Stan drove haphazardly into a parking lot before pulling into a handicapped spot, the old man got out and stretched before grinning when he noticed a middle-aged lady speed-walking towards him. He could already recognize her to be one of the entitled ladies he often got at the Mystery Shack.

"Excuse me" she said in a shrill voice "you can't park your car there. You don't have a placard."

The backdoor of the car opened and, almost as if he was on cue, Dipper got out. Cane in hand and wearing dark sunglasses to block out the bright summer sun. Mabel got out after him with Soos.

"Grunkle Stan" his nephew said, "what are we doing here?"

"Hang on kid I'm having a conversation" he turned back to the lady "sorry, you were saying something?"

"Oh… N.. No I didn't-" she cut herself off, face flushed with embarrassment before scurrying away.

Dipper had a knowing look on his face "you forgot to put up my placard again, didn't you?"

Stan shrugged as he started to lead the way into the store. "Not used to having one. I normally just park and walk in, ignoring everyone that would complain."

"So, you still used the disabled spot without a placard?" Dipper asked, "do you even need it?"

Stan shrugged as he waved him off. "I'm an old man Dipper, how could you just assume that I don't need it?" Though they both knew that his over-the-top poor old man act wasn't fooling anyone.

"I never said that" Dipper corrected sarcastically. "I'm just wondering why you don't have one."

Mabel was giggling as she interjected. "Willing to make fake money but not a fake placard?"

Stan stopped abruptly as he smacked his forehead. "Why didn't I think of that?"

"Cause you can get into a lot of trouble?" Dipper suggested.

"Enough of this" Stan said, "anyways, here we are. The Summerween Superstore!"

"Wait…" Dipper frowned at the sudden topic change "Summer-what?"

"Summerween." He explained "it's basically Halloween but in the summer. This town loves Halloween so much, they decided to celebrate it twice a year."

"Something about this feels…." Mabel frowned, "unnatural."

Soos then spoke up "there's free candy!"

"I am now suddenly over it!" The girl declared.

Like flipping a switch, Mabel was suddenly pulling her brother along to the costumes as Stan made his way to the barrels of fake blood. Soos wound up standing near the front as he bopped a talking skull bowl that told skull puns.

Mabel looked up and down the aisle for the costumes, as her eyes landed on a specific one.

Daredevil. Mabel smiled as she thought about how their new friends called Dipper, Murdock, so maybe it would be fun going with that theme? A quick look around showed her the remaining Daredevil costume would need some altering to fit properly, and there was nothing related to Daredevil for herself.

"You just got quiet" Dipper said, taking off his sunglasses "what are you thinking?"

"Trying to find a matching costume for me, since I found the perfect one for you."

"Oh. What am I being this time?" Dipper braced himself for whatever over the top costume she came up with.

Mabel smiled as she held the cardboard label towards his face to let him see. "I figured we could go as some Daredevil heroes, because of how the guys called you Murdock."

His face brightened "oh cool! But what will you be? There aren't many heroes that work with Daredevil so unless you want to be a non-super character…"

Another look left Mabel pouting, until she found a white spider theme. "How about Spider Gwen?"

Dipper shrugged. "Other than the cameo in the one movie, I don't believe they have any connection, other than both being Marvel. But maybe Fury asked us to do a mission together?"

Mabel giggled as her brother connected their costumes together. "So, we are the best two for the mission huh?"

Dipper shrugged, "obviously. But how will it work with my cane? Daredevil doesn't use one, he uses his advanced senses while fighting."

Mabel shrugged. "So, you just get to have a stick. Or you can just store it away in your candy bag as I lead you around. Besides, doesn't he have those club things?"

"He only uses the cane part when he's Matt Murdock." He said "and I would prefer to guide myself…. Also, since when did you know so much about superheroes?"

Mabel just shrugged again. "I read some comics; those heroes can have such dramatic lives. I mean, have you seen how many girls Spiderman has to deal with. So the drama, am I right?"

"I would really call his girlfriend dying drama" Dipper deadpanned.

She shrugged. "Hey, you can't win them all."

—-

After the Pines Family had made it back to the Mystery Shack, Stan started getting ready to scare any pranksters that showed up. Mabel was upstairs getting their costumes ready, and Dipper and Soos were sitting at the kitchen table.

"I have to say dude" Soos said "you and your sister seem really pumped about tonight!"

"Mabel and I love Halloween," Dipper said with a shrug. "It's the one night a year where you can be something different."

He and his sister had different reasons for loving the holiday, Mabel loved making the costumes and eating candy until she was sick. While Dipper enjoyed those things too his favorite thing was dressing up, one night a year he was someone completely different. Not that he didn't like himself, but not being the poor blind kid for a single night was just something he enjoyed.

Now if Mabel would pick costumes that were more cool, rather than adorable... Can't argue with results though, if the stuffed bags they got every year was anything to go by.

Before Soos could respond, there was a ringing at the door as his sister rushed down to excitedly answer it and reveal she had asked Candy and Grenda to join them. Dipper frowned before getting an idea, why not invite Pacifica to join them?

It would be nice to have someone he, somewhat, got along with to talk to and he was pretty sure that Pacifica had a crush on Mabel so maybe this could be a way for them to get to know each other better. He turned his attention back to the girls.

"Oh my gosh!" Mabel was saying "this is going to be so much fun and your costumes look amazing!"

According to Soos; Candy was dressed as a piece of candy, while Grenda was wearing a robe and witch's hat. "Hey guys," he called over.

"Hey Dipper," Candy said.

Grenda grunted out a "sup."

Dipper turned to the sparkly blob he knew was his sister. "Hey Mabel, I have an idea. Why don't we invite Pacifica to go Trick-or-Treating with us?"

"Pacifica?" Grenda repeated "you mean Pacifica Northwest? Why would you want to invite her?"

Dipper blinked, confused for a moment before remembering that two were bullied by the rich girl. It seems that Mabel never told them about their past couple adventures that Pacifica had joined them on.

"Well, um…" He stammered "we've run into her a couple of times and she hasn't been too bad. I kind of think she has a crush on Mabel, so maybe combining that with my puns and she won't be a bully. Worked when we hung out with Wendy at the fair."

The two girls looked back at Mabel, clearly confused. She quietly shook her head and gestured at her brother, careful to keep her hand out of his line of sight so he wouldn't see it. Trying to indicate that Pacifica had a crush on him.

Candy and Grenda were able to piece it together, Candy carefully removed her glasses with one hand before both girls smacked their foreheads. Dipper, obviously, didn't notice. Instead he had found the candy bowl Stan had set out for later and popped a piece in his mouth.

He started gagging at the taste and jumped up to spit it out in the sink "aw gross!" Dipper complained, he reached into the bowl again and grabbed a random candy. He held it up close to get a better look at it "did Grunkle Stan get the cheap storebrand stuff? No wonder people prank the Shack!"

"Careful dude" Soos said, as Dipper got up to throw the candy out. "You don't want to attract the ire of the Summerween Trickster."

As Dipper and Mabel asked "who?" together, Soos continued with his tale.

"The Summerween Trickster, is the spirit of our spooky holiday," he said dramatically "that prowls the night and devours all who lack the Summerween spirit."

"Really?" Dipper said "I mean, are you sure that's just a story to keep kids from causing trouble?"

"Nope, my cousin Reggie swears he's seen it before, and it totally ate him dude."

"Huh" Dipper was intrigued. Since finding the Journal he hadn't really investigated as many creatures (or even heard of many) as much as he wanted. "Okay, well you don't have to worry about us. Mabel and I have enough spirit to go around!"

"I'm gonna go call Pacifica" Mabel announced before running off.

As Mabel walked off, there was a knock on the door to interrupt the silence that developed between the remaining three. "No way she got here that fast…" Dipper muttered.

And he was right, "hey dude," Wendy greeted. "figured I would stop by and tell you all about a party Tambry was throwing tonight."

Dipper smiled, forgetting that there were two girls dressed for Trick-or-Treating behind him. "That sounds awesome, maybe I can talk to the others about going."

Wendy spotted the girls there as she ignored Dipper's blushing, and gave them a wave. "Hey you two, everyone is invited so feel free to stop by before your night is up. Gonna be up late celebrating, though I gotta warn you, it's not SNP approved. So no pictures."

"Oh hey Wendy!" Mabel said, walking back into the room "are you coming Trick-or-Treating with us?"

Wendy chuckled as she shook her head. "Nah, I'm still needed to help with the party set up."

"You're doing a party?" Mabel asked, having not heard the beginning of the conversation.

Wendy shrugged. "Not me per say, Tambry is the one throwing it while her parents are out of town. Not SNP approved, so no pictures, but Tambs said I could throw an invite to you guys before I showed up to help set it up."

"Thanks" Mabel said "but like I said, we're going Trick-Or-Treating. We're gonna get so much candy! I even got Pacifica to come with us."

Wendy shrugged. "You guys enjoy your time then, the party will go on pretty late so if you decide to stop early, feel free to join us."

"Okay, bye!" Mabel waved as she headed out then looked back at her brother who was pouting "what's up with you?"

Dipper shifted slightly as he turned away from her. "I was kind of hoping to go with Wendy to the party, in all honesty. We hardly ever get a chance to do things like that."

As Mabel was getting ready to say something, she was cut off. "So, even after inviting me, you planned to ditch me?"

As the group turned, they found Pacifica entering through the still opened door, in her usual clothes. She looked irritated with a raised brow towards the blind boy, as she almost glared at him.

Dipper rolled his eyes. "I don't need sight to feel the hostility, but seriously. We never get invited to parties, and we were all invited."

Pacifica rolled her eyes, taking notice that Dipper overexaggeratedly rolled his own back at her, somehow guessing what she did.

As she was hiding behind Grenda, Candy peaked out. "Is this what some call a sass-off?"

"Anyways" she rolled her eyes "I just came over to say I won't be doing this childish activity with you. I would have said it over the phone but someone hung up before I could."

There was a sudden knock on the door, and with it being right behind her, Pacifica rolled her eyes again as everyone looked at her. Mabel adjusted Dipper's view from the door, to join them in staring at Pacifica, causing him to give his sister an eye roll. "Ugh fine."

As Pacifica opened the door, there was an extremely tall guy standing there. "Trick or treat."

With a scoff, and a look up and down, Pacifica grabbed the candy bowl. "Wow, tacky and old, just what this place needed more of. Take your candy and go already."

"Silence!" The 'man' yelled "you have insulted me! For this you must pay... with your lives."

Pacifica rolled her eyes before giving the guy a condescending look. "Okay, you're taking this whole thing a bit too far. Nobody likes a drama queen."

"Uh Pacifica…" Soos sounded worried.

A small boy then stepped up the porch and said trick or treat, before the 'man' grabbed the poor boy by the head.

"Is this taking things too far?" He proceeded to drop the boy into his mouth as he swallowed him whole. "There's only one way for you to avoid his fate. I need a treat. If you can collect five-hundred pieces of candy, and bring them to me before the last jack-o-melon goes out.." He pulled out a jack-o-melon out of nowhere "I will let you live." He finished ominously, before blowing the candle within out.

As the Summerween Trickster crawled along the ceiling and to the roof to escape their view, Dipper blinked. "So, he ate the kid that had Summerween spirit, to threaten the ones that lacked it? Talk about counterproductive."

Dipper was suddenly smacked in the head by a piece of loser candy from nowhere. "Ow" he complained, more caught off guard than anything. "So…. I didn't see most of what went on but this is bad… Right?"

Mabel scoffed at her brother's words. "There need not be any worry, dear brother, we got this whole thing in the bag."

Candy and Grenda turned to the girl nervously, before Pacifica scoffed herself. "As if, I will just buy the freak candy. My family could just buy the whole store if it wants."

Before anyone could say more on the subject, they heard a haunting voice. "Those that cheat at trick or treat, shall pay the price."

Everyone that could see looked towards a random smiley mask that sat next to their candy bowl. Shivering as they realized they were being watched. "Creep." Pacifica got over her fear quick enough to respond first.

Mabel cleared her throat. "Well, with that settled, Dipper and Pacifica need to go and get into costume."

Pacifica glared at the girl. "I am not getting into anything, I never should have even left my mansion. Father was right, this whole thing is a pointless waste of time."

"Yeah," Mabel sighed "I should have thought that running around and having fun was just for us poor kids. Guess you have no idea how to have any."

Pacifica groaned. "Are you seriously trying that reverse psychology trick on me?"

Mabel blinked as she shifted her eyes. "No, I'm just saying…"

Dipper rolled his own eyes. "We're all stuck dealing with this issue, so there isn't a point in complaining about it. I'm going to go get changed, let me know when you're done arguing."

Dipper would have been more against dressing up, if he didn't already know that Mabel didn't choose something ridiculous like she normally would. Pacifica growled as she watched him leave.

Mabel almost smirked as she stepped up behind her. "Yeah, knowing the guy you're crushing on has a crush on a cooler, older girl, is kind of rough."

Pacifica glared at her. "As if you would know."

Her smile widened, "you aren't denying it."

Pacifica blinked as she realized that as well. "Shut up, loser."

Candy actually snickered there. "And he thinks she has a crush on Mabel as well. She is not going to have an easy time."

"He what?" Pacifica looked at Candy with complete disbelief.

Before anyone could answer her, Dipper was stepping down the stairs, now dressed as the Daredevil though he wasn't wearing the mask yet. "Your turn, girls."

Mabel giggled as she grabbed Pacifica by the arm and dragged her up stairs to the attic. Candy turned to Dipper, "so, what makes you believe Pacifica is crushing on Mabel?"

Dipper shrugged. "For starters, she had nothing but good things to say about her sweater. People normally don't bat an eye at them, or really say much about the work she puts into them. And she lured her friends away from bullying her at the fair. If that doesn't spell a crush, I don't know what does."

The girls stared at him, shocked, though he didn't notice. "So how does my costume look?" Dipper asked, "you know, since I can't really see it."

Both girls just gave him a thumbs up, mumbling generic compliments.

Pacifica and Mabel soon made their way down the stairs, Mabel was all smiles, even if you couldn't see it behind her mask, as Pacifica was still grumbling. "If only these knives were real."

"What's your costume?" Dipper asked her.

Mabel giggled as she revealed it to him. "I found and refitted an Elektra costume for her."

Dipper blinked. "You mean the only girl, other than his secretary, that Daredevil has any romantic interactions with?"

Mabel blew a raspberry at him. "Hey, it's a good costume, and there weren't many left."

"Oh…" Dipper said, unaware that this was planned "well it's lucky that not only you had it, but that you were able to refit it for her so fast."

Pacifica scoffed at his words. "I don't know how she did it, she shouldn't even know my sizes, yet she had a costume for me ready when she dragged me up there."

Mabel shrugged nonchalantly. "You have similar sizes to me, and anywhere you looked slightly off, I just had to be a little loose with. I am a professional artist Pazzy, there is nothing I can't craft."

Ignoring Pacifica's growl at the nickname, Mabel clapped her hands. "Alright people, time to handle this trick of the treating right. Me and Dipper are the queen and king of Halloween."

"I think you mean Dipper and I."

Ignoring her brother's correction she continued "everyone just eats up the whole 'twins in costume thing'."

"We aren't really matching though…" Dipper pointed out. "I mean yeah, we're both superheroes but we're from different comics."

Pacifica raised a brow at the boy. "Well, as long as they don't guess the tie in between our costumes, I couldn't care less."

"Grunkle Stan says that everyone here is kind of dumb" Dipper said, fiddling with his cane "so I doubt it. If anyone asks we can tell them that our costumes are from the same comic but we don't have to go into detail of the character's relationship."

Mabel did her best not to laugh at their situation, as she just grabbed her brother's arm and pulled on his mask. "Now, everything looks weird… Mabel, did you do something to my mask? Everything is red."

"I took your glasses and integrated them into it, by putting them into your mask behind some red plastic. We can easily just pull off the plastic and slide your glasses out of the slots when we're done."

"Huh, cool" Dipper said "it's going to get annoying with everything red but it's better than nothing!"

Mabel smiled as she got his stamp of approval. "And now, we face the creator of fear. To the trick and treating!"

—-

The streets were busy with kids Trick-Or-Treating mostly little kids with their parents and teens pranking people. Two of which, who they would have thought were helping Tambry, as they spotted Lee and Nate.

Pacifica groaned again, probably the fifth time since they left the Mystery Shack, as she was being dragged around by Mabel.

"Why aren't you on my side?" She asked Dipper "I would've thought you wouldn't want to do this either, what with the whole party thing you mentioned earlier."

Dipper gave the girl the best exasperated look he could "I don't know where Tambry lives. The only person that could help me wants to gallivant around town and get candy. Besides, Mabel and I only have so many years left before we're too old to do this."

Pacifica pouted at his answer. "Fine, how do I do this, truck-or-tread thing."

"You go up to a house, ring the doorbell, and say 'Trick-or-Treat'."

She raised a brow "are you sure this is legal?"

"Of course it is," Dipper said, "why else would we do it?"

"Well your Uncle is a conman" she pointed out.

"Touche."

"It also helps if you look really cute." Mabel added "that can help you get even more candy!"

"Which we are going to need," Dipper pointed out.

"Guess we can count you all out of helping." Pacifica snarked.

"Oh you just watch!" Dipper said as they approached the first house. "You ready Mabel?"

"You bet I am" she said, linking her arms with his "you guys just watch and learn. This is how Halloween Royalty gets enough candy to last them until Easter!"

The twins rang the doorbell and got into position, and the moment the door opened, they did a little dance, and finished with saying twins as they pulled their masks up a bit to prove it. The large man teared up a bit as he dumped a good amount of candy into their bags.

The two ran back to their friends to be met with job-smacked looks. "Wow" Candy said "you two weren't kidding, were you?"

Mabel nodded. "But of course, we never joke about Trick-Or-Treating."

Pacifica shook her head. "And you need me here, why?"

Dipper sighed "because you got the evil monster that worships this holiday, for whatever reason, angry. And now if you leave and do nothing, he will eat you."

Pacifica just continued to grumble as they made their way to the next house, where they ran into Lazy Susan, who decided to guess their costumes. Calling Grenada a chimney sweep, Candy litter, Mabel was called a jester, and as for Dipper. "And I see we have a couple of super heroes, Daredevil and Elektra."

The kids blinked as they wondered how she got just those two right. Dipper in particular. "How did you guess that?"

"Oh, this nice young boy recently started to live in town, and apparently he's blind. So a bunch of us old folk thought it would be nice to look into ways to not offend him, and we found this nice little comic about a blind superhero."

"That's… Sweet" Dipper said "but you do know I don't have super-senses like him… Right?"

Susan blinked, before squinting. "Oh, you're Stanford's boy? I didn't recognize you all dressed up. But yeah, we know how to separate reality from fiction, don't you worry."

Susan lifted her bad eyelid as she made it wink, as she said "wink." Susan took a moment to add handfuls of candy to each of their bags, as she waved them goodbye.

As they walked away Dipper leaned over to his sister "is it just me or is it weird to hear someone call Grunkle Stan 'Stanford'?"

"Not really, it is his name," she said "I guess it's kinda like how mom and dad call you 'Mason' when they are getting serious."

"I guess," Dipper shrugged. "I just don't think 'Stanford' suits him, that's all."

Pacifica was back to groaning. "Why should what they call your con artist uncle matter? She just told us that the town knows about the connection between our costumes."

"She never said that she knew our characters are together," Dipper pointed out, "and even if they did, you're wearing a mask, I doubt they know it's you."

Mabel leaned towards Candy and Grenda, before she whispered, "drama." causing the two to giggle.

Pacifica turned her glare towards them. "Don't you even dare. I don't know what you're planning, but you better not dare."

"What are you planning?" Dipper asked, "I hope it's more ways to get candy."

The girls all looked at each other intensely, none of them knowing what to tell him.

Dipper grumbled as he continued to walk along the sidewalk, his cane tapping away, after getting no response. Pacifica followed as she huffed at Mabel, getting tired of the girl's plotting.

Mabel grabbed Candy and Grenda as they got close to the next house as she pulled them out of sight. The man that answered the door gave a chuckle as he looked the two over. "Wow, an adorable super couple came all this way? Well here you go."

As the man dropped a couple of large handfuls of candy into their bags, the two blushed as they realized that the others weren't there, making the man think they were a couple. Didn't help they were both blushing up a storm.

"Why did he think we're a couple?" Dipper asked as they walked away, his face still flushed from embarrassment.

"Your sister ditched us to go there alone together." As her face remained flush as well, she was also growling as she managed to catch the other three girls behind a bush giggling.

"Why?" He asked "are they off getting more candy? That's a pretty good idea, to split up though I think Mabel and I should stay together. Use our twin charm and all that."

Pacifica just grumbled "I am more under the impression she wanted to prank us."

"Oh, because of our costumes" he nodded, "that sounds like her."

After that house, Mabel had gotten the two to go solo to several houses, and with the town all deciding to become comic buffs. For they all recognized who he was dressed as, and called him and Pacifica out as a pair, rather than him and his twin.

As much as he was starting to get along with Pacifica, Dipper found that he preferred it when he was with Mabel. Just feeling naturally more comfortable around his twin then he did this girl who was not quite his friend yet. Wasn't Mabel the one she was crushing on, why was she sticking with him?

Pacifica, on the other hand, while honestly enjoying spending some time with the smarter of the twins, was growing frustrated that she was being tricked into doing so. She was worth more than a pity experience like this, and it only frustrated her more when Dipper would act uncomfortable and distant while mumbling about that party and how Mabel should be the one with her instead of himself.

Pacifica never really cared for this before, because her father has always just explained it as poor kids running around and begging for candy, and a Northwest doesn't beg.

And there was nothing giving her hope for future enjoyment of the holiday either.

As the kids were finishing counting out the candy, dropping it into a wheelbarrow Soos was walking around with to help them out, they finally managed to get the full amount they needed. As everyone celebrated while Pacifica scoffed at them all.

Soos checked his watch. "Yo, dudes, it's fifteen til ten, about time to wrap things up. I'm gonna go bring my truck around so we can take a breather from walking."

"I'll go with you," Dipper offered.

While Dipper enjoyed some things about tonight, being left with the girls again won't be one. Especially with as often as Mabel has left him with Pacifica specifically.

"Spend all night Trick-or-Treating and having fun and he ditches us for Soos the first chance he gets." Mabel pouted as Dipper followed after Soos, the girl knowing Dipper heard her and rolled his eyes if the way his head moved was anything to go by.

Pacifica scoffed at the girl. "Like you're one to talk, you ditched him with me every chance you got."

Mabel blinked, staring at the rich girl she had dragged into their fun. "I figured you could use this chance to catch his attention."

Candy and Grenda stepped back as Pacifica began to growl at the spider girl. "Catch his attention? How!? He has been grumbling about his 'precious Wendy' and his dumb sister all night. How do you believe he would ever think anything of me, when he's under the impression that I like you, and his stupid crush on some older dumb teen and that stupid party that he was forced to miss because of me?"

At the end of her rant, Pacifica was actually tearing up a bit. Though before Mabel could get in a word, she continued. "The first chance I had to experience a holiday without my parents ruining it with their 'superior than thou attitudes, and I am forced to spend it with a boy that wants nothing to do with me!"

Pacifica's frustration grew too much to handle at this point, and she wound up kicking the wheelbarrow, knocking it over. As the candy spilled into the bush next to it, Pacifica stepped away from Mabel as she took deep breaths to calm herself.

Mabel sighed as she stepped over to Pacifica as Candy and Grenda picked up the wheelbarrow. Placing a hand on her shoulder, Mabel went to speak but Pacifica smacked her hand off.

"Don't! Your little game throughout the night has already made things clear." She said "and now I have to deal with going back to your hovel in the back of a filthy truck like some commoner's luggage."

Mabel frowned, genuinely worried for the other girl. Candy then called out to them. "Mabel, we might have a problem."

They found her pointing down a hill, where they watched as the last couple pieces of their summerween candy rolled into a river.

Mabel gulped. "That's bad."

Pacifica's emotional turmoil was put on hold as they all began to panic as they took notice of everyone blowing out the jack-o-melons. The last one being in the hands of old man Mcgucket.

Mabel shouted at him. "Mcgucket! Don't blow out that candle!"

The crazed old man turned to look at them, Mabel pulled out her grappling hook and shot herself towards him, catching the old man off guard as she tackled him. Mabel held the watermelon up as she shouted in victory.

The other girls ran over, relieved and happy that Mabel had managed to prevent the last jack-o-melon from going out. Mcgucket blinked and decided to celebrate as well, though when he jumped up and started to dance, he smacked the melon from Mabel's hands and caused it to smash to the ground, effectively putting it out.

The girls all gasped as they stared down at the smashed fruit. Before they all hear a haunting chuckle. "You have failed, time for your punishment."

As the girls look up, they see the trickster standing a distance away, causing them to shiver as they realize how close he actually sounded. The trickster begins running, his hands increasing in size and becoming clawed.

It was at that moment that Soos and Dipper returned, running the Trickster over with the handyman's truck. "Woah, did I just hit someone?"

—-

Dipper was sitting in the front seat of Soos' truck, the girls were in the back, while Soos sped through the empty streets of Gravity Falls. All the while the Summerween Trickster chased them.

He didn't know exactly what had happened (the girls were refusing to tell him) all he knew was that, somehow, all the candy they had collected was gone. And now they had a monster on their tails trying to eat them, never mind the fact that it had gotten run over!

"We need somewhere to hide," he said, "if that guy can just stand up after being run over, we just have to ditch him and hope he follows the rules we know of holiday spirits."

"There are rules with Holiday spirits?" Soos asked.

Dipper shrugged, "I'm going off of common themes from old myths and legends. There isn't any proof for or against it, but it's all I got. Unless someone else has a different idea, we can only hope he enters a hibernate-like state when Summerween ends, or he just disappears."

"So what you're saying is that we wait until midnight and hope that the monster disappears?" Candy asked.

"That just about sums it up, yeah."

They were interrupted by a loud 'thud' and they all turned to see that the trickster had jumped onto the bed of the truck, they all screamed and Soos swerved in an attempt to shake him off. Thankfully it worked and the monster flew off and hit a light pole.

"Woah dudes" Soos said "that was a close one!"

"Hey uh Soos" Mabel said her voice panicked "we're about to hit something!"

There was more screaming as Soos slammed his foot on the brakes and they crashed into the Summerween Superstore. Everybody groaned in pain as they recovered, luckily it didn't seem any of them were seriously hurt, just a few bruises.

Mabel turned in her seat to see the Summerween Trickster reforming and started to approach the car "he's coming back!"

"We gotta hide," Dipper said.

The group ran into the store and hid among the shelves of leftover decorations and costumes Dipper and Pacfiica ended up hiding on the same shelf while Mabel, Candy, and Grenda were on the one on the aisle across from them.

Dipper gripped his folded cane with both hands and whispered to the girl next to him "can you see where he is?"

Pacifica peeked out "it's by the door."

"Do we know if there's a different exit?" Dipper asked, "I mean, there has to be one in case of emergencies, right?"

Unfortunately none of them knew if there was another, much less where it might be. Pacifica groaned "and this is why this holiday is stupid!"

"Wait…" Dipper said "are you the reason the Trickster is after us now?"

Pacifica actually started to tear up slightly as she began to breathe irregularly and slightly mumble. "I… I… messed up. Nothing has gone right since I left the house, everything has just completely fallen apart. Daddy was right, daddy is always right."

The rest of the kids looked a bit concerned, and maybe slightly scared as Dipper reached over and rubbed her back as he heard what she was saying. "Ever since I disobeyed, I have been failing, and failing has led me to being eaten alive. I should have never gone against Father's wishes and should have been a good little winner and never stepped out of the house."

"Horseradish," Mabel's interruption caused Pacifica to flinch as she turned to look at the girl. "Everybody fails and that's okay! I mean, I have failed several times tonight alone and my biggest one was pushing you out of your comfort zone and leaving you alone."

Dipper sighed. "I think what she means is, she's sorry."

"Thanks" she sniffed as she began to calm down, Dipper still rubbing circles into her back helping to soothe her nerves. "I guess I can forgive you."

The kids all smiled at each other only for the moment as the trickster found them, attracted to the sounds of their conversation for they had all forgotten to stay quiet. "Found you!"

The kids all began to run away as they began to scream, the Trickster jumping to and crawling along the ceiling so as to drop down in front of the hole they made with Soos' truck, causing them to turn and run the opposite direction. "You can't escape me children."

The fear paused slightly as they all heard "I would say put it there, but I'm just a bonehead without a hand. Skull pun!"

The Trickster slouched slightly, obviously not liking the sense of humor as Soos spoke up. "This guy says it like it is."

The monster picked the handyman up and devoured him, causing the kids to all scream. He then 'accidentally' knocked over the display so plastic skulls would crack and break against the floor. "Looks like this bonehead's cracked his last puuuun…"

In retaliation the kids began to use fake weapons to try and defeat the Summerween Trickster and avenge Soos. Mabel made sure to stay next to Dipper to help make sure he didn't accidentally hit one of their friends.

Grenada used her plastic axe to chop off one of its arms and it shattered into pieces, she picked one of them up and frowned. "Saltwater Taffy? Gross!"

Dipper felt his bat make contact with the monster and managed to pick up one of the pieces and tasted it "Gummy Chairs? Hang on… Is this-"

"Loser candy!" Mabel finished.

"That's right!" The Trickster said "did you ever stop and think about the candy at the bottom of the bag that no one likes? Every year the children of Gravity Falls throw away all of the 'REJECTED' candy into the dump. So I seek revenge; revenge on the picky children who cast me aside. I'm made of every tossed piece of black licorice, every discarded bar of old chocolate with like that white, powder stuff on it. You know that stuff!"

"I hate that stuff!" Mabel said.

"No one would eat me." They said "but now, I'm going to eat you."

As the Trickster pulled his form back together and stood taller, the center of his chest began to rumble. As he looked down at himself, Soos burst out, hands full of candy as he shoved handfuls in his mouth.

The Trickster blinks as he speaks. "You're eating me?"

Soos shrugged as he turned to look at him. "Yeah dude, candy is candy after all. I usually accept my friends' candy that they don't want."

"That's all I've ever wanted."

As the Trickster began to break down and lose his anger, he began to cry candy corn. Soos blinked as he watched for a second. "Is it weird if he cries? Should I stop?... Nah."

As Soos continues to eat the pile of loser candy, a short boy pops up from it. "'Sup Gorny."

"I've been traumatized!"

The kids, still watching in slight horror and disbelief with Dipper once more being thankful he can't really see the scene, all just groan as they walk by, waving off Soos' offer to eat some.

Mabel coaches Dipper to the front seat, claiming the bed of Soos' truck for the girls as Soos runs to catch up with them to drive them back to the Shack.

Candy and Grenda sit towards the front of the bed, leaving Mabel and Pacifica sitting across from each other towards the back. The blonde girl began peeling off some of the smaller bits of her costume, more than done for the night.

Mabel fiddled his her sleeves for a moment before taking a deep breath "hey Pacifica?"

She glanced over at her "yeah?"

Seeing she had the blonde's attention, she continued. "I really am sorry for how your night turned out. I didn't mean for all this to happen, I just wanted to give you a chance to spend your first Summerween with the boy you liked."

Pacifica sighed "it's fine, I'm not upset anymore. Mostly. But I need you to drop this thing you think me and Dipper have. Even if I did like him, which I don't, it's never going to happen. He clearly likes someone else."

"That doesn't mean you should give up. You have just as much of a chance as any other girl, and he mostly relies on personality since he can't really… Wait." Mabel realized what she was saying as she spoke.

Despite herself Pacifica snorted out a laugh "look Mabel, I appreciate that but really, it's fine. I'll be okay with just being friends and you trying to pair us together every five minutes will just make things weird."

Mabel thought that over before slowly nodding. "Okay, fine. I'll stop. For now. But when Dipper loses interest in Wendy, I'm jumping back into it!"

"I guess that's better than nothing," Pacifica sighed.

Yay, a new chapter after so long of not posting. A Summerween special for Halloween, I hope you all enjoyed our little adventure.

I feel I should apologize for taking so long to post another update. Both of us got a bit busy and I specifically haven't been feeling the best lately.
