Despicable Me: The Project Chapter 2

''Come on. The car should be over there!'' said Gru. ''I need a break! My feet are sore!'' groaned Lucy. 'Why would you bring high-heels on a hiking trip?'' asked Margo. ''I tried to look pretty for a trip like this'' replied Lucy. Two hours later, Margo was still trying to interpret the map and even she couldn't figure it out. ''OK, uh, the map says . . . uhh . . . . We should be . . . The car should be over there. We should be there in an hour'' she said. ''Oh, Margo! You said that two hours ago'' sighed Lucy. ''You don't know where we are, do you?'' said Gru. ''I know but if we just follow the map'' said Margo. ''Can we just figure this out and get out. I'm done with this place'' interrupted Dru before Margo could say anything else. ''Give me the map!'' ordered Gru snatching it out of Margo's hands. He looked at it.

It was a useless-looking, stereotypical cartoon map and stuff.

''What?! How can you read this map?! It's just a stupid dotted line with an X! That's a cartoon map for preschool kids!'' pouted Edith. More than a hour later, the family had had what looked like a forever enteral walk. It was cold and they kept coming back to the same old trees no matter what direction they looked in. Everyone's feet ached from walking so much. ''Just admit that we're lost, will ya?!'' complained Lucy. Just then, they noticed that the map was missing. ''Where's the map?'' asked Gru. ''Oh, no! It's gone!'' cried Dru. ''What?'' said Lucy turning to her daughters, ''Girls?.

The girls having a heated argument. ''Edith, give me the map!'' ordered Margo.

''I don't have the map! I gave it to you!'' said Edith. ''I instantly remember giving YOU the map!'' said Margo. ''And I gave it back!'' insisted Edith. ''Edith, I know you too well! Now stop messing around!'' snapped Margo. ''I'm NOT messing around! I don't have the map!'' hissed Edith. ''Uhhhh... I think Lucky ate it'' said Agnes. Lucky bleated and burped out a small piece of paper. ''Lucky, you ate the map!'' cried Edith, ''Forget it! It's useless anyway''. Several minutes later, the sun started to set, slowly turning into nighttime. ''We are so lost!'' moaned Dru. ''We're close to the car'' said Gru, ''I know it!''. ''Dad, you have no idea where the Grumoblie is'' said Margo. ''Next time, I'm driving'' said Lucy.

''What does Mom want? Gas money?'' asked Edith. An owl hooted nearby. ''I hear an owl'' said Agnes.

The minions mimicked the owl hooting and laughed. ''Lay off, Minions!'' ordered Dru. ''I want to go home!'' moaned Margo. ''I'm working on it'' said Gru. The full moon shone very brightly that night, casting scary shadows on the ground. Lucky glanced up at the trees with spidery branches. Lucky nuzzled Agnes softly as the cold wind blew. When suddenly . . . ''Wait, guys! I lost my glasses!'' cried Margo. ''Here we go again!'' groaned Dru. ''Margo, for cryin' out loud!'' groaned Gru, ''A glasses strap! How many times do we have to tell you? A GLASSES STRAP!''. ''Just help her look!'' said Lucy, ''She can't see without her glasses!''. ''Oh, so, we need to find her glasses for her?!'' said Edith sarcastically. ''Guys?'' came the sound of Margo's voice in the distance. ''Where'd she go?'' said Gru. ''She wandered off'' said Lucy and she called out, ''Margo!''.

''Over here!'' called back Margo. ''Argh! This is just GREAT!'' growled Gru. Lucy found the missing glasses and gave them to Margo. ''Thank you Mom'' said Margo. Later...

''We're never gonna get outta here!'' panicked Dru. ''Look at that moon'' said Agnes. ''Dad was planning to steal the moon before he made his redemption'' said Margo. ''You want a full moon? Well, here it is . . .'' said Edith and she pulled down her pants and underwear to expose her bare buttocks. ''AAHH!'' cried Margo and Agnes. The minions laughed.

''EDITH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!'' yelled Margo, ''PULL YOUR PANTS UP!''. ''Is this bothering you?!'' cackled Edith.

''YES, IT IS! PULL THEM UP!'' yelled Margo. ''Girls, what's going on?'' asked Lucy. Then she saw Edith and gasped. ''EDITH!'' Pull up your pants! This is no time to be silly!'' snapped Lucy.

Edith was still laughing. ''Pull your pants up!'' ordered Margo. A long while later, the family was still lost in the woods, which has been all day. ''It's too dark to go any further'' said Gru. ''Come on'' said Lucy as she started to put the tent up. The rest of the family helped her. Suddenly...

There was a loud rumbling sound. ''WHAT IS IT?!'' cried Lucy. ''It's coming from over there!'' said Gru pointing.

Everyone ran towards the sound. ''GRU! TELL ME WHAT IT IS!'' yelled Lucy. It was actually Agnes and Lucky with empty stomachs growling. ''Sorry. It's just our stomachs'' said Agnes. Lucky bleated. Later the family was all huddled inside the tent together. They slept for a while. Suddenly, there was the sound of crunching and munching. Margo was the first to wake up. ''What's that noise?'' she gasped.

She went outside with a flashlight to see. Margo saw some snack crumbs on the ground. ''Someone's been in our backpacks!'' she told the others, ''They ate our food!''. It turned out Agnes and Lucky had eaten the food cos of their empty stomachs. Margo gasped in horror. ''AGNES! LUCKY!'' she thundered, appalled. ''Sorry'' said Agnes. Lucky bleated in apology. ''What are we going to do now?'' said Lucy, ''We couldn't find the vehicle and I haven't painted my nails in two days''. A branch snapped making everyone gasp. Bowser shadowed in the distance, roaring loudly. The Gru family screamed and yelled as they ran to make their escape. They ran further and further into the forest, before they stumbled down a slope. Gasping for air, they looked back to see if the beast was behind them.

But Bowser was nowhere to be seen. Gru would've said something about how he should try to stay in better shape, but he was panting too hard to talk.
