The Faun

Harry knew that something was going to happen that night- something that wasn't Allen being willingly turned into a werewolf that is. And his two friends struggled to talk him out of doing something really really dumb.

"Harry, you are not going into the forest in the middle of the night while there are werewolves and god knows what else!" Hermione stood with her hands on her hips in the empty classroom they'd apprehended for the time being.

"Look. I don't know what is going to happen but all I know is that something's gonna happen to Kanda. I just know it. The stuff with the Fae. I don't buy him dropping it. I saw the notes. He was determined."

"For Lenalee, mate"

"No" Harry shook his head "this is something else. Haven't you noticed how tired he's been? Prophecies being blocked are - like Snape said - a longer term issue to solve. Kanda was planning like a man running out of time. You even said yourself that they were blocking her to get to him."

Hermione and Ron looked at each other and decided to at least hear him out, each sitting on a desk.

"What do you think is happening then? I must admit that I was worried about the thought of him bargaining with Fae - I read up on it and they never end well"

"Never?"

"I mean like 0.1% of all deals may end well for the human party but they're the odds we're looking at here"

Ron whistled and Harry looked more determined than ever.

"We need to follow him. Tonight. I feel like it's tonight."

"The full moon?" Hermione asked softly. Harry nodded,

"Weird stuff happens on full moons. Not just werewolves"

"Do you have a plan?" Ron leant forwards, finally taking it seriously. He was fond of the apprentices, they all were, so if he could help them he would.

"We need to beat Kanda into the forest and for that we'll need you, Hermione"

Hermione say up straight,

"Me? Why me specifically?"

"You told us about a fancy piece of jewellery that you own that could help us time everything perfectly"

"The time turner? You know I'm only supposed to use that for classes, Harry"

"But this is an emergency Hermione! Kanda is in danger and he won't even let Snape help. I want to help him. I can't - I won't lose him"

Ron slipped off his table and stood in front of Harry, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"We won't lose him."

Hermione finally relented and stood beside Ron.

"Alright. What do you want us to do?"

Harry's face was grim.

"We can't let them know we're going to the forest or they'll stop us. So, we'll just have to be in two places at once."
