The Camera fades into a pretty blue lake, the sun just over the horizon. Birds flew in the almost cloudless sky. The camera pans over to reveal an island all too familiar. The iconic dock with the large sign reading "CAMP WAWANAKWA," the two thousand foot high cliff, the two greasy looking cabins and the mess hall are all too visible. The camera pans closer. The end of the dock in view, until the camera was rudely interrupted by a voice, the one and only voice of: Chris Mclean.
"Yo!" Chris McLean's voice boomed as the camera zoomed out to reveal him standing at the end of the dock with his signature smug grin. "That's right, folks, we're back at Camp Wawanakwa for yet another season of your favorite reality show!"
Chris started walking down the dock, the camera following closely behind. "This season, we've got fourteen fresh faces, ready to brave the wilderness, face their fears, and maybe even make a few friends—or enemies. I really don't care, haha!"
He stopped, turning to face the camera with a dramatic pause. "Let's kick things off, shall we? Welcome to Total Drama ISLAND!
The camera flashed out to reveal the entire glorious island at that last bit, a yacht pulling up to the dock before the camera faded out.
Camera fades out.
Intro Plays:
Camera fades in.
Chris eyes the yacht as it blows a massive horn. "We've stuffed our new competitors inside this luxurious yacht. But they have no idea what's in store for them!"
The yacht blows the horn again, causing Chris to wince. "On that note, let's introduce our first contestant: Welcome, Jack!"
Jack smiles, and jumps off the deck of the yacht, not even using the ladder , as if trying to show off. He wears a simple white tank top and black elastic shorts. He also wears flip flops. He somehow lands on his feet. And walks over to Chris, giving him a high five.
"Hey there, Chris! Ready to see what a real competitor looks like?" Jack asks cockily. "Cause you ain't seen nothin' yet!" Jack flexes his admittingly impressive bicep. But Chris still can't help but roll his eyes.
"Okay, then, you stand at the edge of the dock." Chris says. And Jack nods and strides to the end of the dock, where he gives a thumbs up. "Our next contestant is: Starr!"
The camera shifts to the arrival of Starr, who steps off the yacht and smiles brightly, showing a mouth full of teeth so white they almost look fake. She's dressed in a glittery, deep purple jacket with a black star on the front. She also sports a black sequined skirt and silver sneakers.
"Hey, Chris!" Starr greets cheerfully as she shakes the hosts hand. "Pleasure to be here." "Welcome to the island. Are you ready to rock this competition?" Chris grins as he mocks her appearance.
Starr raises an eyebrow, then looks around. "I'm gonna try hard to not take offense to that. You do know I'm not an actual singer, right? I just really love listening to music."
Starr takes an mp3 and headphones out of her pocket as she walks to the end of the dock with Jack.
Chris eyes the two, then looks back at the camera, "Alright, our 3rd contestant is: Logan!"
Logan uses the ladder and steps off onto the dock, he's slightly shorter than the other two, darker skinned, and wears a simple red t-shirt and jeans. With some brown sneakers. He looks down as he walks. "Yo, Chris." Logan greets casually, giving a nod to Starr and Jack as he joins them at the end of the dock.
Chris looks back and scratches his stubble. "Not gonna focus on me, huh, well okay then…. welcome in… Andrea!"
The camera shifts to the arrival of Andrea, who steps off the yacht with a confident smile, Andrea wears a green tank top with black leggings. Topped off with some black sneakers. She clearly goes to the gym, maybe even lived there, from how big her muscles looked. Jack stared intently at her as she walked down the dock.
"Hey, everyone," Andrea says with a dismissive wave towards Chris and the others, she whipped out her phone and started texting.
"Yeah, I'm gonna need that." Chris said in a much more serious tone. Andrea looked up with a fiery glare that even made Chris recoil back. But he quickly shakes his mild fear off.
Chris pulls out a cardboard box , and holds it out to Andrea. "Hey, Andrea, did you know that you signed up for a reality show? With its own contract? Wow! And In Total Drama, we don't allow contestants to have outside communication. Hand over the phone."
Andrea hesitates for a moment, a flash of frustration crossing her face before she reluctantly hands over her phone to Chris. She shoots him a look that could melt tungsten, Chris laughs uncomfortably, and puts the phone in the box. "Thanks." He coldly states.
Jack couldn't resist it any longer, he turned towards Andrea and held out his hand. "I'm Jack, you're Andre-uh. I mean, you're very…. prettyiful."
Andrea raised an eyebrow. "I think the word you're looking for is prettiful."
Jack laughs nervously. "And smart too, I see! Amazing." His hand was still held out, but Andrea didn't move to shake it. Instead, she wrinkled her nose. "Dude, you better put some deodorant on before you talk to me again."
Jack lowered his arm in embarrassment. Chris, observing the exchange with a hint of amusement, interjects, "Alright, Jack, Andrea, save the banter for the challenges. Let's keep it moving! Our next competitor is Daniel."
Daniel stood on the dock of the yacht before climbing down, seemingly watching the strange confrontation between Andrea and Jack unfold. He wears a warm smile accompanied by a tie dye t-shirt and simple tan cargo shorts. He wears sleek gray sneakers, and he sports headphones.
"Hey, everyone," Daniel greets warmly, waving to Chris, Jack, Andrea, and the others. Only Starr waved back, taking notice of his headphones. "Do you like music too?" She pressed.
Daniel nodded. "Yeah, I'm more into alternative stuff, though."
Starr nodded. "Alternative is good, too!"
"Thanks." Daniel said. And he stood by Logan, and they exchanged a confused look, with Daniel shrugging his shoulders.
"Now, our 6th camper is Olivia." Chris stated, and looked towards the dock.
The camera shifts to Olivia's arrival, stepping off the yacht with clothes so bright it could outshine the entire galaxy. She's dressed in trendy clothes, accessorized with statement jewelry and designer sunglasses.
"Hey, everyone!" Olivia greets with an arrogant smile, waving to Chris and the contestants.
Chris smiles in recognition. "Olivia, welcome to the island. I saw your glow-up TikToks, they really help enlighten the skin."
Olivia giggles, adjusting her sunglasses. "Thanks, Chris! Always great to meet a fan. I'm here to slay."
Before anybody could speak, a voice rang out from the Yacht, "Ew, did somebody just say that?" The male voice said. And the camera panned up to see a boy wearing a maroon sweater vest and brown khakis. His arms are crossed and he's scowling in disapproval. "That word is so stupid it's not even funny."
Chris glares back. "Everyone, welcome in…. Bryce.. I guess. It wasn't your turn dude, not cool."
"Oh?" Bryce said sarcastically. "Oh, sorry, dude, I'll go back inside, and we'll start again." He says in a really snooty tone.
Bryce turns on his heels and heads back towards the yacht, leaving a tense silence in his wake. The other contestants exchange awkward glances, unsure of what to make of Bryce's entrance. Chris clears his throat, regaining his composure.
"Alright, where were we?" Chris says, addressing the remaining contestants. "Ah yes, Olivia, welcome aboard. Let's keep this moving. You can come out now, since you clearly don't care about the production order."
Bryce saunters back from the yacht, an indifferent look on his face. He joins the group at the end of the dock. And nobody says a word, most of the contestants just stare, clearly confused.
Chris shrugs a confused and annoyed look off his face. "Okay….. on that note, let's introduce our 8th contestant: Jade!"
The woman in question was dressed in a punk rock ensemble, complete with a leather jacket, ripped jeans, and combat boots. Her hair is streaked with vibrant colors, arms crossed, she walks across the dock, and gives Chris a very rough looking fist bump. "Welcome to the island, Jade, I like the attitude." Chris complements.
Jade begins walking again, "It's called a winning attitude, Chris." She joins the others. Bryce scoffs, "Looks like we found the edgiest of 'em all. Looks like Hot Topic threw up on you."
Olivia laughs, causing people to look at her instead. "What?" She asks, "He's not wrong."
Jade turns back to Bryce "Better than looking like a reject from the country club," she retorts. Bryce raises an eyebrow, then smiles. "Touché." He simply says.
"Okay! Okay! Enough with all the talking! Our next contestant wanted a big entrance." Chris interrupts. "Welcome in, Zhang."
Zhang steps off dressed in a white and gold tailored designer suit with black tailored pants. His shoes are black loafers. The sunlight glints off his expensive watch as he surveys the scene with a smug grin. "Greetings." He says in a thick mandarin accent.
He strides across the dock. Taking large steps. He joins the others at the end of the dock, and immediately turns to Olivia. "Nice outfit," he comments, his tone polite. "Bright." He finishes. Olivia raises an eyebrow, "Uh, thanks. You too, I guess."
Zhang fiddles with his silver watch, "Naturally. Only the best."
Chris clapped his hands. "Alright, people, let's keep this show on the road! Our next contestant is Harmony!"
Harmony steps off the yacht cautiously. She's dressed in a sky blue blouse with short jeans. Her shoes are pink mary janes. Harmony looks around with a friendly smile.
"Hi everybody." She says shyly. And she nervously chuckles as she joins the group at the end of the dock. "Hello." Daniel greets, shaking Harmony's hand. "Pleasure to meet you."
"And now, let's welcome our 11th contestant: Tiffany!" Chris announces. The camera shifts to the yacht as Tiffany steps off. She's dressed in dark, somber clothing, with a black hoodie and jeans, her long hair is dyed black as night. Her skin is pale, and she rubs her neck awkwardly as she makes her way down the dock.
"Hi," she mutters softly, barely making eye contact with anyone.
Chris raises an eyebrow. But then smiles wide.. "Welcome to the island, Tiffany."
"Yup." Tiffany says quickly, and she joins the others. Harmony becomes concerned. "Oh my, are you alright? You look upset."
Tiffany shrugs. "I'm just tired." Bryce looks at Tiffany. "You and me both, honey."
Tiffany gives Bryce a blank stare before turning away. Harmony shoots Bryce a disapproving look but says nothing. Chris gestures back to the yacht, "Our next contestant is: Felix!"
Felix was quite short. Wearing mostly gray attire, he also had a very dirty brown baseball cap.
Felix casually steps off the yacht and waves as he walks down the dock. Stopping to face Chris McLean. "Chris, never thought I'd see you in person, man."
"Well, good for you."
Felix waves casually to the group as he walks down the dock.
"Hey, everyone," Felix greets with a friendly nod.
A few people nod back. Bryce stares uninterested, Tiffany looks at the ground, and Andrea skulks at the back of the crowd, clearly missing her phone.
"Tough crowd." Felix says, as he stands next to Logan.
Logan sighs softly. "Yeah, it seems like it." Staring at Chris, who responds with another introduction. "Alright, our next contestant is Ace!"
The camera snaps to the yacht as Ace, who's quite tall and stocky for a woman, steps off the dock of the yacht, and lands on the dock of the island with a loud thump. Her black boots and navy blue uniform give some people confused looks.
"Hey, everyone," Ace says, adjusting her sunglasses to reveal big green eyes.
"Hi!" Jack says loudly.
Logan, standing nearby, raises an eyebrow. "Nice boots."
Ace laughs, "Thanks, always appreciate compliments."
"Are you actually in the navy?" Daniel asks. Ace shakes her head. "No, but my father is. I want to be just like him."
"Haven't heard that before." Bryce interjects. Bryce squints his eyes at her. The two stare for a moment.
"Interesting choice of attire. Not exactly runway material." Olivia interrupts.
Ace shrugs, unfazed by Olivia's comment. "Fashion isn't my priority."
"Yes, we can see that, let's move along now, Chris." Bryce adds.
Ace turns towards Bryce yet again, this time less calmly. "Are you a hard person to like?" She asks, somewhat annoyed.
Bryce raises an eyebrow, unfazed by Ace's question. "I suppose that depends on your taste."
Chris steps in quickly. "Alright, alright, let's keep it civil here. We'll wait until the challenge before you start bickering. Our final camper is Hayden."
The camera shifts to the yacht as Hayden steps off. He's dressed in casual attire, with a hoodie and jeans, he wears a smooth beanie. Hayden gives a nod to the group as he joins them on the dock.
"Hey, dudes and dudettes," Hayden greets with a relaxed smile.
"Have you been crying?" Harmony asks concerningly. "Your eyes are blood red."
Hayden looks around, alarmed, but then chuckles softly, rubbing his eyes. "Nah, just allergies acting up. Must be something in the air around here."
"Yeah, sure." Bryce murmured.
Harmony studies him for a moment, still uncertain. "Well, if you ever need to talk about it…"
Hayden smiles gratefully. "Nah, but thanks, I appreciate that."
Hayden joins the other 13 teenagers at the end of the dock. Chris waves goodbye to the yacht as it departs from the island. "Okay, now that you're all here, meet me at the mess hall so things can settle in…."
The camera cuts to the mess hall, the 14 contestants sit at one table, while Chris stands at the front of the room, Chef stands behind the kitchen counter, knife in hand.
"Because I'm in a good mood today, I'm gonna cut you a break." Chris begins. "Your first challenge is a simple foot race around the island, this challenge will decide the teams for the rest of the season."
"Is that all?" Andrea interrupts. "I'm pumped."
Chris frowns, agitated by the rude interjection, "No, it's not all, there's also no elimination tonight, not that anyone probably cares."
Some contestants visibly relax at the news. But Andrea frowns. "Gee, thanks." She jeers.
"Hey, be nice!" Harmony exclaimed. "I know I'm thankful for the non-elimination, Chris."
"Don't tell me what to do." Andrea yells back at Harmony. Causing the latter to shrink back in her seat.
"Everybody's so tense right now, I personally don't get it." Hayden calmly says.
"I wonder why." Bryce adds. Causing Hayden to look back to him. "Me too…." He says, deep in thought. The camera pans over to Bryce and Logan, who look at each other in confusion.
Chris tenses up. "Enough chit-chat! You'll have plenty of that during the race, which starts: now!"
Chris blows a horn, signaling the start of the race. But nobody moves, everyone just eyes each other, scanning for any movement.
Then Andrea books it out the mess hall, causing the other 13 contestants to stand up almost in unison and try to force themselves through the mess hall doors. Which were obviously not wide enough to fit all 14 people through it at once, so all of the contestants just clumped up in the doorframe in a large heap. Felix and Andrea are at the front of the heap. Attempting to force themselves out of the mess of people.
"Ugh! Move it!" Andrea yells, grunting as she tries to strain herself through the doorway. Pinning poor Felix against her muscular body. "Hey! I can't breathe!" He yells at her, but Andrea ignores her. And she finally succeeds in getting out, Felix follows shortly after, and like a plug being removed from a drain, the crowd forces themselves out of the mess hall, and most of the new campers run in a big pack into the woods, Andrea and Felix ahead.
Meanwhile, Chris watches in amusement from the kitchen. "Ahhh, I love my job!" Chef glances at Chris, and the two exchange a friendly fistbump. "Fresh meat." Chef replied in his low gravelly voice. And the two maniacally laugh.
Back in the woods, Felix caught up to Andrea surprisingly quickly. The ladder was impressed.
"I didn't mistake you for the athletic type." Andrea said to Felix, picking up her pace. Felix looked behind him, "believe me, people usually don't. But I'm actually quite athletic."
Andrea rolled her eyes. "Great."
Felix narrowed his eyes in annoyance. "Look, I see what you're capable of, and I like it. I think you and I can go far. Nobody would suspect us working together."
"Oh yeah?" Andrea questions. "What do you bring to the table? I need something of value if we're going to work together."
"Well, you're strong," Felix begins, "And I'm smart, my dad was a mechanic, and I kinda pinked up on that." Felix pulls a wrench out of his pocket, and twirls it around in his hand. "I'm good with gadgets." He eyes the larger girl expectantly. "Ugh, I'm winded, I gotta slow down, just consider it, okay?"
Andrea thinks for a moment. But sighs, "Okay."
Felix gives Andrea a thumbs up, and slows down as Jack and Ace speed past him. He sticks the wrench back into his pocket.
(Confessional: Felix)
"Well, I think that went better than I expected. Now I just have to time this race right so we end up on the same team, and hopefully our team is good."
Felix plugs his nose. "Ugh! This thing smells worse than I imagined!"
(End confessional: Felix)
At the end of the pack, Zhang, Hayden, and Bryce walked leisurely. Almost as if they had forgotten they were in a competition for a million dollars.
"Ahh! This air is simply amazing!" Hayden practically gleams at the other two. "You see, you can't get this quality of air just sitting in your house all the time! It's something most people don't realize these days!"
Bryce and Zhang look at each other, puzzled.
Bryce raises an eyebrow. "Oh, yes, let's all just take a relaxing stroll while the others actually compete. Brilliant strategy."
Zhang shrugs. "I don't mind a good walk. Let the others tire themselves out."
Hayden nods enthusiastically. "Exactly! Plus, we'll have more energy for whatever Chris throws at us next."
Bryce grits his teeth.. "Well, as long as you're comfortable, gentlemen. I'm sure a million dollars will just fall into our laps while we're busy admiring the scenery."
Zhang chuckles.. "We'll see."
Bryce runs off, leaving them behind.
Up Ahead, Tiffany and Jade jog at a brisk pace. They catch up to Daniel, who gives a relaxing smile. "Hello, there."
Hi." Jade says quickly, while Tiffany gives a low hanging nod. Daniel matches their pace, still smiling. "Enjoying the race so far?"
Jade shrugs. "It's alright. Just want to get through this." Tiffany glances at Daniel. "Yeah, could be worse, I guess." Daniel nods. "Well, at least we're getting some exercise. And who knows? Maybe we'll end up on the same team."
"You're one of the few people here I don't hate already." Jade admitted. Slowly slowing her pace.
"I'll take what I can get," Daniel accepted. "Not many people here strike me as the nice type."
"You can say that again." Jade replied looking forward. Just as Jade finished speaking, Bryce ran up to them, catching his breath.
"Oh, great, just who we needed," Daniel mutters sarcastically. Jade looks at Bryce as he brushes himself off.
Bryce smirks. "Miss me already? Thought I'd give you all the pleasure of my company."
Tiffany rolls her eyes. "Lucky us."
Bryce frowns, and crosses his arms, "Look, I'm not a bad dude, okay? I'm just tired, and when I'm tired, I get cranky."
"We're all tired," Daniel starts. "But you shouldn't have been rude to Jade back on the dock."
Bryce raises an eyebrow. "Rude? I wasn't being rude!"
Tiffany narrows her eyes. "Direct is one thing, but you were being a jerk."
Jade rolls her eyes, "It wasn't that bad. And besides, it was funny! I like funny guys!"
Jade looks at Bryce as she finishes her sentence, making the ladder's expression change from indifference to flustered. "Umm." He begins saying, but Daniel cuts him off.
"Okay, scratch that, you both are weird." Daniel criticizes the two.
Bryce sighs. "Fine, maybe I was a bit harsh. But this isn't a summer camp where we all hold hands and sing kumbaya. It's a competition."
Tiffany and Daniel loom expectantly at Bryce for a moment, until he sighs and accepts defeat.
"Fine, I'll keep my comments to myself."
Chris stands at the finish line, beyond that are two mats, one coloured red, and the other coloured green.
"Ohp! I see somebody! Who will be the first member of the green team?"
The first person to finish the race was….. Andrea. And she was drenched in sweat.
Chris recoiled and plugged his nose. "Gah! You need to take a shower! Right now!"
Andrea scoffed. "Watch and learn, man." She pulled a large can of deodorant spray.
"Uhmmm." Chris started as Andrea applied the deodorant to herself. And just like that, the stench was gone.
Andrea took a comically deep breath. "See? All gone." She told the host.
"Right…. Andrea, you're on the green team, go stand on the green mat."
Andrea eyed the host as she stood where she was told.
In the woods, Logan and Starr ran as fast as they could next to each other. Starr was happily listening to her mp3 player and Logan watched quietly.
(Confessional: Logan)
Logan sat in the confessional, relaxed. "Starr is a pretty cute girl. She seems sweet. I'm not really looking for a relationship though. I don't come from a family of money, so having a relationship probably wouldn't be a good idea."
(End Confessional: Logan)
Back in the woods, Logan glances at Starr, who is happily bobbing her head to the music in her mp3 player. He shakes his head with a small smile, focusing back on the path ahead.
Up ahead, Ace runs at a respectable pace. She nears the finish line, and she doesn't say a word, but she does look behind her when she hears a noise.
It was Daniel, and he was speeding past her, eager to finish 2nd. "Catch ya later!" He yells back at her as he crosses the finish line. A glowering Ace crosses the finish line just seconds after.
"And Daniel is the first member on the Red Team! Ace, you're the 2nd member of the green team!"
"Amazing." Ace mumbled angrily at the host.
"Boom! In your face!" Daniel playfully teased the navy girl. Who was clearly not in the mood.
Ace narrows her eyes at Daniel, her frustration evident. "This isn't over, you know."
(Confessional: Ace)
Ace does not look happy. "I'm not supposed to lose! I don't like losing! Especially to that idiot franion!"
(End confessional: Ace)
Back on the trail, Jade, Felix, and Jack are in a close race, with Bryce trailing just behind.
"Come on, just a bit further!" Felix encourages Jade, who smiles and gives him a thumbs up.
Bryce huffs, trying to keep up. "You two better slow down, or you'll miss my dazzling finish!"
As they near the finish line, Jade pulls ahead slightly, followed by Felix.
"Jade, you're on the red team! Felix, you're on the green team." Felix smiles as he eyes Andrea. "Talk to me later." He whispers to her.
Up ahead, Jack starts cheering, "Yeah! In your face rich kid-"
Then he plows into a tree with a loud thud, and Bryce runs past him, laughing his ass off. "Looks like someone's not too good at multitasking!"
Jack stumbles back, dazed and rubbing his head, he groans. "Seriously, dude?"
Chris laughs as well. "Bryce is on the Red Team, Jack,"
Jack walks past the finish line.
"You're on the Green Team."
"Gee, great."
Jack shoots a glare at Bryce, who's still chuckling. "Oh, real funny. I'll remember this."
Bryce stops chuckling and gulps.
Just then, Tiffany crosses the finish line.
"There you are!" Jade called to the girl. "Where'd you go? I could've sworn you were with us." Tiffany shrugged at this. "I got tired." Tiffany explained.
"Tiffany is on the Red Team."
Logan runs across the finish line, panting and drenched in sweat. Starr was behind him.
"Logan! You're on team Green!"
Logan nods and gives Chris a thumbs up as he heads over to his team.
Felix and Logan shake hands as Andrea gives him a competitive nod. Ace crosses her arms and looks away, agitated.
"And it looks like Starr is on the Red Team."
Starr joins her team. Getting warm looks from Daniel and Jade, and indifferent looks from Bryce and Tiffany.
Harmony was next to cross the finish line. She didn't look very tired, and wore a warm and shy smile.
"Harmony, you're on Team Green!"
"Thanks, Chris." The small girl told the host. Before joining her team.
"And Zhang is on the Red Team!" Chris calls out.
Zhang joins the Red Team, giving a polite nod to Starr and Daniel. He looks at Jade with a raised eyebrow, who responds with a curt nod.
"Not much of a talker, huh?" Bryce questioned Zhang. Zhang raises an eyebrow, not missing a beat. "I prefer to let my actions speak for themselves."
"The hell does that mean?" Bryce replied, confused.
"Does not matter." Zhang snapped, startling most members of his team.
"Geez, sorry." Bryce murmured.
"Only two contestants left! Who's going to round out each team?" Chris announced, clearly excited.
Felix squinted, attempting to see anybody. "Weird, wonder where they are."
"One thing is clear," Andrea said loudly, "I don't want either of them on my team."
The camera cut to the woods, where Olivia and Hayden were barely moving. Olivia was checking her reflection in a compact mirror, while Hayden wandered aimlessly, his eyes red as heck.
"Come on, why is it so hot! My eyeliner and makeup have gotten all runny!" Olivia groaned, putting her mirror away.
Hayden glanced at her with a lazy smile. "Oh, come on, it can't be that bad-"
Olivia turns to Hayden, who yells in surprise. "Ay yai yai! Okay!"
"You see? My face is precious! It can't afford to be mistreated like this!" Hayden nervously looked around. "Sure, but stressing out isn't gonna help," Hayden told Olivia, continuing at his slow pace.
Back at the finish line, Chris shook his head. "This might take a while, folks."
Camera fades out.
Chris checks his watch, very annoyed. Most of the campers are sitting down. Or chatting amongst themselves.
"Hey! Look!" Logan shouts, pointing at the woods.
As Hayden and Olivia finally came into view, it was clear they were taking their sweet time. Olivia was whining about the heat, her hair, and pretty much everything else, while Hayden just looked lost.
"Come on, hurry it up!" Chris shouted, clearly getting impatient.
"This is like, the worst day ever," Olivia moaned, fanning herself dramatically. "I can't believe I have to run in this heat."
"Where even are we? I thought we were going to the beach," Hayden said, looking around in confusion.
Olivia rolled her eyes. "We're on an island, genius."
"I knew that," Hayden replied, but his puzzled expression said otherwise.
"Are you kidding me?!" Jade shouted in frustration.
As they neared the finish line, Olivia managed to drag herself just ahead of Hayden.
"Olivia, you're on the Green Team!" Chris announced.
"Does that mean I can go take a shower?" Olivia asked frantically, blowing hair out of her eyes.
"No, it means you can go stand on your team's mat."
"And Hayden, you're on the….Red Team!" Chris added, barely containing his frustration.
"Cool," Hayden said with a dazed grin as he stumbled over to his team, not entirely sure what was happening.
Bryce sniffed the air. "What is that smell?"
Hayden's eyes widened in panic, and he quickly glanced around. "Uh, probably just some skunk or something around here… you know, wildlife and all that."
"Yeah, I'm sure it was pal." Bryce Jeered.
Alrighty, the teams have been formed! On the red team, Zhang, Tiffany, Daniel, Jade, Bryce, Starr, and Hayden, you are now known as "The Savage Sharks!"
A red team logo appeared, depicting a shark in the ocean, jaws wide.
"Huh," Daniel noted, thinking to himself. "Not half bad."
"Thank you, I know. Now, the green team, Jack, Felix, Andrea, Olivia, Ace, Harmony, and Logan, you are now known as the Fearless Falcons!"
A green team logo appeared, depicting a falcon swooping through the air.
"Nice!" Felix said.
Chris looked at his watch. "Hmph." He grumbled. "Looks like it's almost sundown."
"Thanks to them." Daniel added, angrily glancing at Olivia, who scoffed. Chris sighed and looked forward. "Chef's making dinner at the mess hall. Then you can go to your cabins to clock out for the night."
Andrea smiled for once. "I can get behind that. I'm starved."
The campers cleared out.
Chris led the group to the mess hall, where Chef Hatchet was already waiting, stirring something ominously in a large pot. The smell wafting through the air wasn't exactly appetizing.
"Ugh." Olivia mumbled.
Jade poked at his food with a fork, wrinkling her nose. "This is what we're supposed to eat?"
"Looks like something my cat coughed up," Bryce muttered, eyeing the bowl distastefully.
Zhang gave the food a dismissive glance. "Disgusting. I wouldn't even feed this to the employees."
Bryce turned from his meal to look at Zhang. "Excuse me? Your what?"
"Nothing."
"Well, unless you've got some gourmet meal hiding in your suitcase, I'd suggest you eat up," Chris said with a smirk.
On the other side of the room, Jack picked at his slop with his fork. Andrea sat to his left, forcing some of it down her throat. Andrea gagged, meanwhile, Starr watched from the opposite side of the table. Starr sighed, trying to find the bright side. "Maybe it's not as bad as it looks…"
"Doubt it," Jack replied, already pushing his bowl away.
Harmony hesitated, then took a tiny, cautious bite. She immediately gagged, covering her mouth. "Oh no, it's worse."
Daniel shrugged, taking a spoonful. "Eh, I've had worse." He started eating, Logan shook his head in disapproval, and he flicked some of his food at the ceiling.
Olivia took one whiff and nearly fainted. "There's no way I'm eating this! It's like Chef tried to poison us!"
Ace, unfazed, started eating without complaint, rousing strange looks from her table.
.(Confessional: Harmony)
The girl looked concerned, and she rubbed the back of her neck,
"That girl scares me. I'm gonna remind myself to stay away from her."
(End confessional: Harmony)
As most of the contestants picked at their food—or flat-out refused to touch it—Chris clapped his hands again. "Alright, once you're done, head to your cabins and get some rest. Also, Your luggage has been delivered to your cabin's front porch. Falcons, your cabin is on the left, Sharks, your cabin is on the right. You'll need it for tomorrow."
Hearing that news, most of the contestants got up and left.
Falcon's Cabin: Boy's side.
Jack is the first to enter, followed by Felix and Logan.
Jack throws his duffel bag onto the top bunk with a satisfied grin. "Man, this place is a dump, but at least I've got the top bunk."
"Did you expect a private suite?" Logan jeered, looking at his surroundings.
Jack laughs sarcastically. "Whatever. But if this thing falls on me in the middle of the night, I'm blaming you."
Felix looked at the bed. Felix shakes his head, inspecting the creaky bed frame. "This thing could fall apart any second."
Logan lays cautiously on his bed, and pops a book out of his suitcase.
"Welp, I'm gonna unwind, night." Logan says.
"Goodnight." Felix responds.
Shark's Cabin: Boy's side.
Bryce entered first, looking at his new living quarters in dismay. Zhang and Daniel entered after, looking just as upset.
Daniel plopped his bags on one of the bottom bunks. "Man, this place is gross. I've stayed in better treehouses."
Hayden entered the cabin, looking very drowsy. "Man, I'm tired,"
He laid on one of the bottom bunks, which groaned and squeaked as he did. "Ooh! This is comfy!" He said in relief. Bryce looked at him as he set his minimal baggage on the floor.
"Yeah, well, let's just hope it doesn't build tetanus. These beds look ancient."
Zhang angrily threw his suitcases across the room, startling Hayden.
"Woah, man!"
"If I get one splinter, I'm suing Chris."
Daniel and Hayden look at each other, snickering. "Good luck with that. He'd probably make it part of a challenge."
The two boys share a laugh as Zhang grits his teeth in anger, Bryce looks out the window at the back of the cabin.
Bryce turned back to the group. "This is going to be a long season if we have to deal with this mess." Daniel's smile faded slightly.
"But we still have each other, right?"
"You're part of the mess." Bryce responded.
Daniel's smile faded completely, somewhat taken aback. "Well, thanks for the vote of confidence," he replied.
Hayden sat up on his bunk. "Hey, as long as I get some sleep, I don't care what this place looks like."
"Yeah, bet your room looks great, too." Bryce replied. "I'm hitting the hay."
He lays down and puts a pillow over his face.
Daniel sighed, shaking his head. "Let's just try to make the best of it, alright? We're stuck here for the season, after all."
Hayden nodded, already lying back down. "Wake me up when dinner's ready."
Daniel suddenly became very confused, "Uhhhh….. we just ate dinner."
"Oh." Hayden replied.
Shark's Cabin: Girl's side
Tiffany, Jade, and Starr each entered, their Jade looked disgusted, while Starr just looked somewhat disappointed.
Tiffany dropped her bags onto one of the bottom bunks with a dramatic sigh. "Seriously, this is the best you could do, Chris?"
Jade seemed to share Tiffany's dismay. "I feel you there, girl. This sucks."
Jade tossed her bag onto a top bunk, Starr, meanwhile, was fiddling with her mp3 player, trying to ignore the discomfort. "I'm sure it'll be fine. It's just a cabin. At least we've got each other to keep us company."
"Yeah, that'll be great. At least that Olivia girl isn't on our team." Jade agreed.
Tiffany rolled her eyes, giving Starr a sideways glance. "Wow, optimism. That'll really help when we're stuck in these rat-infested bunks."
Jade climbed onto the top bunk. "Y'know, you're starting to bum me out with that depressive vibe. Just because the cabin is bad doesn't mean you have to be, too."
Starr finally looked up from her player. "Hey, look on the bright side. At least we're not in the mess hall anymore. This place is practically a palace compared to that."
The girls quietly settled in, unlike the other team.
Falcon's Cabin: Girl's side
Inside the Falcon Cabin, the atmosphere was markedly different. And not in a good way.
Andrea, Harmony, and Olivia entered the room, with Andrea immediately making a beeline for the far corner. "Great, another charming disaster," she muttered as she flopped her suitcase onto a bunk that creaked ominously.
Ace entered the room, not saying a word. She took her boots off and threw them in the corner.
Harmony, though not as vocal, looked around with a worried expression. Olivia, adjusting her sunglasses, sighed dramatically. "I can't believe this is what we get. This place is practically falling apart."
"What? You don't like it? Grow up!" The muscled woman spat at the fashion freak.
Olivia huffed, still dissatisfied. "Easier said than done when you're sleeping on a bed that looks like it was found in a junkyard."
Harmony glanced up briefly from her suitcase she was unpacking. "Can we not start with the whining? I've had enough of that for one day!."
Olivia, still grumbling, threw her bag onto a bunk and began rearranging her things. "I'm just saying, if this is how the rest of the season is going to go, we're in for a rough ride."
"No, you're in for a rough ride if an untidy room makes you whine and cry." Andrea jeered, wiping pretend tears from her eyes for extra effect.
"Do not talk to me like that, you hulk!" Olivia hissed.
The two practically got into a screaming match. Harmony, caught in the middle, tried to intervene. "Come on, guys, let's not start off like this. We need to work together."
But…. she got shoved out of the way by Andrea, and she just left the cabin in defeat.
Olivia's voice cracked as she yelled, "You think this is funny? This is just the start, and if this is how you're going to be, then we're going to have serious problems!"
Andrea, yelled even louder. "Well, maybe if you could stop whining for five seconds, you'd see that it's not the end of the world. We've got bigger things to worry about."
"SHUT UP! BOTH OF YOU." A voice screamed from the corner of the room, making the windows rattle.
Both women froze, and turned to see who was just screaming at them.
"Shut…up." Ace roared, glaring at the two with fiery eyes.
Olivia and Andrea turned to face her, their mouths hanging open in surprise. For a moment, neither knew how to react.
"I am going to sleep, and if anybody wakes me up, there's going to be hell to pay." Ace warned the two. Before getting in bed and turning over.
The camera cuts back to Chris, who stands on the dock. "That's it for now, folks! And boy am I gonna have fun with these ones!"
Chris laughs maniacally, before wiping a tear from his eyes.
"We've got more challenges, more drama, and of course, more surprises coming your way, next time, on Total, Drama, Island!"
Camera Fades Out…..
Editor's note:
Okay, so, I'm sad that the last project I started failed, but that wasn't entirely my fault, my computer I was using broke, and when It got fixed, the program I was using to write the story didn't want to work. And by the time everything was fixed, I had forgotten most of the plotlines, now, I don't recommend you read that old fanfiction because some events in that WILL cross over into this one, so you will get slightly spoiled, also, my writing wasn't as fluid back then, and I've improved as a writer. Think of it as a beta season, because the cast was also similar, but there were a few characters I either added, swapped out, or changed their personality. For example:
Jack was originally supposed to be a twin, with Zack(Now Felix).
Olivia was less whiny in the beta.
Tiffany was more shy in the beta.
Daniel was a major villain in the beta, but I encountered some major plot holes.
Jade was much meaner and abrasive in the beta.
Bryce was less sarcastic in the beta, having a more understanding side.
Starr was really annoying and unhelpful in the beta, but I didn't want any fodder characters, so I fixed that here.
Andrea, Ace, Harmony, Logan, Zhang, and Hayden didn't exist. But Ace shared traits with one of the swapped out characters in the beta.
And I removed Neo, Madison, Venus, Sally, Aaron, and Mark.
I hope to have a great time writing this, and if you like it, make sure to leave a review to help give me some ideas that I could use in the future.
Fearless Falcons: Jack, Felix, Andrea, Olivia, Ace, Harmony, Logan
Savage Sharks: Zhang, Tiffany, Daniel, Jade, Bryce, Starr, Hayden
