Foreword

I'm sorry for this chapter being late. I had a trip to my aunt's Place, I had some bad jet lag when I got back, and I caught… something. I don't know how, but I had a headache and a sore throat and I was bed bound for most of the day. Not to mention I had so many ideas on how the chapter could have worked. So I wasn't able to work on Crash Version as much as I would have liked.

So… yeah. I'll try to be more consistent with my chapters from now on…

With that outta the way though;

Chapter Fifteen: Ti-tAnne-ic!

Crash and Misty split up to search for their missing friends, with Misty being the first to find Daisy. The two trainers free Brock from Team Rocket's clutches and prepare to put an end to the nefarious plans they have planned for the S.S Anne.

But as they do, an explosion shakes the ship, causing them to worry about Crash.

/-/

(Crash's PoV)

Five minutes. That was the time that she had until she was disqualified.

Five minutes. That was the time that we had to wait.

Five minutes. Was the time it took for all of my hope that she'd come back to completely vanish.

Daisy had been disqualified… and everyone was more than just disappointed. They were furious.

After seeing the battle between Misty and Sir Reginald, they're very very disappointed that Daisy didn't show up to her battle.

But me?

I was confused.

Did she forget that her battle was happening?

No… that's not it… they repeated her name on the intercom.

I didn't know what to think, or how to feel. On one hand, I was mad that she missed her battle and made us wait for nothing.

But on the other hand, I was getting worried. Misty hadn't come back yet and I hadn't heard or seen her, Daisy or Brock yet. Had they gotten lost?

I should go look for them. It's been almost…

I look at the time on my Pokédex.

2 hours? That's way too long for them to be gone! I have to go and look for them!

I got up from my seat and went to exit the arena to look for them when…

"May Crash Betchum come to the battle areas for the semi final match?" Sounded the intercom. "I repeat, may Crash Betchum come to the battle areas for the semi final match?"

I stopped in my tracks.

No! Not here! Not now! I have to go look for my friends!

I ran towards the exit, but I could leave, the security guard blocking the exit. He was in typical security guard clothing, but wore a cowboy hat.

"Hey, I need to get through!" I said, trying to force my way past him.

"Sorry kid, but contestants aint allowed to leave if they get called up ta battle." He said.

"But my friends…" I tried to explain before being cut off.

"Look kid, just gimme a description or one'a they names, and I'll go look for 'em myself and let ya know after yer battles done." He offered.

I thought to myself for a second before he interrupted me.

"Be quick about it. Doubt the crowd will wanna wait another five minutes…" He said, tapping his foot impatiently and pointed behind me.

I could hear the loud shouting of angry people behind me, making me wince a little.

"Daisy Oak, Misty Falls, and Brock Rockefeller." I said with no hesitation.

"Them others from the tournament?" He raised a brow. "Checks out." He cracks his neck before looking at me. "Don't worry. I'll find 'em. Just go on head to ya match."

I nodded. "Thank you! So much!" I ran back the other way to the battle areas for my match.

I soon stopped as I realized I had gotten the guards name. I turned around to ask, but he was already gone.

The angry jeers of the crowd drew me back to the arena for my match, not wanting to make them wait anymore.

I took a place on the left side of the field and could hear the crowd calming down. The announcer seemed visibly relieved.

"This is the S.S Anne Cup semi final battle between Crash Betchum and Sir Reginald Silverton. Both trainers will use three Pokémon each, and the battle will be decided when the Pokémon on either side are unable to continue battling! And substitutions will not be allowed." The announcer explained. "Do both trainers agree to these terms?"

I looked back to the exit, a bit hesitant, but nodded.

"Then trainers," The announcer said. "Send out your Pokémon!"

"Jetstream, I choose you!"

"Fearow, it's time for a jolly good show!"

The two bird Pokémon faced off against each other, Fearow looking down at the evolved Pidgey.

I took out Dexter for more information.

Fearow, the Beak Pokemon. A Normal and Flying type and the evolved form of Spearow.

It uses its long beak to attack. It has a surprisingly long reach, so it must be treated with caution.

Long reach with its beak, huh? Then we'll have to out speed it.

"Let the Battle begin!" The announcer waved the flag in his right hand, signaling for us to start.

/-/

Let's strike first, and strike hard!

"OK Jetstream! Go for a Quick Attack!"

Jetstream became like a blur, smacking into Fearow with incredible speed.

"Nice one, Jetstream!" I cheered as the move connected.

But the Fearow seemed to no-sell the attack.

"Wh-what?"

That did nothing!?

"I dare say, young chap, your Pidgeotto is quite strong." The elderly mustached man said. "But my Fearow is a veteran battler! It will not fall easily!"

The Fearow let out a loud screech, stretching its wings out.

"Grr. Jetstream, another Quick Attack!"

Jetstream once again became a blur, charging into Fearow with incredible speed.

"Fearow! Counter with a Mirror Move!"

Mirror Move?

Fearow became a blur itself, charging into Jetstream at the same time, but because of Fearow's beak, it struck first and sent Jetstream flying back.

"How did it use Quick Attack?" I said, completely shocked. "You said Mirror Move."

"Because that is how Mirror Move works." Sir Reginald spoke up. "The user counters the foe by mirroring the move last used by the foe. Thus, its name is "Mirror Move."

"Mirror this! Use Gust!"

Jetstream whipped up a strong gust of wind with his wings and launched it at Fearow. But to my shock, it countered with a Gust too. The two attacks clash and cancel each other out.

Darn. That too huh?

"Use Sand Attack, Jetstream!"

Jetstream managed to kick up some dust that was on the somewhat dusty battlefield and launched it at Fearow… which was countered with another Sand Attack.

"Again?!" I yelled, very frustratedly. "Stop doing that!"

"Very well then." Reginald's mustache quirked up like he was smiling. "Repeating the same move makes for a dull performance anyways. Fearow, use Fury Attack!"

Fearow charged at Jetstream beak first, harshly jabbing him with his sharp beak.

"Jetstream! Get outta there with Quick Attack!"

Jetstream became a blur again, dodging another peck and swooping underneath Fearow to get out of its reach.

"Use Mirror Move, once more!"

Fearow gained a burst of speed, its wing knocking Jetstream out the sky and onto ground.

"Jetstream!" I cried out in worry. "Are you ok buddy?"

Jetstream shook himself and stood back up, and squawked loudly, as if saying; "I'm not done yet!"

Good to see that Jetstream is still up. But they keep countering our moves with the same move… How do we get around that?

But then an idea came to me.

"Ok Jetstream! We've got this! Go for another Quick Attack!"

Jetstream once again flew at a high speed towards Fearow.

"Doing this again are we? If you won't learn, I'll just beat it into you until you do. Fearow! Mirror Move, once more!"

Fearow mirrored Jetstream's attack and charged at him too. I couldn't help but smile a little as the two bird Pokémon flew towards each other.

"Ok Jetstream, switch to a Sand Attack!"

Jetstream stopped flying toward Fearow and whipped up a whirlwind of dirt that entered the flying type's eyes, causing it to thrash about mid-flight and miss, crashing into the stadium floor.

"What the?" Sir Reginald looked shocked.

"I was right!" I pumped my fist, happy that my idea worked.

"Right about what lad?" Said the old man, sounding greatly miffed. "Speak up, would you?"

"That Mirror Move copies the first move used by the opponent. If Fearow uses Mirror Move this time, it'll use Sand Attack. Because that's the last move that Jetstream had used!"

Reginald gave a hearty old man laugh. "You learn quickly lad! I suppose I'll have to take you more seriously!"

His Fearow got up and managed to stare down Jetstream. Jetstream stared at its rival back.

"Fearow, use Fury Attack!"

"Jetstream, dodge it with Quick Attack!"

Fearow jabs its beak at Jetstream, but due to the increased speed from Quick Attack, he's able to dodge them all.

"Okay Jetstream, now fly outta there!"

Jetstream began to fly away from Fearow as it gave chase.

"Jetstream, fly up!"

Jetstream does so and avoids another Fury Attack.

"Fearow, use Mirror Move!" Reginald commanded.

Fearow began to speed up drastically, catching up to Jetstream.

"Jetstream, turn around and use Gust!"

Jetstream whipped up a strong gust of wind with his wings and launched it at Fearow as it flew towards him, sending the long beaked Pokémon to the ground.

"Don't let up! Use Quick Attack!"

Jetstream tackled Fearow into the ground with incredible speed.

"Fearow! Are you ok?"

The bird Pokémon stood back up, actually looking damaged.

Reginald gave another hearty laugh. "It seems I was wrong about you lad." He gave a determined smile. "But let's see if you can claim victory over me and my Pokémon! Fearow, use Fury Attack once more!"

Fearow charged forward to jab its beak at Jetstream.

"Jetstream, dodge it with Quick Attack again!"

Jetstream, once again used the speed from Quick Attack to dodge the jabs and flew high into the air again.

I recognized what was happening and decided to take advantage of it.

"Jetstream, turn around and use Gust!"

Jetstream whipped up another strong gust of wind and launched it at Fearow as it flew towards him.

"Fearow, use Drill Peck!"

"Drill Peck?"

Fearow gave a loud squawk and flew towards Jetstream, beak first and began to spin like a drill, and powered through the Gust, hitting Jetstream out of the sky and landing on the ground with a loud thud.

"Jetstream!" I yelled as he hit the ground. I breathed in relief as he stood back up.

That move… it powered through Gust like it was nothing. How?

"Aha! Surprised, aren't you lad?" He asked. "That is the power gap between moves."

"The Power gap between moves?" I asked.

"Some moves are just naturally stronger than others. Like the power of your Pidgeotto's Gust is significantly lower than that of my Fearow's Drill Peck."

I began to sweat.

I don't think any of Jetstream's moves are stronger than Drill Peck.

"Jetstream! Let's try a Tackle!"

Jetstream charged at Fearow headfirst.

"Fearow, go for a Fury Attack!"

Fearow charged forward to jab its beak at Jetstream as he charged at it.

"Switch to Quick Attack!"

Jetstream's speed increased as he rammed into Fearow, hitting it directly in its stomach. But Jetstream had taken some Fury Attacks as the move hit though.

Both of our bird Pokémon looked worse for wear, both barely able to stay standing.

"Both Pokémon may be barely standing, but they are showing true grit!" The Announcer congratulated. The crowd began to cheer happily.

I guess they're excited to see a match this close after waiting for Daisy…

"I must congratulate you lad. Your Pidgeotto is doing better than I thought. But this is where its run ends. Fearow, prepare a Sky Attack!"

I looked over to Fearow and saw that it had spread its wings and had become cloaked in a harsh light.

This is just like Bide! But he said Sky Attack… Does this move need to be charged? That means that-

"Jetstream, use Quick Attack while Fearow is open!"

"Fearow! Do your best to evade it!"

Fearow flew into the air to try and dodge Quick Attack, but the move gave Jetstream the speed to intercept Fearow and knock it out the sky.

"Ok Jetstream! We've got this! Go for another Quick Attack!"

Jetstream dove at Fearow as it fell, but Fearow recovered in time and dodged the Quick Attack.

"Jetstream, pull up and chase Fearow with another Quick Attack!"

Jetstream followed my command and darted at Fearow, but Fearow itself seemed to be glowing brighter than it had before.

"Now Fearow, dive and use Sky Attack!" Reginald commanded.

Fearow dove straight down at Jetstream, the light it was cloaked in trailing behind it made it look like a shooting star.

The two Pokémon crashed into each other, and hit the ground, creating a large cloud of smoke.

As the smoke cleared, I saw Jetstream on his back, his eyes looking like swirls as Fearow stood above it.

"Pidgeotto is unable to battle, so Fearow is the winner! Sir Reginald Silverton is declared the winner of the first round."

Aww man. Jetstream was so close to beating Fearow.

I returned Jetstream to his ball. "Thanks buddy. You did great." I put his ball back on my belt and looked at Mark.

"You're up buddy." I nodded. Mark nodded back and leapt off my shoulder and onto the battlefield to face Fearow.

/-/

"This marks the beginning of the 2nd Round." Said the Announcer. He swung his flags downward. "Begin!"

"Mark, use Quick Attack!"

Mark charged at Fearow, knocking it over and onto the ground.

"What in the-" Reginald gasped. "That Pikachu is far faster than your Pidgeotto!"

"He sure is!" I bragged.

"Well let us test its speed. Fearow, use Mirror Move!"

It once again copies Quick Attack and charges at Mark.

"Mark, It's using Quick Attack! Watch out!"

As Fearow flew towards Mark, he managed to leap over and completely avoid it.

"Circle back and use Drill Peck!" Reginald commanded.

Fearow circles around and soared at Mark, spinning like a drill.

"Mark! Dodge it and use Thunderbolt!"

Mark leaps over the attack and fires a strong electric blast at the Pokémon from above. The flying type falls to the ground, looking completely exhausted.

"Fearow!" Reginald cried out as Fearow hit the ground.

"Fearow is unable to battle, so Pikachu is the winner! Crash Betchum is declared the winner of the second round."

"You've done well, Fearow. Please, come back and rest." He returns it back to its Pokéball, and takes out another.

"Rapidash, I choose you!"

The Fire Horse Pokémon comes out of its Pokéball and gives a loud neigh, its mane and tail flames flickering energetically.

"Rapidash?"

I take Dexter out to learn more, curious about the Pokémon.

Rapidash, the Fire Horse Pokémon. A Fire Type.

This Pokémon is very competitive and love to run. If it sees something faster than itself, it will give chase at top speed.

"This marks the beginning of the 3rd Round." Said the Announcer. He swung his flags downward. "Begin!"

"Mark! Let's start this off with a Quick Attack!"

Mark charged at the Rapidash at lightning speed.

"Rapidash, use Stomp!"

The Pokémon lifts its legs and stomps on the ground with its hooves, knocking Mark away.

"Mark!" I called out.

"Now use Take Down!

Rapidash began to speedily gallop toward Mark, and knocked him away with a powerful tackle, causing him to skid across the floor and lay at my feet.

"Are you ok buddy?" I asked as I knelt down to him. Mark shook it off and nodded.

"Ok! I want you to try for another Quick Attack!

Mark charged at the Rapidash at lightning speed, once again.

"Rapidash, intercept it with Stomp!"

The Pokémon lifts its legs and goes for a stomp on the ground like last time. But I had an idea.

"Now use Double Team!"

Mark creates afterimages due to his speed, continuing to charge at it.

Rapidash stomps on the ground in front of itself, kicking up a large dust cloud. As it clears, he's nowhere to be seen.

Rapidash and Reginald gasped. "What the… Where did it go?"

"Mark! Use a Double Kick!"

Mark lands two kicks to its belly, causing it to stumble back.

"Now try for a Quick Attack!"

Mark zips around the battlefield, and lands a headbutt to its neck, powered by Quick Attack.

Rapidash continued to look around itself, completely confused as I ordered more Quick Attacks and Double Kicks from Mark.

"Rapidash, use Stomp to disorient Pikachu."

As Mark went in for a Double Kick, Rapidash stomped on the ground, right before Mark could hit it and flinched.

"Now use Fire Spin to trap it!"

"What?" I gasped as Rapidash seemed to exhale a spinning Flamethrower at Mark, swirling around him as a fire tornado, hiding him from my view.

"Mark! Get outta there!"

All I heard was a cry of pain from the fire tornado as its heat intensified. Once the spinning flames stopped, Mark fell to the ground, covered in burns.

"Mark!" I cried out, as he hit the ground.

Mark staggered back to his feet.

"End this with Horn Drill!"

"Horn Drill!?" I shouted in disbelief.

Rapidash charged at Mark, its horn rotating like a drill to ram into him.

This Rapidash knows a One-hit OK move ? I can't let that hit Mark!

I thought quickly.

"Dodge it with Double Team!"

Mark begins to move rapidly, making afterimages copies of himself, evading the attack entirely.

"Circle back and use Stomp!"

Rapidash comes back around and jumps high into the air, attempting to stomp on Mark. I call for him to dodge the attack and he sidesteps it, but the impact of the horse Pokémon's hooves knocks him back.

"Now trap it with Fire Spin!"

Rapidash blew out a swirling stream of flames at Mark once again.

"Mark, use Double Team!"

The spiraling flames hit the afterimages, leaving none of them behind.

"Mark, use Quick Attack!"

"Rapidash! Use Stomp!"

Mark charged at Rapidash at lightning speed, as Rapidash lifted its legs to stomp on the ground with its hooves.

"Mark, jump up to dodge it and use Double Kick!"

Mark jumps as Rapidash's hooves make contact with the ground and strikes its face with two spinning kicks and rolls back.

"Rapidash, use Horn Drill!"

Rapidash speedily gallops toward Mark.

Crap! Mark won't be able to dodge it this time! Best I can do is have Mark counter with an attack!

"Mark, use Thunderbolt!"

Mark fires the strong electric blast at the fire type, causing it to cry in pain, but Rapidash continued to charge at him.

I felt my heart drop as I heard Mark cry out in pain, and fly toward me, so I dove in and caught him without waiting another second.

As I turned him over, I saw a large bruise on his stomach. I held him tight and walked back to my side of the arena when I heard a thud.

"Rapidash!" I heard Reginald cry out.

I turned around and saw Rapidash on its side, its eyes now both spirals.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle, so this battle is a draw!"

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as I heard the ref's call.

That was closer than I would have liked…

"Trainers, send out your third and final Pokémon!"

"Raticate, time for a jolly good show!"

Reginald had sent out his Raticate.

Which was a good thing. And a bad thing.

It was good because I knew what to expect and I knew what moves it had. But it was also bad because I knew how strong it was.

I set Mark by my side and began to think long and hard about my last Pokémon.

Agni is pretty strong and has Flamethrower, but Raticate has Bubblebeam and Agni doesn't have enough experience. Not to mention I've already used him…

Briar can take attacks and resists Bubblebeam and Thunder, but he's too slow to keep up with Raticate and it has Super Fang.

Ekho has speed and Double Team… But Raticate has Thunder. And Leech Life can't completely heal the damage it would take…

"Crash Betchum," The announcer said, "if you do not send out your Pokémon, you will forfeit the match."

I gulped. And took a look at the Pokéball I held in my hand and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.

Which means I have only one other option…

"I believe in you! Wormwood, I choose you!"

I threw his ball out. And out came my first capture, as joyful as always and happy to help.

"This marks the beginning of the 4th and final Round." Said the Announcer. He swung his flags downward. "Begin!"

/-/

"Wormwood, use Confusion!" Wormwood's eyes glowed a bright blue as he fired a strange beam of energy at Raticate.

"Raticate, evade it with Quick Attack!"

Raticate jumped from side to side, avoiding the Psychic type attack entirely and slamming into him.

"Now use Bubblebeam!"

Raticate fires a spray of bubbles at Wormwood.

"Gah! Wormwood, dodge it!"

He bobs and weaves through the torrent of bubbles.

"Now use Super Fang!"

Raticate dashes forward, its fangs bared.

"Use Gust!"

Wormwood whipped up a strong gust of wind and launched it at Raticate, knocking it to the ground.

"Now Bubblebeam."

"Confusion!"

Raticate fires a spray of bubbles at Wormwood as he fires a strange beam of energy at the large Rat Pokémon. The two attacks collide, creating a large cloud of smoke.

"Raticate! Use Thunder!"

I could feel the color drain from my face as I heard the name of the move. I could barely make out a yellow glow, and the sound of electricity

"Wormwood, dodge it!"

Wormwood flew higher into the air as a super powerful bolt of electricity flew right below it, piercing through the dust cloud.

"Knock it out of the air with Quick Attack!" Reginald said.

Before I could say another word, Raticate jumped out of the smoke and quickly slammed its tail into Wormwood, knocking him into the ground below.

"Wormwood!" He bounced off the ground slightly as he lay on the ground.

"You can stand tall, lad. You are strong." Reginald said, tipping his hat to me respectfully. "Finish this with Bubblebeam!"

Raticate fires a spray of bubbles at my now grounded Bug and Flying Type. I couldn't do anything but stare as I heard Wormwood yell in pain as the bubbles slammed into him.

The attack soon stopped and I saw that Wormwood wasn't moving. The referee looked at my battered Butterfree for a while and nodded. I closed my eyes shut, not wanting to accept it.

"Butterfree is unable to battle, so Raticate-"

I'm so sorry Wormwood… I guess I'm not that good of a trainer huh? Larry was right… I am all luck…

I heard a weak "Free" coming from the battlefield. I opened my eyes and saw Wormwood, greatly bruised, but still flying. Reginald, his Raticate, and even the ref were just as shocked as I was.

"Wormwood… you're… still… not fainted?" I stared at my butterfly Pokémon, completely shocked and confused. "But… how?"

Wormwood looked back at me, as if he was trying to say "This isn't over! We can still win!" And I felt my fear melt away at that moment.

I turned my cap around, and smiled. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going!"

"I seem to have underestimated the tenacity of your Butterfree lad." Reginald chuckled "But this ends now. Raticate. Use Quick Attack."

Raticate lunged at Wormwood, trying to charge into him with a speedy tackle, but in time with my shout, Wormwood flew up, quickly dodging the attack.

"Switch to a Thunder!"

Raticate's whole body sparked with electricity, as it shot the bolt of lightning at Wormwood, and he dodged the powerful electric attack again, but was sent spiraling down.

"Wormwood!"

"Use Super Fang!"

Raticate jumped at the falling Butterfree, its teeth bared.

"Wormwood, fly underneath him!

And as Raticate lunges at Wormwood, he flies underneath the attack, avoiding it and flying to my side of the field.

"Quick Attack, once more!"

Raticate lunged at Wormwood, trying to charge into him with another speedy tackle. But I had an idea. As Raticate jumped to hit Wormwood, I gave him a command.

"Now use a String shot!"

Wormwood shot out a sticky silk from his mouth, binding Raticate and stopping him in his tracks.

"Now knock him back with a Gust!"

Wormwood whipped up a gust of wind and launched it at Raticate, sending it across the ground.

"Wha- how did…" Reginald looked shaken up, but he quickly regained his composure. "Erhm! No matter, Raticate, free yourself with-"

"Stun Spore!" I interrupted. I knew how powerful a Rattata's teeth were, so I decided to not give its evolved form a chance to use them.

Wormwood blew a powder that caused Raticate to stiffen.

Reginald looked… shocked. He'd nearly lost to Misty, but he hadn't looked like this during their battle.

"Now! Rapid fire Confusion attacks!"

Wormwood continued to fire the beams of psychic energy at the paralyzed and trapped Raticate. It managed to free itself but the paralysis had worn it down.

I looked at Wormwood who looked like he would collapse at any moment, and at Raticate, who pretty much looked the same.

The next attack will decide it all…

(Crash's PoV ends)

The two trainers and their Pokémon readied themselves for the move that would decide the match.

"Wormwood, use Confusion!"

Wormwood's eyes glowed a bright blue as he fired multiple beams of energy at Raticate.

"Raticate, use Quick Attack!"

Raticate jumped from side to side, avoiding the Psychic type attack entirely, closing the gap with its speed.

It goes to lunge at Wormwood, but it flinches due to paralysis, leaving it open to a Confusion that lands, sending it sliding back, spirals now in its eyes.

"Raticate is unable to battle, so Butterfree wins! Crash Betchum is declared the winner and will continue onwards to the finals of the tournament."

"I won?" Crash placed a hand on his chest, as he felt his heart racing faster than it ever had before. He could feel his whole body shake as the realization set in

I… won.

Crash ran to his battered Butterfree and held his small hands tightly. "We did it buddy! We won!" Crash repeated as he jumped up and down.

Wormwood gave a tired, but happy cheer as his trainer continued to jump up and down, victoriously.

"Raticate, you did excellent. Return." Reginald retrieves his unconscious Mouse Pokémon and walks over to Crash.

"I say lad, you and your Butterfree work quite well together." He said, stroking his mustached face.

"Um… thanks! I've been trying my best as a trainer!" Crash stammered.

The two trainers shook hands as the crowd roared in excitement.

/-/

Crash went to an onboard medical center on the ship to get his Pokémon as they all were very exhausted from the battle with Reginald.

I really did it… I beat Sir Reginald Silverton!

He took a seat nearby and rocked back and forth, still excited from his victory.

Larry had to have seen that! Let's see how lucky I am now!

Crash stared up at the ceiling, letting his mind wander.

I wonder where Brock, Misty, and Daisy are? They still haven't come back yet…

As Crash thought to himself for a while, he heard his name being called to a desk nearby so he could collect his healed Pokémon.

Mark hops off his shoulder as Crash sends out Wormwood and Jetstream.

"Ok! Great work, team! I'm proud of you all!" He cheered.

His Pokémon clamored happily and they soaked up the praise, especially Wormwood.

"Ah, there you are, lad!" Greeted Reginald as he approached the boy.

"Sir Reginald Silverton? What're you doing here?" Crash asked genuinely surprised.

"I came here to revitalize my Pokémon after our match." He replied candidly. "And I say that Butterfree of yours is quite the specimen."

"Thanks! Me and Wormwood have been through a lot together!" Crash blushed at the praise, and scratched the back of his head.

"I can tell! Say lad, what do you think of my Raticate?"

Crash rubbed his chin in thought and crossed his arms matter-of-factly. "Well I think it's a really, really strong Pokémon. Especially with its speed, Super Fang and Thunder." Crash partially stuttered as he remembered the first time he had seen Thunder make contact.

"Why, thank you." Reginald tipped his hat. "Raticate would make a fine addition to your team, wouldn't you say lad?"

"Maybe but… isn't Raticate your Pokémon?" Crash looked at the gentleman, confused.

"Oh absolutely." He chuckled. "There is no denying that lad! I'm just wondering if you'd like to trade."

Crash raised a brow. "Trade?"

"Trade Pokémon with me lad! My Raticate for you Butterfree."

"But… how?" Crash asked.

"Allow me to show you!" Reginald said, picking up three Pokéballs from a tray and walking off. "Follow me!"

Crash nods and retrieves his flying types, beginning to follow the gentleman out of the medical center.

They eventually reach a room with multiple sets of desktop computers, all with their backs to another. Various trainers were at the computers with their Pokéballs put underneath a chute while others had their Pokédexs' connected to the computers via a cord.

"Welcome to the Link Trading room, lad!" Reginald said grandly, as if he were a ringmaster of a circus. "This is where you trade Pokémon with other Trainers."

"Woah." Crash gasped in awe.

"There is a room like this in every Pokémon Center, but this one is far larger to accommodate the trainers on this ship."

"Really?" Crash asked in surprise.

Suddenly, two boys enter the room and sit down at a set of computers.

"Ah, it seems those trainers seem to be trading their Pokémon!" Reginald said. "Let's see a demonstration of how it works."

Reginald leads Crash over to the boys.

"You ready, man?" A boy with a blue cap asked his friend.

"Yup! This beats going to the Pokémon Tower to catch a ghost type." Replied his friend in a yellow tank top. "That place freaks me out."

"Ok, scaredy-Meowth." His friend shrugged.

The boy's friend seemed offended. "Are we gonna trade or not?

"Ok, ok. Just let me grab my Ball!" He laughed as he placed a Pokéball under the chute.

His friend did the same, also placing a ball under the chute on his side.

"Good bye, Haunter!" Said the boy in the blue cap.

"Good bye, Spearow!" Said the boy with the tank top.

The chutes sucked up the Pokéballs and began to tremble slightly as the tubes glowed, signaling the path of the Pokéballs.

"Woah…" Crash gasped.

The rumbling stops and the chutes spit out the Pokéballs.

"Weird… nothing looks different…" Crash commented.

Reginald shushed him. "Just watch."

The boys grabbed their Pokéballs. The boy with the blue cap threw his Pokéball and out came a Spearow.

His friend in the tank top did the same, but instead of a Haunter, a Pokémon that Crash was familiar with came out instead.

"What the… Haunter became a different Pokémon instead!" The boy in the tank top gasped.

"Yeah!" His friend looked proud. "Pretty cool, huh?"

His friend in the tank top smiled. "Way past cool dude! Thanks!"

"No problem!"

The two boys fist bumped and ran out the room with their new Pokémon following them.

"So? What did you think of the demonstration?" Reginald asked.

"Pretty good. But why did that other kid get Gengar?" Crash said, completely confused. "his friend gave him a Haunter, right?"

Reginald laughed. "Yes, he gave him a Haunter, but it evolved!"

"Haunter evolved?"

"Yes. Haunter is a Pokémon that evolves by trade." The gentleman answered. "And it's not the only one either."

"Wow. Science is so amazing." Crash beamed in amazement.

"Now lad. After that demonstration," the elderly gentleman said as he pulled out a Pokéball. "Would you like to trade now, laddie?"

Crash pulled out the Pokéball containing his Butterfree and stared at it.

That Raticate is powerful. It'd make a really good addition to my team if I make this trade.

Crash started to see the memories of him and Wormwood together. The bug types' capture as a Caterpie, his triumph over Jessie and James and evolution into Metapod and shortly Butterfree. His training with Flint and their rematch vs Onix. And finally, their victory over Raticate.

Crash blinks and turns his gaze back to the gentleman.

"Sorry… but I'm a bit attached too Wormwood. I don't feel like letting him go yet." Crash answered.

The elderly man chuckled and stroked his stache. "I can see that. Well young man, if you don't want to trade, I cannot force you to." He put his Pokéball back on his belt.

Crash let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and put Wormwood's Pokéball on his belt.

Until a large explosion was heard from somewhere on the ship, rocking the boat greatly and causing everyone to clamor in fear.

"What in the world?!" Crash yelled as he stumbled, trying to regain his footing.

"Something is causing the boat to shake!" Reginald said, holding on to his hat. He quickly ran out of the trading room, with Crash following him.

/-/

"What the devil is going on?" Reginald roared in a commanding tone.

"HELP! Evacuate the ship! Team Rocket is here!" a passenger yelled.

"Team Rocket…?" Crash gasped in confusion. "Jessie, James and Meowth are here?"

Reginald looked at the young boy in disbelief. "You know them, lad?"

Crash nodded. "Met them back in Viridian City, and they've been following me ever since. I guess they followed me here." Crash's eyes widened. "What if they kidnapped Brock, Daisy and Misty?"

Reginald growled. "How dastardly!"

"We have to go and look for my friends!" Crash exclaimed.

Crash made to run off, but was stopped by multiple members in black and dark gray uniforms. The striking thing about their outfits was the bright orange-red R in the center of their shirts.

"Where do you think you're going, brat?" One grunt asked condescendingly.

"Nowhere, that's where!" Said another.

The two grunts threw out Pokéballs, both containing Rattata.

"Two at a time, huh?" Mark hopped onto Crash's right arm as he swung, sending the electric mouse to battle. "Then Mark! Thunderbolt!"

The Pikachu lands a devastating Thunderbolt to one of the Rattata, knocking it out in one move.

"Gah! This kid's no joke!" Said one grunt as he retrieved his fainted Pokémon.

"But let's see if he can handle my Rattata!" Said the other. "Use Tackle!"

The Rattata charged at Mark, attempting a full body charge. But at Crash's command, the Pikachu counters with a Double Kick, to send the opposing rat Pokémon at its trainer's face.

"Grrr… this kid is no joke!" The grunt growled.

"Let's make like a tree and leave!" The grounded grunt said as he returned his own Rattata. The two grunts made to run, but a Fearow blocked their path.

"I think not, you scoundrels!" Reginald said, taking out two pairs of handcuffs.

The grunts can do nothing as they're cuffed to a chair.

"That should hold those mongrels." Reginald said, crossing his arms at a job well done.

"Yeah!" Crash nodded in agreement. "We should probably go and help the other people on the ship and find my friends!"

"Methinks the main issue is in the main lobby of the cruise ship." Reginald deduced.

They ran to the lobby and found the doors were wide open. And they saw a huge Pokémon battle going on between the numerous Trainers and more Team Rocket grunts who were trying to steal the Pokémon.

And Crash quickly found Daisy, Misty, and Brock and to his surprise, even Gary and his cheerleading squad were helping fight off the Rockets.

"Magnemite, use Thundershock!" Said one of the grunts as the Magnet Pokémon fires a jolt of electricity at Misty's Krabby.

Daisy is about to try and help her until…

"Mark! Intercept it and use Double Kick!"

Mark jumps up and sticks his tail out to take the electric attack and sends the Magnet Pokémon flying at its trainer with two kicks.

The trainers all look in surprise.

"Crash! You're here." Brock said, happy to see his friend.

"Heh, good timing Crashy boy." Larry smirked as his Nidorina knocked away a Rocket grunts' Pokémon with a Mega Punch. "I figured even you'd be able to handle these losers."

"Crash!" Misty gasped. She ran towards her friend and hugged him tightly. "Thank Helix you're ok! We didn't see you in our room or the lobby when we came back so…"

"We can reunite later!" Daisy said, sounding mildly annoyed as her Clefairy knocks out a Drowzee.

Misty blushes in embarrassment as she pushes away from Crash and commands her Krabby to continue fighting. Crash does the same, lending a hand with Mark.

The trainers were able to beat the Rockets with their superior strength and teamwork, and were able to corral them thanks to Wormwood's string shot.

"Wait, where's Proton?" Brock said, sounding worried.

"Who?" Crash and Larry raised eyebrows at the question.

"He's a Team Rocket Executive." Daisy explained. "And from what Brock told us, he's been leading this operation on the S.S Anne."

"Which is to steal all the Pokémon on the ship." Crash surmised.

Larry blinked. "You seem to be familiar with them."

Crash, Misty, and Brock smiled blankly. "You have no idea…"

Suddenly from the ship's intercom a voice began speaking, but it was all too familiar to Brock.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your new Captain speaking. I have good news and bad news." The voice said, obviously jovial despite the current situation.

"Who is that?" Larry asked.

"It's him…" Brock mumbled in horror.

"Him?" Crash parrotted in confusion.

"The bad news is that your current Captain is currently indisposed at the moment due to the rough seas."

"Proton…" Brock said in a mix of anger and fear.

"That's him?" Asked a confused Misty.

"I wouldn't forget his voice after what he did to me." Brock's hand tightened into a fist and began to shake.

Proton continued. "The good news is that I, Proton, have decided to not only carry you all to safety from the turbulent waves, but also claim this vessel in the name of Team Rocket!"

He laughed. "And all for the low price of every Pokémon you own!"

The trainers blankly stared at each other.

"He's in the Captain's cabin?"

"Yes he is."

"Definitely."

"Absolutely."

"He can't be anywhere else."

/-/

The trainers battle their way through the numerous Rocket grunts with little difficulty. They soon come across the cabin door.

"KRPD! Cue the background check. Hands in the air!" Crash yelled as he kicked the door open, revealing a shocked Proton and a tied up ship captain.

"What the… a couple of kids?" He points at Brock. "And you?! I had you tied up and beaten to a bloody pulp! How are you ok?"

Misty looked disgusted. "You did that to him?"

Proton laughed. "No shit, you snot nosed punks! We're Pokémon Gangsters. Kinda on brand, don't you think?" He shrugged nonchalantly.

Daisy and Larry looked sick.

"You beat up my friend?" Crash said, clearly angry.

"Yeah kid. Personally. And I'd do it again, brat!" Proton scoffed, not scared of the boy. "What're you gonna do about it?"

Crash growled. "Do what any good trainer would do." He grabs a Pokéball from his belt and points it at Proton. "Stop you. Ekho, I choose you!"

Ekho happily flits about.

"Try me kid." Proton throws a Pokéball, sending out his own Zubat, though his was noticeably bigger.

Multiple footsteps could be heard coming up to the cabin, revealing themselves to be more Rocket grunts.

"Great, more of these guys." Larry groaned as he turned to face them. "As if they couldn't get more annoying."

"Oh they can! And they will." Misty sighed

Daisy pulled out a Pokéball of her own. "We'll have to keep these guys at bay while Crash battles Proton."

Brock sends out his Geodude. "Sounds like a plan."

As the other four trainers held the grunts back, Crash and Proton's Zubat battle raged on.

"Zubat! Use Bite!" Proton shouted.

His Zubat clamps its jaw on its smaller counterpart and throws it to the ground.

"Ekho! Are you ok?" Crash called out to his thrown Pokémon.

The Zubat shakes off the hit and begins flying again.

"Still able to fight, huh?" Proton chuckled. "Let's drain that fight outta you! Use Leech Life!"

Proton's Zubat soars at Ekho ready to sink its fangs into it, but on Crash's command, Ekho is able to use his speed, and creates afterimages with Double Team. Proton's Zubat hits an afterimage, leaving it open to multiple attacks from Ekho.

After multiple exchanges, Proton's Zubat succumbs to its injuries and faints, much to the Rocket Executives' dismay.

"Great work Ekho!" Crash congratulated his Bat Pokémon as he retrieved it.

Proton growled, now cornered and not having an extra Pokémon, and his backup grunts were losing to those kids again. He was getting desperate.

He shoulder tackled a distracted Crash to the ground and pulled out a baton and pointed it to his neck.

"Hey! Return your Pokémon and brat won't get hurt." Proton threatened.

"Let me go!" Crash struggled.

The other four trainers turned around and were shocked and angered.

"Holding Crash as a hostage?" Larry asked. "How cowardly!"

"That's scummy!" Misty growled.

"You won't get away with this!" Brock roared.

Mark charges up a Thunderbolt, but is stopped by Misty.

Daisy remained silent and shot Proton a hateful glare. The trainers return their Pokémon and they are immediately apprehended by the grunts.

"Haha! You trainers are stronger than I thought to beat a good amount of our grunts like that. Even I'm impressed." Proton laughed. "Since I'm feeling generous, I'll offer you all a spot on Team Rocket."

"Like we'd join a bunch of losers like you." Larry scoffed.

"Yeah!" Brock nodded. "We'd never join you!"

"You guys are one of the most disgusting things in the world!" Misty shouted.

Proton shrugged. "Oh well. At least we'll get some strong Pokémon out of it." he turns to the grunts. "Poach their Pokéballs!"

The children begin to scream and struggle as the grunts reach for the Pokéball belts. Until a vine wraps itself around a grunts' arm and pulls them away.

"What the?" Proton blinked. Crash immediately stomped on his feet, causing him to let go. Crash then sends out his Butterfree.

"Wormwood, use String shot at the Rocket grunts!"

The Butterfree sprays silk at the grunts, catching them off guard and causing them to let go.

"Victreebel, grab them all with Wrap!" a familiar voice shouted.

Two vines wrap up all the grunts, lifting them off the ground.

"What is the meaning of-"

"Executive Proton of Team Rocket! You are under arrest!"

The trainers look to the door and see Sir Reginald Silverton enter with a confident and commanding presence as Victreebel is right behind him, keeping the other Rockets in its vines.

Proton growled. "You…"

"Yes!" Reginald shouted as he pulled out a badge. "I am a member of the International Police! And I suggest you come quietly. You are outnumbered."

Proton laughed. "Is that so, old man? Well Koffing! Use Smokescreen!"

Proton drops a hand he had behind his back and his Koffing creates a great smoke cloud, obscuring everyone's vision.

"What the devil!?" Yelled a startled Reginald.

Crash commands Wormwood to blow it away with Gust. Once their vision is cleared, they find Proton missing as he left the ship's Captain behind.

They free the Captain, who thanks them for saving his life.

"Argh! Proton got away!" Crash growled.

"He won't get far." Reginald reassured the boy. "The only place to go is the main deck, as I've made sure to put the ship on lock down."

Misty smiled. "Great! We can corner him there!"

/-/

They run to the deck, barely able to stay standing on the floor due to the rainwater and brine making the deck slippery. They look to the railing and see Proton getting ready to escape.

"Our operation on the S.S Anne may have gone sideways, but make no mistake, this isn't the end of Team Rocket, you hear me?!" He maniacally laughed. "This isn't the-"

A Magikarp hits him in the face, knocking him to the floor. Crash and company did their best to hold their laughter, but failed.

"Stupid Magikarp! You made me look bad!" Proton stands up and kicks the fish Pokémon back into the sea.

Everyone gasped in horror.

"Hey!" Crash yelled.

"That's Pokémon abuse!" Cried Misty.

"You truly are lower than scum!" Brock spat.

"Yeah, and?" Proton shrugged. "It's a worthless Pokémon."

Crash and Misty approach, wanting to settle this with their fists, despite Reginald trying to hold them back.

Proton laughed. "Ha! You kids think you can take me? Well then, bring it on!" Proton cracks his knuckles in anticipation.

Crash and Misty are halfway to Proton before coming to a stop. Crash stared wide eyed in his direction while Misty's face changed from boiling anger to shaking in fear.

"What's the matter kiddies, you realize you're in over your head?" Proton taunted.

The other three trainers are just as shocked and scared. Proton noticed their expression change and he laughed.

"I guess you all realize your place huh?"

They don't answer him.

"Hey! I'm talking to-" He yelled. But then a spine shaking roar that causes him to turn around and gasp in fright.

"It's…" Brock stammered. "It's a…" He was interrupted as the Gyarados roared again. The large piscine serpent Pokémon towered over them, clearly enraged. The dragon like Pokémon strikes the ship with its tail, shaking the ship greatly.

"It's trying to destroy the ship!" Cried Daisy. "We have to stop it!"

"Already ahead of you." Crash smiled. "Mark, use Thunder-"

"Don't!" Daisy yelled frantically. "If Mark uses Thunderbolt, we'll be hit, too!"

"Then what do we do?" Crash raised a brow.

"Use your Pidgeotto or Butterfree. Or heck, even your Zubat." Larry replied. "Your grounded Pokémon won't be able to get their footing here."

As much as I don't wanna… He has a point.

Crash sends out Jetstream, Reginald sends out his Fearow and Daisy sends out her Jigglypuff, which is immediately blown back by the harsh winds. Though, with Crash's quick thinking, Jetstream is able to grab the Balloon Pokémon.

"Puffy, hop on Pidgeotto's back!" Daisy ordered. She turns to Brock, Misty, and her younger brother. "You three have to help everyone evacuate."

Larry was opposed to the idea. "Look sis, I can help! I can-" he was interrupted by Daisy.

"Help Brock and Misty with evacuating everyone on the Anne, now!" She commanded.

Larry reluctantly nodded and went with Brock and Misty to evacuate the passengers.

/-/

The battle against Gyarados continued and the three trainers struggled to even harm the water type, even with Daisy and Reginald's combined experience.

"How're we supposed to beat this thing? It's too powerful!" Yelled a frustrated Crash.

"I think I have an idea." Said Daisy. "But, it's risky…"

Reginald gave a hearty, but nervous laugh. "No plan is without risk, lass. So tell us, what is this plan?"

"I need your Pokémon to deal as much damage as they can, then on my signal, you return your Pokémon and cover your ears!" She replied.

The other two trainers nodded and began to inflict as much damage to the Gyarados as they could before a Hydro Pump was able to finish off both bird Pokémon simultaneously.

"Sorry to keep you two waiting!" Daisy held her Jigglypuff in her hands, but she seemed to be wearing noise canceling headphones. "Cover your ears now!"

They both do so.

"Puffy, use Sing!" Daisy commanded. Her Jigglypuff begins to sing a soothing lullaby in a calming voice that puts the Atrocious Pokémon into a deep slumber. Once it falls asleep, Daisy throws a Pokéball at it. And it shakes once. Twice. Thrice. And the Pokémon is caught. The ball soon disappears in a beacon of light.

"What the?" Crash said, turning to look at Daisy.

She blushed in embarrassment. "Sorry! Old habit. But we stopped the Gyarados."

They then notice that Proton is gone.

"Drats!" Crash stamped his foot on the ground in frustration. "He got away!"

"Do not worry." Reginald put a hand on the boy's shoulder to reassure him. "Team Rocket's nefarious plans for the S.S Anne have been put to rest thanks to your efforts."

"I guess." Crash grumbled.

The ship began to shake and groan, beginning to tear apart.

"We need to get outta here!" Crash said as he began to run towards the lifeboats, with Reginald and Daisy not far behind. They soon see Misty and Brock waiting for them, but no lifeboats.

"Crash! Daisy! There you are!" Misty hugged them both. "What happened to the Gyarados? And Proton?"

Daisy held up a Pokémon. "Right here!" Misty could only gulp and give a nervous smile and thumbs up.

"Proton got away…" Crash snarled. "But what about the lifeboats?"

"Most of the spaces were filled by the Team Rocket grunts we stopped." Misty explained. "And Larry went with them because he said that "My sis has her own way of leaving the boat", or something."

The boat shakes and splits in half, beginning to sink.

"Well this isn't good." Reginald said as the boat split.

"Of course it's not!" Crash retorted. "We're gonna die!"

"The water is too wild to swim through, and I doubt Misty's water Pokémon can carry us all to land."

"What do we do?" Asked a panicking Misty.

Daisy sends out her Jigglypuff again and grabs it's foot, preventing it from flying away. "Okay everyone! Hold onto each other!"

They all hold hands with Reginald grabbing Daisy's free hand.

"We're ready lass!" Reginald said.

"Ok! Puffy! Use Teleport!"

The Jigglypuff begins to glow in a bright light and the group finds themselves back in the Vermilion City Pokémon Center. Nurse Joy looks at the 5 trainers, and approaches them worriedly.

"Are you all alright?" She knelt down to them as she saw them all looking tired and soaked in water.

Daisy could only smile as she gave her Jigglypuff a thankful nod and returned it before she and the others all faint from exhaustion.

/-/

Crash woke up, feeling completely energized as he stretched himself awake. He quickly showered and got dressed and saw Misty and Brock outside his door.

"Sleep well?" Brock smiled.

"Like a Snorlax." Crash gave a relaxed sigh.

"Great! Come on! Let's go eat breakfast!" Misty said, leading him to the Cafeteria where Reginald was waiting for them.

"Ah. Good to see that you younglings are awake and well."

"Sir Reginald?" Crash raised a brow. "What're you doing here?"

The man only laughed. "Well I am here to thank you for helping me fight Team Rocket. Truly I must pay back."

Crash rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed. "Aw. Well it's nothing! Really!"

Misty nodded. "Yeah. We were happy to help. But you don't have to reward us."

Reginald raised a brow. "Is that so? I guess you're going to deny me paying for your food then?"

Misty and Crash looked between each other. "Well we are hungry…" They immediately sat down with him.

Brock shook his head, somewhat amused.

As they ate, Reginald continued to thank them for their efforts against Team Rocket.

"Like we said before…" Crash said with his mouth full of spaghetti. "It's no problem."

Misty nodded happily, agreeing with the boy's sentiment as she ate her coffee cake.

"Hey, where's Daisy?" Brock asked as he swallowed a piece of his sandwich.

"Oh, the Oak lass? She's currently on a call with her family." The gentleman replied.

Brock nodded. "That makes sense, considering that Larry could be worried about her."

Reginald nodded in return. They all continued to eat without exchanging any more words between each other.

Once they finish eating, Crash rubs his stomach and sighs. "Man… that hit the spot!"

"It really did!" Misty agreed.

"Thank you for treating us to breakfast, Sir Reginald." Said Brock.

"It was no problem. It was the least I could do to thank you." He laughed.

The trio stood up and bid farewell to the Interpol agent as he stayed to pay their bill.

They soon see Daisy hanging up a video call and Crash runs over to hug her.

"Daisy!" Crash exclaimed as he hugged her tightly.

"Crash. You're finally awake." She smiled back at the boy.

"Who were you calling?" Misty asked curiously.

"I was calling my brother and Grandpa Sam." Daisy replied. "Larry was confident I'd be OK, but Grandpa was worried sick as he heard the news about the S.S Anne sinking. But I cleared everything up for him and Aunt Delia."

Crash breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good. But where do we go now? The S.S Anne is gone and I can't reach Fuchsia City now."

Daisy smiled and handed Crash a map. The boy looked at it confusedly.

"A map?" He asked.

"Mhm! My own personal map. I used this back when I was your age." Daisy said as she mentally looked back on her own journey.

"Cool." Crash said as he looked it over.

If you head east of Vermilion from here, you'll reach a shortcut that'll take you to Saffron City. And then from there you can go to Celadon and then head to Fuchsia." The veteran trainer explained.

"Really?" Misty and Crash asked simultaneously.

"That's convenient." Brock rubbed his chin.

"But why are you giving this to us?" Crash asked.

"This is where our paths split." Daisy said sadly.

"You're not coming with us?" Misty asked as well. "Why not?"

"I'm sorry. It's just that I have something personal to handle." She hugs Misty as well. "But this isn't goodbye forever… We'll meet again someday."

Crash and Misty hugged Daisy tightly.

/-/

As Crash, Misty and Brock leave the Vermilion Pokémon Center, they wave farewell to Daisy.

"See ya later Daisy!" Misty waves with slight tears in her eyes.

"We hope to see you again!" Brock waved.

"Next time you see me Daisy I'll be way stronger! You'll see!" Crash shouted in a resolute tone.

"Bye! I'll look forward to seeing you all again!" Daisy waved back. Once they were out of sight, she walked back into the Pokémon Center and sat down.

"So, you're not going with them?" Reginald asked as he took a seat next to her.

"No." She answered bluntly.

"Why not lass?" Reginald asked, genuinely surprised. "You seem to have a history with Crash. So why leave him?"

"I stayed because of you." She answered, just as bluntly as before.

"Because of me?" He raised a brow.

"You said you were Interpol, right? So I want to join too." She answered. "After what Team Rocket did on the Anne, I can't just do nothing. So… I want to join Interpol."

Reginald stared at her silently. "Is that so?" He raised a brow at her.

She nods. "Yes."

"Well then lass," He hands her a badge from his pocket. "Glad to have you join the fight against individuals who would harm the balance between humans and Pokémon."
