Thankfully, the drama of Mr. Pierce's sudden arrival and departure quickly dissipates with minimal casualties. The rest of Brittany's family takes the news well. Ultimately, they are glad he is finally done screwing up their lives and hopefully on his way to a successful rehabilitation.

Now that they are out and proud to everyone, and Puck and their parents are off their backs, Santana and Brittany's relationship grows stronger than ever. When the day of the Homecoming dance finally rolls around, they are the happiest they have ever been.

"Oooh, don't you both look absolutely perfect!" Mrs. Fabray gushes when Santana and Quinn descend the stairs. She is absolutely right; with Santana in a red dress, raven hair falling down in perfect curls, and Quinn in a Tiffany blue gown, hair in a complex updo that complements her face, they are the epitome of beauty.

"I sure hope so, because Santana almost stabbed my eye out with the eyeliner," Quinn says, glaring.

Santana scoffs. "Please, I barely grazed you. By the way, your makeup looks amazing. A 'thank you' would be nice. Especially since you almost burned my ear off with the curler."

"I didn't even touch skin! You're just whining. You think you would look this good without my help? You're the one who should be thanking me!"

They both scowl at each other before letting out frustrated huffs, crossing their arms, and facing away from each other defiantly. Mrs. Fabray quickly snaps a picture of them like that.

"Mom!"

"Judy!"

"Oh, I'm sorry, but you girls are just so cute, trying to compliment each other. Why can't you say it like normal people?"

As if they've been caught, Quinn and Santana look at each other with obviously flushed faces. Before either of them can stutter out a response, the doorbell rings.

"Thank God," Santana mumbles under her breath.

Judy quickly opens the door to let Sam, Brittany, and their mothers in, as well as Tommy, who rushes inside.

"Wow," Sam and Brittany say simultaneously as they see their dates for the first time.

"Wow! You look like princesses!" Tommy says in awe. "Santana, you're so pretty. You too, Big Q. Am I going to find you naked in Britty's bed too?"

Everyone in the room freezes, and several jaws drop.

"Umm. Quinn and I aren't like that, T," Brittany tries to explain.

"Yeah, little T. I'm dating Sam."

Suddenly, realization dawns on Tommy. "Oh! So you're going to be naked in Sam's bed then?"

"Alright, that's enough of that!" Mrs. Fabray quickly interjects. "Tommy, you know where the cookies and milk are. Why don't you help yourself?"

"Yay, cookies!" he shouts and rushes off, not realizing the tense situation he created.

"So, umm, your brother's pretty cute," Sam says awkwardly. The three girls giggle before walking over to their respective partners.

"You look gorgeous, Britt," Santana compliments. The blonde's dress is light green with lace highlights and red accents to match Santana's.

"You're perfect," is all Brittany says. She's still completely in awe.

"Picture time!" Mrs. Fabray announces.

"We have to record these moments for future use!" Mrs. Evans jumps in.

"Yeah, like for teasing and blackmail!" Mrs. Pierce adds.

"Mom!" the three blonde teens yell.

Santana can't help but chuckle. If she's being honest, she is a little sad that her own mother isn't here, accepting Brittany as her date and mooning over how nice they all look. However, not wanting to wish for impossible things, she tries to let the thought go. Besides, these three moms are plenty accepting and nice, not to mention a damn handful.

After countless pictures, they finally make it out the door.

"Drive safe!"

"Have fun!"

"Use protection!"

They don't even bother protesting that time; they just try to get into the car as quickly as possible. Being the gentleman that he is, Sam drives, Quinn obviously taking the passenger seat, and Brittany and Santana shuffle into the backseat, clutches in hand.

"Glad that's finally over," Quinn breathes.

"Now the real fun can begin!" Brittany exclaims. "By the way, Mr. Evans, you look quite dashing tonight."

"Why, thank you, Ms. Pierce. You look equally as ravishing, as do you, Ms. Lopez."

"Thanks, Sam," Santana chuckles. "And Q, you look pretty. Maybe Tommy will be right, and you'll get lucky, Sammy." She winks.

Quinn doesn't even hear the second part. She's too stunned, not expecting Santana to cave first in their unsaid game. "You too, San," she says, caught off-guard. "Look pretty, I mean."

"Cat got your tongue? I know, I'm so hot you're speechless."

"Ugh, screw you, Santana. Here I am, trying to compliment you."

While the two of them toss jabs and insults back and forth, Sam and Brittany just listen and laugh silently at their girlfriends.

"Truce?" Quinn asks when they finally get to McKinley.

Santana rolls her eyes but grabs Brittany's hand with a playful glint in her eyes. "Yeah yeah, truce. Now come on! I wants to get my dance on!" she yells, dragging Brittany inside.

It is arguably William McKinley High School's most anticipated Homecoming of all time. For the first time since the founding of the school, the football team won their game the night before, 27-21. With Puck throwing the winning touchdown, he feels like King of the world, despite losing Santana to Brittany.

A few minutes into the dance, there is a mandatory Glee Club meeting in the hallway for any last-minute set list questions.

"You two are looking exceptionally fuckable tonight," Puck leers when he sees Brittany and Santana.

"Puckerman—" Brittany starts.

"Chill, it's a compliment. You look great. Especially together."

Once again, they are stunned into silence for a second. Then, Santana settles on a "thanks Puck."

"So who are you with tonight?" Brittany asks.

"Right now, no one, but I'm planning to change that tonight with one lucky girl," he says mysteriously before winking at them and walking away to talk to Finn.

"What was that all about?" Santana arches an eyebrow.

"I don't know, but I hope he's not planning to try anything on you again."

"No, he was definitely talking about someone else. I could tell."

"Huh, weird."

At that moment, Rachel walks up to them. "Hello, you ladies look lovely tonight." She seems somewhat downcast, although she looks great in her purple dress.

"Thanks Berry. So do you," Santana replies, surprising herself with all the compliments she's giving tonight. What can she say? She's happier than she's ever been.

"I wish a boy would think that," Rachel mumbles.

"Wait, you're not with Finn?" Brittany asks.

"No, he decided he wanted to go with pretty, blonde Kitty," she says bitterly.

"Aww, I'm sorry. That's his loss," Brittany tries to console the diva, feeling genuinely sorry for her. It's weird seeing her like this, totally opposite from her usually optimistic self. "Maybe your luck will turn around tonight."

"Yeah. Maybe."

"Alright, everyone! It's time to get this Homecoming dance started! Just remember to go backstage in the middle of the performance before yours, and everything should run smoothly. Remember, Rachel, you're singing during the King and Queen's dance!" Mr. Schuester announces excitedly.

"Yeah, because God knows I won't be queen," Rachel mutters under her breath.

Only Tina and Mercedes, who are right next to her, catch that comment. Upon hearing her, they exchange a knowing smile.

Everything is going well and according to plan. Brittany and Santana are laughing as Brittany leads the brunette through some crazy ballroom dance moves to none other than the boys' rendition of What Makes You Beautiful.

"Alright babe, I've gotta go sing," Brittany says regretfully.

"Can't you just let Sam solo?" Santana pouts.

"Although I'm sure he would do great by himself, I want to sing you a love song."

"Ugh, fine," Santana scowls, but really, she is giddy that Brittany is about to sing to her.

"May I have this dance?" Quinn says playfully, appearing out of nowhere.

Santana rolls her eyes but grabs her hand. "Fine, but you're the guy."

The opening chords of More Than Words ring through the air as Brittany and Sam sing into their mics.

"I've never slow danced with a girl before," Quinn remarks. Santana pulls back and gives her a questioning look. "It's pretty weird, especially with you."

After singing the first chorus, the blond duo onstage suddenly remove their mics from the stands and jump off the stage, making Quinn squeal and Santana say, "Oh no no no!" As Sam and Brittany approach their girls, they pry them away from each other (with little effort) so they can dance with their respective women, all while continuing to sing. Brittany serenades Santana while looking at her lovingly.

Without warning, Sam and Brittany twirl them outwards to switch partners, making them giggle even more. Brittany starts to grind on Quinn (which is hilariously slow, considering the song), while Sam keeps it clean. Santana raises her eyebrows teasingly. After another chorus, they switch partners again, so they can finish out the dance with their dates.

The crowd roars with applause at their performance and the cute display.

"I love you more than words could ever describe, Santana," Brittany says in adoration.

Santana leans forward to kiss her. "That was amazing, Britt. I love you too."

"Attention, everyone. Attention." Onstage, Principal Figgins waits for the room to quiet down before continuing. "It is the moment you have all been waiting for, the coronation of your Homecoming King and Queen. Good luck to all the nominees. First up, your King is..." He slowly opens the envelope to reveal, "with an overwhelming number of votes, Noah Puckerman!"

Cheers erupt as Puck screams "Hell yeah!" before scrambling onstage to be crowned.

"Congratulations, Mr. Puckerman. Now, settle down, everyone. Ahem, your Homecoming Queen is...again, in a landslide victory, Santana Lopez!" Once again, more cheering.

"You won, babe!" Brittany exclaims, pushing her towards the stage.

Santana relishes the applause as she stands onstage, facing everyone as she gets crowned.

Proud of her girlfriend, Brittany beams at her and cheers louder than anyone in the room. While the blonde isn't crazy about the fact that Santana will have to slow dance with Puck, she understands. Plus, everyone in this room knows who Santana really belongs to.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this year's Homecoming King and Queen. Now, for the musical talents of Ms. Rachel Berry as the couple shares their royal dance—"

"Wait!" Puck suddenly shouts. "Can I say something, Figgins?"

Unsure of what Puck has planned, the Indian man looks at him warily. "Okay, Mr. Puckerman, but keep it short. Remember, we are still on school grounds."

After nodding to Principal Figgins and grabbing the microphone from him, Puck starts, "So, as you all know, Santana and I dated, but now she's in love with Brittany, which is totally cool." He salutes to Brittany in the crowd, while Santana watches him suspiciously, wondering where the hell he's going with this. "Anyways, now that Brittany and I are bros, it wouldn't be cool for me to dance with her girlfriend, so Brittany, come on up here and dance with her!"

Brittany, along with everyone else in the room, gives him a confused look, but she slowly makes her way up the stage to Santana. "What is he up to?" the blonde whispers in her ear.

"I have no fucking clue."

"As for who I'm dancing with, and why I'm doing this whole extravagant spiel," Puck continues. "It's because, well, I'm a stud. Plain and simple. I need a woman, and I have my eye on someone special. She's a queen to me, so..."

Almost every girl in the room holds her breath, hoping he's talking about her.

Suddenly, he turns around. "What do you say, Rach? Can I have this dance?"

Every eye goes to the short, slack-jawed brunette, who is standing onstage behind the other microphone, ready to sing. She doesn't move a muscle and flinches when someone taps her on the shoulder. "We'll take it from here, Rachel," Tina says, grinning. In on Puck's plan from the start, she and Mercedes are ready to sing.

"I...alright then," Rachel stutters, at a loss for words.

Bowing his head ever so slightly, Puck extends his hand, and Rachel takes it cautiously.

As Tina and Mercedes begin to sing The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, the two couples start to slow dance.

"Wow. I still kind of hate him, but I've got to say, Puck's got some balls," Brittany comments. Her gaze flits over to Rachel and Puck, who are actually pretty cute together, before she looks back at Santana.

"I know! Who would've guessed he has a thing for Berry?"

"I told you, San. She's sort of sneaky hot."

"Yeah, not exactly something your girlfriend wants to hear, babe."

"Come on, you know you're the only woman for me. You're my one and only queen, Your Highness." Brittany grins cheesily at her.

"You know, you haven't called me that in a while. Or Princess, or Queen Bee. I kind of miss it," Santana confesses lowly.

Brittany tightens her grip on the brunette's waist and pulls her closer. "That's because I used to say it mockingly, to rile you up. Even back then, I wanted your attention on me, so when I got your attention, I didn't need to call you those things anymore," the blue-eyed girl explains. "But make no mistake, you're still my queen, and I promise to do your bidding as your lowly servant," she finishes, only half-kidding.

"That was possibly the sweetest and cheesiest thing I've ever heard," Santana chuckles, "and just one of the many reasons why I love you." She tilts her head up and kisses Brittany sweetly. "Sometimes, it blows my mind how far we've come, Britt. You know, the reason I was always so bitchy was because I was protecting myself from getting hurt. I figured, if I scared and controlled everyone enough, no one would be able to scare and control me. 'Offense is the best defense': that was the rule I lived by. But you make it okay for me to let my guard down. You scare me and control me in ways I can't even describe—good ways. I'm just so happy when I'm with you." Santana pauses to take a deep breath. "Ugh, I'm rambling, aren't I? Now I'm the one who sounds cheesy."

"Hey. You're adorable, and that was the sweetest thing I've ever heard. I love you, babe."

"Love you too."

For a while, they just stand and sway in each other's arms, smiling like dopes. When the song ends, they don't even notice until the sound of clapping breaks them out of their trance.

"It's our turn to sing, San," Quinn reminds her, walking onstage and gently pushing Brittany's shoulder. Reluctantly, Santana and Brittany let go of each other. "Ugh, I still can't get over how cute you two are," Quinn says, fake-gagging.

"Actually, me neither. I don't know, Quinn. I know I'm young, but I think she might be the one," Santana confesses.

"Wow, I can't wait for the wedding. It'll be absolutely magical," she teases, hoping to get her best friend all flustered. However, the response she gets is not at all what she expects.

"Yeah, it will be, especially because you're going to be the best maid of honor and help me through all my crazy bridezilla shit," Santana replies nonchalantly.

Quinn's eyes widen comically. "Wait, what? You want me to be your maid of honor? You've thought about this?"

"Duh! Who the fuck else would it be?" Suddenly, Santana's face and tone turn serious. "Q, you're like a sister to me. You've done so much for me. I know I don't say it much, but I love you, and I'm so grateful to have you in my life."

"Santana, I..."

"You don't have to say anything." The brunette smiles widely, and just like that, her serious face disappears, and her playful face is back. "Now get your ass into gear. We've got a song to sing!"

Once the instrumental introduction to Take My Breath Away begins to play, the two girls onstage serenade their significant others, who are dancing with each other on the floor.

"Look at how beautiful our girlfriends are," Sam says with a happy sigh, staring at Quinn.

"I know. Who would've guessed that when we slept together, we'd be happily in love with two of the most amazing girls a year later? Not me, I can tell you that," Brittany replies.

"I still haven't told her. That I love her, I mean. I do, but...I haven't found the right time."

"Right time, my ass. Come on, Sam. Grow a pair and tell her! It's not that scary."

"Hey, Quinn told me Santana said 'I love you' first."

Surprised at being called out, Brittany falters for a second. "She may have."

"See?! If Quinn said it first, I'd have no trouble saying it back."

"Well, all I'm saying is, don't wait too long." Brittany stares adoringly at her girlfriend. "It feels great, being in love."

"You really do love her, don't you?" It isn't so much a question as a statement.

Brittany keeps her gaze fixated on the brunette girl onstage and winks at her before turning back to Sam. "I really, really do. I want things I've never even thought of before. I want to move in with her and marry her and have kids. Not for a little while, of course, but eventually." When she looks up again, her eyes lock onto Santana's. "I want everything with her."

Brown gazes into blue as Santana sings the last few lines to her girlfriend.

My love, take my breath away
My love, take my breath away

After more applause, Santana is glad to have Brittany back in her arms.

"Alright, everyone," Mr. Schuester announces. "Grab your dates for the final slow dance of the evening!"

The lights dim one last time as every couple does so. Puck and Rachel seem happy, as do Quinn and Sam.

As Brittany wraps her arms around the Latina's waist, Santana throws her arms around her neck. "So what were you and Quinn talking about?"

"Oh, nothing," Santana says too innocently before changing the subject. "What were you and Sam talking about?"

"Oh, nothing," Brittany replies mockingly.

Remembering their conversations, both girls blush slightly.

"I love you," Santana says, just because she can, before burying her head into the crook of Brittany's neck.

"I love you too." Brittany squeezes her tighter. "I'm so glad we got our happy ending."

"Me too. I couldn't dream of anyone better to share it with. But..."

"But?"

"I think we're just beginning."
