Author's Note: Here we are with a story that has been on my mind for many years. For a long time, people have asked me for a Loud House fanfic, and it was hard for me to find a show to cross it over with, but I found a solution that may just be creative enough to pull off: the animated Scooby-Doo movies. I figured that each of the Scooby Doo movies would be a great way for certain members of the Loud family to have their time in the spotlight, like Lucy in Witch's Ghost, Luna in Legend of the Vampire, Lisa in Cyber Chase, and more.
I thought of this idea years ago, but I've never really gotten around to finishing it for multiple reasons. The main reason though was how to proceed with the story. I didn't know whether I should have the Scooby gang work with the Loud family on their mysteries or if the Loud family would substitute for the Scooby gang. The reason for that is it would be quite a lot of characters, but I'm sure I can pull it off. I would like to know what you all think though. I mean, I'm sure I can have all the Louds and the Mystery Inc. members in it, but I just want to be sure. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it, and the next chapter will show the final result.
Enjoy this first installation of my Loud House fanfics. Any and all comments are welcome.
It was a dark and windy night in Royal Woods. The suburban neighborhood was covered in the evening darkness. The cool, Autumn winds brushed through the houses sending a cold chill everywhere it flew.
Within one neighborhood, a lone man walked out of his car and into his home with two arms full of groceries. His name was Lynn Loud Sr. He was in a good mood as he entered the house to find his wife, Rita, waiting for him.
"Welcome home, dear." Rita said giving her husband a kiss.
"Glad to be home, dear." Lynn Sr. said. "And I've got big news to share with the family."
"Big news?" asked a boy from the middle of the stairs. It was a pre-teen boy with an orange shirt and white hair. "What kind of big news?"
"The kind that has to be shared with the whole family, Lincoln." Lynn Sr. said. "Why don't you get your sisters while I set up the table for dinner?"
"Can do." Lincoln said before heading on up the stairs. He made his turn when he reached the top and headed to the furthest room. "Okay, let's do a head count…"
He opened the door to greet his two oldest sisters. One was a tall girl with blonde hair and a light-blue tanktop. She was on her phone talking and laughing with her boyfriend. The other was a slightly shorter girl with light-blonde hair, a pair of sunglasses on her forehead, and a seafoam green dress with white frills. She was holding up two sets of clothes on hanger and checked out how she would look in them.
"Lori, Leni, Dad's got big news to share over dinner." Lincoln informed. "Be down soon."
"Literally on it, little bro." Lori said. "Just gotta finish my call with Bobby."
"Be down soon." Leni said continuing to look at herself in her dresses.
After that, Lincoln moved onto the next room. When he looked in, he saw another pair of girls. One was a brown-haired girl wearing a purple shirt with a skull on it. She was standing in the center of the room playing on her electric guitar. Over where the beds are was the other sister, a girl with buck teeth in braces, brown hair tied in a ponytail, and a flower pinned on her white, sleeveless shirt. She sat with a ventriloquist dummy in her lap.
"Luna, Luan, better be down for dinner soon. Dad's got something to share."
"ON IIIIIIIIT!" Luna proclaimed in her rock star tone while riffing on her guitar.
"Be right there." Luan said before making her dummy talk.
"Hang on, Luan. I thought we were gonna play doctor."
"Sorry, Mr. Coconuts. But hey, you can still play doctor. You just have to be patient! HAHAHAHA!"
The top eyelids on Mr. Coconuts' eyes lowered. "I'm starting to think you like pun-ishing me."
After making sure the news reached the musician and the comedian, Lincoln moved onto the next room. He opened the door and stuck his head in.
"Hey, Lynn, Lucy, I…"
"Think fast, Stinkin'!" one of the girls inside yelled before a soccer ball was kicked to the door's location. Lincoln dodged out of the way and the ball bounced from the hallway wall and returned into the hands of the sister who kicked it, a girl in a red-and-white Jersy with the number 1 on it. "Good reflexes, bro."
"Thanks, Lynn." Lincoln said. "Anyway, Dad's got news to share with us over dinner. He wants everyone there."
"Tell them I'll be there." Lynn said while keeping the soccer ball up with her kicks into the air.
"Great." Lincoln said. He then turned to another girl who shared the room with Lynn. It was a pale girl with a black dress that matched her hair which hung over her eyes. "You coming too, Lucy."
"Sure, not like it matters." Lucy said glumly.
Lincoln left the room and headed to the next one. Inside were two other girls, both were twins who looked alike, but had very different clothes. One dressed like a princess in a pink dress and the other had more casual clothes with blue suspenders and a red hat.
"Lola, Lana, look alive. Dad's got news over dinner." Lincoln informed.
"Be right there." Lola said carefully brushing her blonde, beautiful hair.
"Me too." Lana said. "Just gotta put Izzy up." She removed her red hat revealing a small gecko nesting in her hair.
Lincoln left the twins' room and proceeded with the last room. Like the others, this also had two girls inside, the two youngest. One was a small girl with glasses and a green turtleneck sweater. The other was a baby girl playing in her crib. Lincoln couldn't help but notice that the baby was holding onto a metal rod.
"Lisa, are you using Lily for another experiment again?" Lincoln asked.
"Which answer will mean you will immediately vacate the premises?" Lisa asked.
"Well, you better stop now." Lincoln said. "Dad's preparing dinner, and he says he's got something to tell us."
"Very well." Lisa said. "I shall forgo my experiment to hear out Father's news."
"Glad to hear." Lincoln said. He paused. "You know, I can't leave until you stop your experiment, right?"
"Buzzkill." Lisa said taking the metal rod out of Lily's baby hands.
Lincoln smiled and left the room. "All right. That's just about everybody. Can't wait to see what Dad has to say."
A short while later, all the members of the Loud Family met up in the dining room and took their seats. Lynn Sr. slid on in with bowls full of chili which he gave to each of his kids and to his wife. He laid out one last bowl for himself and took his seat.
"Chili, huh?" Lincoln asked. "I could go for that." He began eating with the rest of his family.
"Why serving chili, Dad?" Lynn asked. "Not that I'm complaining."
"Ooh! I know! It's so everyone can see that he's the 'chili-est' dad." Luan laughed.
Lynn Sr. laughed. "Good one, honey. Anyway, I've got big news to share with everyone. Kids, lovely wife… we're going on a trip to New Orleans!"
Everyone shared the same surprised expression.
"Dear, this is very sudden." Rita said. "What brought this up?"
"Well, you guys ever heard of Elijah LeBlanc?" Lynn Sr. asked.
"The celebrity chef host?" Lori asked. "Yeah, you always talked about being on his show. What was it called again? The… Cagey…"
"Cajun, honey. It's called Cajun Caters. Well, get this. I was working at the restaurant, and wouldn't you know it, Elijah himself was eating my chili!"
"For real?" Lana asked.
"What was he doing in Royal Woods?" Lisa asked.
"He said he was attending a wedding nearby and thought he'd stop by for some lunch. Anyway, he liked my chili so much, he asked me to showcase it for him in his next show, which is in New Orleans! Isn't that amazing?"
The kids agreed in excitement. Rita kissed Lynn Sr.
"That's amazing, honey. I'm so proud." Rita said. "But how are we going to pay to go all the way to Louisiana?"
"Don't worry about it." Lynn Sr. said. "Elijah said he'll cover all expenses. He really wants my chili on his show."
"Well, then, I guess it's settled." Rita said. "Kids, we're going to New Orleans!"
All the Loud children cheered in excitement looking forward to everything they could find in the Big Easy.
"The Southern Belle dresses!" both Leni and Lola said.
"The music!" Luna yelled.
"The hauntings." Lucy said.
"The bayou critters!" Lana exclaimed.
"The unique bacterial specimens." Lisa said.
"Poo-poo." Lily said in her cute baby voice.
"Oh, man." Lincoln said excitedly. "I have a feeling this was going to be a family trip we'll never forget!"
Lincoln was right. This trip was going to be memorable for everyone, but not in the way they hoped it would be. Their lives were about to change for the scarier.
