Teeth- Mitsuri
Mitsuri was often told that if she kept eating so many sweets then her teeth would decay. She didn't really listen, of course she cleaned them, but she just couldn't hole back her appetite. It never really was much of a problem, her teeth seemed fine.
Or they were until she got in a fairly bad battle. She was fighting a demon, and she thought she was winning. Until the demon managed to hit her jaw, she did swing back and managed to slice his head off with her sword, but the pain was immeasurable. It felt like her whole jaw was shaking, like she could hear her own skull twitching. She'd never experienced anything like it. feeling like her head was going to explode and minute, she had to hold onto her jaw, maybe to stop it falling off because she really felt like it would. Now she wanted to throw up. and now her mouth had gone numb.
Screaming she noticed that blood came pouring out her mouth. Spilling all over her hand and the ground under her. The amount wasn't massive compared to the amount she had seen other slayers lose in battle, but it was still enough to scare her. Not even her scream felt right, blood poured down the back of her throat and nearly choked her. All that came out of her was a messy attempt. She couldn't breathe. All she could think to do was put her hand over her mouth, maybe to try and stop the blood flow? That's when she felt something in her hand. It was white and very small, like a tiny bead. She touched it, it was like rock.
Horror dawned on her as she reached back up to her mouth. She felt around with tongue. There was a gap. It was a tooth, that was what she was holding. She didn't want to believe it at first but that's what it was. Could it be repaired? She hoped so. Now her mouth felt almost empty, like it was missing her tooth. All the pain in her gums came to her at once, must have been a delayed reaction or something. Honestly, she could swear that the tooth, even though it wasn't part of her anymore, was in pain. Like where her tooth should have been was just a gap of pain.
As she felt about her mouth with her tongue, she felt other teeth wobble, not quite falling out yet but they were close, these were her adult teeth. Once they were gone there was no going back. one dropped out. not the full tooth but about half of it. which was just as terrifying to her. It landed in her palm which was now a bloody mess of broken teeth and blood. All her tongue felt was cracks in where her teeth should have been. and her gums which felt wrong to touch but also so soft. It made her want to scream.
Her smile would never be the same again.
