Chapter 13: Jason Chapter 4 Part 2
Summary:
Jason tells Pietro and Weiss the rest of his Semblances and makes a discovery.
Name: Jason Todd
Physical age: 13
Mental Age: 24
Jason told Pietro about the Semblances that he'd told Weiss before moving onto the others, with Weiss keeping notes on the other Semblances in Jason's... armory for lack of a better word.
"I think that I might have stolen the Hound's Semblance." Jason said.
"The what?" Pietro asked.
"The Hound. One of the worst Grimm I have ever faced. It was beyond dangerous. It was the most dangerous thing I have ever fought and that is saying something."
"What made is so dangerous?"
"The fact that it could shapeshift and keep up with me, not to mention that I could only kill it by dropping a building on it."
"Brother's above." Pietro said.
"I have a Semblance that I can't account for."
"What is it called?"
"Premonition" Jason said. "It allows me to predict the best possible outcome with a ninety percent accuracy."
"Wow." Weiss said. "That's hard to believe."
"I didn't know that I had it until you asked me to think about all of my Semblances."
"Would have you figured it out eventually?"
"Probably. I mean, looking back, it would explain why so much has gone right for me since getting back, if it's a passive Semblance like Qrow's Semblance, I basically have a ninety percent chance of succeeding at anything that I do."
"What if it isn't passive?" Pietro asked.
"Then I'm the luckiest person alive."
"I knew that when you didn't die after fighting the hound." Weiss said.
"I thought it was after we got back together after the fall of Beacon." Jason said. "That or after our fight."
"Continue." Weiss blushed and stammered out.
"Next is Manipulative hypnosis." Jason explained. "I stole it from a woman who basically used it to brainwash the Kingdom of Argus to hate a friend because this friend rejected her child. Which makes me question her, her Semblance, and how strong her Semblance was."
"Why is that?" Pietro asked.
"If she was able to control an entire kingdom, a small one, but still a kingdom, why wasn't she able to force our friend to say yes."
"Do you know?" Weiss asked.
"I have a guess, but I'm not sure."
"How?"
"I think that she wanted the relationship to be genuine and not forced, and if her control ever slipped... imagine if you were mind controlled into being with me, how that would feel waking up in the moment."
Weiss gagged. "Okay. I think I understand."
"Yeah."
"What does Manipulative Hypnosis do?" Pietro asked.
"It can brainwash a person or an entire kingdom to make them believe whatever the user wants them to believe."
"That's horrible."
"It is, that's why I took it, but also why I don't use it. It would be so easy to use it to get my way, but it's wrong. At lease dragging them into the shadows before killing them gives them a chance to fight, a small chance, but a chance to fight, nonetheless."
"I see."
"Next is Frog. It gives me the ability to summon a frog." Jason placed a frog on the table.
"Frog!" Frost cheered, reaching for the frog.
"Be careful with it." Weiss said, handing Frost the frog before wiping her hand on Jason's shirt sleeve.
"Fascinating." Pietro said, "I've never seen a Semblance that can summon a living breathing animal before."
Jason looked into a reflection and Drei jumped from the reflection and landed on the floor panting. "This isn't my Semblance, but it is Drei's, and Drei is connected to me, so she is able to jump out of reflection so long as I can see my reflection."
"Fascinating."
"I got Drei when I saved her two years ago. I got Frog and twelve other Semblances in Argus when I took down the churches of Light and Darkness. I slaughtered them and took some of their Semblances on my way out."
"I see." Pietro said. "I would like the chance to study these Semblances. Can you give Semblances as well as take them?"
"I don't see a problem with allowing you to study the Semblances, and yes, I can transfer Semblances as well as take them. I gave Penny from the future a Semblance called Stockpile, and it basically made her self-sufficient. She didn't need to recharge, she could fire bolts of energy, and she could overcharge to deal devastating attacks."
"Amazing!"
"Yes, she was. She asked to spar with me, and I told her to go all out from the start or she would lose."
"How did she do?"
"Not bad, if she were fighting anyone other than me, she would have won or even killed them."
"My word."
"Yes. Next on the list is Signature Move. It allows the user to activate a move that is unique to them and them alone. It's different for each person. If I were to use it the move would be different than if Weiss used it or you used it, or Frost used it."
"I see. Have you ever used it."
"No."
"If you do use it, would you tell me what your signature move is?"
"Be right back." Jason said, dropping into his Shadow Realm before coming back. "Okay. My Signature Move allows me to move behind my opponent and attack them from behind."
"Oh."
"That's lame." Weiss said. "You can already do that, and your signature move is that?"
"Should we move on?" Pietro asked, catching a hint that this was about to turn into a lover's quarrel.
"Next on the list is Lightning Strike. As the name implies, it creates a lightning strike that strikes the target, and no I haven't tested it because I haven't thought about it."
"It sounds dangerous." Weiss said.
"It's a force of nature, of course it's dangerous."
"Don't get snippy with me." Weiss snapped.
"Don't fight!" Frost shouted.
Jason and Weiss looked at each other before looking at Frost.
"We aren't fighting baby girl." Jason said.
"We are just bantering." Weiss said. "This is what we do sometimes."
"Oh. It sounds like you are fighting."
"We aren't."
"Okay."
"Shall we move on?" Pietro asked.
"Yes, let's." Weiss said.
"Next is Harness. It allows you to harness the elemental energies of Dust."
"Interesting." Pietro said. "That could be dangerous."
"It could be." Jason said. "I need to try it when I deem it necessary."
"When will you deem it necessary?" Weiss asked.
"When I'm backed into a wall and need a trump card."
"Really? How?"
"How much elemental energy do you think I've been putting away into the Semblance?"
"How much?"
"Enough to destroy Atlas three times over."
"WHAT!" Weiss shouted.
"Yes." Jason said. "I've put aside enough elemental energy that if I unleashed it all at once then it would destroy Atlas, Mantle, and the Mines."
"You're insane."
"You're not wrong."
"Moving on." Pietro said.
"Next is Parrot. It allows you to use the last move that someone used, so if Weiss used her shadow arms ability, then I could parrot that attack and use the shadow arms."
"Intriguing." Pietro said.
"Yes. Semblances are intriguing. Next is Vertigo. As the name suggests it creates a sense of vertigo, very useful against your average person but not when the person has no eyes and can shut their sense of hearing off and find you by smell."
"Brothers above." Pietro said.
"I haven't used it, but I intend to when I need an edge."
"What are the chances of you actually using it?" Weiss asked.
"Fifty/fifty. Next is Nerve. It allows me to intimidate people or keep my nerve when someone tries to intimidate me, so it's pretty useful."
"I give you permission to use that Semblance on Jacques so long as you don't kill him." Weiss said.
"Really? You will let me torture Jacques so long as I don't kill him?"
"Yes."
"I could kiss you right now."
"Kissing would lead to poking and poking causes pregnancy and my mom doesn't want to be a grandmother when I'm only 13." Weiss reminded.
Jason pointed at Frost.
"You know what I mean."
"I know." Jason sighed. It was going to be another lonely night.
"I know that this is... difficult for you." Weiss patted his shoulder. "But you are doing so great, and we only have to wait three more years. I know it... it's difficult, but please hold on."
"You were going to say, "hard for you" and "I know it sucks" weren't you." Jason accused.
"Maybe." Weiss blushed, "But I changed it at the last second so I wouldn't say it."
"Thank you." Jason hugged Weiss knowing that it was as difficult if not more difficult for her. "I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry too."
Pietro cleared his throat. He wanted to give these two their privacy, but they needed to keep going. "I'm sorry, but I assume that you have other Semblances, and some things are best done away from the eyes of children."
"You're right." Jason said. "Next is Cloak. As the name suggests, it cloaks a person so they can't be seen, smelled, heard, their presence can't be felt, and their Aura can't be felt. It is incredibly dangerous, and I know the person it's going to as soon as their training is complete."
"Whitley?" Weiss asked.
"Whitley." Jason confirmed.
"That is dangerous." Pietro said. "Are you sure that it should be given away?"
"I'll know when Whitley's training is complete."
"I see. Are you sure that's wise?"
"Like I said. I'll know when Whitley's training is complete. If I think it's not a good idea, then I won't give it to him. It's not like he even needs it anymore since he's already insanely strong as is, but he is going to be Weiss's bodyguard, head of security, and COO. CEO when Weiss and I go to Beacon for Hunter Training."
"I see. You have put a lot of thought into this."
"Yes, yes I have."
"What next?"
"Next is Multiple personality. As the name suggests it gives the wielder multiple personalities, and different abilities with each personality. An interesting Semblance if nothing else."
"I would say so."
"Next is Contagion. As the name suggests it causes a contagion to spread and that is also the reason why I will never let it out of my sight or use it except under the direst of circumstances."
"What is classified as the direst of circumstances?" Weiss and Pietro asked in unison.
"I hope that I never have to find out." Jason said.
"Agreed." Both said in unison again.
"Next is Confession. It makes whoever is under the effects tell the truth no matter how much they want to lie."
"Even the user?" Weiss asked.
"Even the user."
"Next is Hypnotic. It makes it so the user can hypnotize the person or people under the influence to do whatever the wielder wants the too with the stipulation that it is something that the person would already be willing to do, so if the person would be willing to commit murder, then you can make them murder someone and they'll take the blame, not you. The catch is that if they will only murder for a specific person or for a specific reason then you can't make them murder someone they wouldn't murder or without that specific reason. So, if they are looking for a six fingered man who murdered their father and that is the only person they will murder in cold blood. They will not murder someone who isn't the six fingered man who murdered their father. It just won't work that way."
"I see."
"That was an oddly specific example." Weiss said.
"Ruby's been obsessed with the Princess Bride and the Bridegroom." Jason explained.
"I haven't heard of the Bridegroom." Weiss said.
"Imagine the Princess Bride but everyone is Gender bent and what is done to Wesley Anne is... let's just say that there was good reason why Tai didn't want us watching it and that I had to buy Tai a brand-new Screen, woke everyone in the house up, Ruby doesn't want to watch the Bridegroom anymore, and I needed to talk with Dr. Thompkins a lot after that. It was bad."
"Brother's above." Weiss explained. "And Ruby watched that."
"Yes."
"Tai watched that?"
"He watched it once and meant to delete it but forgot about it."
"That sounds like a bad idea."
"He didn't expect me and Ruby to watch it." Jason said as he sent the memories of the movie across the bond and Weiss shivered and went pale.
"Shall we move on?" Pietro asked.
"Yes, let's." Weiss gulped.
"Next is Can't Catch Me." Jason breathed in a shaky breath. "It belonged to a monster in human skin."
Weiss gulped as she remembered Joker.
"He had the ability to keep five feet away from anyone at any given time. It made him incredibly annoying to fight and I practically had to kill myself to kill him. I ended up taking his Semblance, but I didn't remember doing so because I was so completely drained, and I didn't want anything to do with him that I more or less forgot about it until Weiss told me to remember how many Semblances I have."
"That could get very annoying to fight." Pietro said.
"Oh, it was. I finally stole his Semblance, stabbed a knife into his head and broke the blade off in his head, and decapitated him to make sure he was dead."
"Are you sure that that was necessary?"
"He tortured and sexually assaulted Weiss and told me that if I didn't kill him next time that he was going to kill her. I wasn't going to let him leave that place alive."
"Brothers above."
"Yeah. Moving on, my next semblance is called Venom. It allows me to amplify my strength by at least five and at most ten and I'm already incredibly strong."
"How strong daddy?" Frost asked.
"I was able to catch and hold up a portion of a collapsing ceiling of a mineshaft."
Pietro blinked at Jason, "Jason, how big was that portion of the ceiling."
"It took me, using venom, and six other people to hold it up and one other person turning the ceiling into sand to hold it up, so the others could escape, and it was heavy, and I lost strength until someone used a healing Semblance to heal me, and I became even stronger."
Pietro began writing a calculation in his scroll. "...carry the three, divide by seven..." Pietro dropped his scroll. "Jason. If I calculated this right, you are strong enough when using venom to crush boulders in your bare hands. You could potentially escape any cell, you could potentially throw a truck, you could do a great many things, and no one could stop you."
"I can already do a great many things that no one can stop me from doing." Jason explained.
Weiss smacked his shoulder.
"I am talking specifically with your strength, both on and off Venom."
"I didn't even realize that." Jason said.
"Would you be willing to let me run some experiments with you, later of course, but I would very much like to see what you are capable of with all of your semblances."
"Sure." Jason said. "I'll help if I can."
"Thank you. What is your next Semblance?"
"Kindred Link." Jason said. "It allows me to create a portal to anyone that I have a strong enough bond with."
"Fascinating. How strong does the bond have to be?"
"I felt it activate when Frost was born, I have a connection to Weiss since I was able to use it on her to get people out of the collapsing mine, and I was able to send the decapitated head of a Nuckleavee to my sister in order to kill it. So familial bond, I guess."
"Fascinating. What next?"
"Mukade allows me to cause pain with a single touch." Jason explained. "I took it from a guy who was using it to torture his family, and it had unforeseen consequences."
"May I ask what those consequences were?"
"Weiss and I took a break, and it was the worst week of my life. It felt like my heart had been ripped out of my chest and I was left hollow."
"Tell him why we took that break though." Weiss said.
"I shouted at Weiss." Jason said.
"And?" Weiss prodded.
"And I told her to shove the law up her ass." Jason went beet red from embarrassment.
"Daddy looks red." Frost said.
"I know." Jason said.
"Well, couples do fight." Pietro said.
"If anything, it made us stronger than ever." Weiss said. "Jason learns from his mistakes, most of the time, and the time away only drew us closer together rather than push us apart."
"I'm happy for you."
"Thank you." Jason and Weiss said.
"Next on the list is perhaps my most powerful Semblance ever." Jason said. "Not because it's physically powerful, but because of what it does."
"What does it do?"
"It's called Lazarus, and it makes me immortal."
Pietro stared at Jason with eyes filled with wonder. "Does it really?"
"Yes. It did make me immortal only so long as my head remained intact, but since Weiss and I sealed our souls together I am truly immortal. She can keep me alive even through the most grotesque wounds, and I can in turn keep her alive through the most grotesque of wounds."
"That will not be one the experiments I try." Pietro reassured. "I will take your word for it."
"Thank you." Jason said.
"You're most welcome."
"My final and original Semblance," Jason said. "Is my most versatile Semblance. It is called Penumbra Barrage, and it is incredible."
"What does it do."
"It gives me nearly complete control of the shadows themselves." Jason said.
Pietro's jaw dropped. "How did you get a Semblance that strong?"
"A Semblance is like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it gets. I have used my Semblance a lot, and it has gotten very strong."
"I see. You might be the strongest person I know."
"There are at least four or five people that can stop me if they put their minds to it."
"Relly?"
"I'm pretty sure that statement is false." Weiss said.
"What? Why?" Jason asked. "I thought having people stronger than me was a good thing."
"Yes and no. It's a good thing in that you aren't all powerful, but if you put your mind to it, then you would be able to beat them."
Jason thought about that, and he could think of things that he could do to beat a few of them.
"Jason." Weiss said. "You could probably kill Salem with all of the Semblances you have. Or at least stall her long enough to find a way to kill her. Plus, you still need to take out Cinder and steal her Semblance, whatever it is."
"I'll be right back." Jason said, dropping into his Shadow.
"Why is Jason killing this Cinder person and this Salem person?" Pietro asked.
"Cinder is the most powerful opponent we have ever faced, and Salem wants to genocide the world." Weiss explained.
"Brothers above." Pietro said.
"That's why Jason is killing them."
"I see."
Weiss was about to say something when she was pulled through her shadow and into a nightmare.
Pietro and Frost both felt Jason's shadow's leave them, and it felt a little lonelier without them.
Jason appeared out of Cinder's shadow and punched her with the All-Caste punch taking her Semblance, Scorching Caress, before hitting her with Aura Disruption and Lightning Strike. "Can't get much more Max Distance than lightning." He said before kicking the pile of ash.
"CINDER!" Two familiar voices shouted.
Jason grabbed their shadows and pulled them into his Shadow Realm before he lashed out and punched them with an All-Caste punch each and took their Semblances, turns out that the All-Caste punch could negate magic, who knew? From Bronze he took his Aura negating Semblance, and from Mocha he took her speed Semblance feeling his brain think at hyper speed now he activated Bronze's Aura Disruption Semblance and hit both of them with Lightning Strike. "Too easy." He said before walking up to the castle where he could smell Salem.
Salem knew that an intruder had trespassed, and she knew that he had killed Cinder, Bronze, and Mocha. This was the angriest she had been at another person since Ozma. She loathed this man for killing her family. He would die. He may be strong enough to kill Bronze and Mocha, but his arrogance would be his downfall, and he would die.
Jason stalked through the Grimm wasteland using Cloak, Nerve, Can't Catch Me, and Premonition To keep away from the Grimm and made it to Salem's castle before kicking the door off its hinges.
Glowing Golden cat's eyes cut through the darkness seeing everything that the darkness hid until he came upon a pair of glowing red eyes from the darkness.
"Another fool come to die?" Salem asked.
"The only fool is you." Jason bit out. "You weren't strong enough to keep Ozma alive and you blamed everyone else for his death and waged war against forces that you had no business fighting. Now you need to be put down like the rabid dog you are."
Salem bit back rage and looked at the intruder. "Are you saying that you could keep your loved ones safe?" she asked caustically.
"There has only been one person that I haven't been able to protect, and it was because of you. I hope you take some comfort in knowing that the reason you are dying is because of the same reason you became "Immortal". Personally, I think it's Ironic as hell."
"So I am the reason someone you loved died, too bad that you have only come to die."
"I'm a lot harder to kill than you think bitch!" Jason snapped.
"How vulgar." Salem scolded.
Jason pointed at Salem and lightning struck her at fifty thousand degrees, enough to kill a normal person without Aura, but Salem would be tricker to deal with. He immediately charged, punching Salem with Scorching Carress, punching her into a wall and fusing her head and the wall together before doing the same to her hands. "Now." He spoke. "I'll just take my time ripping you apart and killing you until you stay dead."
"I think not!" A bellowing voice boomed.
Jason looked around and saw a familiar face walking towards him. "Detective Montgomery?" He asked.
"Hey kid." Montgomery said.
"What are you doing here?"
"I can't let you kill Salem, not yet at least. I have at least eight more years planned, and I can't have you stopping my fun."
"What? Salem is the most dangerous person on Remnant. She needs to be put down as soon as possible."
"No. Salem is not the most dangerous person on Remnant. That honor belongs to me. If you want to kill Salem, you have to go through me."
Jason pulled Weiss, Ruby, Oscar, Jaune, Coral, Ozpin, and Jaq through his shadow before calling back every shadow clone he had ever made. He was going to need it. "We're killing Salem here and now Detective Montgomery." Jason declared.
"Now where's the fun in that?" Montgomery asked. "There's no build up, no grand final battle, no "FOR FRODO!" moment. I'm bored, and I want some excitement."
"Yeah, no." Weiss said. "Salem is too dangerous to be kept alive."
"When I want Samuel L. Jackson's opinion, I'll go to the Star Wars universe!" Montgomery snapped at Weiss. "Until then, shut up before I shut you up!"
Jason let out an Alpha Pulse in Montgomery's direction. "Talk to my wife like that again, and I'll kill you."
"Right." Montgomery laughed a sadistic laugh. "As if you could actually do that. This is the one hundredth time we've had this fight, what makes you think that you will be able to do any better than you did the last ninety-nine times? Even last time, you lived a long happy life, and even though you beat me, I was able to reset reality just before you delivered the killing blow. Do you think that you can kill me quick enough before I reset reality again?"
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Coral demanded.
"Oh, right, you weren't their last time. Basically, I'm bored. So, I wanted a good fight. I decided to make my own fun. I was going to create the ultimate warrior so we could have the ultimate showdown. I took this universes Anchor and decided to see just how badly I could break him. I was hoping that if I broke him enough that it would push him to become the ultimate warrior."
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Jason is this universes Anchor, now you know. Jason was taken from his world and brought to this one because all y'all were too stupid to fix this universe on your own, so Jason was brought in to stabilize the universe and give you lot a fighting chance, but there had been a mistake, and I had been sent here millennia before Jason. I was trapped on this world with no one else. I scoured the land searching for anyone, which only took like two minutes, and when I found no one, I decided to make some people. I created some friends. Then those two losers showed up and tried killing us, but I can't die. I made those two my bitches. They tried killing me and I broke them until they served me. They did whatever I told them too after I broke them, and I mean, WHATEVER I told them to."
"Are you okay?" Ruby asked.
"NO! I AM NOT OKAY! I WAS LEFT ON THIS SHITTY WORLD FOR HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF MILLIONS OF YEARS! That's when I got the idea to have fun. I decided to make the God of Light and Darkness my bitches, I changed their genders around so I would have someone to fuck every night, and when I wanted to fuck a dude or be fucked by a dude, I just changed them back, or I changed myself into a woman, you gotta take your fucks where you can get them, right? So, after we populated the planet, we lived as gods... well, one god and his bitches. Then I got bored, so I created Ozma and Salem, and started the process all over again. I trapped Salem in her tower, had Ozma go save her, and then I took Ozma away from Salem just to see what would happen. I had my bitches take the blame for it, and Salem tried killing them, that's when I had the idea of what would happen if someone was thrown into the Grimm Tar. So, I told Salem that if she threw herself into the Grimm Tar that she could die. I also erased my bitches' memories and made them think that they were the only gods for Remnant, and they created their Heralds and the Alpha. Nope. Those were just our first seven children. Do you realize how much power gets siphoned off the first few kids? My god, that was intense. I nursed one of them, and damn, the abomination just didn't want to let go."
"You're obviously insane." Oscar said. "You think that you are the god of this world? That's crazy."
"Is it though?" Montgomery asked, twisting his head around to look Oscar in the eyes while upside down. "Is it really?"
"Yes."
"Continuing on with the story! I became Salem's first child with Ozma, and then made them forget about me."
"Why!" Weiss asked.
"So, I could have fun later!" Montgomery snapped. "They repopulated the planet after my bitches left and Ozma and Salem had their daughter's, the maidens, and then Salem had to kill them. So sad, but fear not, because someone showed up to comfort Salem."
"You?" Jason asked at the same time that Montgomery shouted. "ME! Okay. You get the timeout box until you can learn not to interrupt my story!" Montgomery flicked his hand and Jason struck Montgomery with Lightning before disappearing for a second only to come back in far worse shape than he'd gone away in, and Weiss crumpled to the ground from the pain that Jason was in.
Jason came back covered in holes that were strategically placed to keep him from dying quickly and painlessly.
"Interrupt me again, and Wifey goes in next!" Montgomery shouted.
Jason grabbed Montgomery by his shadow and dragged him into his Shadow Realm before dropping himself into his Shadow Realm. "Kill Salem." He said as he descended.
Jason grabbed Montgomery by his hair and pulled his head back, so he had to look at him. "Threaten my wife again and I will do far worse." He said as he slammed Montgomery's head into his knee and kicked him away.
Ten other figures appeared in the Shadow Realm and a voice appeared in Jason's head. "Jason." The voice said, "I am sorry for what was done to you, but until this point, I was unable to stop Montgomery. Here are ten others who will help you defeat Montgomery but be careful. Once they disappear, they will be gone until they are able to be summoned naturally. The only reason I am able to do this is because you are in a reality outside of your universe. Now, fight, win, and I will see you sooner than you think."
Each figure wore similar battle gear and readied themselves for battle, and Jason watched as shadow figures that he didn't control stepped up to help him fight a battle he didn't know he could win, not after Montgomery locked him in an Iron Maiden for Centuries... wait, how did he know it was called an Iron Maiden? Questions for later, time to kill.
One figure pulled twin cylinders from his hips and activated an orange-red blade and a blue blade that seemed to calm the air around them.
Another figure held their hand up, did martial arts and slammed Montgomery into the ground without touching him before he flung Montgomery around the Realm and into the figure with the orange and blue blades, keeping him moving so he couldn't get any traction, but Montgomery still refused to die.
A third figure picked up Montgomery's heart and did something that changed it from muscle to metal before Montgomery pulled himself back together metal heart and all.
A fourth figure tossed grenades into Montgomery's body as it healed itself and waited for the explosion to go off before the second figure struck Montgomery with lightning.
Jason joined in, striking Montgomery with Lighting and punching Montgomery with Scorching Caress, fusing him to the only thing that wasn't made of shadow. The truck that he stole from the very first assassin that had tried killing him. Keeping Montgomery from being able to move.
A fifth figure took out a gun and fired everything into Montgomery. Jason could smell that the bullets were dipped in poison, and not just one type of poison, so many different types of poison that Jason wondered how the person had gotten ahold of that many kinds of poison.
A sixth person ran at Montgomery with a suit made of literal fire and began attacking him while saying a prayer.
A seventh person ran at Montgomery with a sword and decapitated him, sending his head flying into another person with a cutlass that cleaved his head in half before this eighth person pulled out a flintlock and shot Montgomery.
A ninth person shouted loud enough to make the Shadow Realm shake before his hair turned silvery white and he pulled his hands back to unleash a powerful beam attack that practically melted Montgomery's body, but didn't do nearly enough damage since Montgomery just reformed himself and began a counterattack.
Montgomery killed nearly everyone in Jason's Shadow Realm except Jason himself and someone that Jason couldn't see, but he could smell.
Jason sent Lightning at Montgomery which seemed to be even more useful now that Montgomery's heart was made of metal. He followed up by kicking Montgomery out of his Shadow Realm and looking around his Shadow Realm and seeing someone who looked exactly like him. "Who are you?" He asked.
"The question you're looking for is who are we?" The other him said. "We will talk later, after you have killed Montgomery. It's sad to see one go dark side, but it does happen. Remember that no matter how strong Montgomery seems, you're stronger, we are always stronger than the Montgomery's of our world. We have to be, in case one ever goes dark side. Now, go kick his ass."
Jason dove out of his Shadow Realm and delivered a kick into Montgomery's dick that sent him flying into the sky before Jason struck him with lighting again used Signature Move to appear behind Montgomery and slam him into the ground before hitting him with lightning again.
When Jason told the others to attack Salem they didn't hesitate. They charged with weapons drawn and ready for a fight.
Salem could feel Ozma coming towards her and her rage was fueled by loathing. She ripped her head and hands from the wall and stalked towards the group her face regrowing as her red eyes glared death at Ozma, as her rage solidified into a sword that she swung at Ozma only for something to slam into her and send her flying.
Jason appeared out of nowhere and glared at Salem and Montgomery.
"I'm here too!" Frost said.
"FROST!" Jason and Weiss shouted.
Montgomery charged Jason, tackling him away.
"FROST!" Weiss shouted. "What are you doing here?!"
"I wanted to help Mommy and daddy!" Frost snapped back.
"FROST!" Jason snapped as he ran past them dragging Montgomery's face along the ground. "PUNCH SALEM! THINK ABOUT PUNCHING HER AWAY FROM REMNANT! FAR AWAY!"
"WHAT!" Weiss shouted.
"GUYS!" Oscar shouted. "SALEM IS GETTING UP!"
"On it!" Ruby shouted, aiming for Salem and shooting her with the special ammo that Jason had made.
Salem flew into the wall and cratered it before flying through.
Jaune charged through the hole and slashed 'Redeemer's Blade' across Salem's back before she backhanded him into the wall and charged him, grabbing him by the throat and crushed his throat trying to squeeze the life out of him.
"Let him go." Coral said in a voice that wasn't quite normal before she stabbed her claws into Salem's back and ripped her from Jaune and slammed her into the floor before curb stomping her face into the ground.
Weiss pulled Jaune and Coral out of the room before Oscar and Ozpin blasted Salem with their canes, hoping that the combined Magics would kill her.
Salem pushed through the beams of concentrated Magic before she grabbed Ozpin by the throat. "DIE!" she shrieked, snapping Ozpin's neck.
Oscar used his Semblance to rewind time and try from a different angle.
Ruby shot Salem with another round and Frost ran at Salem, punching her while activating her Semblance, sending Salem flying into the sky, and flinging her past the atmosphere and into space.
"NNOOO!" Montgomery shouted, punching Frost hard enough to send her flying through the castle and ripped her head off before tossing it into a lake of Grimm tar.
"FROST!" Jason and Weiss shouted, their eye's glowing green. "NNOOO!"
A wave of Aura erupted from the grieving parents. Their Aura's pulsed with agony.
Weiss flashed forward and punched Montgomery hard enough to send him into a rock formation that shattered from the force. Jason jumped from Weiss's shadow and delivered a double-fisted attack into Montgomery's chest before Weiss flung herself forward with her shadow arms and delivered an axe kick that sent Montgomery deeper into the earth before Jason grabbed him by his shadow and threw him into the air before Weiss grabbed him with her shadow arms and slammed him back into the ground.
Jason unleashed an Alpha pulse before aiming his hand into the hole Montgomery was in and fired the energy, he'd "harnessed" into the hole destroying everything around him for miles.
Following Montgomery's scent, he pulled himself and Weiss into the shadows and found Montgomery trying to escape. Weiss grabbed him with her Shadow Arms and broke his back on a rock and threw his body to Jason who pressed his hands against Montgomery's head, crushing it before striking Montgomery with Lightning and using Scorching Carress to twist and shape Montgomery's body into a shape that was not anatomically possible before he shattered the glasslike structure against his knee.
Not giving Montgomery a chance to breath Weiss froze him with Ice Dust before Jason grabbed it and smashed it against the ground, hoping that would do it, but not taking any chances he fused the pieces back together and shattered it again and again until he was breathless.
Weiss froze Montgomery again and dropped him into Jason's shadow.
Jason and Weiss's eyes went from green to their normal colors. Tears streamed down their cheeks, and they sobbed their anguish into the sky.
"Mommy? Daddy?" Frost asked. "What's wrong?"
"Frost?" The grieving parents asked.
"Yes?" Their perfectly fine daughter asked.
"FROST!" The parents shouted, smothering their daughter with worry and affection.
"How did you survive?" Weiss asked.
"Mom." Frost said in a flawless Ice Princess persona. "My Semblance is Spatial Manipulation. Do you honestly think that Montgomery could hurt me if he really wanted to? Besides I am a synthetic human. You couldn't hurt me if you tried."
"WANNA BET!" Montgomery shouted, appearing behind Frost.
"Will you shut up!" Frost snapped. "If you want to hear your voice so badly then here ya go!" She snapped her fingers, and Montgomery was pulled into a pocket dimension.
Jason and Weiss looked at their daughter. How powerful was their daughter?
"Where did you send him?" Weiss asked.
"To a place where noise generates hurricane level winds that cut like razor blades." Frost said matter-of-factly.
Jason and Weiss hugged their daughter. "I'm just happy you're safe baby girl." Jason said.
"How are you so good with your Semblance after only a few hours?" Weiss asked.
"I'm a synthetic human mom." Frost said. "I can think at least five times faster than a normal human. I figured out human speech while you, dad, and father were talking. I figured out how my Semblance works while you were talking about dad's Semblances."
"Oh, thank the brothers!" Weiss hugged Frost.
"Mom. I'm okay."
"I know. I know. I'm just worried. You're so young."
"Mom. I'm a synthetic human. You don't have to worry."
"I know, but I do."
"Just let your mother worry about you." Jason said. "We thought that we lost you three years ago, and we just found out that we didn't."
"I hate to break up this happy reunion." Montgomery said. "Wait, no I don't! FUCK YOU!" He kicked Jason away before grabbing Weiss. "I hope you like tight cramped spaces with lots of poking, because you're going to be stuck there for a while." He threw her into a portal he created.
Jason charged Montgomery only to fall to his knees, hugging his body as he felt Weiss's pain through their bond.
Frost felt something that she couldn't explain. She felt her core heat and felt fluid leak from her eyes. "You hurt my parents." She sobbed.
"Oh boo hoo!" Montgomery snapped. "You won't feel this much longer. I'm about to reset everything."
"YOU HURT MOMMY AND DADDY!" Frost shouted. Her Semblance activating, placing a bloodstained Weiss on the ground and freezing Montgomery in place. "Let's see how you like it!" She snapped. placing Montgomery in the Iron Maiden, but keeping it locked so he couldn't get out.
"Weiss." Jason wheezed. "Weiss!" He crawled over to her, seeing her hole riddled body. "Weiss! No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Weiss. Please! No! Brother's above NO!"
"I think that's the first time I've ever heard you invoke the brother's name." Weiss Wheezed.
"WEISS!" Jason shouted, peppering her face with kisses. "Oh, thank the brother's you're okay."
Frost came over and knelt down next to her parents and started crying. "Are you guy's okay?" She sobbed.
Weiss raised a hand towards Frost who took her hand and held it to her face. "I'm okay Frost. If your dad hadn't given me an immortality Semblance, then I would probably be dead right now."
Jason started crying. "Brother's above!" He sobbed, wiping his eyes. "I am so glad I gave you that now." He said as tears streamed down his face.
"It kind of sucks that I can't die in a situation like that though." Weiss said.
Jason kissed Weiss. "Never scare me like that again." He spoke.
"I didn't choose to be put in that situation." Weiss whined.
"I know." Jason hugged her. "I know. I am going to pamper the hell out of you when we get back."
"What about you?" Weiss asked. "Montgomery did it to you too." Weiss reminded.
"I'm more used to pain than you." Jason said.
"That's not a good excuse." Weiss said, sitting up, her body healing from the damage she'd endured.
Frost helped her parents up and walked back to where Salem's castle had been.
"Weiss!" Ruby shouted. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Weiss said. "Jason got hurt too."
"Jason can take it. I didn't know you could too."
"Not until recently." Weiss said.
"Not after I'm finished with you!" Montgomery shouted, completely full of holes and bleeding.
There was an explosion and Ruby shot Montgomery in the head with one of the special rounds that Jason had created. Weiss froze Montgomery before Frost waved her hand and Montgomery disappeared before appeared in a sadistic looking coffin that was frozen shut. Finally, Jason dropped the coffin into his Shadow Realm.
"Is it over?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah." Jason sighed. "I think it's over."
"Thank you!" Ruby sat down and lay on the ground.
Jason dropped everyone into his Shadow Realm and dropped them in Vale. "Let's eat." He spoke.
"Seconded." Weiss said.
"Can we get something super unhealthy?" Ruby asked.
"Seconded." Oscar said.
"I will leave you all to your celebration." Professor Ozpin said. "I will also be sending you each a Hunter's License so you will be able to act freely and at your pleasure, but please, make sure to come to Beacon Academy so you are recorded as official Hunters though."
"Will do professor." Jason said, as the team and synthetic human headed for a place to eat as onlookers watched the group in shock and awe.
"Ruby?" Tai asked. "Jason? Jaune?"
"Dad?" Jason asked.
"Uncle-Dad Tai?" Ruby asked.
"Professor Tai?" Jaune asked
"Kids! Where are you going? Where were you? Who are these others with you?"
"This is Weiss." Jason and Ruby said in unison. "She is my Fiancée." Jason explained.
"F-f-f-fiancée!" Tai shouted. "Jason! Do you even know what a Fiancée is? What that even means?"
"Yes. This was a business matter dad." Jason said. "Weiss and I are engaged to be married once we turn eighteen. We are uniting the Todd Import/Export Company and the Schnee Dust Company through our union, and hopefully Jacques will be behind bars long before we are married, if not that will be the first thing we do as a couple."
"WHY!?"
"Jacques is the one sending the assassins after me, dad." Jason explained.
Tai went rigid and his jaw tightened.
"Dad." Jason said. "Believe me. I want to take my foot and plant it between Jacques's lungs and colon same as you, but Weiss has a plan to make his life a living hell, way worse than anything you or I could do."
Tai took a breath. "Okay." Tai said. "Okay. What happened to you two?" He took off his vest and placed it on Weiss to offer some level of decency to her since her outfit was full of holes.
"Training accident." Jason, Weiss, Ruby, and Oscar said.
"Jaune?" Tai asked. "How did Weiss and Jason end up in this condition?"
Jaune looked from Jason, Weiss, Ruby and Oscar to Tai. "We were fighting two rogue Hunters and one of their Semblances made Jason and Weiss disappear and when they came back, they were like that." Jaune explained.
Tai looked from Jaune to Jason and Weiss back to Jaune back to Jason and Weiss. "Hospital. Now." He pointed.
"We're fine dad." Jason said. "We're fine."
"Not until a doctor says you are okay."
"Dad." Jason said.
"JASON!" Tai snapped, causing everyone to look at them. "Jason." Tai said in a calmer voice. "Despite the fact that you and Ruby will be grounded for fighting not one, but two rogue Hunters, Jaune will have Detention at School, you and Weiss were affected by an unknown Semblance that could have unknown side effects. You need to be checked out by a doctor to make sure that you are okay. Okay?" Tai said as he felt tears roll down his face. "I almost lost you and Ruby. Ruby and Qrow just got Summer back, Summer just got back to her family, and you two almost got killed. Not to mention that Weiss's family almost lost her, Jaune's family almost lost him, and this young man and young woman's families almost lost them. Do you have any idea what it's like to nearly lose a child? Brother's above Jason." Tai broke down and started crying.
Jason went to say something, but Weiss elbowed him in the side. "Okay; dad." Jason said. "Okay. We'll go to the hospital."
Tai wiped his eyes and looked up at Jason. "Thank you, Jason, but you're still grounded."
"I know."
"Good. Now, let's get you all to the hospital."
Without anything being said the group headed to the hospital.
Meanwhile
Inside Jason's Shadow Realm, tendrils grabbed the sarcophagus that had become Montgomery's prison and pulled it out of the world of JADE, freeing the world of Montgomery's influence. Without Montgomery and Salem, the world could heal and go back to its natural order. The world would still need Hunter's to protect them, but without the influence of Remnants greatest sources of darkness it wouldn't be as dangerous. The Grimm would still hunt, but they were now mindless beasts roaming around rather than a loaded weapon aimed at specific targets. The likelihood of them swarming was much lower, and the Hunter's would be better able to defend the people of Remnant against them. Remnant was a much safer place now.
Sanjay Tawde was in his family's basement when he felt like he could actually leave. He still had a concussion, but he could leave and get help.
Crawling out of his family's basement he crawled to the door and outside where he was found by a couple who picked him up and carried him towards the hospital.
Jason, Weiss, Ruby, Oscar, Jaune, Frost, and Tai sat in the waiting room at the hospital waiting to be seen when the doors opened, and Coral and Loki ran in with an unconscious child.
"Loki? Coral?" Jason asked.
"Jason?" Loki and Coral asked in unison.
"What are you doing here?" The trio asked in unison.
"Dad is forcing us to get checked out by a doctor." Jason said.
"We found this unconscious child." Coral said.
"Jason Todd." A doctor said.
"Let's just get this over with." Jason sighed, walking into the back with the doctor, Tai following. "I'm fine doc, just sign the paperwork so I can get on with my grounding."
"What do you mean?"
"My dad is going to ground me."
"Tell him why." Tai said.
"I fought two Rogue Hunters and was affected by an unknown Semblance that had an unknown side effect."
"Is that why you are in such a state of dress?" The doctor motioned at Jason's outfit that had holes all over it."
"Yes."
"Okay. Let's see what the damage is."
The doctor looked over Jason and couldn't find anything. "I can't find anything wrong with your son, it's as though the only thing wrong with him is the clothing."
"Are you sure?"
"Unless you would like to do a full array of tests to make sure that everything down to the molecular level is fine, yes."
"Do it." Tai said.
"That would be incredibly expensive."
"Damn the cost!" Tai snapped. "I just want to make sure my children are okay."
"Very well. I will order the tests. You will be staying here for the next several days."
"Damn it dad!" Jason snapped. "I have thing's I need to do! Responsibilities!"
"Then you should have thought about that before you went off to fight two Rogue Hunters!" Tai shouted back.
"YOU'RE WELCOME FOR SAVING YOUR LIFE!" Jason shouted back.
"Jason!" Weiss shouted, stepping of his shadow. "Calm down. Okay. We just got out of a life and death battle. We've been going at the problem for the last three years. Take this time to recover, besides. You have your Semblance, you can just..."
Weiss was cut off as a nurse came in and placed a cuff on Jason's wrist. "I'm sorry, but we can't allow you to use your Semblance during the tests, it might interfere with the machines."
Jason suddenly felt sick as his Semblances were cut off. He felt cold, sick, and alone. He began flashing back to that night, the night that he had to fight the Hound without his Soul. He couldn't do that again, wouldn't do that again. He would kill the Hound before it had the chance to hurt him, or Weiss, or Frost, of their friends.
"Jason." Weiss said. "Jason. You are safe. You are not in danger. Jason. TAI!" Weiss sapped.
Tai looked at Jason who had lunged at the nurse, eyes murderous and filled with rage. He grappled Jason and pinned him to the ground. "JASON! You aren't in danger! You are safe! You aren't in danger! Jason! Listen to me! You are safe! Do you understand?"
Weiss grabbed Jason and held him using her arms to keep everyone away. "Jason!" She spoke. "You are safe! Okay. You are safe. Listen to my voice. Follow my voice. You are safe. You are safe. Frost! Come here!"
Frost came in and saw her father on the floor, shivering and hyperventilating. "Who hurt daddy?" she asked, her voice full of venom. "Whoever hurt him will die!"
"Frost!" Weiss snipped. "We're over here. Come here."
Frost walked over to Weiss and Jason and knelt down, hugging Jason, causing him to flinch, but relax when he realized who it was.
Weiss took the cuff off and Jason jolted, gulping in huge lungsful of air and gasping.
"That's not normal, is it?" Tai asked.
"No." The doctor said. "No, it is not. That is a symptom of Soul Trauma."
"Soul Trauma!" Tai shouted. "SOUL TRAUMA!"
"Yes. There is only one way that I know of to fix it."
"How?"
"We have to put Jason in a medically induced Coma and shut off his Soul in order to let it fully recharge."
"Good luck with that." Jason said, disappearing into his shadow.
"Jason!" Tai shouted. "Jason!" Tai tried dropping into his shadow, but Jason took away his access to his Shadow Realm.
Weiss knew that it wasn't their fault, but she was pissed. They didn't know that cutting of Jason's Aura would send him into a blood rage, but they could have at least warned him of the side effects, they could have sat him down and talked to him, she could have held his hand and reassured him that everything was all right. Did they do that? No. Should they have? Yes. Was she going to chew them out for that? Definitely. Drawing up every ounce of her Ice Queen Persona, she glared at the doctor, the nurse, and Tai.
"Oh no." Jaune flinched when he saw Weiss's Ice Queen Persona.
"What?" Ruby asked, looking at Weiss, and grabbed Jaune and Oscar before running them out of the room, hoping to avoid the worst of Weiss's fury.
"Way to go assholes!" Weiss bit out, her voice as frigid as an Atlesian Winter. "I know it's not what you intended, but your little stunt has cost you the chance to heal Jason! You scared him! Made him feel weak and vulnerable, and you sent him running! Why the fuck didn't you at least explain to him what the cuff would do! Why didn't you sit him down and talk to him! Why didn't you take the time to fucking think!"
"We've done this before." The doctor said. "We've never had a reaction this badly before."
"So, you just think that since you've never seen this reaction before that no one will ever react this way, is that it?! What! Did you pull your diploma out of a box of Captain Jack's popcorn! I thought that you were professionals! No! This never would have happened if you had taken Jason's word, or you had taken him to Atlas!" Weiss snapped at Tai. "I know that you are his father and mean well, but didn't you at least look into Jason's past!? Didn't you think that you should at least TRY and find out about his past! Now! If you will excuse me! I am going to go to Jason! It will be his choice whether he returns here for care or not! I just hope that you haven't caused too much damage!" Weiss dropped the Ice Queen Persona and held her hand out to Frost. "Frost, come on baby girl. We're going to see daddy."
Frost took Weiss's hand and together they walked into Weiss's shadow, Frost sticking her tongue out at the doctor, nurse, and Tai.
Tai felt as though he had been struck, and the doctor and nurse weren't sure how to feel.
"Fuck." Tai said.
Weiss and Frost appeared in Jason's shadow Realm and saw that it was different, more defensive. "Jason!" Weiss called out. "Don't worry. Frost and I are the only one's here."
"I'm so cold." Jason said. "I feel so cold, and weak. I hate this. I hate feeling this weak. The last time I was this weak, San died, Scott was burned so bad that his skin melted, and I went into a coma for five months. Thy want to put me into another coma Weiss. They want to make me weak and vulnerable again. I don't think I can handle that again. If I woke up and something else happened? I don't think I would be able to handle it."
"Scott ran into that building after you because he thought that he could help! He was wrong! San ran in after Scott trying to stop him! He was also wrong! The only actions you have to answer for are your own! You fought the Hound! You dropped the building on yourself! That is ALL you have to answer for! I won't make you go back to the hospital, hell, I won't even make you go back to Vale. You can live wherever you want, but you are not leaving Frost and I behind; you got that."
"Yeah." Jason said. "Yeah."
"Good. Now, where do you want to go?"
"I think I actually need to go back to the hospital." Jason said, stepping from a shadow, looking gaunt and sickly.
"JASON!" Weiss shouted, running for him, catching him as he fell. "Jason!" She shook his chest. "Jason! No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. Jason! Come on! Come back to me! Jason! Come back!" Looking around, she jumped through a shadow and landed in the hospital again. "Somebody, get help!" She shouted.
Nurses and doctors rushed over to her, pulling Jason from her arms, beginning to work on him.
"What happened?" A doctor asked.
"Soul Searing." Weiss said. "Left side, under his eye!"
"How is he still alive?"
"His Semblance."
"Let's get him to the Infirmary."
"Miss Schnee?" General Ironwood asked. "What happened?"
"Jason was Soul Seared." Weiss said.
"Soul Seared!? I'm sorry."
"Thank you. I was told that he needs to have his Soul shut off and that will allow him the best chance to heal."
"That is what they do, but the victims don't tend to wake up from those Coma's, but I'm sure that if anyone can, it will be Mr. Todd."
"Jason will wake up! It's just a matter of time."
"Of course. If you'll excuse me, I have some business to attend to." Ironwood said, leaving.
Weiss walked to the infirmary and walked in as they flashed a light onto Jason's face, and she could see the letter "J" burned into his face. She felt rage engulf her, dropping to her knees, she hugged herself and roared out in rage, her Shadow Arms reaching into her shadow and searching for the Joker who had Soul Seared Jason. While she was at it, she looked for the other two.
Scouring Remnant, she looked for the three Joker's. Finally finding them, she pulled them into the shadows and out of her shadow, ripping them apart, in front of the medical staff, drenched in their blood, she looked at Jason and Seethed: "No one hurts my husband again." Before walking to the infirmary shower to clean herself from the slaughter. It was a good thing that this dress was ruined, but she was also a little upset that she ruined Tai's vest that he had given her to cover up her hole-riddled dress. She would have to buy him a new one to apologize for ruining this one.
The doctors and nurses watched Weiss leave for the shower and shuddered. They were going to stay as far away as possible from Weiss Schnee if they could. She was incredibly dangerous, and slightly unhinged. What would she do to them if they couldn't revive Jason Todd? Would they die like those three? Was that a warning to do their best or she would replace them? They were unsure, but they weren't going to give her any bad news, ever; they liked living.
