Ch2
Chrysaor sat on his ship as he sailed under the cold moon. Times are changing. He frowned at the waves as his ship cut through them. I can just feel that something is going to happen.
He felt a familiar presence appear behind him. Turning around he was surprised to see Triton. "I thought you were supposed to keep your distance?"
His older brother frowned. "Technically I'm still supposed to watch over you." Triton's face was gaunt as if he had been fighting see monsters all night again. "The mood among the gods is tense, even our father has been doing his best to avoid agitating Lord Zeus. How's Percy doing?"
"He sends his regards." He folded his arms and adjusted his golden mask. "Apparently Lady Hera is playing a dangerous game."
Triton raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? What is she up to now?" His voice was honestly curious even their father didn't know all of Lady Hera's schemes.
"She wants both camps to be united," He said as he looked out into the seas as old memories of pillages and slaughter replayed in his mind.
Triton's eyes widened. "What do you mean?"
He paced in front of Triton and looked up at the sky. "He found three demigods, one of them wore the other camps shirt. As for Reyna, looks like she was sent back."
Frankly he knew of the other side but even he wasn't foolish enough to talk about it at Camp Half Blood. Back in the day he would raid both sides for whoever paid him the highest prize. A part of him was upset that he had to lie to Percy about her but he knew that he had to tread carefully about Reyna's background.
This did get a reaction from Triton. His older brother's jaw dropped his gaze dumbfounded. "Do be so direct, what could Lady Hera want?"
He shrugged. "Beats me. I think sooner or later Percy and the Greeks will know about the Romans."
Triton sighed. "It looks like the second great prophecy is already under way. I'll report this to father, tread carefully." His older brother paused. "If you want to tell Percy go ahead."
He nodded. "See you around."
Triton leaped into the ocean and disappeared into the water. Just what is happening? Every time the Greeks and Romans met up there was blood shed and Olympus would be split personality wise.
He drew his golden sword and looked at his reflection in the blade. I never did tell him but now he should at least have some understanding of what is going on.
Taking a deep breath he leaped into the water. The cold embrace of the water met him as he willed himself towards Camp Half Blood. His level of divinity was stronger now, more like a god though he still wasn't as strong as Triton.
In a matter of seconds he appeared on the shores of Camp Half Blood. Walking on the sand he found Percy looking at the waters with a longing gaze. "Hey long time no see!"
Percy turned to him his eyes betraying how excited he was to see him. "Chris!"
His younger brother ran and hugged him, he returned hug. "How you holding up?"
Percy sighed. "I'm fine. I still have no clue where Reyna went. Those three demigods just left on a quest not too long ago, something about them seems off."
"Lets talk somewhere private," He said.
His younger brother nodded and followed him into the water. Once they were both submerged he willed the fish and anything out of the ordinary out of the area. He drew his golden sword. "This was made from Imperial Gold."
Percy frowned. "One of the guys Jason had a sword made out of that same material. I thought it was just a fancy decoration."
"It was popular among the Romans." He took a deep breath. "Percy the gods have always gone towards where Western civilization was more advanced. After Greece they went to Rome where they became slightly different. Zeus became Jupiter, Hera became Juno, and our father became Neptune."
"They just changed names?" Percy asked.
He shook his head. "No their personalities became different, more disciplined and militaristic. Our father as Neptune was much more fierce in the Roman era. But the thing is when they had these different personalities they still had children, demigods just like their Greek sides."
"Th-There are other demigods?" Percy asked his eyes widening as his brain slowly made the connections.
He nodded. "Yup. On there are Roman demigods and a camp that follows the Roman tradition. In fact you already know a few."
Percy raised an eyebrow. "I do?"
He nodded. "I never could tell you since it is taboo to speak about but Reyna and her sister are daughters of Bellona a Roman goddess."
"R-Roman?" Percy looked him his eyes widening. "So that Jason guy too is Roman, could they have been swapped?"
"Most likely." He folded his arms. "Whenever conflicts between the two sides occur Olympus struggles so that is why both sides are separated. I suspect Reyna is with the Romans for some reason or another and for whatever reason Hera sent someone from there to here."
Percy scratched his head deep in deep thought. "You know I really hoped that we could get some time to rest from all of these godly troubles."
He chuckled. "Tis the life of a demigod. Anyway Percy I feel that this coming summer won't be easy, you'll have to lead the camp and defend it from those that want to harm it."
"I know," Percy said as he told him about a prophecy he received. "I just don't know how I'm going to do things with Annabeth."
"We all have to do things we don't like but you can't afford to have divisions in the camp, trust me these Romans if they march on you will not hesitate to level the camp. The feud between Rome and Greece was always strong." He folded his arms and looked down at the deep sea remembering the various fights fought in the past. "They were always bloody conflicts, you'll need all the help you can get."
Percy slowly nodded. "Got it. Will you and Triton help?"
He sighed. "Triton can't be too involved less Lord Zeus gets involved and if a conflict erupts between the camps he'll have to take the reigns and govern the realm."
"Oh." Percy looked a bit disappointed. "Will you help?"
He patted his younger brother's shoulder. "I'll do what I can. Father did assign me to watch over the East Coast, I'll make sure those Romans try not to cause too much trouble."
A smile spread across Percy's face. "Thanks. I'll do my best to defend the camp."
"I know you will," he said. With that the two hugged once more. "Now go, I'm sure you'll have a lot of work to do."
Percy nodded. "Stay in touch."
"Will do." He watched Percy swim to the surface before willing himself to his ship.
He sighed and stretched his arms as he looked up at the moonlight. "Looks like we'll have another adventure. Skipper!"
One of his subordinates came up to him wielding and AK-47 and a bronze sword. "Yes Lord Chrysaor."
"Call in all favors we may need to prepare for next summer," he said. "Also, Fortify our bases in Atlantic and Caribbean."
His subordinate bowed. "As you command."
Once Skipper left he drew his gold sword and looked at the blade. It's been a while since I took part in a civil war. Luckily I know how these Romans fight. He sheathed his blade as he felt a powerful presence appear behind him.
"Good evening Chrysaor," Hera said.
The hairs on his neck stood up as he carefully turned around and bowed. The Queen of Olympus wore a cloak that covered her entire body from head to toe yet her eyes were a steely calm. "Lady Hera how may I be of service?"
I doubt you have any of your father's bastards you want me to drown.
"I don't have much time so let make this clear," Hera said. "War is coming one way or another and we can use all the help we can get."
"I know you aren't a fool my lady," he said calmly. "If it is about defending the Greeks I don't mind keeping them safe from any accidents."
"I'd rather there not be any skirmishes but I need them prepared for any emergencies," Hera said her gaze flashing with an intense light. "Percy Jackson is a great leader and I know he'll defend the camp, but even he can't do everything alone. That is why I propose a cooperation."
"Oh? What kind of cooperation?" He was used to dealing with gods and helping them with their dirty work.
Hera's gaze flickered in the moonlight. "Help your brother defend the camp and if possible the seven chosen demigods that will head east." The atmosphere around her grew tense. "You know the Mediterranean like the back of your hand, I imagine a certain acquaintance will give them trouble should they try to enter."
He slowly nodded noticing the venom in Hera's voice. Heracles was known to extort a lot of people to get into the Mediterranean, and those that didn't pay up got attack by monster or his men took care them at sea. Of course him being a minor god now only pissed off Hera.
"I'll do what I can," he said diplomatically. "That man won't be easy to defeat, even for me."
Hera's gaze betrayed coldness. "Don't worry there are many ways of dealing with him."
I low key don't want to ask. "Well I don't mind helping, Afterall I can't leave my little brother hanging."
"I'll supply you with any and all materials," Hera said firmly. "The Greeks must be well armed and trained. I will not have one side of the family destroyed"
"If the Romans march on the camp they'll have to put up a strong defense," he said. "But don't worry I'm good at playing pirate."
"That is what I expect," Hera said. "We'll communicate in secret. Be safe son of Poseidon."
He bowed as she disappeared in a flicker of light.
Oh yes this are going to be very interesting. A smile spread across his face as he looked out at the dark ocean. The waters churned and hit his boat ominously. He laughed loudly. "Oh this will be very interesting indeed."
He drew his sword and looked at his reflection. He looked about the same but now had the power of a minor god. Looks like I'll going up against that old bastard again.
Lou Ellen was meditating in a private place in her cabin. It was dark save for a single torch light in the middle of the room. Taking a deep breath she began to chant in Ancient Greek as she pleaded for her mother's guidance.
Then it hit her, like a powerful shock she opened her eyes and found herself on a dark ship.
"My child you must represent me," Her mother Hecate said.
"Mother what do you mean?" she asked.
Seven torches appeared in front of her. "Seven demigods will go on this quest, you must go and represent me. Show them what my child can do."
She swallowed. "I will mother. I'll make you proud."
The seven torches flickered in front of her. "I know you will my love," her mother said. "Be safe and stay strong. For now it is the time of a child of mine to shine."
She awoke the next the morning and rubbed her eyes. I'll make you proud mother. The mood at the camp was tense. Jason Grace and those two others that came with him left on their quest not too long ago while there was still no sign of Reyna.
"Hey Lou!"
She turned around and saw Malcolm. The son of Athena was different, a bit more confident than when she had first met him though he was still a bit bashful.
"Hey Malcolm. We have archery together right?"
The son of Athena nodded. "We should prepare for whatever is coming."
She thought of her mother's words and nodded. "Yeah I agree."
Malcolm looked at her awkwardly, his face reddened as he looked to the ground. "Anyway see you later."
She waved at him. "You too." The son of Athena had an awkward way with words and it was kind of cute.
The atmosphere at camp was tense. During the morning she saw Percy Jackson sit as his table frowning as if in deep thought. We are all at a crossroads I can feel it.
Whoever this Jason Grace was, he and his friends will play an important role in whatever the hell was going on. I wonder what mother would say? Probably something about multiple paths and crossroads.
She led the Hecate Cabin to the archery area where she found Malcolm and his siblings. "Alright everyone lets line up," Malcolm said. "Me and Lou will supervise everyone."
"Lets line up," she said clapping her hands.
As their respective Cabins lined up she noticed a short haired blonde girl in the back. Their gazes met and she looked down. Annabeth Chase.
The daughter of Athena always seemed to stare at her in the distance but would never get close. From what she gathered from a few of her other siblings who were on the side of Kronos Annabeth had a romantic relationship with her late brother Alabaster Torrington which ended in his death.
"How's your Cabin?" Malcolm asked as they watched their respective siblings fire arrows.
"Alright. We're getting used to things." One of her siblings fired an arrow that turned into a line of fired that hit the target. "Hey no fire!" She quickly put it out with an incantation.
It was then Annabeth Chase came up, the daughter of Athena came up and fired an arrow that hit the side of the target. She noticed Malcolm's brow furrowed as he watched her go back in line.
"You know you should give her the opportunity to change," she said.
Malcolm frowned. "She betrayed our camp and our mother; she was so disappointed in what she did."
"Yeah but it's over now," she said calmly. "I've been doing my best to be a bridge between my siblings who joined the gods versus those who fought for Kronos. You should do the same."
Malcolm sighed. "Frankly she doesn't want anything to do with us or anyone."
"Well I can tell she has had a hard life," she said. Looking at Annabeth Chase she could tell the daughter of Athena had a lot of trauma. She had a hard life and I doubt being with Kronos was easier.
They continued to watch their siblings practice archery and even practiced a bit with them. She wasn't that good with a bow and Malcolm was only somewhat decent.
By the time they were done, curiosity got the better and she went over to Annabeth who was sitting on a log looking up at the sky. "Hey you ok?"
The daughter of Athena looked at her with a dead look in her eyes. "I'm fine."
A cold breeze passed through the area. "Don't worry I'll talk to Malcolm if he's bothering you."
Annabeth frowned and stared at the ground. "Did you know Alabaster?"
She was surprised by the question. "I met him a few times but we weren't that close."
The daughter of Athena sighed. "I honestly don't know how to feel about him. A part of me thinks he was manipulating me while another thinks he truly cared for him."
"Yeah from what I heard he had a silver tongue." She folded her arms. "But you would have to decide for yourself what your past with him meant for you." She paused and looked up at the sky. "There are many paths in life, we shouldn't dwell on what could have been."
Annabeth didn't say anything, she only looked at her calmy as she got up and walked away. Hopefully you can get the help you need.
