CHAPTER 4
There she was, in the BlizzardWing palace, for the second time in her life, she looked to her left, there was Prince Snowblade, who looked half asleep with his head on the table, she looked to her right, there was King Frost and Queen Iceberg, scolding their son.
"Why are you so tired Snowblade?" King Frost asked. "Your mother and I BOTH told you to rest up before this meeting, what did you go do instead?"
"It's not MY fault the chefs needed help, you're the ones that requested an all-claws-on-deck meal, I was on my way to bed when they intercepted me, honest," Snowblade complained, his head not moving from its resting place. King Frost looked convinced.
Just then, a thump, thump, thump, King Bedrock, Queen Obsidian and Prince Boil had arrived. "Good evening, Queen Iceberg, King Frost, how are you?" Queen Obsidian asked.
"We're doing just fine today, nothing negative to report," Queen Iceberg answered.
Another two thumps, King Rubble and Queen Boulder landed on the balcony, took their seats, and stayed silent, not a surprise, in Twilight's experience, they rarely spoke, unless necessary, they sat in awkward silence until the ForestWings arrived.
"Mother, I've told you before, I don't like meetings, I asked you to allow me to stay home, but you said no, whyyyyy?" Princess Cacao complained.
"This is important to all three of us, and frankly, I don't trust you with that mischievous noble whilst we're not there to keep your shenanigans at bay," Queen Maple answered, without even a glance at her daughter.
"Lavender isn't mischievous, that's her sister, Laceleaf, she's the one that spiked your honey last week, not Lavender!" Cacao exclaimed.
Queen Maple slowly turned to face fer daughter. "And how do would you know that?" she asked.
"I, uhm... Deductive reasoning, I didn't have anything to do with that!" Cacao stammered.
"Hmm, one of these days, I will catch you in the act, for now though, be silent," Queen Maple ordered. Queen Iceberg was looking quite amused by the banter.
Soon later, King Tide and Queen Reef arrived. "Good evening," King Tide said. Snowblade looked up for a moment, then put his head back down.
Then the DesertWings arrived, accompanied by the WindWings. Queen Rattlesnake was talking with Queen Current about different kinds of foods around the continent, Twilight didn't really pay attention to their conversation. King Geyser and Princess Feldspar simply sat down and stayed silent until King Frost announced why they were there.
"Queen Current has given me a good idea last week; I thought we should ALL know about it," King Frost said. Feldspar looked at her mother with a surprised expression.
Oh really? What was it? Twilight looked at Snowblade. Ohhh, that's why he was late last night.
"She introduced me to a concept that could help to avoid war indefinitely, but first, something must be done so it can be successful, she told me about a shared community between the fourteen of us, a council of sorts," King Frost explained.
King Rubble raised his eyebrow, and Queen Boulder inspected her diamond claws, they both looked bored, as if they'd heard of this concept many times of being royalty, King Tide picked up on this and tried to fill the lull in the conversation. "What must be done for the success for this 'council'? Is it something small, or large?" he asked in his signature "I'm more powerful than any of you" voice.
King Frost looked irritated; he clearly disliked it when King Tide used that tone. "The PearlWings, they must be dealt with, they will never be on board with this idea, we must round them all up, and lock them away," he explained.
Now King Rubble leaned forward. "Lock the PearlWings away? Not possible, they have animus magic, we cannot counteract that, how do you propose that we do that?" he asked, his voice so deep and gravelly that it seemed like he ate rocks for both breakfast and lunch that day.
King Frost smiled at this question. "Have any of you heard, of The Gianim?"
Even Princess Cacao looked interested. "The Gianim? You're not suggesting that it's been found after all this time?" she looked around. "Are you?"
Queen Reef looked very confused. "What's The Gianim? Why is it important?" she asked.
Princess Cacao looked at the Queen with disbelief. "Only the most powerful thing in the world, it was created for the sole purpose of defeating the PearlWings by canceling out any possible animus spells, if you embed even a piece of it into something; natural or unnatural, it becomes immune to any animus spell!" she explained. "Its creator hid it somewhere in the Sapphire Mines, nobody has ever been able to find it!"
King Frost cut in with his own explanation for Cacao. "Yes, we've found it, now all we need to do is seal the PearlWing mountain, and use The Gianim on it, then The Council can come to fruition," King Frost explained.
Everybody went silent. Three moons Snowblade, how could you not pay attention to this? Twilight thought.
King Rubble was the first to break the silence. "You claim to have The Gianim, but where is it, I have not seen anything while I was outside that could resemble The Gianim," he asked.
King Frost looked around the room until he finally spotted Penguin at the entrance. "You," he pointed at Penguin. "Go get The Gianim!"
Penguin rushed through the corridors; it seemed like forever when Twilight finally saw The Gianim approaching them.
Princess Cacao's jaw looked like it just might fall off with how much it dropped. "Is that... Could that be?" she asked.
King Rubble only grunted in astonishment.
King Frost ran a talon along The Gianim, shivering just a tiny bit, but it was noticeable. "Ladies, and gentlemen, this... is The Gianim."
