PREVIOUS CHAPTER REVIEWS/COMMENTS
AO3 Earth_Dragoon: Oh I hope Mic points out during the festival that Bakugo was expelled and that the HPSC forced UA to take him back and that any harm Bakugo does is the HPSC's fault and not UA's.
Response: I can assure you he will be tempted to do so, but even he will be weary with how he words it for legal and political reasons. But yes, he will make sure to at least say something for Nezu to fall back on later IF something actually happens.
AO3 JoseRamiro: Cool job with all the students, and yeah, Bakugo really had a very negative impact on his class and the whole hero course.
Response: Thanks for the compliment. For the negative impact, is it in just my story or in cannon also? Cause personally I say both as in my own opinion. Though Aizawa lack of teaching was most of the reason for most of 1-A making barely if any progress. It probably did not help that UA more or less praised Bakugo bad attitude enforcing the idea that their quirk was the only important thing about them the school cared about.
AUTHORS NOTE
Here is the reveal of the start of 1-B training for the sports festival as well as how a fourth of 1-A compares. This chapter may seem repetitive, but I felt it deserved better than just me listing off times they got for each obstacle. So I hope you enjoying reading how they overcome each one.

IZUKU MIDORIYA POV
Surrounded by enemies I stood shoulder to shoulder with Tetsu and Kendo as we were at the forefront of the pack with my only friend who transferred from 1-A to 1-B with me at my back. Even so I saw no reason to worry for once in my life as I had my classmates, my friends by my side. Giving a subtle nod to Tetsu and Kendo after locking eyes with each of them by means of a sideways glance getting nods and smiles from both of them. "All right everyone… let show them that we are heroes, NOT THEIR PREY!" I told everyone as we ran into the fight before us in groups.

GYM GAMMA
THIRD PERSON POV
Since it was made purely out of concrete, it was nowhere near as difficult as he originally designed it. But it was still significantly difficult enough to make it clear to all of them that it would be a struggle for them to complete on their first try.
Starting from the first obstacle onward, he proudly told his students of his setup. "The first up on your lists to tackle is basically running through tires, or rather cement versions stuck in the ground. So be careful with your steps if you don't want to go on a trip." Vlad told them laughing at the looks some of them were giving the tire run.
"Second up will be monkey bars, and you need to climb across them so no falling down and just restarting." He told them, eyeing specific students that he knew would be smartasses with technicalities. With Izuku and Kendo already looking between the smaller classmates and the bars. Seemingly already figured out the best people for the job.
"Third one for you all to tackle is a small pit filled with little pillars for you to run on top of, but some are more unstable than others. Which are randomized each time that part of the course is reset for the next team, so I recommend you watch your footing." Vlad King told his students, seeing how some of them frowned when he mentioned it was reset every time.
'Did they really think I wouldn't reset it to maintain the main element of surprise that makes this task difficult?' Cementoss internally questioned as he had to put effort to avoid showing his worry over this naive mindset many of them showed him.
"Fourth for you all to overcome is a standard climbing wall, it's only twenty feet tall but since we don't have rope it has jutting out footholds." Once again, both teachers noticed how some seemed to underestimate it while others were understanding how time consuming this could be compared to other parts.
"Fifth and finally is a thin beam going across a deeper pit than the previous one, so don't look down if you're still faint hearted." He told them, knowing this one required the most amount of balance and speed. The beam would be more difficult to cross overtime as one's legs became more tired and their feet more numb as they went. Now they could use their hands, but that would take longer to climb across, so flyers were something the two teachers thought would be best here.
"I want the groups in reverse order of introduction to start the course, the first group up will have five minutes to decide who does what. I also want the other groups to discuss who will do what as all other groups following will only have one minute at most to discuss their roles further. Don't forget when switching to a new teammate you must tag, slap, fist bump, and any other form of touching to 'pass the torch' so to speak." Vlad King told them, already discussing further away from the students what Cementoss dealt with before coming here.
Jiro would have tried to listen in to the teachers, but they took her hearing into account when they made the distance between them. So instead, she listened in to the other students and was shocked to hear how quickly and more organized they were in comparison to their class. But very quickly the five minutes were up, and the students began gathering at their spots when they saw the two teachers walking towards them.
Taking the tire run as his body was the largest, Bondo took the hit there knowing he would have a harder time with his physique for the others. Though Monoma pointed out that he was never told he had to handle it the normal way. As a result… Bondo followed what would seem to be bad advice when first heard, which was to use his quirk. Except he purposely made a very fluid and non-sticky version of his glue as a lubricant.
Though it helped him, it also caused him to stumble forward and fall on his ass as he flipped over the last two steps. His large body frame was good for defense, but his nimbleness was definitely lacking when compared to pro heroes with a similarly large body frame. As a result, his time was still probably going to be near the bottom when compared to others.
00:00:12:943
"Good Job Bondo, leave it to me!" Komori told him as she slapped his hand, rushing to the monkey bars while talking. It was certainly not going to be easy on her, but she was the lightest out of her teammates. So even with very little muscle, she was still going to have the easiest time with this except for Monoma who needed to tackle the last two.
Using her momentum as she leapt up to the first bar, with the goal to cover as much distance as she could before her momentum died on her. In fact, it was Monoma advice that she was following, as a result she managed to cover half the distance before she lost the momentum from her jump. Even if she accidently missed a few bars along the way, their teacher didn't seem to mind since he didn't tell her to start over. But she now knew that she needed to at least work on her upper arm strength before the sports festival came.
00:00:08:321
Kuroiro to everyone's surprise jumped into the pit, but Vlad did not eliminate him as he technically did not fall but merge with the shadows of the pit. As a result he had literally no issue with the pillars as he quickly sped across the darkness of the pit in what seemed like a moment of teleportation. Something Monoma was counting on and knew was the only course he realistically could use his quirk to get across except for the last part.
00:00:02:863
Monoma flew off using the quirk of Yanagi as soon as he felt Kuroiro touch his back, practically zooming over the climbing wall. Well, that was his intention anyways. But he quickly realized when he activated it that he had to slow down and move in simple straight lines up and down if he did not want to overshoot the last obstacle entirely.
So, he had to quickly go straight to the wall, then up, then forward, finally down to the ground. Then he could finish it with a quick rush forward right above the walking beam to finish it all for his team. Despite not being the best flier, was the first to show the truly overwhelming advantage that fliers had in obstacle courses. Grinning pridefully as he crossed over the finish line, arms crossed with a look that practically screamed 'praise me' to everyone. Until Kamakiri threw his shoe at the blond, hitting their head.
00:00:06:212
"OW!" Monoma called out, rubbing his head where the running shoe hit.
"GET OFF YOUR HIGH HOR-OW!" Kamakiri was about to say horse but got cut off when Kendo slapped him upside the head with an enlarged hand.
"YOU STOP ATTACKING HIM WHEN HE ACTUALLY SHOWS RESTRAINT IN BEING PRIDEFUL!" Kendo scolded, not liking Kamakiri punishing the annoying blond for making a small improvement.
"Ahem!" Vlad King cleared his throat, getting everyone's attention. "Final time is…" He said as he held up the timer showing '00:00:30:339' as he gave his students a proud grin as he began to laugh, slapping the students backs as they all came back together. With a nod and a look to the next group up, they began to move into place.
Hagakure, who had good coordination due to the stealth nature of her quirk she capitalized on when using it, took the tire run. She was agile, far more than any of the others on her team and could have easily handled the walking beam as well. But one of her teammates insisted on handling the last stretch for her since there was no tripping hazard for them to worry about at the end. Getting past the last tire, she gave his back a push to help with his running start.
00:00:05:388
Awase had fairly good upper arm strength due to his family background and his quirk sometimes requiring him to lift heavy things. But since he also had a relatively small frame to go with his muscle, well small compared to his bigger classmates. He was able to get across as easily as the lighter classmates could. Finishing the bars with a leap off at the end, had allowed Awase to quickly pat Shiozaki back, which signaled them to start immediately.
00:00:06:622
Shiozaki did not hesitate to use her quirk to lift herself across to not even need to tackle the pillars. With no zero movement from her body (minus her hair) she was able to get across which would have seemed perfect on the surface. But she could have potentially shaved half a second off her total time if she pulled herself hard to the other side. Even so, she landed gently and tapped her teammate Honenuki with a vine at the same time as she landed.
00:00:03:666
Honenuki had no intention of climbing the wall, as he immediately activated his quirk at full power to make it sink into the ground. The once climbing wall was now a speed bump in comparison that he could simply jump on and off to tag Kodai to start the last part. Even if he fell to his knees afterwards due to the strain, he put on himself by using his quirk to max power and immediately moving after. Whether or not he heard Cementoss scream when he destroyed an entire obstacle entirely was unknown due to his lack of reaction.
00:00:04:101
Kodai was quick on her feet, or rather she was big on her feet. Specifically, one of her shoes she took off before their group started, throwing it across the pit bottom side up so she had a wider flat surface to run across. Though there was no rule against it, the homeroom teacher of these students was surprised they got creative like they did despite Kodai's stiff personality.
00:00:06:137
"Good work everyone, right now team four is in the lead with a total time of '00:00:25:914', next team has three minutes to talk due to someone destroying an entire obstacle." Vlad King told his students, not missing the embarrassed look on Honenuki's face as he was more or less, called out by the teacher. Not that he cared that his student did that, if anything the blood hero found it amusing that he literally moved the obstacle out of his way.
The third group started with Tsuburaba covering the tire run with a layer of solidified air that he quickly slid across. Attempting to get back at his mouthy classmate for what she did earlier in the week by slapping her ass, she popped her foot off while still facing forward. "Sorry but unless you have a foot fetish then Midoriya is the only one getting a feel of my best asset." Setsuna told him, succeeding in teasing both him and Izuku at the same time with a small cry of 'What?!' from the audience was any indication. Along with a harsh glare from Shiozaki she could feel as she continued with the exercise.
00:00:06:204
As for the lizard girl, she rocketed off in an instant as soon as he touched her foot, as she delivered her one liner to him. Resulting in her getting past the monkey bars in the fastest time yet. A top speed that showed why she was a recommended student. With a little spank to her ass to add salt to her teammate wound she gave him by dodging his ass grab. Blowing in the ear of Shoda to scare him as she gripped both of his shoulders, he took off with quite the sprint as she predicted.
00:00:02:069
Being given the task of tackling the pillar section was fairly easy for Shoda as he had a fairly good reaction time. Though he would have done it in double the time if not for Setsuna sending him into a panicked run at the start. When he fell forward at the last step, he used his quirk at the last moment to make himself bounce up slightly. This allowed him to flip over to avoid stopping which would obviously lose him speed and time. Quickly slapping his hand into Yanagi's hand, she flew off with a nod to him.
00:00:06:739
Yanagi, unlike Monoma, knew how to use her quirk to the fullest, so rather than going straight up the climbing wall. She approached it from an angle going upward before stopping to switch to a downward angle touching down at the end of the walking beam. Granted it did exhaust her and make her a little sick as her body was not used to moving at such fast speeds. But it was the top speed she could move at, if need be, just not consistently for any longer than a few seconds.
00:00:04:056
"Good run people, as for your time… well nobody needs to kill themselves trying to reach it." Vlad King said with a sigh as he showed them what happens when you have two flying quirk users on one team. '00:00:19:068' was the final time for their team taking the lead. This was due to them having two flying quirk users, with one handling two obstacles back-to-back. The final time for the team was '00:00:19:068', a truly hard time to beat.
Not only does the second group have no members with a mobility increasing quirk. None of them could figure out how to use their quirks to help. From an outside perspective, they could have asked the other groups for help. But all groups had previously agreed to discuss only among themselves for the first try before discussing every member as a class.
Though he was easily able to fit his feet into each tire, Manga was not exactly the athletic type. Like most of his classmates, he chose to focus too much on his quirk like most of the others. This resulted in a time that was better than Bondo time but still worse than Tsuburaba so far.
00:00:09:303
Rin who was more fit than Manga so it was decided he would handle the monkey bars, which he completed with ease. Getting the second-best time so far, it was a greatly impressive feat considering it was all done via physical strength and no quirk.
00:00:05:101
Shishida took the pit of pillars with ease, simply using his larger strides to push through it quickly as pillars fell behind him. Using advantage of the touch rule to push her halfway up the climbing wall from one foot as she jumped using the other.
00:00:08:933
Finally, up for the second group was Kendo who quickly got across the pillars, easily avoiding tripping despite a few collapsing on her. Then the walking beam came up where she ran halfway before enlarging her hands and slamming them down forward. With her hands covering a quarter of the distance by themselves, he flip easily took care of the final stretch for her with the second best time overall so far.
00:00:06:363
"This group had the longest time so far but is still a good time considering their team composition. Also, smart idea of finding that loophole to help her up the obstacle, but don't end up becoming a smart ass with me later." Vlad King told his class, consoling the self scolding Shishida for holding back his team. Though he still made sure to show the final time to everyone, to avoid any rowdy questions later.
00:00:31:700
The first group had one person for each obstacle, so no one had to double up on any of them, though it was still a bit difficult to place some people. Fortunately, the first obstacle was simple enough that Kaibara handled it with ease despite his quirk not being easy to use in any of these obstacles. So, the tire run was successful, with not the fastest but not the slowest time yet either.
00:00:08:621
Passing it to Kamakiri who opted to do the monkey bars over the climbing wall, the green haired mohawked student got it done with a solid time himself. Though their group would still need to pick up the pace at this rate, he wasted no time in swinging off the monkey bars to tap Tetsutetsu on the shoulder.
00:00:06:906
Being told in advance to simply copy the previous team, Tetsutetsu ran forward full steam ahead without using his quirk. "NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL MANLY!" Tetsutetsu yelled as he copied Shishida's approach. He was a bit faster than Shishida despite his slightly smaller strides due to how he weighed a fair bit less in comparison to them. Though landing a bit ungracefully face first, he still made it through the end of his part to tag Izuku.
00:00:05:333
Izuku wasted no time and hit the wall at his current maximum speed. Quite literally as rather than climb over he kicked right through it with a solid and mostly stable ten percent smash. It was a bit of a stumble though due to him not expecting the push as he was tensing his body up before the light push. Which meant that the kick was done with one leg and both arms held in front of his face pressing against the wall as well when he came into contact with it.
Despite his mistake, Tsunotori did not hesitate to fly off as soon as he bumped into her… mostly due to him forcing her to begin flying. "Sorry about the wall… and sorry for shoving you Tsunotori." Izuku said as he got up slightly dizzy from breaking through the wall.
00:00:02:382
Not expecting a literal kick to her but, she barely held her scream as she flew forward. As to what the American girl thought of the kick… well she would lie if she said she disliked him kicking her. But luckily for her, no one would ask her such an awkward question. So, her newly discovered like of Izuku and Izuku specifically kicking would go undiscovered for a while. But she definitely disliked the crash landing she made at the other side of the walking beam.
00:00:01:321
Everyone was surprised when they saw Izuku and Tsunotori speed through their obstacles like that. Well they were surprised that Izuku did anyway, they understood why Tsunotori moved that fast.
"All right everyone, first off, I will not look past him jumping through the wall but I will recommend against it in the future. I would much rather you try to think of a more creative way that relies less on destructive force, but even so it was incredible at the end there." Vlad King told his students showing the final time for their group.
00:00:24:563
"Last up is the group from 1-A. I hope the lack of proper training you were supposed to receive from Aizawa doesn't hold you back. But even if it does, there is no need to feel ashamed, since you can train properly from this point on with us." He told the 1-A students, despite how he usually does not interfere with the 1-A class in past years due them being Aizawa students.
Starting off for the group from 1-A was Jiro who knew since she couldn't use her quirk to speed up her pace on any of them. So, she took the tire run which would take her the shortest amount of time to do it successfully without mistakes. Even so, her time showed she needed to build some more muscle or at least put more time into exercise than she does into music so she can move faster without worrying about her footing.
00:00:07:987
Tokoyami quickly got past the Monkey bars with one swing from Dark Shadow due to its strength. Quickly tagging Momo who had an item ready to go that she released when he tagged her.
00:00:03:322
Momo had taken off her jacket before they started so she could produce a miniature version of a jetpack used by a pro hero. Obviously, this miniature version barely lasted three seconds due to the power of the original it was copying being the same and therefore too much for it. Three seconds however was all she needed from it to get across faster than if she ran before discarding the device that blew up a moment after she did.
00:00:03:899
Todoroki, who knew what he had to do beforehand made his ice ramp as soon as she tagged him, made it to the top of the wall. Then dipped slightly before he jumped off to slap Aoyama's shoulder as he moved beside them.
00:00:05:722
With his back facing the walking beam and his backfoot lined up with the walking beam he was ready for his teammate. So, the moment he was given the mandatory touch by them, he got into his pose and blasted himself across the walking beam in two bursts. Getting a successful time like they had hoped he would.
00:00:04:960
With a whistle let out, Vlad King made it clear he was impressed. "Good use of everyone's quirk, not the greatest time but a good score getting you middle of the pack. Just a little faster each and you would have gotten the second-best time." He told them as he showed them their final time.
00:00:25:890
