied? No, surely not, that wasn't like him. Everyone was staring at him now.

"I didn't put my name in," Harry said blankly. "You know I didn't"

At the top table, Professor Dumbledore had straightened up, nodding to Professor McGonagall.

"Harry Potter!" he called again. "Harry! Up here, if you please!"

"Go on," Hermione whispered, giving Harry a slight push.

Harry made his way very awkwardly up to the top table, then through the door out of the Great Hall. Immediately afterwards the hall exploded into noise, most people expressing outrage at the supposed unfairness of it all, especially those from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. The Gryffindor table however, was almost entirely buzzing with excitement.

"I knew he'd somehow find a way in!" said Fred

"How the bloody hell did he do it though?" said George

"He's Harry Potter, he can do anything!" Colin told them, as if this was a satisfactory answer. The only people who weren't smiling were myself, Demelza, Amy, who thankfully seemed to find this situation just as troublesome as I did, Neville, Hermione, who was chewing her lip in thought, and Ron. Ron suddenly got up and strode very angrily out of the hall, but since everyone was busy talking, almost no-one noticed this.

"Ron, where are you going?" Hermione called after him, but he didn't turn around.

"You believe Harry right?" I asked her

"Of course, I do, why wouldn't I? If Harry said he didn't put his name in, then of course he didn't! The question everyone should be asking is who did so and why?" she said.

Before any of us could answer though, Dumbledore caused some explosions from the end of his wand and the hall fell silent.

"All students will return to their common rooms at once" he said. "This is a highly unusual and unexpected occurrence which we will deal with."

As everyone walked out of the hall, I noticed the staff heading through the door that Harry had walked through. I fell in line with Demelza and Amy, and the latter moved to Hermione's side right away.

"God I hope she comes round soon" I muttered

"She will mate, in time" said Demelza "Anyway, I think it's obvious why Harry's name was put in. This is an extremely dangerous tournament. Someone is clearly hoping Harry will be killed by one of the tasks, and if he's forced to compete, that is a serious possibility, especially as the tasks were designed for sixth and seventh years. Krum, Delacour and Diggory will have 3 years of additional education on their side. As for who did it, well, it could have been anyone, but my money's on a Slytherin"

"Malfoy" I said at once. "I bet he'll love the sight of Harry getting in those mortal situations!" I said bitterly

"I don't think so mate" Demelza replied "Malfoy hates Harry of course, but I doubt he would actually try and get him killed. I think he's more likely to be jealous and angry that he couldn't get in himself. Lillian Avery on the other hand..."

"Certainly would!" I finished "we've already seen she's not afraid to attempt murder, and seeing as I narrowly survived, she's probably thinking the next best thing is my boyfriend! It would definitely please her future master too!"

"Yes, but there's no proof, so please don't go and attack Avery for this, you'll only get yourself into more trouble, and you really don't need that at the moment do you!"

"How did you know I was-"

"Ginny, you're my best mate!" Demelza interrupted, laughing. "Practically my sister! I know you like the back of my hand. Look, as much as we have good reasons to suspect her, we can't go and teach her a lesson for something we don't know for sure she's done yet!"

"Yeah I suppose you're right" I conceded "but you're not stopping me slipping her and her 3 sidekick bitches some of those toffees"

Demelza sighed and rolled her eyes.

That night, there was a massive party in the Gryffindor Common Room, and despite the best efforts of Hermione, Demelza and I to persuade people that Harry didn't put his name in the Goblet, it continued, and it took Harry a very long time to get past everyone and go to bed. The next morning at breakfast however, I noticed Ron sitting with Hermione. I walked over to them, and I noticed that Hermione looked rather awkward when I sat down. She grabbed a stack of toast and said "I'm going for a walk".

"Why did you storm out of the hall last night?" I asked Ron

"Isn't it obvious?" he replied in a rather rude manner

"Umm, no?" I said, "and there's no need to take that tone with me"

"Go and ask your boyfriend"

"What's Harry done wrong?"

"Ginny, stop acting oblivious. You were here last night, you saw what happened"

I was confused.

"Yeah of course I did, someone put Harry's name in the Goblet" I said

"No, Harry put his name in the Goblet"

Now a terrible realisation hit me, and now I understood why Hermione had been uncomfortable. Clearly she had left to avoid witnessing a very similar argument to one she'd had with him before I came in.

"Wait, Ron, no way" I covered my face with my hands and slowly dragged them down from the top to the bottom. "You're not seriously telling me you think Harry put his name in are you?"

"Course I do. He clearly did, and I don't know why he's lying about it. I'm his best mate, you'd think he'd tell me the truth"

"He is telling the truth!"

"Really, first Hermione, now you?! Look, I know you love him and all Ginny but you can't honestly defend someone when they lie to their best mate!"

"He's not lying, Ron, what the fuck is wrong with you?! How can you possibly believe that?!" I shouted, and now the whole hall was watching us, as we'd both stood up.

Ron looked like he was about to explode

"Oh you know what, I can't be arsed, stay away from me Ginny! Harry gets everything, all the attention, and I always get fuck all, I've had enough of him being the great and popular, high and mighty guy and I'm just the dumb sidekick! As soon as it should become obvious to you all, you choose to gang up on me instead, I should have known!"

"Ron, we're not-"

"Shut the fuck up Ginny!"

And he stormed away again.
