I looked over at them, the group struggling to keep the experiments at bay. For a moment, I considered just walking through the door and leaving them to their fate. But then I thought, *Why not?* Saving their sorry asses wouldn't take much effort.

Without hesitation, I walked toward one of the women—Jill—who was about to be overwhelmed by an experiment lunging at her. Its claws were inches from her when I reached out and grabbed it by the neck. I squeezed, and with a sickening crack, crushed its throat, the creature going limp in my grasp.

Another experiment rushed me from the side, but I didn't even bother to look. I lashed out with my tail, smashing it into the wall with such force that its body was reduced to a bloody smear, like a pancake.

The group, momentarily stunned by the brutal efficiency, looked at me in a mix of surprise and shock. I turned my head slightly, my expression still calm and detached. "Don't expect me to save you every time."

Chris, panting from the fight, nodded, his tone grim. "Noted."

Leon, wiping blood from his face, gave a small smirk. "Remind me never to get on your bad side."

I glanced at the remaining experiments, calculating. The group had a better chance now, but there were still many left. My decision to help wasn't out of mercy—it was just… practical.
