Day One

Remus let out a shiver involuntarily. He was trapped here with four other guys, and they were all looking at him like he was their prey for the next meal they would be devouring.

"In here," a gruff voice demanded, shoving a sixth hoodlum into their cell, then locked it again, clanging the bars loudly behind him. The newest member sat up from where he had fallen, slowly brushing himself off, a mildly disgruntled look on his face. It may have been just the thing to save him...at least, for now. He watched as all four of the eyes that had been trained on him slowly turned to face the newest guy, eventually letting his own eyes do the same.

"Hey," he said, dark gray gaze catching on Remus' own and staying there. A dark black eyebrow quirked in what appeared to be amusement when Remus failed to respond. Coughing a little, he snapped himself out of his daze, and managed a small smile back.

"Uh...hi."

"Hmm...shy, cool."

"How did you get in?" One of the gruff guys who'd been staring him down earlier barked out.

"A little too much..." he started flicking his eyes from Remus, to the guy, back to Remus again, "...soliciting." And that started him up coughing again, face turning red. Why was he being stared at like that?

"What so girls paid you to have sex?" One of the other men cut in, "Cool."

"Girls, guys, what have you."

"You had sex with guys?Faggot." The first man who'd spoken spit out.

"What, so you're telling me if I hadn't been shoved in here when I had, you wouldn't have made him your bitch?" he responded back evenly, long hair falling into his eyes when he nodded towards him. Remus stepped back cautiously, aware that all eyes were on him again, and even more aware that he was, without a doubt, the smallest one in the room.

"That's different. We're stuck in here for who fucking knows how long. And we men have needs that are best taken care of with a petite form and a tight little asshole." Remus stepped back again, the backs of his legs coming to a halt when they hit his bed.

"Now, now, men, no need for that. I'm sure we'll all be out soon."

"Soon? Each of us is here for no less than five fucking years, and you is gonna try and tell me I can't be fucking who ever it is I want, because I'll be out soon?"

"Er...right.

"Well, fuck that. Men?" The most brutal looking of them all shot the other four a look. Remus stepped back a half-step again, all too aware of the attention he was gaining again.

"Leave him alone." The guy who'd previously stood up for Remus was doing it again.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?" one of the men blustered, stepping up to toe at the guy who had been standing up for him. The guys grey eyes turned even darker.

"Me? Why, I'm Black. Sirius Black." Remus had absolutely no recollection of who that was, but it was obvious that three out of the four men here did, for their coloring paled quite drastically, and the three of them scurried to the other side of the cell block, pulling the confused fourth member with them. He watched in curiosity while the three of them heatedly filled the fourth guy in on what he - and Remus, apparently - had missed.

"What was that about?" Remus questioned this Sirius bloke a few minutes later, when he could finally tell that the men weren't coming back to bother them.

"Hmm?" Sirius looked up from whatever it was he appeared to be doing - was that a cellphone? - apparently having paid the men no mind once they'd left, "Oh, nothing. So," his grey eyes suddenly sparkled with humour, "You now know my name, but somehow, I don't seem to remember yours?"

Remus startled quite hard, not having expected him to continue to be friendly. After all this was jail, and he may have only been here for a few hours yet, but none of the people he had met thus far have been very...nice. Realizing that he had yet to answer this obviously powerful man, who was still just staring at him, his eyes widened a fraction. "M-my names Re-remus."

"Hmm...Remus..." And wow, Remus had never had a literal chill go up his spine before just because of the way that someone had pronounced his name, but yeah, he could feel that chill now. "What yeh in for, then, Rem?"

Remus found himself blushing a deep scarlet color, not really wanting to answer. How did you tell a stranger that he was in because he was caught stealing the medicine he needed for his mother? "Just something small," he mumbled in lieu, ducking his chin into his orange jumpsuit.

"Oh yeah? Well, I'm here 'cuz my dear father thought I needed to learn a lesson or something. Which I think is utter bollocks, of course, but he was pretty mad. Least I'm only in for a couple of days." At that, Remus perked up.

"Oh! Me too! Since it was my first time getting in trouble and all, the judge let me off with a warning and the smallest sentence she was allowed. Just a week."

"I have a feeling this place will be quite alright with you here, Rem."

Remus went to sleep that night, maybe not feeling exactly happy about being there, but definitely feeling content about where he was at that point.
