Arizona's back collided with the cool tiles, she was firmly pinned against the shower wall, her only support being two strong orthopaedic arms and a fucking amazing thigh pressed between her legs. She was panting as Callie caressed her ear, neck and jaw, she could taste her own salty sweat as it mixed with the water cascading. She could barely keep her eyes open, her body's strength completely evading her.
Callie was in her, two fingers bringing unbridled pleasure, a thumb gently stroking her clit whilst her other hand was busy raking nails up and down a pale left thigh, sensations she knew drove Arizona insane. The blonde was experiencing ecstasy, she could barely get more than one syllable out at a time, the panting, groaning and whimpering rendering it near impossible.
"Cal- don't- stop- good- more- FUCK."
Callie smiled against Arizona's jaw as she continued to thrust her fingers in and out of her lover whilst applying the added leverage of her rhythmic hips at the same time. The extra pressure increased Arizona's bliss, she loved at how her girlfriend's hips were skilfully moving between her thighs.
"Don't- st- Callie- mmfp- frfff- rrmg-"
The smile changed to a complete shit eating grin. "Say that again honey."
"Mmfp- mmm- uumf-"
Yep, Callie was literally fucking her senseless.
"You're gonna have to try harder my love, you-"
"St- stop!"
Shit. At that, Callie stopped instantly, eyes widened with fear as she slowly withdrew her fingers so as not to cause the blonde discomfort. Was she hurting her? Was she no longer enjoying it? After finding the strength to open her eyes, Arizona noticed the look of sheer panic on her girlfriend's face. In an attempt to quickly reassure her, she grabbed Callie's cheeks and forcibly pulled her head to meet her gaze, still panting. "Look… look at me."
Callie did as instructed but her sullen expression broke Arizona's heart, when she told her to stop, this was not what she had in mind. She softly stroked both temples with each thumb, an act that calmed the brunette down instantly. She didn't know why Arizona wanted her to stop but it didn't appear it was because she was in pain or it was potentially no longer consensual. "I- I'm sor-"
Arizona leant in and whispered against her lips. "No no don't apologise, I didn't mean it like, what I meant was, I… I need you to breathe on me Calliope."
Slightly confused. "What?"
"Just… I need you to breathe on me, let me know this is real, that you're here." She removed her right hand from Callie's cheek and started to gently stroke her hair, the water continued to fall around them. Her gaze was intense, she instinctively leant her forehead against Callie's and her left hand made its way to the small scar on Callie's chest. "Please tell me this is real, that you're here."
She wasn't sure why Arizona's insecurities were coming to the forefront now, but Callie wasn't going to question it whilst she seemed so vulnerable. "I- I'm here Arizona, I'll always be here." She managed to place her own hand on top of Arizona's.
Arizona didn't move her head. "I am so, so in love you Calliope. Sometimes I just need to remember that this is my life, you and Sof, we're a family again. I spent days and nights for months and months feeling nothing but apathy and pain. Now I have you here, making me feel alive, loved and- and sometimes I…" She trailed off.
Callie squeezed the hand under hers. "I'm so in love with you too, you are my happy place, my soul, my home. We've had our blips but we're here, together, forever." She lifted her head enough to place a soft kiss on her cheek. "I love you Arizona."
It was just above a whisper. "Show me."
They simultaneously raised their heads so their eyes were mere centimetres apart. Callie's focus didn't deviate from Arizona as she slowed down to comply with her request. She continued to thrust herself into Arizona but it was slower, more sensual and the blonde was matching her movements with her own hips, taking Callie in as deep as possible. A third finger was added and pale legs parted even further to allow better access.
"Calliope…"
She could feel her girlfriend's walls tighten, her body on the brink of convulsion. Callie brought her in for a delicate kiss before giving her permission to come completely undone. "Arizona, you're perfect, I'm yours, let go."
And she did, her orgasm crept up and she cried Callie's name as she climaxed, she felt her own warm pleasure trickle down her legs as she lost herself in the aftershocks. Her body became void of strength, her head was now laying on Callie's shoulder with her arms, body and legs all hanging limply. If she moved, Arizona would have ended up a puddle on the floor.
She slowly came around and managed to lift her head, Callie still hadn't taken her eyes off her. "That- that was intense, so erotic Calliope." She grabbed her by the neck and pulled her in for a gentle kiss. "Thank you."
The loving moment was broken by Callie's loud snort. "Err, I can honestly say Dr Robbins, you are more than welcome." They gave each other a content smile and continued to make love until the water ran cold.
Leaving Arizona to get ready 15 minutes later, Callie snuck a quick peek into Sofia's room. Thankfully, the littlest Torres was still fully fixated on her book with her headphones firmly in place, no doubt listening to Taylor Swift. Callie rolled her eyes, she'd never admit it, but Arizona and her daughter might be turning her into a Swiftie. Although she'd deny it till her dying day. She took a moment to admire their daughter, she was kind and compassionate, she shared her toys, she was confident, brave, loyal… and she couldn't help but think one day she'll be the best big sister ever.
Callie stepped back into their room and started to get ready. Both women dressed in semi-casual wear; simple, smart jeans with Arizona in a red buttoned-up blouse and Callie in a black off-the-shoulder jumper, much to the blonde's dismay. Their friends were used to seeing her girlfriend in a top, scrubs and a lab coat; she wasn't sure she liked the thought of them seeing her perfect clavicle.
As if she could read her mind, Callie arched an eyebrow. "No one is going to be staring at me Arizona, not if I'm next to you. One, you'll hurt them and two, you're even more hot."
She scoffed at the last remark. "Mmm, well, if Karev eye's deviate just once from your face, we're gonna have issues." The look on her face let Callie know she was deadly serious.
Outfits, make-up, perfume and jewellery on, they made their way to the door ready to enjoy a social evening with their friends. It had only taken five minutes to get their daughter ready, the promise of playtime with Zola ensured complete compliance. Arizona grabbed her hand as they made their way to the car. "Ready baby girl?" Her answer came by way of an excited nod as she skipped towards the vehicle.
Callie laughed at the sight of their daughter dragging Arizona along as she closed the door and locked up. Before following her girls, she snuck one final look into her bag.
It was still there.
Now she was ready, she turned and announced to the world. "Right, let's get my girls to the party!"
xxxxxxxxxx
Meredith Grey never did need a reason to throw a party, they just became more sophisticated over the years. Owen offered to be on kid watch for this one, he had the three Shepherds and Harriett hauled up in Meredith's room with his guitar and snacks, Sofia and Pru would be joining the fun when they arrived. Owen Hunt was a good friend, a good doctor and a good parent; Arizona would say good husband too.
April, Teddy, Cristina and Amelia on the other hand were huddled together in the living room making small talk, their eyes occasionally drifting towards the front door. The redhead broke the silence as she took a sip of whatever lethal alcoholic concoction the twisted sisters had created. "Tonight's the night, right? First display of public affection?"
Amelia swooshed the water in her glass as she surveyed her friends. "Please don't tell me you're going to be stalking them all night?"
Cristina's patience was wavering. "FIVE MONTHS. It's been five frickin' months since this all started and they've not shown one ounce of public affection. They were always kissing, fondling, making out, having sex in the hospital before, now all we get is the odd glance, playful shove, a hug, I haven't even seen them hold hands. Altman, can you push Arizona to do something so everyone can see?"
Meredith joined the group. "Callie said they were back together, but I've not seen them be anything other than professional. I mean if you didn't know they were Callie and Arizona, you wouldn't know."
Teddy nodded in agreement. "I also think they know about the sweepstake."
Cristina stopped mid-sip. "What do you mean?"
"Well Arizona keeps asking why everyone was so invested in their sex life. I think she's also clocked the stares, general overall odd behaviour… and then there was that comment from Karev."
April piped up. "What comment was that?"
"When he figured out they'd had sex the night before, he noted the date, said 'Yang is so toast' then threw a patient her way when she asked him about it."
"Frickin' evil spawn, so that's the reason they're holding out on us?" Cristina was fuming. "He's out the game, I-"
The host hadn't taken her eyes off the door despite this potential hiccup. "Oh oh! Heads up, they're here, and they're here together."
Callie, Arizona and Sofia walked through the door after Richard welcomed them in. Arizona had to take brief pause, one of the last times she was here it had been… chaotic. She had been extra chaotic. Callie may have picked a perfect, pretty Penny at the time but she now had an amazing, awesome Arizona, who wasn't letting her go. Teddy studied her from across the room and wondered why her friend's face suddenly became smug.
Callie turned and indicated upstairs. "Mer said Hunt and the kids will be enjoying a guitar session in her room, I'm gonna take Sof up, grab me a drink?" She was about to lean in for a kiss when she noticed their friends staring at them. The hesitation in her movement forced Arizona to follow her gaze and yep, each head snapped in unison to look anywhere but the couple.
Oh hell no, this stops now!
Arizona made an intense beeline to her friend but was slowed down when a glass of wine was handed to her, almost in a… truce? She was absolutely going to get to the bottom of this tonight. They exchanged brief niceties and after quickly surveying the blonde, Teddy rolled her eyes. "Really Arizona? What, like 30 minutes ago?"
"What?"
Teddy leant in with a hushed whisper. "You had sex with Callie."
The blonde turned her head to see if anyone heard the statement. "What?! No I didn't." Her 'no I didn't' face told a thousand lies, and she knew it.
Another eye roll. "You so did. Let me guess, Sofia was nicely preoccupied with some random cartoon you shoved on, one of you got into the shower, the other followed, and then you came here, all, sex-faced."
"THEODORA!" And there was the wry smile. "Maaaaaybe…". Dimples.
Admittedly, Teddy had started to feel extremely uncomfortable in pressuring her friend to confirm their relationship. It wasn't her style, she semi-regretted being in on the bet but she got caught up in the excitement of their reconciliation. Every single one of them was incredibly happy the pair had found their way back together and it was contagious.
She decided to be gentle, rather than forceful. "Are you afraid people will judge? Is that why you're keeping it hidden and not showing it publicly? We're all rooting for you guys, you know that?"
Arizona had wondered if their reconciliation would be met with comments such as 'not again', 'it won't work out' etc, maybe subconsciously that's why she was a little apprehensive of bursting their little bubble. She was still irked at the treatment they'd been receiving though. "If you all know it then why do we have to 'come out'? We're adults, surgeons, not horny little teenagers with crushes." Her eyes narrowed. "Why is everyone so interested in Callie and I? We've both seen you all staring, you kept asking if we'd had sex and now we're onto showing affection in public, what's going on?"
"It's just… you're having sex and-"
"You're having sex too! Who's to say what Callie and I have is any different to whatever you've got going on with Owen? Can't you show public affection?" Truth be told, no one knew what was going on between Teddy and Owen, least of all Teddy and Owen.
Teddy sighed, she knew the jig was up but she didn't want to ruin the party, she would tell her friend tomorrow and wait for the justified fallout. "You're right, I'm sorry Arizona, I'm gonna go join Owen and the kids." She gave her a warm smile as she turned to leave.
Dammit, fine, she'll get it out of her next time then. She wasn't mad, she could tell Teddy had something on her mind but clearly this wasn't the time or place. She called out as her friend made her way towards the stairs. "Don't corrupt my daughter, Altman."
As Teddy went up, Callie came down, but before she could get to Arizona she was accosted. "What the hell is going on?"
Callie jumped so high she thought she'd almost died. "Grey, I swear to god."
"You walk in with Arizona, go to kiss her and then you pull away. What gives?"
Callie seriously thought everyone had gone mad. "You know what, Arizona said you were all up to something, what's going on? Why is everyone obsessed with us? We're adults you know, we love each other and want to be together. If you don't like it, then-"
"No Callie, we love it, that's the point. We want you to feel comfortable. No one is judging." She placed a hand on her shoulder to placate the very wound-up brunette. "All I'm saying is, it's okay to hold hands or you know, hug or kiss or whatever round the hospital." Like Teddy, Meredith had started to feel the guilt, it was all good natured but their bet was clearly starting to rile the pair, and the last thing anyone wanted was for their actions to have a disastrous impact. She decided at that point to tell Callie about the bet the following day. However, a little teasing was always fair game. "I mean you obviously had sex before you came here, you look all satisfied and relaxed."
"Want to say it louder Mer? I don't think next door heard you!" Callie still couldn't get her head around it. "Why is everyone obsessed with us?"
If you got one, you got the other. "Your love brings us joy."
Callie's first eyeroll of the evening. "Okay, sure, shut up Yang."
Before Cristina could offer a retort, they were interrupted. "Callie, may I have a word with you outside?"
Saved by a perky peds surgeon. "Err yeah sure of course." She turned her attention back to her friends. "Excuse me."
Meredith sighed as Cristina took a swig. "Bitches."
Once outside, the pair took a seat on the porch, taking up somewhat of a blind spot. They didn't know whether to feel confusion, frustration, love, happiness or all of the above. Arizona was first to broach the subject. "Something is definitely going on, I'm 100% sure of it now."
"Grey said it was okay for us to show our love, and I know it's bullshit because Cristina said our love 'brought her joy', when did anything other than surgery bring Cristina Yang joy?"
Both confidants said everyone was pleased for them and supported their decision to get back together. But their whole life at Grey Sloan had been scrutinised under a microscope, we're talking nearly 10 years, what was wrong with them keeping their affection private? Anyway, they certainly were not going to do anything until they got some answers.
But the hesitancy of public affection was restricted solely to the hospital.
Arizona leant in and whispered into Callie's ear. "You know what I think would be hot?"
"Mmm…?"
"What if we show a little bit of 'public affection' here on the porch? Whatever they have going on in there, they will have no idea, they'll be none the wiser, it'll be our little secret."
"I like your thinking Dr Robbins."
Arizona placed a delicate kiss against the nape of Callie's neck and jaw, taking get pleasure in the reaction it elicited. The brunette giggled as Arizona's kisses became more exaggerated and started to wander all over her cheeks, mouth, nose and face. They were enjoying their little game, taking pleasure in their (not so) secret tokens of love.
Unbeknownst to them however, they had been spotted.
"Mmm hmm, score one for the Chief." Bailey turned her attention back to the door as she noted the lovebirds tucked round the corner. Deciding to let them enjoy their moment, she knocked and entered with Ben and Pru, offering no further comment.
As they sat blissfully unaware with Arizona's head on her shoulder, Callie was lost in thought. When she took Sofia upstairs she'd asked Owen if he was okay to maybe keep her entertained for a bit longer if needed. She didn't think her plan would take more than an hour, and they had accounted for the party being two, but she needed that safety net. He obliged of course and wished her well on whatever required both her and Arizona to leave the party early. She'd given Sofia a quick kiss before she left but her request to be good for Owen and that she'll see her soon was barely acknowledged, her daughter was far too invested making friendship bracelets. Yeah, she's a Swiftie.
After a short time had passed, Callie shuffled slightly and Arizona lifted her head, tired blue orbs looked lovingly into brown.
She stood up and reached for her girlfriend's hand. "Can I take you somewhere?"
Arizona gave her a blissful smile and nodded, she would go anywhere with Callie. "Of course my love, lead the way."
