Burning- Ume

For some reason Ume was the unluckiest person in the world, right after her brother. At least she didn't look it. her appearance was her pride, it was what she thought of when she thought of all she had achieved, she was the prettiest girl around. Her beauty was unmatched. Maybe that's why they choice to burn it away.

Her brother was out at work when it happened. What bad luck. She first noticed her own boss walk in, Ume had no reason to fear her. That woman may have been annoying, but she had never truly hurt Ume before. It was only when the Samurai from earlier followed behind her that Ume understood what danger she was in. First thing Ume tried backing up but that wasn't going to work forever. Both of them came at her. They managed to grab onto an arm each, and she couldn't do anything but struggle. So that's what she did.

They managed to grab her. That was when she really started getting scared. So, she screamed, but nobody came. She kicked but they never gave up. she even cried but they clearly had no ounce of empathy. Not having anyone but Gyutaro, she called for him but there was no way he could hear her. She had already been tied up by then. That's when she noticed the match. There was no way they would really, would they? She saw the Samurai bring it up to her, smiling, as she struggled on the floor. He dropped it. within seconds she was on fire, feeling herself burn up. flames spreading all across her flesh. she hadn't felt anything like it. it hurt all over, the fire went deep into her skin. And it didn't stop. It even started torching up her eyes too till she couldn't see a thing. She could smell herself burning too, like cooking meat, and her hair too, she smelt it turning to ash along with her skin. She felt her skin burning away until there wasn't much left of it.

Someone must have heard her screams of agony by now, where they just ignoring her? Why did no one help her? She'd never done anything to them. Her life was flashing before her eyes now, all the people she'd know, all the long hours working just to get by, even the few moments she'd felt like she was on top of the world, all of it. did this mean she was about to die? There was no way she deserved this. At least not a murder this painful. She could feel the disturbing feeling of wind on her bones as her skin turned to cinders. She was burning away.

Gyutaro strolled through the streets, making his way back home to his little sister, food in hand. Really, he should have known something was wrong. he smelt it before he saw it, the smell of burnt meat, but he didn't question it, maybe someone had burnt their dinner? Honestly, he didn't think too much of it. Throwing open the door was when he first noticed it. there was his sister. Not much more than a pile of ash on the floor.
