Chapter 16: Arrangement:
Aiko's POV:
"I can't believe you did this," I said.
"We kept trying to say no," says Dad.
"Unfortunately, we're facing too many problems," says Mom.
"Well, is there a way out of this," I asked.
"We've actually been trying," says Dad.
"Okay, so who is it," I asked.
"Some boy named Taisei Ato," says Mom.
"That's the creep that dumped my best friend and kept bugging me," I said.
"Oh, maybe that could help," says Dad, "all we have to do is point out he's stalking you!"
"I hope so," I said.
...
We then talked with Taisei's parents. "You see, our daughter can't marry your son," says Dad.
"Turns out, your son has been stalking her," says Mom.
"I see," says Taisei's Dad, "you don't think he's good enough for her!"
"So, you make up such a ridiculous story," says Taisei's Mom, "life isn't an internet video, you know!"
"Hold on..."
"We should sue you," says Taisei's Dad.
"He just went through a difficult break up," says Taisei's Mom.
"He dumped my best friend and denied their relationship just to obsess over me," I said.
...
It didn't work. "I'm really sorry, Aiko," says Dad.
"I wish there was something we can do," says Mom.
"It's okay," I said, "I'll find something!"
...
There's no way I'm gonna marry that jerk! "Hey," says Alan showing up. The moment I saw him, everything around me froze. "I think I know what your problem is, Aiko... you think the dinosaurs are going to want revenge!"
"N-no," I said, "i-it's something else!"
"Maybe we can talk," says Alan.
"It's nothing you can help with," I said. I then walked away.
