A Few Days After RWBY and Co Left for Paldea

BGM: Usual Days (Touhou 10.5: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody)

Ford looked through a map of Gensokyo. "Let's see… Youkai Mountain would be that way." He said as he walked toward Youkai Mountain.

"Hey old man!" Marisa came flying over.

"Ah, Miss Kirisame. A pleasure to see you again." Ford said.

"Where're your two compadres?"

"Patchouli and Koakuma had business to attend to, so they told me they would be unavailable during my research on Youkai Mountain."

"Ah, so you're going at it alone? I'll keep ya company."

"You sure?"

"Positive. Besides, there's someone you might bump into before you get there and she might bring misfortune upon you. It'd be best if I tagged along just in case."

"Fair enough."

"Alriiiiight~!" Marisa grinned. "I wonder what Patchy and Koakuma could possibly be up to?"

"Lady Remilia, our guests have arrived." Sakuya said.

Remilia turned her head while munching on some fruit. "Ah, Alucard and the Belmonts. Nice to see you again."

"Remilia. It is a pleasure." Alucard said.

Richter chuckled. "Don't worry about Simon, we wrapped him in bubble wrap this time."

"Mmmph…" Simon grumbled as he had several layers wrapped around him, practically restraining his arms. "That only happened once and you know it."

"Simon, you thought Remilia and Flandre were Dracula's daughters and you reacted… poorly." Alucard responded.

Simon looked away. "I have my reasons…"

"Indeed. I do not blame you since my father put you through the wringer, but-"

"So there is a way to restrain the savage beast~ Who knew his weakness would be bubblewrap? Now I know how to defend myself from the legendary Vampire Slayer~" Remilia teased, playfully sticking her tongue out, which made a cross vein appeared on Simon's head.

"Maybe we should've done chains…" Richter rubbed his chin.

"It does not help that you tend to visit Dracula." Simon glared.

"Come on, the guy needs a friend or two aside from that floating skeleton." Remilia said. "Especially considering he's going through a… Celeste epidemic."

"Yes, that Celeste individual is certainly a handful. I will admit it was amusing that she drove my father insane… I cannot help but feel pity for him these days."

"Rest assured, I've a feeling the tides of fate are about to change and Celeste's little extended visit in the castle is about to expire." Remilia said.

"Fate… the way you speak of it is nothing but witchcraft." Simon glared.

"And yet, your descendant can use magic at his fingertips. Do you hold the same disdain for him?"

"No. He is a Belmont."

"Okay, so let's talk about your stay at the Smash Mansion. There's a plethora of magical and supernatural beings just casually wandering around without a care in the world. Palutena, Zelda, Luminary, Bayonetta… just to name a few. Are they "satanic" as you describe it?"

"As long as they are using it for good, I do not care."

"Oh, but fate is where you draw the line?"

"Yet you were willing to put that gamer girl in her place when she took away that jester's chaos magic." Alucard said. "Remember when she got back from training to keep her chaos magic at bay?"

Earlier…

"The power of the Lord COMPELS YOU!" Simon threw his cross at Chiaki, who telekinetically caught it.

"Really, dude?" Chiaki deadpanned with a raised eyebrow. "Honestly, I'm not surprised you, of all people, think I need an exorcism."

Back in the present…

"It took you a while to warm up to her." Alucard said.

"Tch… I have my reasons."

Remilia shrugged. "Oh, what are we gonna do with you, you big headed buffoon?"

"Aaaanyway, you invited us over here for a reason, didn't you?" Richter spoke up, trying to ease the tension.

"Yes. I'm sure you three are familiar with monsters from the Monster Hunter world, correct?"

"Yes. We've faced them before in our world." Alucard said. "I would not be surprised if Dracula has a few of them under his wing."

"There is a Malzeno near the Misty Lake, and while it hasn't done anything yet, it is a bit intriguing as to why it wandered in a place such as this." Remilia explained.

"Ah, so you want us to take care of it?" Richter asked.

"More like prepare you for the upcoming fight ahead. Patchouli will help you with everything you need." Remilia said.

"Very well. We will head over to the library." Alucard said as the three walked off.

"M'lady, do you have to antagonize Simon?" Sakuya asked in exasperation.

"Come on, he makes it too easy~"

Meanwhile, at the Misty Lake…

"Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you, Becky!" Rumia said.

"Likewise." Becky smiled as Magnolia, Logue and Nick came back to Gensokyo and brought Becky along for the ride, mostly because they wanted to introduce her to their new friends.

"So, who's the edgy girl?" Cirno asked, looking over to see Maki sitting on a blanket and reading a book.

"Oh, that's Maki, the Ultimate Babysitter." Becky said. "And my nanny."

"Ultimate Babysitter?" Cirno tilted her head. "Yeesh, if looks could kill… honestly, I'd say she'd be more "Ultimate Edgelord"."

"I wouldn't be surprised if there would be such a title…" Maki mumbled. "I'm also here as adult supervision because, conveniently, Miss Foxtrot was needed in Eientei for some medical business. Even Kije is accompanying her because Bols is out on a two day mission with the Winter Ops."

"It was perfect~!" Becky smiled. "I thought this place would be the perfect spot for a picnic! We even brought swimsuits too."

"Hang on." Maki stood up as she brought out a measuring tape and measured the fairies and Youkai.

"Hmm? What are you…?" Daiyousei wondered.

"Checking your measurements. Okay… I know what to do here." She immediately brought out a chargeable sewing kit and quickly went right to work.

"I see Tsumugi's antics have rubbed off on you~" Becky giggled.

Maki hid a smile as best she could. "She… might have given me a few pointers on clothing…" She said as within ten minutes, she was able to create three swimsuits for the trio.

"Talk about efficient… what the heck?!" Magnolia said in surprise.

"Tsumugi's quick handiwork also… rubbed off on me." Maki said. I'm still questioning how she pulled that off.

Cirno immediately created an ice wall. "Aaand for some privacy!"

"Cirno, you're going to moon the whole lake?" Daiyousei asked.

"Oops!" Cirno put up an ice wall at the lake's edge. "There we go… now to separate the boys…" She snapped her fingers again.

"Boys? It's only me!" Nick said with a sigh. "Come on…"

A few minutes later…

"Is everyone ready?" Cirno asked.

"Yeah." Everyone said in unison.

"Alriiiiight!" Cirno undid the ice walls.

Magnolia was wearing a floral-patterned two-piece bikini with a halter-style top featuring a crisscrossing strap design under the bust, and matching bikini bottoms, both predominantly in a light cream color with orange floral accents.

Nick was wearing orange and black swim trunks with a white drawstring waist, featuring black panels on the front and sides, and a tied black and white string at the waist.

Meanwhile, Becky was wearing a lavender one-piece swimsuit with off-the-shoulder white ruffles around the neckline and thin halter straps while Logue was wearing a light pink two-piece bikini with white polka dots, featuring ruffled edges on both the top and bottom, a dark pink bow detail on the top, a small skirt-like ruffle around the waist of the bottoms, and dark pink edging on the straps and hems.

As for the fairy duo, Cirno was wearing a snow white one-piece swimsuit with icy blue side accents and side panels, featuring dark blue outlines, a small polar bear emblem on the chest, and a blue striped scrunchie on her right wrist, while Daiyousei was dressed in a pastel green two-piece swimsuit with white polka dots, a matching frilled skirt, and a large bow on the top piece. Rumia, on the other hand, was wearing a black swim dress with red accents.

Maki was also dressed in her swimsuit, a red bikini with a decorative bow and white accents on straps of the top piece (the very same swimsuit she wore in Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp), but wore a white zip-up hooded sweatshirt over it.

"Last one in the lake is a rotten mermaid!"

"Hey!" A voice called out.

"Sorry Wakisagihime!" Cirno called out. "...Last one in the lake is a rotten fish!"

"Excuse me?" A few fish Faunus swam by.

"Er… rotten seal?"

"Yo." A male seal faunus sunbathed.

"Okay… rotten… non-aquatic creature!" Cirno dove right in.

"Yeah, she's definitely a female Nick." Becky snickered.

"Told ya." Magnolia agreed as they dove into the water.

Maki, meanwhile, sat back down on the blanket, not feeling up for a swim. "Guess I'm a rotten non-aquatic creature." She said, trying not to chuckle.

Back with Ford and Marisa…

"And this is why I'm glad I tagged along." Marisa said, blowing smoke out of her Mini Hakkero as a Youkai was knocked down with her leg twitching.

"Hina Kagiyama, the youkai that brings misfortune to others…" Ford mused.

"Probably best not to document that one. There's no telling what kind of misfortune would happen."

"Considering what I've dealt with regarding Bill, I doubt she'd be worse."

"Fair enough, buuuuut best to keep your head on a swivel." Marisa said, pulling out her broom. "Hop on, I know a shortcut up the mountain."

With a nod, Ford got on the broom as Marisa flew off.

"So why don't we just go up?"

"And deal with Momiji? No thank you!" Marisa said as she flew around as they got near the Tengu settlement as they saw Aya flying around, the latter turning her head and waving at them as Ford waved back, but his eyes widened in surprise when he saw a Bishaten wandering around.

"Marisa… is that a Bishaten in the Tengu Village?"

"Hmm? Oh yeah, it is!"

"There are monsters here in Gensokyo?"

"Ah, I see Reimu didn't tell ya. …Granted, I didn't think about it either so that's kinda on me too." Marisa said. "You see, monsters tend to pop in every once in a while and either me, Reimu, Youmu, Sakuya or Sanae take care of it. Either by killing them or sending them on their way. Rathalos, Legiana, Anjanath, Barroth, you name it. Though some claimed territory and live amongst the Youkai as if it's their guardian or something… I dunno, Reimu's still trying to figure it out while Yukari just thinks it's neat."

"Interesting. Any other monsters that get along with other Youkai?"

"Let's see… I've seen Izuchi and Great Izuchi wander around parts of Gensokyo, I've seen an Aknosom near the main human village where Kogasa hangs out with it… there's a Tetranodon with the Kappa, I've seen a Somnacanth sometimes hang out in the Misty Lake and get along with the fairies and Faunus there… I've seen a Goss Harag butting heads with Yuugi and Suika and then training it to drink sake with them, I dunno how they pulled THAT off. Have ya seen a drunken Goss Harag before?"

"No, can't say I have."

"Good. I'd rather… not go into it." Marisa shuddered at the thought. "Yuugi and Suika thought it was hilarious though. Anyway, I've seen a Rakna-Kadaki chill with Yamame. There's an Almudron somewhere in Gensokyo and… well, let's just say Satori managed to tame a Magnamalo."

"A Magnamalo?!"

"Yeah, apparently it gets along well with Utsuho. I think she's trying to teach it how to do nuclear fusion just to give it an extra boost in power." Marisa grimaced. "That's all we need…"

Ford grimaced. He had plans on visiting Hell just to see what all the fuss was with the Youkai that live down there and Utsuho with her nuclear fusion experiments, but he decided to take a rain check with the mention of the Magnamalo, just in case since he didn't want to be made the Magnamalo's next meal.

So much for that visit… He thought as Marisa landed on the ground where Ford would see the Kappa village.

"Here we are!" Marisa said as Ford looked on in awe as the Kappa were blissfully unaware of the visitors as they were either busily at work or playing with the Tetranadon in one of the lakes.

"Ford?"

The duo turned to see Nitori approaching them in curiosity.

"Hello, young Kawashiro."

"This… is a surprise. What are you doing here?"

"I came here to get a better understanding of Gensokyo. I'm researching the anomalies in a place such as this."

Nitori's eyes sparkled. "So it's a business trip! Oooh, that's so cool! Do you have any research partners?"

Marisa grinned. "Well, I don't mean to brag, but-"

"Patchouli and Koakuma are typically my assistants, but they were busy today. Marisa helped me up the mountain."

"Hey, don't just pin me as the delivery girl!"

"Hey, if you want, I could help you out. I've read your journals and they've all fascinated me!"

Ford chuckled. "You're not the first one to say that regarding that last part." He said. "I wouldn't mind if you helped out."

"Awesome! It will definitely give me something to do while trying to wrack my brain over SAPR."

"How is she coming along?"

"Slow and steady. Eggman's got his blueprints from R3-B7, and adding upgrades to her, but at the same time, it's as if, whatever is left of body is… rejecting the upgrades."

Nitori sighed. "It's been driving us crazy… I've never seen Pietro so flustered over something as weird as this."

"We'll get to the bottom of this." Ford said. "SAPR will live again, even if we have to brute force it."

"Right." The Kappa nodded. "We got this!"

Ford rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Ya know, you kind of remind me of Dipper."

"Oh? I do?"

"Both of you share an insatiable curiosity about everything. During my brief visit with Mr. Pollendina, I noticed that you kept asking Eggman about his various gadgets that, in his words, were superior to yours. Not to mention you were completely enamored by Ms. Sakura's Technomagic and Penny's ability to be one with The Ancient's technology from the Starfall Islands."

"Ahehe…~" Nitori blushed, sheepishly scratching her cheek. "Even if I'm familiar with the Mushroom Kingdom and Remnant's tech, I've still got a lot to learn about it. It's all so fascinating! Of course, even if Eggman invaded, I couldn't help but be fascinated by his inventions. I've even taken a few pieces of scrap metal from his Death Egg so I could fully examine it up close."

Ford laughed. "That sounds about right. You definitely sound like Dipper too."

Nitori giggled. "I know that I'm nothing like your nephew…" She smiled. "...But I'll do my best to be your most loyal assistant and research partner!"

Ford smiled. "Thank you." He said, patting Nitori on the head.

"Oh, by the way, let me show you around in my lab real quick! In fact, let me give ya the grand tour of the area!" Nitori said as she wandered off. "It's weird though, Hina should've shown up by now. We were gonna hang out today."

Marisa stiffened, looking away while Ford gave Marisa a look. "She, uh… got sidetracked. Ran into her and she said she was gathering misfortune on a few unlucky humans that wandered in the forest. Said that she'll come by tomorrow!"

"Oh, okay!" Nitori nodded as she walked off, but the water near Marisa rose up and smacked her on the head.

"Yowch!"

"Saw right through that, didn't you?" Ford tried to hold in a snicker.

"That pause told me everything I needed to know."

"Come oooon, I was just looking out for Ford!" Marisa grumbled.

BGM: Argue For and Against (Touhou 10.5: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody)

Meanwhile…

"Hehehe~" Tewi smirked, rubbing her hands together as she put a bucket of water over the edge of the door, and then hopped off with a smirk as she hid behind a flower pot.

The door cracked opened as Tewi grinned widely… before Enid caught the bucket with her hand before it spilled all over her.

HUH?! Tewi looked on in shock.

"Oh goodness, are you okay?" Kije asked as she was walking with Eirin, Enid and Reisen.

"Hmhmhm~ I've had this prank played on me a few times. I've learned to look up whenever I see a door cracked open."

Enid turned toward the shocked prankster. "Nice try, Ms. Inaba. I've got a son who's a master prankster and even tries to pull one over on me now and then. Trust me, it's impossible to fool a single mom who trained herself to spot a prank even from a mile away."

She let out a wink and walked off with a hum.

"Impossible, huh?" Tewi glared before smirking. "We'll see about that."

"Tewi, I wouldn't…" Reisen began before Tewi took off. "...Do that."

A few hours later, with MNBL and co…

"Hmm… aren't we down a fairy?" Maki wondered.

"Cirno flew off somewhere, no idea where she went." Logue said.

"Could it be related to what happened earlier?" Nick wondered.

Earlier…

"Okay, Cirno, truth or dare?" Magnolia asked.

"Dare!"

"I dare you to pick a fight with the strongest creature around the lake and freeze it all over."

"Oh, you're on! I'll prove to you that I'm not some sort of idiot like you think I am!" Cirno said as she took off flying.

"...Should I go after her?" Daiyousei asked.

"Nah, knowing her, she'll probably find a large frog and come back. She'll be fiiiiine." Magnolia waved it off.

Back in the present…

"She's probably on her way back as we speak." Magnolia said.

At that moment, Sunny Milk flew over to Luna Child, Sapphire Star and a few aquatic Faunus that were conversing. "Hey, did you guys hear? I just heard from a few minutes ago from a random Youkai that some idiot ice fairy went to the quarry cove to take care of that Malzeno that's been running around Gensokyo lately."

Magnolia groaned, burying her face in her hands after overhearing Sunny. "Oh… please tell me that's not our idiot ice fairy…"

At said quarry cove…

The quarry cove, a desolate and rocky area not too far from Misty Lake, was silent except for the faint snores of the Malzeno, the Elder Dragon that had been terrorizing the region. The vampire-esque Monstie lay asleep, its immense body curled up amid the stones. The Quirio, small glowing red winged leeches that often accompanied the Elder Dragon, hovered nearby, either resting or lazily flitting around in the air. Above them, Cirno was peering cautiously over the edge of the ledge, trying to steel herself.

But this wasn't just any ordinary Malzeno—this was a rare and much stronger Variant: the Primordial Malzeno.

"Okay... you can do this, Cirno..." She gulped nervously. "I-it's just one monster... n-no biggie...! Y-you're the strongest fairy of all Gensokyo, surely y-you can freeze it down w-with ease...!" She slightly shook in fear while inching slowly towards the edge, somewhat daring herself to jump down and face the Primordial Malzeno on her own. "One… two…!"

Back with them…

Nick's eyes widened after the others processed what they heard. "Wait, Cirno's gonna slay an Elder Dragon?! Alone?!" The bat eared Fox Faunus then chuckled as a proud, yet mischievous grin spread across his face. "Heh, good for-"

Magnolia cut him off with a sharp glare, her expression fierce enough to make her older twin brother shrink back down instantly.

"Sorry…" He mumbled, averting his gaze sheepishly.

Magnolia sighed, running her hand through her sandy blonde hair. "C'mon, let's get to that quarry cove before that ice-brained moron gets herself killed. I know that the fairies here are immortal, but I'm not gonna sit back and watch her die a slow and painful death."

"You kids go on without me." Maki said with a frown. "As much as I'd love to help… someone needs to watch our stuff. I don't trust the fairies around here wouldn't swipe any of our unattended valuables."

"Okay." Becky nodded and turned to Daiyousei and Rumia. "Can you two take us to the cove?"

"Of course!" Daiyousei nodded as they flew off as MNBL ran after them.

With Cirno…

"Two and three one-thousandths… two and four one-thousandths…" She counted nervously, her gaze fixed on the Elder Dragon below.

"CIRNO!"

"Ack!" She yelped as she turned around toward the group.

"What do you think you're doing?! Get away from there!" Magnolia yelled, half-worried for the ice fairy's safety and half-annoyed over her usual recklessness.

"No way!" Cirno declared defiantly, forgetting about her previous fears and doubts in an instant. She then pointed toward the Primordial Malzeno. "You see that Malzeno down there? I'm gonna be the first ice fairy in Gensokyo to slay that Elder Dragon, and then you guys are gonna have to start showing me some respect!"

Magnolia pinched the bridge of her nose, her patience wearing thin. "You get down there and fight that big monster, the only respect you'll be getting is respect for the dead."

Nick laughed nervously, trying to diffuse the tension. "Hey, hey, c'mon, Maggs. Even I know she's not THAT stupid."

However, Cirno turned around and wiggled her bottom instead of retreating, clearly ready to fly down and engage the sleeping Elder Dragon.

Rumia bit her lip, watching nervously. "But I think you've been wrong before…" She mumbled as Daiyousei, Logue, and Becky cringed and covered their eyes in fear, unable to bear the sight of what was about to happen. Cirno was moments away from making her move when Magnolia, driven by instinct, rushed forward.

"Geronimo—OOH...!" Cirno leaped and would've flown down to her doom had Magnolia not quickly grabbed her just in time by the back of her hair. "OW! HAIR! HAIR! HAIR!" She yelped, her ice wings fluttering wildly.

Magnolia tossed Cirno behind her as she let go of her hair, but accidentally lost her balance in the process and tumbled backwards in the same direction as her ice fairy friend. "YAAAAAAH!" She crashed into Cirno, landing in a tangled heap on the rocky ground.

Surprisingly, the Malzeno didn't wake up from the commotion.

"Owwww…" Cirno groaned.

Becky and Nick rushed over, extending their hands to help them up their feet. "Are you two okay?" Becky asked with concern etched on her face.

Magnolia dusted herself off while readjusting her glasses. "Yeah, I'm fine…"

Cirno got some of the dirt out of her hair. "Same here…" She then glared at Magnolia.

"What?"

"Don't "what" me, you sly vixen! What was that all about?!"

Magnolia looked at her annoyed. "Hey! I was trying to save your life, you ice-brained moron!"

"By yanking me by the hair?! Thanks for the save, but that really hurt, ya dumb Foxfa-"

Nick instinctively covered Cirno's mouth before she could finish as he, Becky and Logue sighed in relief, the latter two having tensed up as they knew exactly where Cirno was gonna go.

"Mmmph?! Mmmph! Mmmph!"

"Huh…?" Magnolia wondered.

"Ahehehe…" Nick chuckled nervously. "Excuse us for a second!" He dragged away a squirming Cirno with the others following.

Magnolia narrowed her eyes in suspicion before shrugging and walking over to the ledge to get a good look at the Primordial Malzeno. "Huh, still asleep even after all that commotion…?" She whispered.

Nick released Cirno from his grip once they were out of earshot. "Phew… okay, we're good." He released Cirno.

"GAH!" Cirno gasped for air.

"Sorry 'bout that, Cirno…"

"It's… it's fine…" Cirno took a few deep breaths to catch her breath. She then gave him a confused look. "Seriously though… what was that all about?"

Nick's expression turned serious. "Cirno, I want you to listen carefully. One: Never… and I mean never… ever say "Foxface" as an insult in front of my sister. And two: We make sure to never let anyone say it either…" He frowned. "...Because reasons."

"Reasons…?" Cirno tilted her head.

Becky shifted uncomfortably, exchanging a look with Nick. "Well…"

"Okay, so, to give you the abridged version… basically Maggie dealt with bullying born out of Faunus racism. At the same time, our folks were starting to split before they got divorced and dad walked out on us. When the bullies found out about that, they upped the bullying until she snapped and beat them up in front of everyone and, well, because of that, she got a few week's worth suspension and was known was the "Demon Fox of Hathaway" ever since."

The fairies and Youkai jawdropped at the revelation.

"WHAT?!" Cirno was the first to blurt it out.

"Oh… my…!" Daiyousei put her hands over her mouth.

Rumia was both shocked and outraged. "That's… totally NOT cool!"

"Believe me… I know." Nick sighed sadly. "She hardly cracked a smile for almost a whole year because of that…" He added before glancing to the side in discomfort. "Not to mention it broke our mom's heart… and mine too."

"Mmm…" Cirno started to feel guilty over her near slip-up earlier. "Oh, my Gods… Nick, I-I'm so sorry… I-I didn't mean to-"

"Hey, there's nothing to apologize for." Nick cut her off gently and gave her a reassuring smile. "You just didn't know more about Maggs until now." He patted her shoulder in comfort. "Besides, I also know that you'd never hurt her the way those bullies did. Don't worry too much about it."

"...Okay!" Cirno smiled in return.

Rumia, however, was fuming as a dark expression loomed over her. "Ya know… if I ever went to Remnant and crossed paths with those brats, I'd gladly devour them to the bone for what they did to your sister." She said before flashing a wicked smirk. "And if you want, I wouldn't mind adding your deadbeat dad to the list too."

"Whoa, whoa, WHOA! Let's not do that!" Logue exclaimed, disturbed by what Rumia just said.

Becky frantically nodded in agreement. "Y-Yeah…! Even if they were horrible, wishing death upon them is a bit too much! Even for US!"

"Okay, okay." Rumia waved it off. But my offer is still on the table… She thought with a chuckle, which was enough to make Daiyousei shudder a bit.

Meanwhile, at the Scarlet Devil Mansion…

"Lady Sakuya!" A fairy maid flew over to her as they were all in the library.

"What is it?" Sakuya asked as the fairy maid whispered in her ear. Her eyes widened upon the news. "M'lady, I think now would be a good time for me to get Ford."

"Hmm?" Remilia wondered as she boredly played with Simon's hair, something that he just tuned out. "Isn't he with the kappa?"

"Yes, but there are human and faunus children near where the Malzeno is located." Sakuya said. "...Also, Cirno is with them."

Remilia sighed. "The last thing we need is that idiot influencing them and taking them to fight that thing. Alright. It can't be helped. Sakuya, head over to Youkai Mountain and get Ford. We'll head over to the quarry."

"Understood." Sakuya nodded and disappeared.

"It is time, I take it." Alucard said, putting his teacup down on a cup holder. "Let us move."

"Right behind you." Patchouli said as they all took off.

Back with Ford…

"I have to say, this place is amazing." Ford said as he scribbled down some notes.

Nitori grinned. "It's definitely a peaceful sanctuary~!" She said.

"Indeed."

At that moment, Sakuya appeared near them. "Ford!"

"Hmm?" Ford turned his head toward her. "Is something wrong, Ms. Izayoi?"

"Mistress Remilia wishes for you to come to the quarry cove near the Misty Lake. There is a Malzeno in there."

"A Malzeno?!" Ford exclaimed.

"We have an Elder Dragon?" Marisa wondered. "I'll go inform Reimu." She hopped on her broom and flew off.

"Take me there." Ford said to Sakuya.

Sakuya nodded. "Nitori, do you want to come too?"

"Of course!" Nitori nodded as Sakuya grabbed their arms and proceeded to "warp away" from the average Kappa's eyes.

Nearby, Aya overheard the conversation. "Ooooh baby, it's happening." She said as she flew off.

At the Quarry Cove…

Remilia approached the cove. "Are you kids alright?"

"Yeah, we saved Cirno from being that thing's lunch." Logue said.

"What's with this "we" stuff? Maggs was the one who pulled her back." Nick said.

"We've been keeping an eye on it." Magnolia said, ignoring what Nick said as Remilia took a look.

"Hmm… interesting… it's just a bump on a log." She mused while rubbing her chin.

"So how do we approach it?" Meiling wondered.

"Well…"

"M'lady." Sakuya appeared. "I retrieved Ford just like you asked. Nitori wanted to tag along."

"Well, doesn't hurt to have a plus one." Remilia said as Ford walked over to get a better look.

"My word… that's not an ordinary Malzeno. That's a Primordial Malzeno!"

"Oooh, I wasn't aware there was a subspecies~" Remilia smiled.

"Hey, isn't that…?" Magnolia wondered, looking at Ford.

"It is! He's the guy who owns the Mystery Zone!" Nick said.

"No, dummy, he's got six fingers. It's his brother."

"Oh… right."

"Hmm…" Ford folded his arms. "You're not seriously going to wake it up, are you?"

"If we are to observe his power, we will have to wake him up. Just being imposing isn't enough. I want to see the majesty of its strength."

"Very well."

"Which is where the Belmonts come in." Remilia said.

"The Belmonts?!" Ford said in surprise as he turned his head to see the Belmonts and Alucard getting ready. "I've heard tales of the legacy of the Belmonts and even Alucard. They're nothing more of legends and-... why is that one tied up in bubble wrap?"

"Long story." Richter said.

RRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPP!

Simon tore the bubble wrap off of him and rolled his shoulders. "Alright. Let's get started." He said as the three of them jumped down.

"Watch and learn, Ford. This is going to be a spectacle." Remilia said.

"Just in case…" Patchouli proceeded to conjure up a barrier to protect everyone.

The Primordial Malzeno opened its eyes from its nap, seeing the trio standing before him. It let out a growl and then let out a massive roar.

"We got a live one~!" Remilia smiled

Patchouli glanced to the side, seeing some Quirio fly over. "We got company." She quickly proceeded to create electrical orbs from all sides to act as bug zappers, which proceeded to shoot out lightning to annihilate them.

"Quirio… I've heard about them. Blood sucking leeches that empower monsters until they suck up all of their energy." Ford said. "As far as anyone knows, the Primordial Malzeno is the only one that fights back."

"Well, they don't seem to like bug zappers very well." Remilia said.

BGM: Bloody Tears/Monster Dance (Super Smash Bros Ultimate)

Legend Resurrected - Primordial Malzeno

Simon pulled back his whip and flicked his wrist, sending the chain whip toward the Primordial Malzeno, but the Elder Dragon pulled back his wings to block them. He then unleashed a draconic energy breath at Simon, but he rolled out of the way as he threw his cross at him, hitting the Primordial in the head.

Richter swung his whip around the Primordial's neck, yanking him back a bit before conjuring up icicles and swinging his arms down as it rained on top of the Primordial.

The Primordial got back up and quickly thrusted his wings like blades but Alucard casually blocked with a sword, and then telekinetically parried it before he threw daggers at the beast's chest, then he started to shapeshift into a werewolf and swiped at it. The Primordial roared and swung his tail at Alucard, but he swiftly shapeshifted into a bat to avoid the attack and then shapeshifted into a Rathalos as he corkscrewed into it.

"Shapeshifting into a Rathalos? My my, someone's seen his fair share of 'em~" Remilia chuckled.

Simon threw a few daggers at the distracted Primordial before swinging his whip at the Malzeno's head. The Primordial growled and attempted to stab at Simon, but he jumped back as the wing was embedded into the ground. Simon saw his chance and quickly jumped at the beast's wing, pulling out his dagger and trying to impale it, but found that his wings were armored and couldn't be penetrated.

He shrugged and climbed up the wing as the Primordial pulled his wing back and tried to shake him off, but Richter threw an axe on his head to get his attention, but Primordial turned his head while also shaking Simon off as he breathed draconic energy toward Richter, but he conjured up a barrier to protect himself as the Primordial knocked Simon off of his wing, but Simon recovered and threw his whip at Alucard, who pulled him up as Simon landed on the vampire-Rathalos.

Primordial's eyes shifted toward Simon as he jumped off, pulled back his axe and was ready to swing down, but Primordial used his wings to block the attack and parried him, knocking him to the ground as Alucard slammed into Primordial, but the Primordial Malzeno pushed him back as Alucard quickly turned back to normal, sliding on the ground a few feet.

With a loud roar, the Primordial swung his head and proceeded to do a sweeping dragon breath attack, but a barrier wrapped around all three of them to prevent them from getting hurt. "Hmm? We were holding our own just fine, Patchouli." Simon said.

"That wasn't me!" Patchouli responded as a red haired mage levitated down before gently landing on the ground.

"You need some help?"

"A child magician?" Alucard mused. "What is your name?"

"Himiko Yumeno, the Ultimate Magician." She responded. "Although, I'm looking to become a Youkai Magician."

The Primordial roared at the newcomer as she turned toward the beast as magical aura wrapped around Himiko.

BGM: Bloody Tears (Castlevania: The Animated Series)

Himiko raised her hand up as the earth underneath her rose up and punched the Primordial's lower jaw. The Primordial snarled and destroyed the rocks with his wings before swinging his wings at Himiko, but she jumped back and conjured up orbs of light around her as she fired lasers into him.

Primordial blocked with his wings and then countered by swinging his tail, but Himiko flew up into the air and raised her staff in the air, proceeding to create a lightning storm and unleashing lightning upon him while it rained icicles on him.

Primordial responded by breathing out draconic energy but Himiko calmly aimed her staff at him and unleashed a red Master Spark, both of them colliding as there was a fiery explosion… but Himiko manipulated the fire to create a fiery tornado and slammed it down on the Elder Dragon.

The Elder Dragon emerged from the flames and proceeded to swing his wings at her, but she flew back and then landed on the ground, waving her hand as icicles conjured and circled around her before she launched them, piercing the Primordial's chest.

"What, are we gonna have the lil' lady have all the fun?" Richter asked his friends as Simon and Alucard got in a stance and joined her as Primordial flapped his wings to push them back before Richter and Simon both flanked him, the latter throwing an axe while Richter threw out some Holy Water at the tip of Primordial's left wing.

Alucard disappeared in a flash, zipping around and stabbing the Primordial from behind before transforming into a Rhino and charged forward, impaling the Primordial while Himiko conjured up metal and morphed them into blades as she telekinetically sent them flying toward the Primordial, who swiftly blocked with his wings right when Simon saw an opportunity and went underneath his wings, pulling out an axe and swinging into his leg.

Primordial snarled and kicked Simon back as Richter swung his whip and smacked Primordial in the jaw before he immediately threw a few fireballs at him as Himiko extended her hand, causing the flaming fireballs to grow bigger and slammed into the Elder Dragon before Himiko conjured up water and manipulated it to transform into a watery longblade before turning it to ice as she slashed down at the Elder Dragon.

Himiko flew up into the air and conjured up electrical energy, summoning red orbs as they fired fiery lasers into Primordial, causing it to roar before Himiko threw down the gigantic electrical ball, striking the Primordial with a powerful electrical explosion.

Himiko landed on the ground as she was rejoined by the Belmonts and Alucard, the latter turning back to normal… and when the dust settled, Primordial had used his wings as a shield as he retracted them and stood majestically in front of them.

"All of that… and it did nothing?" Himiko wondered.

"No, it wasn't for nothing." Alucard said. "This Elder Dragon just has really good defenses."

The Primordial let out a soft growl before bowing his head in respect toward the four.

Nearby, Reimu and Marisa were watching the fight unfold, the former couldn't help but smile at Himiko. "She's come a long way."

"Aw man, she grows up so fast…"

From a tree, Aya looked through the pictures she took. "Beautiful."

Patchouli did away with the barrier as Remilia hopped down and walked toward the Primordial. "Hey big guy." She said as the Primordial Malzeno turned toward her. "How about you come with us? I think you'd find better scenery at the mansion… and be left alone from a certain idiotic fairy."

"HEY!" Cirno yelled from above.

"Incredible." Ford said as he had jotted down notes without even looking down. "...Wait a second, are you suggesting having this Elder Dragon as your pet?"

"Why not? Several Huntsmen and huntresses have some as pets… the Schnees especially. Not to mention Peach has an Espinas in her royal courtyard, so why not do the same?"

"I suppose that makes sense." Ford nodded.

The Elder Dragon let out a soft growl as he crawled out of the quarry, using his wings to pick up the Belmonts as Alucard climbed out himself while Himiko levitated over toward them, landing on the grass as Patchouli gave her a proud pat on the back.

Himiko looked over at Ford. "You must be the-" She spotted his six fingers. "-Mystery Zone's owner's brother. The author of those journals?"

"That would be me, yes."

Himiko smiled. "I found them to be quite the page turners when I'm not busy napping or studying magic."

"If you don't mind… would you be willing to let me study you a little bit?"

"Oh… sure, I don't mind. My magic must've caught your attention."

"Come on, let's discuss this in the mansion." Sakuya suggested as they all walked off, leaving MNBL and co behind, while Aya and Reimu flew back as Marisa decided to tag along with the SDM crew.

"Sooooo, back to swimming at the lake?" Nick asked.

"Yeah, I've had my fill of adventure for one day…" Cirno said as they walked back.

Back at the Scarlet Devil Mansion…

"So, Ford… we got so caught up with explaining the incidents that happened in Gensokyo that I had neglected to ask about your past. Tell me all about it." Remilia said as they were having tea along with some snacks as Himiko didn't even hesitate to dig in.

BGM: Scent of Silence (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories)

"Well, back when I was a kid, I was the brightest student in my family and Stanley… he was the brawn of the duo brothership. Our father was strict and was never impressed with anything. Our mother was a perpetual liar and a psychic, though that last part was up for debate. Fast forward to our highschool years and I had made a perpetual motion machine for a science fair. It had caught the attention of an Ivy League-level university and our principal mentioned to me and my parents that I was a genius and my brother… was a slacker. Stan was upset that we'd be separated and in his anger, he accidentally broke my science fair project."

"Oooof… that's rough." Remilia winced.

"To make matters worse, the big wigs at the university only seemed to care about the machine actually working and not the documentation that led to it working perpetually in motion. Once I found out that Stan broke the machine, I chewed him out… and my parents overheard the conversation and, unfairly disowned him and accusing him of "riding on his older brother's coattails" and "Costing the family potentially millions". While I was angry at Stan, I was also angry at my father for going that far and kicked him out into the streets. I will admit that my father wasn't wrong that Stan was a slacker, but he's no better himself as I knew my old man only saw me as a gold mine for riches and not just his son. I didn't speak up in Stan's defense because I was afraid my old man would disown me as well."

"...Wow! That's… a lot to take in." Marisa said.

"Oh my…" Nitori said while Himiko and the others were left speechless.

"Disowning someone over an accident… truly that's a father of the year right there." Alucard mumbled under his breath.

"That… would explain why your brother has this air of a con man… and where he got his greed from." Remilia said.

"Regardless of where I went to college like West Coast Tech or Backupsmore University, the latter where I graduated from, my father wouldn't get his "millions of riches" as my grant money was under strict government watch and could only be used to fund my research."

"Ha! Serves him right." Remilia chuckled. "So, is there more after that?"

"Ah, yes, of course. I had heard of anomalies happening in Gravity Falls, so I made my way over there and sure enough, there were plenty of oddities that kept me busy, and then I decided to keep some journals-"

Ford paused, looking at Patchouli and Koakuma.

"...What?" Patchouli wondered.

"Sorry, the last time I said journal, my nephew fangirled over it."

"Ah, so you were expecting that? We're much more composed than that." Patchouli said with Koakuma nodding.

Ford chuckled. "Anyway, something kept nagging at me the more I discovered these anomalies. Surely they had to come from somewhere… so I called my friend Fiddleford McGucket and we started to build an interdimensional portal to get to the bottom of these anomalies. Though, I kinda indirectly caused his fall into insanity over the years. Thankfully, I ripped out the blueprints to the interdimensional portal so none of that will ever happen again."

Ford then shuddered. "I also had a meeting with the Bill Cipher and partnered with him as he gave me the means to build the portal. Which was… a horrible idea."

"So, to get away from Bill, what was your brother doing after all this time?" Koakuma wondered.

"Oh, he was trying to make a name for himself by coming up with products with names like Sham Total and bandaids called Rip Off. You can tell how that went with him. He even got banned in thirty two states, including our home state, New Jersey."

"I'm surprised no one killed him…" Sakuya deadpanned.

"I called him up to help me, so after ten years, we finally reunite… but it ended up being a sour reunion as we both get into a heated argument turned fight that ended up with me getting sucked into the Interdimensional Portal and being stuck there for several years… and all because I had invited him just to take said journal, hop on a boat and sail away to hide it where no one can find it."

"Oh my…" Nitori said.

"Years later, I came back due to my brother bringing me back and I greet him by punching him for what he's done. I… deeply regret that. It's also when I discover I had a niece and nephew… and, Stan taking my name."

"Wow… that's… a heck of a backstory." Remilia said with a frown. "You've been through a lot."

"Indeed. And what happened with Fiddleford… I intend not to make the same mistakes with Patchouli, Koakuma and Nitori. That also includes my nephew."

Koakuma smiled. "We appreciate that."

Patchouli nodded. "You've learned so much in the past. That's admirable."

"Yeah!" Nitori nodded.

Ford chuckled. "Thank you." He said and turned to Nitori. "Ya know, maybe I ought to introduce you to Dipper. I think you two would get along."

"Probably~!" Nitori giggled.

"I can see that." Remila chuckled as she suddenly felt something vibrate in her pocket. She pulled out a scroll and saw a text message came from Flandre.

Finally figured out how a selfie works. Kotoko had to help me with that. Check out this cute outfit that this Alessandra girl made for me!

"Whoa…" Remilia looked on in awe. "Flan, you look stylishly modernized… hmm, ya know, I wouldn't mind a little wardrobe update myself."

"Speaking of Flandre… she mentioned something about herself being a "mentally unstable vampire". What's up with that?"

"Oh. Didn't I mention that yesterday? I could've sworn I did… anyway, Flandre… she… was not exactly a stable vampire. She tends to lose control of herself and was a danger to herself and others, so I had her locked up for nearly five centuries due to her destructive powers and mental instability. It took… a really long time for us to figure out how to get a hold of that, admittedly."

Ford's eyes widened. "That explains a lot… and yet, I had no idea that her condition had necessitated extreme isolation with little to no contact for so long…"

"I wouldn't worry too much over it. Those days are in the past now. After that Universal Reset we had, Flan moved her bedroom to one of the unoccupied rooms in the main levels of the mansion. She sometimes returns to the basement whenever she needs a safe space to vent out her frustrations."

"What's the basement used for?"

"Storage room of sorts."

"I see…"

Ford cleared his throat. "There is something even I had neglected to ask you yesterday."

"Oh? And what is it?" Remilia asked.

"I was wondering if you could allow me to research the Scarlet Devil Mansion."

Remilia smiled. "Of course~!"

"Really?" Ford asked in relief.

"Yeah, I was hoping you would ask that yesterday, but I guess we got a little too side tracked with the incidents." Remilia giggled. "So anyway, yeah, I'm open for you researching the mansion."

"Excellent."

"However… there are a few conditions."

"Lay it on me."

Meanwhile…

"Nnngh…!" Tewi paled, realizing she was in deep trouble as Enid grabbed a hold of her, honey dripping from her hair.

Turns out unloading an entire pot filled with honey on top of someone just to try and attract bees was a horrible idea. Not that Enid was allergic to them or anything. Strangely, her calm yet tranquil lividity was enough to actually scare away the bees.

"Come on… i-it was just a prank!" Tewi whimpered. "Come o-waaagh!"

BGM: Minicar (Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1)

She was pulled down across Enid's lap, positioning her like a child about to receive a stern reprimand. Tewi's eyes widened in horror, realizing what was gonna happen. "Wh-what are you doing…?!"

Enid narrowed her eyes, her expression one of cool authority as she raised her free hand. "Teaching you a lesson." She replied simply, and swung her hand down on her backside.

SMACK!

"Oh!" Reisen instinctively winced at the echoes of the sharp smack.

"OW! That hurts…!" Tewi whimpered.

"Enid, I brought some shampoo for that honey in your hai-"

SMACK!

"Oh!" Kije turned around and started to push Eirin away. "Let's not disturb her."

"This is for causing me and Reisen trouble, young lady!" Enid scolded, her voice stern.

SMACK!

"I thought my son's pranks were bad enough… but enough is enough! You need to learn that there are consequences for your actions!"

SMACK!

With Nick…

"My "mom is reprimanding someone" senses are tingling…" Nick said, his fox ears twitching as he hugged himself while shivering like crazy, his eyes as white as dinner plates.

"The heck are you talking about?" Maki wondered. "...And shivering…? It's not cold out here."

"You okay? You're paler than when Youmu comes across a ghost." Cirno said.

"Oh, get over it." Magnolia said. "You're fine."

Back at Eientei…

SMACK!

"Mmmph…" Reisen tried to look away from secondhand embarrassment, but couldn't help but peek through her fingers. She did feel some catharsis since Tewi had it coming, but made a mental note to never get on Enid's bad side. Gods, this is so hard and satisfying to watch at the same time…

"STOP IT! PLEAAAAAAASEEEE!"

SMACK!

Kaguya and Mokou walked across the hallway. "Hey Tewi, is everything oka-..."

Both of them froze in their tracks.

SMACK!

"...You wanna go spar a bit?" Mokou asked.

"Better to be sparring in the forest than be here right now."

Both of them turned around and power walked away from the scene.

"NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…!"

End BGM

A few minutes later…

"Mmmm…" Tewi pouted, rubbing her sore butt and giving Enid a glare, her cheeks stained with tears.

Enid looked at Tewi with her arms folded like a stern and disapproving mother. "Okay, now… say it."

Tewi hesitated, considering her pride was already shamefully shattered in full display. "I-I'm sorry…"

"Sorry, what?" Enid raised an eyebrow. "Be more specific, Ms. Inaba."

Tewi grunted, shifting uncomfortably as she met Enid's stern gaze. "I'm sorry for trying to prank you and Reisen... and I didn't mean for it to most likely get out of hand if I had my way… ma'am."

Enid nodded, her expression softening. "Good. Now, remember this the next time you think about pulling something like that. We may be friends now, Ms. Inaba, but you need to remember that friends respect each other."

Tewi sniffled, nodding and also wiping her eyes with her free hand. "I… I'll remember. I promise."

Reisen approached, still looking a bit stunned by the whole ordeal. "Wow... you really don't hold back, do you? I can see now how you're able to manage yourself as a single mom with two kids, one of them being a prankster."

Enid chuckled, shaking her head. "Well, sometimes... you've got to set boundaries, even with family and friends. Especially with new friends like Ms. Tewi Inaba."

Tewi grumbled under her breath, still rubbing her sore backside. She might have been humbled, but the mischievous spark in her eyes was far from gone.

Though, she did make a mental note to forgo the honey dumping next time.

Later into the night, with Ford…

"You spent so much time researching everyone, yet you didn't bother to put me into your notes?" Yukari asked.

"Ah, I was wondering if I had forgotten someone." Ford said.

"Take as much time as you'd like~" Yukari smiled as she did a pose as Ford made a sketch of her while they both chatted for a few minutes, and then wrote down some notes about her.

"There we go, I think I got everything I needed to know."

"Excellent~! I look forward to reading what you have to say about me… not that I already know~" Yukari giggled and disappeared into a gap.

"Alright, let's begin." Ford smiled.

Gensokyo - Day Five

Entry Date: June 9th

Today was filled with excitement and wonder. First I met Nitori Kawashiro and how I just realized she reminds me a lot like Dipper, then I learned Monsters actually come to visit Gensokyo and are either exterminated or taken in, and then I witnessed greatness with none other than the Belmonts.

Let's take these one at a time, but first… let me discuss more about the Scarlet Devil Mansion, as I had received consent from Remilia.

The Proposal

The Request

I presented my request to Remilia during a follow-up meeting after our initial afternoon tea. I outlined my interest in the mansion's architecture, magical properties, and the spatial anomalies I had observed. I emphasized that my research would be conducted with the utmost respect for her privacy and the safety of the mansion's residents.

Remilia's Response

Remilia listened attentively, her expression thoughtful. She appeared both intrigued and cautious, fully aware of the potential risks of allowing an outsider to document the inner workings of her domain. However, she also recognized the value in having someone with my expertise study the mansion—if only to satisfy her own curiosity about what I might discover.

Personal Notes:

Remilia's willingness to consider my proposal was a positive sign. It suggested that she saw potential value in my research, or at the very least, did not perceive me as a threat.

However, I remained aware that her agreement would likely come with strings attached.

The Conditions

Limitations on Documentation

Remilia granted me access to study the mansion under the condition that she would have final approval over what could be included in my notes. Specifically:

-No detailed floor plans: I am prohibited from documenting or publishing detailed maps or floor plans of the mansion. This restriction is understandable, given the mansion's defensive nature and the need to protect its secrets.

-Omission of sensitive information: Any information related to the mansion's magical defenses, the private quarters of its residents, or other sensitive areas must be either omitted or heavily redacted in my final notes.

-Review of findings: Before finalizing any written reports or documents, I must present them to Remilia for review. She reserves the right to veto any content she deems too revealing or inappropriate for external dissemination.

Areas of Interest Approved for Study

Remilia allowed me to focus my research on specific aspects of the mansion that she deemed less sensitive:

-General Architecture & History: I am free to study the architectural style and historical origins of the mansion, as well as any non-sensitive artifacts or objects within its walls.

-Magical Anomalies: Remilia permitted me to investigate the mansion's spatial anomalies and magical properties, provided I do not delve too deeply into the mechanics of its defenses.

-Common Areas: I am allowed to document the common areas of the mansion, such as the library (with Patchouli's oversight), the dining hall, and the gardens. However, notes on private quarters or restricted areas are strictly off-limits.

Conditions for Interaction

Remilia also imposed conditions on my interactions with the mansion's residents:

-Respect for Privacy: I must respect the privacy of the residents, especially Flandre Scarlet. Any further interaction with Flandre must be approved by Remilia in advance.

-Guided Research: For certain areas of the mansion, Remilia has assigned Sakuya Izayoi or Patchouli Knowledge to accompany me. This ensures that I remain within the agreed-upon boundaries and do not inadvertently uncover something I shouldn't.

Personal Notes:

-The conditions imposed by Remilia are reasonable, given the nature of the mansion and its inhabitants.

-While they limit the scope of my research, they also provide a clear framework within which I can work.

-I respect her need to protect the secrets of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, and I am grateful for the access she has granted.

The conditions set by Remilia Scarlet present both a challenge and an opportunity. While they restrict certain aspects of my research, they also offer a unique chance to study one of the most mysterious locations in Gensokyo. By agreeing to her terms, I have secured access to areas of the mansion that would otherwise remain closed to outsiders.

This arrangement is built on a foundation of mutual respect and cautious trust. Remilia has allowed me into her domain with the understanding that I will honor her conditions and respect the boundaries she has set. In return, I must remain vigilant in my documentation, ensuring that I do not overstep the limits of our agreement.

Personal Notes:

-While I would have preferred unrestricted access, I understand the necessity of the conditions Remilia has imposed.

-The Scarlet Devil Mansion is a place of great power and mystery, and it is only natural that its mistress would wish to protect it.

-I will proceed with my research carefully, always mindful of the delicate balance between curiosity and respect.

Recommendations:

-Proceed with the study of the Scarlet Devil Mansion under the agreed-upon conditions.

-Continue to foster a positive relationship with Remilia and the other residents, as their cooperation is essential to the success of this research.

-Remain aware of the boundaries set by Remilia and ensure that all findings are reviewed before inclusion in any formal documentation.

Yukari Yakumo – The Boundary Manipulator

Yukari Yakumo is one of the most powerful and enigmatic figures in Gensokyo. Often referred to as the "Youkai of Boundaries," she possesses the ability to manipulate boundaries in all forms—physical, conceptual, and even metaphysical. Yukari is both feared and respected, not just for her immense power but also for her inscrutable motives and her tendency to operate from the shadows.

Abilities and Characteristics

Boundary Manipulation

Yukari's primary ability is the manipulation of boundaries, allowing her to alter or redefine the limits of virtually anything. This power extends beyond physical boundaries; she can manipulate abstract concepts, such as the boundary between life and death or the boundary between reality and fantasy. This makes her one of the most versatile and dangerous beings in Gensokyo, capable of affecting the very fabric of reality itself.

Control Over Gensokyo

Yukari is credited with playing a pivotal role in the creation and maintenance of Gensokyo's boundary, the barrier that separates this world from the outside world. Her influence is deeply woven into Gensokyo's structure, giving her an unparalleled understanding of its workings. It is said that she can open gaps—rifts in space that allow her to travel instantly from one location to another, or even between worlds. This ability makes her nearly impossible to track or predict.

Personality and Motives

Yukari is a master of manipulation, often presenting herself as whimsical and capricious, but this is likely a façade that conceals a much deeper and more calculating intellect. She delights in teasing and misleading others, often for her own amusement or to achieve her mysterious goals. Despite her playful demeanor, there is always an undercurrent of danger in her interactions, as she is fully capable of enacting drastic measures to achieve her aims.

Personal Notes:

-Yukari's power is both awe-inspiring and terrifying. Her ability to manipulate boundaries gives her control over aspects of reality that most can barely comprehend.

-While she has shown a willingness to engage in conversation, it is clear that she operates on a level far beyond that of most beings in Gensokyo. Any interaction with her must be approached with extreme caution.

My Interactions with Yukari

I'm going to be honest, I was not expecting her to just pop in just like that when I was in Toad Town. She tends to open up gaps to pop in at a moment's notice. To say that she's somewhat of a spook is an understatement. She seems to have fun with startling individuals. Regardless, she pulled me into her gap dimension, which had frankly reminded me of Bill and his shenanigans, though in a much more friendlier way. I wonder what it would be like if those two interacted… agh, I'd rather NOT think about it.

Anyway, Yukari has made it clear that she is aware of my research and, to some extent, approves of it—though I suspect her approval is conditional and based on factors she has yet to reveal. Our conversations have been brief, often consisting of cryptic remarks and leading questions designed to gauge my understanding of Gensokyo and its boundaries. Despite the lack of direct hostility, I am acutely aware that Yukari is constantly evaluating me, perhaps testing my knowledge or my potential use of her.

Personal Notes:

-Yukari's interactions are as much a game as they are a means of gathering information. She enjoys keeping others off-balance, using her vast knowledge and power to subtly influence the course of events.

-While she has not been openly antagonistic, I remain wary of her true intentions. In Yukari's world, nothing is ever as it seems, and I must be careful not to fall into one of her traps, intentional or otherwise.

Potential Threat

Threat Level

Yukari represents a potential threat of the highest order. Her ability to manipulate boundaries means she can bypass almost any defense, alter the rules of engagement, or simply remove herself from a situation entirely. Her motives are largely inscrutable, making it difficult to predict her actions or gauge her level of interest in any given event. While she has not shown overt hostility, her power and influence make her a figure to be approached with the utmost caution.

Seriously though, what would happen if Yukari and Bill fought it out? …It could be the end of the universe, now that I think about it. Good thing Bill's no longer an issue. I hope.

Research Opportunities

While Yukari's abilities are fascinating from a theoretical standpoint, any attempt to study her directly would be fraught with danger. However, understanding the mechanisms behind her boundary manipulation could provide invaluable insights into the nature of reality, not just within Gensokyo, but in a broader multiversal context. If such knowledge could be obtained, it would represent a significant breakthrough in understanding the underlying structure of reality.

Personal Notes:

Despite the potential for groundbreaking discoveries, I am acutely aware that delving too deeply into Yukari's abilities could have dire consequences. She is not a subject to be studied lightly, and any research involving her must be conducted with extreme discretion.

It may be wiser to observe her from a distance, piecing together what I can from her actions and interactions, rather than risking direct confrontation.

Yukari Yakumo is a being of immense power and complexity, her actions and motives are often inscrutable to those around her. She operates on a level that defies conventional understanding, manipulating the very boundaries of reality to achieve her aims. While she can be charming and even playful, it is clear that she is always in control, and those who underestimate her do so at their peril.

Recommendations:

Maintain a respectful distance in interactions with Yukari. While she has shown a willingness to engage in conversation, it is crucial to remember that she holds all the cards.

Any research into her abilities should be conducted with the utmost caution, and only if there is a clear and compelling reason to do so.

In all dealings with Yukari, assume that she knows more than she reveals and that her true intentions remain hidden behind layers of deception and manipulation.

Personal Notes:

-Yukari is a force of nature within Gensokyo, and perhaps beyond. She is both a potential ally and an existential threat, depending on her whims and how one chooses to engage with her.

-I will continue to tread carefully, always aware that I am dealing with one of the most powerful and unpredictable beings in this world.

Nitori Kawashiro & the Kappa of Gensokyo

The kappa of Gensokyo are a fascinating group of youkai known for their technical prowess and inventive nature. Unlike the traditional depictions of kappa in Japanese folklore, which often emphasize their mischievous and sometimes malevolent behavior, the kappa in Gensokyo are more akin to engineers and tinkerers, deeply immersed in the development of various gadgets and machinery. Among them, Nitori Kawashiro stands out as one of the most skilled and intellectually curious individuals I have encountered. Over time, she has become not only a valuable source of knowledge but also a prime research partner whenever Patchouli Knowledge and Koakuma are otherwise occupied.

The Kappa of Gensokyo

Species Overview

Kappa in Gensokyo are aquatic youkai who possess an innate talent for engineering and technology. They typically reside near rivers and lakes, where they build their workshops and laboratories. Kappa are known for their inventive spirit, creating everything from simple tools to complex machines that blend traditional youkai magic with modern technology.

Technological Prowess

The kappa are incredibly resourceful, often repurposing materials from both the natural world and the human world to create their inventions. Their creations range from water-powered mechanisms to advanced machinery that rivals and sometimes surpasses, human technology. This blending of magic and technology is unique to Gensokyo and offers a glimpse into how the supernatural can coexist with, and even enhance, technological development.

Social Structure

Kappa society is loosely organized, with individuals often working on personal projects or collaborating in small groups. They are generally peaceful, preferring to engage in trade and barter rather than conflict. However, they are also highly secretive, guarding their inventions and knowledge closely to prevent others from exploiting their work.

Nitori Kawashiro – The Inventive Kappa

My first encounter with Nitori Kawashiro in Gensokyo outside work in Dr. Pietro Polendina's lab in the Mushroom Kingdom occurred near the river that borders the Forest of Magic. I had heard rumors of a kappa who was particularly skilled in creating mechanical devices, and my curiosity led me to seek her out. Nitori was initially wary, as kappa are known to be cautious around outsiders, but she quickly warmed up once she realized that my interest was purely academic. She even offered to show me some of her latest inventions, which ranged from water pumps to a small, portable generator powered by magic.

Abilities and Inventions

Nitori's abilities as an engineer are nothing short of extraordinary. She has an innate understanding of both mechanical and magical principles, allowing her to create devices that blend the two seamlessly. Among her most impressive inventions are:

The Water-Powered Arm: A mechanical arm powered by a small reservoir of water, which can be used to enhance physical strength or operate machinery.

The Optical Camouflage Device: A gadget that bends light around the user, rendering them nearly invisible. Nitori demonstrated this by disappearing in front of me, much to my amazement.

The Enhanced River Gun: A weapon that uses compressed water to create powerful blasts, capable of cutting through solid objects. Nitori assured me it was mainly for defense, though I couldn't help but notice the gleam of pride in her eyes as she described its power.

Research Collaboration

Over time, Nitori has become one of my primary research partners, especially when Patchouli and Koakuma are busy with their own studies. Her technical knowledge complements my scientific approach, and we have worked together on several projects, including:

Magic-Tech Integration: Exploring how Gensokyo's unique magical energy can be harnessed to power machinery. Nitori's expertise in this area has been invaluable, as she has already developed several prototypes that use magical energy as a power source.

Kappa Engineering Techniques: Documenting the unique engineering techniques used by kappa, particularly their ability to combine natural materials with advanced technology. Nitori has been surprisingly open about her methods, though she remains protective of certain trade secrets.

Environmental Sustainability: Studying the environmental impact of kappa technology on Gensokyo's ecosystems. Nitori is particularly interested in ensuring that her inventions do not harm the natural world, a concern we both share.

Personal Notes:

Nitori is a remarkable individual—intellectually curious, innovative, and always eager to explore new ideas. Her enthusiasm for invention is infectious, and our collaborations have yielded some of the most exciting discoveries I've made in Gensokyo.

She has also become a trusted friend, someone I can rely on to provide a fresh perspective on complex problems.

The kappa of Gensokyo, and Nitori in particular, represent a fascinating intersection of magic and technology. Their inventive spirit and technic al skill are unmatched, and they offer a unique perspective on how supernatural forces can be harnessed to create practical solutions. My time working with Nitori has deepened my understanding of Gensokyo's magical ecosystem and the potential for innovation within this world.

Her technical expertise and creative approach to problem-solving have complemented my own skills, leading to breakthroughs that I could not have achieved alone. I value her not just as a colleague, but as a friend who shares my passion for discovery.

Personal Notes:

-Nitori's curiosity and ingenuity remind me of my own early days as a researcher back at Gravity Falls, constantly seeking new challenges and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

-I look forward to many more collaborative projects with her, and I am grateful to have found such a capable and enthusiastic research partner in the often mysterious and unpredictable world of Gensokyo.

Recommendations:

-Continue to collaborate closely with Nitori Kawashiro. Her unique blend of magical and technical knowledge is invaluable, and our partnership has the potential to unlock even greater mysteries within Gensokyo.

-Additionally, maintain positive relations with the broader kappa community, as their insights and inventions could prove useful in future research endeavors.

Continued Collaborations with Nitori Kawashiro

My continued collaborations with Nitori Kawashiro have been both productive and unexpectedly personal. As we've spent more time working together on various research projects, I've come to realize that Nitori shares many traits with my nephew, Dipper Pines. This resemblance—both in their intellectual curiosity and in their earnest determination—has deepened my appreciation for Nitori's abilities and character. These interactions have not only advanced my research but also evoked a sense of nostalgia and familial connection that I hadn't anticipated.

Continued Collaboration

Research Projects

Nitori and I have continued to work closely on a variety of projects, ranging from the integration of magic and technology to environmental sustainability in Gensokyo. Her technical expertise and inventive spirit have been invaluable in these endeavors, and our combined efforts have led to several breakthroughs. For instance, we recently developed a prototype device that harnesses Gensokyo's ambient magical energy to power small machines, a project that Nitori approached with her usual enthusiasm and ingenuity.

Shared Curiosity

Nitori's boundless curiosity and eagerness to explore new ideas are qualities that I've come to admire greatly. She approaches each new challenge with the same wide-eyed excitement that I see in Dipper whenever he's on the brink of a new discovery. Whether it's devising a new gadget or unraveling a particularly tricky problem, Nitori throws herself into her work with a passion that is infectious.

Personal Notes:

-Nitori's enthusiasm is both a driving force and a source of inspiration. Her willingness to experiment and take risks, combined with her deep knowledge of both magical and mechanical principles, makes her an ideal research partner.

-She reminds me so much of Dipper—always eager to learn, always ready to dive headfirst into the unknown. It's a quality that I find both endearing and motivating.

Nitori and Dipper – Parallels

Intellectual Curiosity

Both Nitori and Dipper share an insatiable curiosity about the world around them. They are constantly asking questions, seeking out new information, and pushing the boundaries of what they know. This drive to understand the unknown is a trait that has fueled many of our most successful projects. In Nitori, I see the same relentless pursuit of knowledge that has always been a hallmark of Dipper's character.

Determination and Resilience

Another striking similarity between Nitori and Dipper is their determination. Neither is easily discouraged by setbacks or failures. Instead, they see challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Nitori's resilience, in particular, reminds me of Dipper's ability to bounce back from difficult situations, always ready to try again with renewed vigor. This shared trait has made our collaboration not only fruitful but also enjoyable, as both of them approach each problem with the same tenacity.

Personal Notes:

-The more time I spend with Nitori, the more I'm reminded of the qualities that make Dipper such an exceptional young man.

-Nitori's determination and resilience mirror Dipper's in so many ways, from her willingness to tackle difficult problems to her ability to find creative solutions.

-It's almost like working alongside Dipper again, and that feeling brings warmth and familiarity to our partnership that I hadn't expected.

Reflections and Emotions

Nostalgia and Connection

Working with Nitori has stirred a deep sense of nostalgia in me, bringing back memories of the time I spent with Dipper during our summer in Gravity Falls. The parallels between Nitori and Dipper have created a unique bond in our working relationship—one that goes beyond mere collaboration. I find myself looking forward to our sessions not just for the progress we make, but for the reminders of my nephew's spirit and the adventures we shared.

Mentorship and Guidance

In many ways, I've found myself slipping into a mentor role with Nitori, much like I did with Dipper. She's highly capable and knowledgeable, but there are moments when she seeks guidance or reassurance, particularly when faced with a challenging problem. These moments have allowed me to share my own experiences and knowledge, helping her to grow as both an inventor and a researcher. This dynamic has strengthened our partnership and made our work together all the more rewarding.

Personal Notes:

-The connection I feel with Nitori is more than just professional. She reminds me so much of Dipper that it's impossible not to feel a sense of protectiveness and pride in her accomplishments.

-It's a strange but wonderful feeling—mentoring someone who feels like a reflection of my own family. I can't help but feel that this bond has made our work more meaningful, and it has certainly made my time in Gensokyo even more special.

Nitori's similarities to Dipper have made our collaboration one of the most personally rewarding aspects of my time in Gensokyo. Her curiosity, determination, and resilience are qualities that I deeply admire, and they remind me of the bond I share with my nephew. This connection has added a layer of emotional depth to our work, making each discovery feel not just like a professional achievement, but like a shared victory with someone who embodies the same spirit of exploration that Dipper does.

Recommendations:

-Continue to nurture the collaboration with Nitori, not just for the sake of research, but for the personal connection it fosters.

Nitori has become more than just a research partner—she's someone I've come to care about deeply, much like I care about Dipper. The parallels between them have made our time together feel like a continuation of the bond I share with my nephew, and for that, I am profoundly grateful.

I will continue to support Nitori in her endeavors, knowing that in doing so, I am also honoring the spirit of exploration and discovery that Dipper and I share.

Monsters in Gensokyo

It had come to my attention that monsters are prowling through Gensokyo. I've heard that they are all over the place now. It was once the Mushroom Kingdom and Remnant, but now they've spread all over. Hyrule, the Pokemon World, Popstar, Mobius, etc. It would seem as if Gensokyo is no different.

There are many creatures that make it home here, while others are exterminated by either Reimu or Marisa. It would definitely help that they get rid of them as quickly as possible before they make a meal out of some unsuspecting sap, like me.

There are some who live a carefree life and cohabitate with some Youkai. It would seem the Faunus are not too bothered by this either. I will say that Remilia having a Primordial Malzeno as a pet is… genuinely terrifying at best. Sure, the Elder Dragon is a peaceful creature but will get hostile if you run into it's territory.

Marisa might have a harder time breaking into the mansion, though. Heh. Would be a sight to see.

Himiko Yumeno, the Ultimate Magician

Species: Human (So far…)

During my time in Toad Town, I've come to learn about a group of individuals known as the Future Foundation, a group where they protect those from harm against evil beings or other criminal activity. Yet, they seem pretty lax whenever Bowser invades Toad Town and kidnaps Princess Toadstool. What's up with that?

Anyway, this group calls themselves the "Ultimates", where in their world, "Ultimate" means they are the best of the best in their ability. Things like, Ultimate Football Player, Ultimate Ultimate Frisbee Player (That's a bit of a mouthful there…), Ultimate Farmer, Ultimate Gamer, Ultimate Princess, etc… though I do question the idea of being an "Ultimate Princess". Kinda breaks all sense of logic with that one.

Anyway, as it turns out, there are some Remnant-born individuals who are also called Ultimate. Himiko Yumeno is one of them.

From my conversation with her after Remilia set the ground rules, she wanted to be a magician but didn't know how to go about it. That was when Marisa caught wind of her and decided to take her under her wing.

However, since Marisa is a hoarder, Himiko opted to bunk in the Hakurei Shrine, though sometimes she bunks in the Scarlet Devil Mansion or even Alice Margatroid's house, Marisa's neighbor.

Throughout her training, she gained a personal look into the studies of magic and grew fond of it, gaining a personal attachment to Patchouli specifically.

To my surprise, she said she wants to be more than a magician. She wants to be a Youkai Magician. She knows that she will lose her humanity if she does so, but she doesn't care as she wants to learn everything about magic and has an appetite for more.

Apparently, this was what happened with Alice Margatroid. She was once human but turned into a Youkai later on. It's truly fascinating. I wish her the best of luck.

There's just one weakness of her. Poor girl's got a case of narcolepsy. However, this doesn't seem to slow her down at her. Has she discovered a magical spell that keeps her sleepiness at bay? Considering how well she fought off that Primordial Malzeno, she may have either found a spell… or she had just woken up from a nap and felt very refreshed. I'm betting the latter.

If it's the latter, consider myself jealous. It takes me a while to be fully alert when I wake up and here's this teenager raring to go after a narcoleptic episode. Lucky…

The Belmonts

I will keep this brief as I don't think they would fit into this topic, but perhaps I will share this at a later time.

Simon and Ricther Belmont, two individuals who are part of the Belmont line who have slain Dracula in the past as their sole purpose. From what I gathered, the church excommunicated their family for some unknown reason. Reasons pertaining to the feud between them and Dracula perhaps? Meh… I'll never understand Catholicism.

What is really interesting is that Richter is Simon's descendant, yet these two are together and interact like they're brothers. Time shenanigans by the sounds of it… I'd rather not get into that.

Alucard

Then there's Alucard. He holds incredible power, is rather fast, and can shapeshift into anything he can think of.

There is a bit of anomaly with his name, as I had just now realized while writing this. Apparently his name spelled backwards is Dracula! What could this entail, I wonder?

I'll ask him the next time I see him.

Conclusion:

There are many more areas to discover about Gensokyo, but for now, this is where I leave off for now. Perhaps another entry regarding Gensokyo will happen.

But for now, I go on to my next adventure. There are many worlds and anomalies just waiting to be researched. I've heard the Princess of Hyrule is a researcher herself…"

(You may resume reading here if you skipped.)

Ford put his journal down and looked up at the stars.

"You definitely know how to keep the peace here, Reimu."

Reimu chuckled. "I do what I can."

"Indeed."

And thus concludes DarkRebellion's three part (That I know of) Gensokyo Saga with Ford!

Ibuki: Good luck to Himiko-chan!

Deadpool: Yeah!
