In the techniques of the Six Powers, "Soru" training had a detailed description in the original work.
In an extremely short period, you repeatedly stamp your feet dozens of times to generate rapid forward momentum.
It sounds somewhat ridiculous, but in this world, it's achievable.
Once the body reaches the necessary physical standards, precise control of one's strength is needed, using mental intent to harness the power in one's legs to push off the air.
Right now, Kevin launched himself from the battleship, easily evading the incoming cannonballs, and headed straight for the deck of the pirate ship.
"Navy's here!"
"Damn, he flew over! Shoot him!"
"Take down this Navy scum! That's the Executioner, Kevin, returning from Loguetown!"
"If we kill the one who executed Roger, we'll make a huge name for ourselves on the Grand Line!"
"Bang, bang, bang…"
Countless lead bullets were fired, yet Kevin, who had already landed, seemed to sense the trajectory of every bullet, dodging them with minimal effort.
"You people…even if you make it to the Grand Line, you'll just end up fish food."
Before he even finished speaking, Kevin grabbed a pirate by the head and tossed him straight into the crowd.
Following this was a scene like a tiger tearing through a flock of sheep.
The gap in physical abilities became glaringly obvious. With Observation Haki, Kevin sensed every nearby attack, and each of his strikes left his enemies incapacitated.
Soon enough, the deck was cleared, leaving only the captain, whose legs buckled as he collapsed.
He never imagined the kind of opponents he'd face at sea, convinced that all it took to find the fabled One Piece was a gun, a crew, and a ship.
To him, looting, killing, and pillaging were what freedom was all about.
Splat!
With a spray of blood, the rookie pirate who had been dreaming of future glories only an hour earlier was beheaded.
In half an hour, Kevin had cleared all five pirate ships, which had only boasted sin levels in the low triple digits.
Soaked in blood, Kevin returned to the warship.
Every gaze upon him had shifted.
Seeing him walk on air, destroy cannonballs with his Armament Haki, and wipe out five pirate crews single-handedly—many were beginning to see Kevin as another one of those potential monsters the Navy's main base might one day count on.
The thought of him reaching admiral level…
The sailors quickly brushed that thought aside; admirals were on another level entirely.
…
"Kevin, you're insane! When did you get this strong?"
"That was Haki, right?"
"Being able to destroy cannonballs unharmed—you're a monster now…"
After returning to the West Blue through the Red Line's special passage, Kevin was back among old comrades, and as an ensign, rank didn't matter as much here.
Kevin chuckled as he grabbed a supply officer and whispered, "Get our people up there—our usual share of spoils. Don't let anyone else take them to 'register' as public goods."
"Got it, got it," the supply officer, also an old hand, chuckled before dashing off to gather "their people."
Soon, an officer approached, chuckling, "Still the same, huh? We're nearly back at Lasgap Town. With Captain Romi here, who'd dare mess with your spoils?"
Kevin smirked, "It's habit. You know, I've got my hobbies."
Rem teased, "You're a regular at the dance halls in Lasgap. So how about Loguetown's 'scenic spots'? Did you see anything…different?"
"Ha!" Kevin clapped his hands. "You bet there's a difference. You should try it; East and West Blue are completely different experiences."
Kevin drew closer, despite the blood covering him, and whispered, "Over in the West Blue, you get that city girl vibe, right? Lace underwear and all that. But in the East, it's different…even old-school bellybands are in!"
Rem tried to elbow him away but couldn't prevent Kevin's closer approach, grumbling, "You go to the East Blue once, and now you're using Moonwalk and Haki?"
"Kevin."
"What? You want the lowdown on those East Blue beauties?"
"Get lost. I don't know how you keep getting stronger, always skipping the hard work. I'm jealous of that natural talent!"
After sighing, Rem nudged him with his elbow, "You got any tips? Teach me some of this stuff?"
Kevin didn't reply but kept his eyes on Rem with a knowing grin.
Rem, knowing Kevin's character, immediately caught on to what that grin of his "partner-in-crime" meant.
"I'll pay you three years' salary if I can pick it up! I'm serious!"
Clearly, Rem was determined to go through with it.
But Kevin just shook his head, and Rem looked desperate.
It had been hard enough to get Kevin to talk about anything besides "natural talent." This time, it sounded like he had a real method, and there was no guarantee he'd open up again.
"Five years! That's nearly 80 million Berries for me, and if I master Haki, I'm sure I'll get a promotion. That'd mean over 100 million!"
Kevin quipped, "Didn't you say you didn't know anyone in high places? If that's the case, what makes you so sure about your promotion?"
Kevin glanced around.
By now, most of the crew was boarding the pirate ships to loot. A few were reloading the cannonballs they'd just removed, steering, or adjusting the sails.
"My trip to the East wasn't just about Haki. I met an important middleman on the Grand Line while I was there."
Kevin winked. "You know how it is—move one shipment, and there's no shortage of buyers."
