Rai-Hello! Such great questions and I promise they will be answered later down the road (I don't want to spoil to much lol) As for the Denali, I like to think so..well ya I wrote it that way lol so I guess the answer is yes, they do like Mare. I'm really happy that you liked that last chapter and aren't to mad about he cliffhanger, I really like writing them lol but I always try to update quickly after them lol, not usually this quickly but what can I say it's my gift to YOU!

Bright Anarchy- I need you to get out of my head right now, because literally as I was finishing up some future chapters I came to look at the reviews and literally just typed out everything you said...wow. I bow to you! Thank you so much for the sweet words about my Volturi portrayal, I was and am still really nervous about it. I think I not only read everything with them but also watched the movie scenes like 600 times and I still feel like I don't have them right but you are right, they are deffinetly not a happy get a long family, and I agree with you 100%! Thank you so much for the wonderful and kind review, it really made my night!
AlexisHard-THANK YOU! I was honestly really, really worried about the Volturi, although I actually still am lol, even though they're not my favorite they still deserve to justice and to be portrayed to the best of my ability! Hopefully this will answer some questions about how in the world this is going to resolve it's self. It's a short little chapter with some background but I really hope you enjoy it anyway as more is to come this weekend. THANK YOU SO MUCH for wishing my a good birthday! I really appreciate it and send you love and greetings back!
TELL HIM!
The room erupts in chaos. The air takes on a strange sort of energy, it reminds me of a thunderstorm. Aro, who was in front of me suddenly disappears and before I can turn or even think about running, my body is seized and I feel weightless as if flying through the room. That stops when abruptly my back is thrust against stone, my head makes impact with the surface creating a sickening crack. My ears start ringing and my mouth fills with saliva. Everything around me is a weird black blur. My feet feel like they're on the ground but I don't feel my shoes and even more concerning is the wet slick feeling in my sock, I think I've opened my stitches although now that I think of it, death is more concerning than my reopened wound.
"Stay still." A voice not immediately recognizable to me whispers.
"What?" Hands push too harshly on my shoulders but lighten when I lift my hand to scratch at my ear. The ringing lightens and I hear the sounds around me, grunting and shouting, I swear I even hear an zapping sound. I swallow when my mouth fills up again and wince at the metallic taste. I blink a few times, the black blur begins to take shape, a tailored jacket, pale skin, and dark hair. It's Demetri holding me instead of a member of my own family,
"What's happening?" I try to peak around him,
"I said, stay still." I hear the unmistakable sound of Emmett grunting, it sounds like he's in pain. I try to wiggle out of Demetri's arms, but they just tighten, pushing hard against my skin,
"That hurts," I whisper and immediately his fingers loosen. He takes a second to look behind him and I take the same opportunity and find the sounds give way to the scene, it's chaos. Bodies in black and various shades of color fly across the room. Emmett's on the floor his limbs twisted in unnatural angles. Rose's not far behind him, her hands wrist deep in another blonde woman's hair, she looks up just as Jasper's body flies across her as if thrown by another force. I open my mouth to shout her name but again my mouth is full and I feel like I'm choking. Demetri turns, again blocking my view, and frowns. I cough, sending splatters of my spit, both at him and down the front of my blouse..how embarrassing, until I realize it's not spit, but blood. I must have bit my tongue. Demetri's eyes are wide and I feel my heart speed up, the blood in my sock is fine, but the blood droplets on an actual human blood-sucking vampire...
"Eleazar!" Carlisle's voice shouts, the chaos behind Demetri doesn't quite exactly, but it does seem to still a little,
"Move Demetri." Aro's voice demands and I see Demetri's face waver a bit before his grip loosens, he pushes my back against the wall as if silently telling me to stay and then moves. Aro's milky red eyes are burrowed into mine, his steps calculated as he takes up the space previously owned by Demetri,
"Eleazar!" Carlisle's voice cuts through the air again,
"Take heart young one," Aro's arms reach up, his cold stone hands coming to rest against both my temples. He looks down at my shirt, noticing the blood, and cocking his head to the side for just a second, "None of this is your fault."
"Eleazar, tell him!" Carlisle shouts,
"Now, Eleazar!" Edward's voice follows just as Aros's hands tighten, the pressure in my head suddenly annoyingly alarming. I reach up grabbing the sleeves of his cloak,
"Aro!" Eleazar's voice cuts through the force, "Aro, you can't do this," Aro seems to be listening, but his eyes remain on mine, "Aro, she's gifted, that child is gifted!"
…
Three Weeks Earlier
"You're sure about this?" Carlisle asks, his back bent to allow his elbows to rest on his knees,
"I can't truly say, but I'm most sure." Eleazar frowns, his eyes towards the window, his gaze watching the young human girl sit around the table with both members of the Olympic coven and his own, the Denali. They seem to be..watching her eat, how fascinating.
"She's noticing you staring." Carlisle asserts, gaining Eleazar's attention,
"I can not, this...I've never seen anything like this before." Carlisle turns to look at the scene and smiles, Esme's worked so hard and it seems to have paid off,
"Alice, Edward, and Jasper have confided in me of these short spurts of time where it seems like their abilities aren't there anymore." Eleazar nods, he's noticed,
"It's a very scary feeling, it's a testament to how much they care for her based on the fact they're still so physically close to her." Carlisle lifts his head,
"What does it feel like?" He asks needing to understand exactly what the members of his family are feeling. Eleazar whose eyes are still glued to the window, glued to the teen behind the window frowns,
"Empty, it's like a part of you is gone, it is equivalent to a feeling of hopelessness." Carlisle nods,
"They don't feel like that all the time, correct?" He asks worriedly. Eleazar shakes his head and Carlisle feels the tension in his body loosen,
"Only while it's happening and as I said it's always very short spurs," Carlisle takes an unnecessarily deep breath,
"You say she can't control it?"
"She's completely unaware that she's doing it, if the others didn't tell her she would have no idea."
"Eleazar, I've never heard of this." Eleazar purses his lips in frustration because he hasn't either. Years of being the Volturi lap dog, running around to secure only the rarest of gifts for them, and he's never seen anything like this,
"Carlisle I can't lie, it's frightening, to think that she could be the only one, to think that..." he starts slowly the thought he's about to say frightens him, "Is she could be changed...the things she could do with this gift-"
"She can't be changed Eleazar I told you." Carlisle cuts him off, defending the young girl currently sitting in his home converging with the other members of his family,
"I know, but if she could," Eleazar turns to Carlisle his gaze hard, "If Aro declares that she isn't allowed to live this might be the one thing that changes his mind." The thought freezes Carlisle to his seat. The thought that Aro might sentence the young girl to die...she's only 14, Carlisle hasn't gotten the chance to give her the things she deserves, the things she should want...he hasn't gotten the chance to call her his...
"Do you believe this to be true?" Eleazar not only nods, but he nods with purpose,
"You and I both know how the Volturi operate, if Aro decides she lives but Marcus and Caius don't, he'll stand with them and sentence her to death, but if she has a gift that could potentially be useful...he'll go against them." Carlisle looks away, "Will the man who bit her attest to the ineffectivness of her blood?"
"Garrett?" Carlisle sighs, "I think it best to keep him out of this." Eleazar nods,
"It seems best that way?"
"Will you come to Volterra with us?" Eleazar frowns, Carlisle doesn't have to ask this, he's done so much for him and the Denali that the man would do anything for him,
"Carmen and I will go with you tomorrow, and when you go back we will accompany you, the others...it will take some convincing with their history, but I will do my best to persuade them to come." Carlisle nods,
"Thank you, old friend, I don't know how to show my appreciation." Eleazar frowns again,
"You don't have to," Carlisle shakes his head,
"I do, Mare...she's special to us, I feel abominable for asking this of you-"
"Carlisle," It's Eleazar's turn to cut the man off, "If she's special to you, she's special to us," Eleazar's voice is strong and steady, "We will walk this journey with you," Carlisle nods, his face betraying just the amount of gratitude he feels towards this man. Carefully he stands with his hand outstretched. Eleazar gets to his feet, grabbing his friend's hand only to be surprised when Carlisle uses his other hand to grip Eleazar's wrist tightly,
"Thank you, I really don't have to words to-"
"Carlisle, it is what friends do." Carlisle smiles, before letting the man's hand go and turning towards the window,
"I'll tell her later, for now..I want her to enjoy the night." Eleazar follows his gaze,
"I will tell Carmen later, so we can prepare." Carlisle smiles watching the teen grab seconds, he turns to his wife who looks probably the happiest out of anyone at the table. He refuses to take this happiness away from her, away from Mare, this is his family and he'll die before it's allowed to be broken.
