Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Sailor Stars: Chaos Theory
Act 5: Kaiou Michiru
By: Sora Kazeno
The long awaited concert since the return of the Three Lights! An update on Mamoru, all the girls hanging out together again and Usagi's mother embarrassing her! And those are just the highlights.
"But it is your concert! You have to have an extra ticket or two to give out!" Minako pleaded with Yaten.
Yaten looked over at Taiki who had shrugged his shoulders at him. Then inspiration struck Yaten. He did have a few tickets and if he gave some out they could keep an eye on them. "All right, fine," Yaten said with groan as he tried to play it cool. He handed Minako a ticket.
Minako grabbed the ticket and began to jump up and down shrieking in delight.
Yaten's eye twitched at just how loud and high pitched Minako could be. He then put part two of his plan into action. "Here's the other just don't screech like a banshee," said Yaten as she gave her the other ticket. Before she could respond he said, "why don't you ask a classmate or somebody."
Taiki smiled at Yaten's choice of words. Ami was the only other person in the room with them at the time. Yaten had planned this.
Minako ran over to Ami and slammed the ticket on her desk and exclaimed, "we're going to a concert tonight! And I'm not talking no for an answer! You can take one night off from studying."
Ami was shocked by Minako's forwardness. "I.. um… okay…" Ami said with a lot of hesitation in her voice. In all honesty she was afraid to tell Minako no.
"Stay out of my way next time!" Sailor Heavy Metal shouted as Sailor Phi. "You nearly ruined everything!"
Sailor Phi laughed at her outburst. "How could I almost ruin things? Without me you wouldn't know that Sailor Mars didn't the starseed we are searching for."
"Both of you need to knock it off," Sailor Chi interjected. "As long as we search the starseeds and find the correct one it really doesn't matter who checks them. We just need to find the one."
"While you were busy arguing, my sister and I have planned our next attack and target. It will be a rather… musical event!" Sailor Lethe said with glee. "We are getting close! I know it."
"I've gone through the test results Chiba-san and I don't understand why you've been receiving headaches, or having sudden symptoms of nausea. As for the memory issue it might be some kind of lasting effect from the car accident you were in as a child. When I treated you for that it didn't seem like would be complications but now I can't rule it out for sure. Have you been under a lot of stress lately?" The doctor asked him.
Mamoru thought carefully before he chose his next words. "It's like I come across something from the past and I'm not sure what it is supposed to mean but it seems to follow by a headache. I've also been really tired lately."
The doctor sat quietly for a moment. "I suggest lots of rest the next couple of days. It might be that some of your past memories prior to the car accident are trying to return. I've seen some cases of it. I can't emphasize enough to get rest."
"Thank you Doctor. I'll make sure I take it easy the next couple of days," Mamoru said as he got up and left the room. He followed Motoki's advice and went to the doctor but it didn't help eliminate his confusion at all. Mamoru walked out of the office and back onto the busy streets of Tokyo. It seemed like every time he saw that blonde girl it triggered something. He wanted to ask Motoki about it but he felt if he did Motoki would think he was losing his mind just like when the rose seemed to appear out of nowhere.
He couldn't help but wonder what else he had forgotten about besides this blonde girl he seems see constantly. Mamoru paused to look at a poster advertising the concert between the Three Lights and Kaiou Michiru. He looked at the four people on the poster. They all looked familiar to him too. 'It must be because they have been in the news a lot. They're celebrities.' Mamoru thought as he resumed his walk. He passed a woman with long black hair. He didn't acknowledge her or even seem to notice her.
Rei frowned. It was exactly as Makoto described it to her. Mamoru didn't remember anything. If he did he would have at least said hi. It wasn't unusual to pass each other in the street due to the proximity of their residences. She was afraid to tell Usagi since it would probably upset her. She decided to tell Makoto privately later.
"Take care," Haruka said as she closed the car door for Michiru. "I'm going to go to the race track for a little bit while you finish practicing. I will make sure to be back in time for your concert. I wouldn't miss if for the world," said Haruka with a wink.
Michiru smiled at Haruka's remarks. "Thank you for giving me a ride. I look forward to seeing you later," she said with a smile. She adjusted the garment bag she had in her arms. She didn't want to crush the dress inside the bag. She headed to the side entrance of the concert hall and was greeted by some of the staff at the door. One of the assistants led her to her dressing room.
Michiru places her belongings down in her room and was immediately drown to the flowers in her dressing room. There was a note next to the flowers. She picked up the card which said "From your biggest fan". Michiru smiled at the card.
She walked over to her violin case and unlatched the locks. She was about to pick up her instrument to make sure it was in tune but froze before her fingers even touched the strings. She suddenly had a chill. She looked around the room but no one else was present. She felt an evil aura but she couldn't see it. She wished there was some way she find the source of the bad vibe she received. She sighed again. She looked over by the flowers again and was startled to see an aqua and gold colored mirror lying next to the flowers. She could have sworn the mirror wasn't there a minute ago. She picked up the mirror and examined it. It didn't look anything out of the ordinary. She turned over the mirror and noticed the aqua trident embroidered in the back. "Curious," she said as she placed the mirror back on the table where she found it.
Seiya smiled as he walked into the concert hall. He never thought he would back here performing again. He thought of the last concert he was in to find the Light of Hope before the final battle with Galaxia. Yet here he was on Earth again and different Sailor Senshi are after starseeds.
"Why did we agree to this again weeks ago?" Asked Taiki as he tied his tie; he waited for a response from the others and did not receive one. "At least we will be able to use it to our advantage. Several of the senshi will be here. What the odds there won't be an attack?"
"So what happens when they find what they are looking for?" Yaten commented as he placed a flower in his breast pocket. "We've been on this planet for too long."
"But what if whatever it is destroys this planet and heads to our star system?" Taiki questioned Yaten. "I would rather stop the problem now than wait and risk endangering our home world right after we rebuilt it."
Seiya was quiet while they debated why there were attacks. An idea struck him. "You don't think… Galaxia is behind this again do you? "
"That would be incorrect Fighter."
"Princess!" The Three Lights explained as they immediately dropped to one knee as they bowed down to her.
"Rise," she told them. It was only a projection of herself she used to contact them.
"Galaxia and I have been monitoring the problems on Earth and we fear it is worse than we thought. It has made it necessary for us to join you on Earth. However, there are a few matters that must be attended to before we can meet you. In the meantime I implore you to watch over all of the Earth Senshi for I believe they will be the key to what is occurring. Please be safe." Princess Kakyuu said before she vanished from sight. A red butterfly flapped its wings several times before flying through a wall and disappearing.
"Did she just ask us to protect the Earth Senshi now, not just the planet?" A bewildered Yaten asked Taiki and Seiya.
Taiki was silent but nodded his head in agreement. "If the Princess will meet us here than it is going to be very serious soon. I don't think it is best to tell the others since we don't know much. I think it will only cause panic."
'Odango, what is going on here?' Seiya thought to himself.
Usagi walked off the bus with Makoto and Rei. She smiled at her friends. They made sure she got on the right bus this time and didn't get lost. This time she was going to be able to see the concert with them. Usagi left them for a few minutes to get a snack. Makoto and Rei told her they would wait for her.
Once Usagi was out of sight Rei used the opportunity to speak to Makoto. "I saw Mamoru-san this morning," she said softly.
"How is he?" Makoto asked as she also lowered her voice.
"He seemed confused as he walked around. He went right past me and didn't say anything thing either. I'm worried about Usagi," Rei said as she scanned the crowd for her.
"She does seem different," commented Makoto echoing Rei's concerns from the previous day. "I'm sure things will be back to normal once Mamoru-san has his memories back."
"But why hasn't she tried to jog his memories back like that last night? She seems so distant," said Rei as she turned to face Makoto. "She has Mamoru-san… but…"
"I know," Makoto said nodding her head. She knew exactly what Rei was trying to say and she saw it too. But Usagi seemed too fragile to even bring up in the open.
"And she knows how Seiya-kun feels…" Rei said as her voice traveled off.
"Ohhh! You guys are talking about Seiya-san!" Minako exclaimed as she appeared out of nowhere. "And you get to call him Seiya-kun like you know him well? I'm jealous! So what were you talking about? Huh? Are you talking Usagi-chan and Seiya-san? Huh? Huh?" Minako asked as she talked faster and faster.
"Umm… Minako-chan…"Ami said as she tugged at Minako's shirt to get her attention.
"Not now Ami-chan!" Minako told her as her attention was focused on Makoto and Rei. "What do you know about them?"
"Minako-chan!" Ami shouted at her.
The loud outburst from Ami whom is usually quiet caused her turn around and for the first time and realized that Usagi was there with taiyaki in her hand. She looked hurt.
"So this is what you talk about when I'm not here?" Usagi accused them with a few tears in her eyes. "Since when do I have to check in with you about whom I spend time with?"
The girls were taken aback. They didn't know how to respond. They knew Usagi had a point.
"We just want to look out for you Usagi," Rei said as she quickly tried to ease the tension.
"What is the big deal if Usagi-chan hangs out with Seiya-san? I say go for it!" Minako cheered completely obvious to the rest of the situation.
Usagi smiled at Minako's comment. "Hmm," she said in agreement. "We should go and sit down."
"Tsukino-san has a good idea," Ami said in agreement trying to redirect the conversation.
"Please call me Usagi-chan," Usagi said with a smile.
Ami was a bit surprised but responded in kind by saying, "please call me Ami-chan." Ami and Usagi started to head to their seats in the concert hall.
Makoto exchanged glances to Rei about Usagi's outburst. They both shrugged their shoulders. It didn't take long for the girls to find their seats.
Taiki knocked on the door to Michiru's dressing room. They weren't too surprised to see Haruka there. She didn't greet them with a warm reception. This was not a surprised. At least she wasn't glaring at them. If anything it looked more like annoyance. She still treated them as outsiders.
The Lights and Michiru didn't waste any time discussing last minute details for the concert they were about to perform in front of a large audience. The Lights left to finish their last minute preparations. Their talk did not last long.
Haruka closed the door behind them. When she turned around she noticed the mirror next to the flowers. Her eyes widen as she recognized the mirror or rather the talisman. "Where did this mirror come from?" Haruka asked as she walked over to the object.
"It's the strangest thing," Michiru said as she walked over to Haruka to stand next to her. "The flowers were here when I first walked in. I read the card and walked away. When I looked over there again the mirror was there. I guess I am more stressed out about this concert than I originally thought."
"Yeah," said Haruka not taking her eyes off the mirror. "It must be something like that."
A stage hand knocked on the door. "Ten minutes Kaiou-san."
"Thank you!" Michiru cheerfully replied as she took a deep breath. "Well whatever it is I will worry about it after the concert."
The crowd began cheering as the Three Lights took the stage for the first time in over a year. The Lights sang Nagareboshi Ne. Usagi thought of the last time they sang this song when they searched for the Light of Hope.
The Lights than sang Todokanu Omoi: My Friend's Love. After hearing the lyrics of the song Makoto looked over at Rei. How did they not catch this before? There is no way the song wasn't about Usagi. Or were they just jumping to conclusions? The crowded continued to roar.
Michiru came on stage and played a few pieces of her own. The Three Lights came back out and performed a few pieces with Michiru. The crowd continued to go bananas. Flowers were thrown on the stage as fan girls tried to ask the Three Lights out for dates.
After a thunderous applause everyone left the stage to go to their respected ways. The crowd began to thin down.
"We should try to sneak backstage!" Minako attempted to whisper to the other girls.
"Minako-chan, I don't think that is a good idea," Ami said as she pointed to the long line of other girls trying to get back stage to see the Three Lights.
"Umm… the tickets we received from Haruka-san let us go back stage," said Rei as she looked over the ticket in her possession.
"How did you receive such a ticket like that? The one I got from Yaten-kun didn't have that!" Minako exclaimed with a pouty face.
"We know Michiru-san," explained Rei. "She's…an old friend." Rei turned to the other girls, "we should go and say hi to her."
"And leave us here?" Minako protested at them. "I will still be able to see them by going back stage. I will use my charm and they will let us in," Minako plotted as she looked around for another entrance to the back of the stage. "This way Ami-chan!" Minako said as she dragged her away.
Usagi, Rei and Makoto went to the front of the line and showed the event staff their tickets that allowed them to go backstage much to the dismay of all the protesting fans behind them.
Minako continued to drag Ami toward a back entrance. She snuck them around the corner but they didn't get too far as a stage hand saw them. "What are you doing back here?" He asked as he inspected them for some type of backstage pass. There was none. Before he could ask any more questions they all heard a scream. The stage hand ran in that direction.
Minako knew something was going on and she knew she needed to help. She turned to Ami-chan, "get out of her Ami-chan! I have a bad feeling about this!" She said as she directed Ami to the exit.
Ami walked in the way Minako had directed her. She didn't say anything for a few moments. When she turned around to say something to Minako she realized she wasn't there. "Minako-chan?" Ami looked around some realized that she disappeared somewhere.
Haruka helped Michiru with her possessions as they left her dressing room. Michiru paused at the doorway when she saw an unfamiliar woman wearing a black dress with pinkish colored hair. She gasped since she did not expect someone to be right in the doorway. "Who are you?" She asked.
"I'm here to collecting something you have," she said with a smile.
Haruka noticed Sailor Lethe and said, "Michiru, get away from here! She's dangerous!"
"Oh how sweet. You're worried about her," Sailor Lethe teased her.
"Uranus Crystal Power, Make Up!"
Within seconds Sailor Uranus stood next to Michiru. Sailor Uranus turned to Michiru and told her, "I will protect you."
Sailor Lethe laughed at her remark, "and who is going to protect you?" Sailor Lethe continued to taunt her.
Sailor Uranus didn't want to hear anything further from Sailor Lethe as she lunged forward at her, nearly striking her with her fist.
"An old fashion fight huh? Sorry but that isn't my style!" Sailor Lethe said as she jumped out of the way. Sailor Lethe recognized her mistake after she landed ten feet away. She was no longer blocking the doorway which gave them a lot more room to maneuver.
Sailor Uranus summoned her talisman. She twisted the sword to the side ready to attack. The light reflected off the jewels which caused it to sparkle.
Sailor Lethe turned her head to the side and said in a condescending tone, "so you're going to sparkle me to death? Let me show you what a real attack looks like! Galactica Myosotis Alpestris!"
Sailor Uranus used her sword to block the attack. She tried to deflect it to the side but the hallway was only so large. "Run Michiru!" Sailor Uranus instructed her.
Michiru turned around and began to run down the hallway. She wasn't able to run very far because Sailor Mnemosyne stood there. Her arms rose in front of her face. Two golden orbs flew at Michiru. She barely had time to scream.
Sailor Uranus turned around just in time to see the flower open and an aqua starseed shimmer in the air.
Usagi, Rei and Makoto were able to find the Three Lights without much difficultly. Makoto knocked on their door.
"Come in," said Taiki as he finished collecting his things.
"Odango!" Seiya said happily when he saw her enter the room. The happiness didn't last long.
They heard a scream in the background that wasn't far from them. They quickly ran into the hallway and saw an aqua flash.
"Michiru-san!" Rei gasped as she covered her mouth. "Usagi!" Rei said as she pulled out her crystal wand for another battle.
"Moon Eternal, Make Up!"
"Mars Crystal Power, Make Up!"
"Jupiter Crystal Power, Make Up!"
"Fighter Star Power, Make Up!"
"Healer Star Power, Make Up!"
The senshi ran down the hallway trying to help Michiru as soon as they could. Within a minute they came across the back of Sailor Mnemosyne.
Sailor Mnemosyne sighed. "This isn't the right one either!" She pouted as she kicked the floor with her heeled shoe. The sound of footsteps made her turn around. She saw the six Sailor Senshi heading for her. "Make one wrong move and I will destroy the starseed," she warned the senshi in order to avoid them from moving closer to her.
"Do what she says," pleaded Sailor Uranus. She didn't want to risk anything happening to Michiru but she didn't have much time until her body would fade away. What happened next no one ever dreamed.
"Crescent Beam!"
A ray of orange and yellow light struck Sailor Mnemosyne. Sailor Mnemosyne lost the starseed and the new senshi picked up the starseed.
Sailor Moon's jaw dropped as she recognized the senshi that appeared before them. "Sailor V!?"
The Starlights looked at the new comer completely confused. She wore blue high heels, a navy blue skirt, a mid-sleeve length shirt with a sailor collar, white gloves with an orange accent, a crescent moon on her forehead and she was wearing a red pair of glasses on her face. She also had a red bow in her head like Minako.
"You can't be serious…" Sailor Star Healer said as she looked the outfit over from head to toe. "Minako..chan?"
Sailor V took a step back. She then tried to figure out what to do. 'How did she know who I am? No I have to play if off.' Sailor V thought to herself. "I don't know what you're talking about! I am the pretty sailor suited senshi Sailor V!" Sailor V followed her comment with a nervous laugh.
"Sailor V, please return the starseed to us!" Sailor Moon pleaded with her.
Sailor V looked around the room and saw various senshi everywhere. She didn't know who she could trust. Two different people wanted this glowing aqua object she held in her hands. She assumed it was a starseed since that is what the long haired Sailor Senshi called with large wings on her back. She also had a crescent mark on her forehead.
"Sailor V," said a white haired cat that came out of the shadows. "You can trust Sailor Moon. She is an ally," Artemis instructed her.
"Sailor…Moon?" Sailor V said as she looked the different senshi.
Sailor Moon took a few steps forward. "That's me," she spoke softly. "Please she is running out of time."
Sailor V looked over at Artemis one more time and he nodded his head at her. Sailor V passed the aqua starseed to Sailor Moon.
Sailor Moon immediately ran over to the woman that was on the floor that was quickly fading from sight. "Michiru-san…" Sailor Moon said as she returned her starseed.
Michiru gasped as it felt like she was immediately gaining her energy back. Her forehead felt warm as the sign of her guardian planet, Neptune appeared. A crystal wand appeared next to her. For the first time in over a week everything seemed clear to her.
"Neptune Crystal Power, Make Up!" Water surrounded the young woman and when it cleared Sailor Neptune was ready for battle.
Sailor V stood there gaping. Someone has just transformed into a Sailor Senshi before her. They weren't even worried about keeping their identity from her, a complete stranger.
"There is nothing more we can do here," said Sailor Lethe as she looked over to the senshi next to her. The girls vanished.
Sailor Moon was about to say something to Sailor V but she noticed she was gone.
"Someone has to explain to me what is going on," said Sailor Star Healer in a baffled tone.
"Some of Minako-chan's memories have started to return. But she doesn't remember being Sailor Venus, only Sailor V… before she met any of you," said Luna as she appeared next to Artemis. "It seems that she is on the verge of awakening as a full senshi."
"A simple explanation! Finally!" Sailor Star Maker said as she looked at the black cat. "So many things have been going on that no one has been able to make sense of."
"So… how do we nudge her to get the rest of her memories back?" Sailor Star Healer asked as she tapped a glove hand against her chin thinking out loud. "This will be easier with more senshi."
"As long as everyone… cooperates," said Sailor Uranus darkly.
"Uranus!" Sailor Moon said as she turned to face her. "They have helped us out so much, why can't you trust them yet? Everything they have done is to protect his planet!"
"I can't trust anyone from outside our solar system. They are here just as more senshi appeared," Sailor Uranus said as she walked over to Sailor Moon. "This is all related to the last time they were here."
"Can't we just get along for once?" Sailor Moon exclaimed at her. "Without them a lot of starseeds would have been lost in the past week."
Sailor Uranus sighed. She knew the discussion was not going to go anywhere. She was going to defend the Starlights. "For now," She said as she turned around and de-transformed in Haruka. Michiru followed suit. Haruka put her arm around Michiru and the two walked off.
Usagi watched their retreating form. She felt envious of them to a degree. Michiru now had her memories back and Usagi was left without Mamoru still. Usagi seemed to stare off into space not saying anything.
"I guess it's a good thing if some of the others are starting to get their memories back," Seiya said trying to lighten the mood. He had thought there had finally been an understanding among him and Haruka after he protected Sailor Moon against Galaxia. 'I guess some things don't change.' He thought to himself.
"So Sailor V? I thought that was just a video game," Taiki said as he looked over at the other girls.
"Sailor V was the first Sailor Senshi on Earth. For a while we thought she was the Moon Princess until Usagi regained her memories of her past life," Rei explained to the others. "This is the first time I've actually seen Sailor V in person. I've only seen her as Sailor Venus. At least she has Artemis to help her out."
"We should get going," Makoto said as she turned to the others. "It is getting late."
Rei nodded her head in agreement. She looked over at Usagi who still seemed to be in her own little world. Rei walked over to her, "Usagi?"
"Hmm?" Usagi said as she turned to face her.
"Are you okay?" Rei asked her voice full of concern.
"Yeah…" Usagi said as she tried to smile.
Rei didn't buy it at all. Something was still bothering her but she was keeping it to herself once again. This seemed to be a pattern with her lately. She wanted to talk to her more about it but not in front of the others.
"Since it is late let us give you a ride home," Seiya offered the three girls. The girls gratefully accepted the offer.
Rei thanked them for the ride when she dropped off in front of the shrine steps. She decided she would try talking to Usagi later. She would have plenty of chances in the next upcoming days.
When they arrived at the front of Makoto's apartment complex she also thanked them as she left the van. Makoto quickly stepped inside her apartment building and collected her mail before she began to climb the steps.
Usagi was left in the van with Seiya, Yaten and Taiki. Nobody said anything. Usagi continued to stare out the window as the city passed by her.
Seiya watched her closely. There was something different about her since she lost her memories and gained them back. Before he realized it they were already at Usagi's house. Usagi opened the door and began to climb out. Seiya snapped out of his daze and got out of the van with her. "Let me walk you to your door Odango." He said softly. "You look like you need someone to talk to."
Usagi smiled at his concern. After a moment she decided to confide in him. "The girls say I'm spending too much time with you. I don't understand why they are so concerned. The Starlights are our allies and you've been here for us," Usagi said as she slowed her pace to her front door. She didn't say anything for a few moments until they were a few steps away from the front door. "It is almost as if they don't trust me or something." Her voice grew quieter as she spoke. "Can't they understand how much I missed you?" Usagi asked as she turned to face him. A tear threatened to fall down her cheek.
Seiya didn't know how to respond. His heart was hammering in his chest. He wasn't sure how to respond to her words. "…Odango…" was all he was able to murmur.
The front door to Usagi's house flew open. "Seiya-san is here in person!" Ikkuko shouted with glee. "You have to come in for tea or something! I've been trying to get Usagi to invite you over for dinner! I have to thank you properly for saving my daughter from that evil bus!" Ikkuko continued to ramble on as she tried to drag Seiya into the house.
"Mom!" Usagi yelled at her. "Seiya… um can't stay he has an… interview tomorrow morning!" Exclaimed Usagi as she made up an excuse to try to get Seiya out of there. She didn't want her mother to ask a million questions.
Ikkuko frowned. "I guess that is the life of someone famous!" She said with a sigh. "To be famous…" She said out loud and she pictured herself being a movie star.
"Quickly," Usagi whispered to Seiya. "While she is thinking about being a movie star, run," Usagi nudged him. Seiya quickly left and headed to the van.
He was just about to jump in when Usagi's mom snapped out of her daze. "We didn't get to drink tea!"
Seiya got into the van and closed the door. The van quickly sped off.
"Another fan, eh?" Yaten teased as he waited for a retort.
Seiya didn't respond. He was thinking about what Usagi had told him before her mother opened the door. She had told him that she had missed him. For the first time Seiya was contemplating if she was actually starting to think of him as more than a friend.
"I missed my chance to have a famous musician in my house. Why did you have to scare him off Usagi?" Ikkuko asked her daughter. She continued to ramble on for a few more moments. Then she completely changed the conversation. She was reminded of the other young man Usagi had spent time with. "Usagi, I haven't seen Mamoru-san in a while. Is everything okay?"
"Everything is fine Mom!" Usagi said with a smile. There was no way she could tell her mother the truth. She wouldn't believe that her daughter is Sailor Moon.
What is the deal with Usagi? Why isn't she chasing after Mamoru? If you have been waiting for some type of Usagi and Mamoru scene then you definitely want to catch the next act! Along with a few more Seiya and Usagi moments. Are the girls correct to be concerned about Usagi spending so much time with Seiya? What is the worst that can happen?
Sailor V will appear again in the next act as she takes center stage on March 26th! Act 6: Aino Minako
