WWF SummerSlam was live at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. D'Lo Brown defended his European Championship against Val Venis, initially showing respect to him when the two slapped hands. However, Brown would soon use his chest protector to gain leverage over Venis when the latter made an early advantage. Despite the protector, Venis still managed to retain some offensive momentum, legsweeping Brown out of the turnbuckle leading the champion to escape outside the ring. The two then embarked on a number of Irish whip maneuvers with frequent reversals, Venis perhaps taking Brown down more often. Despite flooring Venis with an Irish whip to the turnbuckle, Brown lost any advantage by gesturing to the crowd, though Venis' comeback was short-lived. Brown kept Venis mostly low, making many ground attacks from a standing position and the top ropes, often trying pins in between then switching tactics by applying a Texas cloverleaf. Rather than keep the pressure though, Brown let go and missed a senton bomb from the second rope, allowing Venis to recover and fight back with knees to the chest and elbow attacks. Venis tried to capitalize on this with his finisher, the money shot, but as Brown began to stand up Venis opted for a dropkick instead, however he was met with the grip of Brown who turned it into a Sky High instead but still Venis would not be pinned, similarly even after a DDT. Brown tried a high flying move of his own but Venis caught him mid air for a scoop slam. Despite subduing Brown with a double-armed suplex and a slam, Brown managed to get his knees up and after this attempted a powerbomb. The first powerbomb was unsuccessful though, Brown unable to flip Venis onto his shoulders and subsequently dropping him onto his head; the second though was a successful running powerbomb but rather than pin him, Brown attempted, and missed, the Lo Down. Venis then pulled off Brown's chest protector, putting it on himself and causing the referee to try to pull it off him. As Venis climbed the turnbuckle the referee accidentally pulled the ropes, causing Venis to land on his crotch. He still managed a Manhattan drop on Brown though, trying to climb the turnbuckle again with the referee still pulling at the chest protector. This time Venis shoved the referee to the ground, causing him to lose the match via disqualification; after the match he slammed the referee and landed the Moneyshot.

The Oddities, welcomed to the ring by Insane Clown Posse singing their music, lived up to their title when Golga, having had his head smashed against the turnbuckle by Taka Michinoku, headbanged voluntarily. After pouring water into Yamaguchi-San's shoe, the match began in earnest with Funaki being thrown around the ring by Kurrgan and despite the entire team illegally attacking Kurrgan, holding his arms, he still managed to kick away Funaki and toss the others restraining his hand. When Giant Silva was tagged in, all of Kaientai fled the ring, regrouping outside before Dick Togo was sent into the ring but similar to before the entire team soon ganged up on him but Silva piled all four of them into the turnbuckle, crushing them back into the padding before Irish whipping them into the opposite corner and then tossing Taka over the top rope, falling onto the other three members. Golga was the first Oddity brought to the floor, with a double slam by Funaki and Mens Teioh which was followed up by four big splashes by all members. Kai En Tai followed suite with four running elbow drops but a four-man Irish whip was met with a clothesline that took all of them out. With Kurrgan tagged in, the four tried to attack him but Kurrgan and Silva choked all four between the two of them. Yamaguchi tried to attack Kurrgan from behind but Luna Vachon scoop slammed him and all four of Kai En Tai received a chokeslam in unison and Golga covered all four of them to pick up the pin count.

The Hair match saw Jeff Jarrett's accomplices, Southern Justice, sent to the back by Commissioner Slaughter whilst Howard Finkel accompanied X-Pac to the ring, performing the signature crotch chops. The match moved both in and out of the ring early on, with Jarrett rushing X-Pac's open legs onto the ring post, leaving him almost to be counted out. When he returned to the ring, Jarrett continued his dominance with basic punching and Irish whips to the turnbuckle. X-Pac returned with a desperate swinging DDT allowing him to take some time to recover, but his attacking maneuvers were met with a sleeper hold. An attempt to put Jarrett in the sleeper hold saw him lifted from behind onto the turnbuckle but X-Pac used this to his advantage, spinning round into a crossbody which missed contact with his opponent. With both men on the floor, Jarrett applied his figure four leg lock in the middle of the ring, which X-Pac struggled to counter by turning over, eventually making it to the rope after a minute or so. Jarrett tried to lock the submission again but X-Pac kicked him from behind into the corner, catching him with a backdrop as Jarrett stumbled out. Despite a spinning heel kick and bronco buster, Jarrett was still able to land a diving crossbody, though X-Pac rolled it in his favor. Finkel climbed onto the apron to complain of a low blow attempt, when Jarrett turned back to the ring X-Pac landed an X Factor. Southern Justice appeared from the back, but X-Pac ducked El Kabong from Dennis Knight, grabbing the guitar and hitting Jarrett with it while the referee pushed Southern Justice out of the ring. Once the pinfall was made, fellow Degenerates, New Age Outlaws rushed to ringside with chairs to chase away Southern Justice while The Headbangers and Darren Drozdov helped hold Jarrett in his chair while he had his hair removed, though he escaped the ring before he was completely shaved bald.

Sable arrived to the ring and introduced her mystery tag team partner, with Edge coming through the crowd to make his pay-per-view debut. Marc Mero and Edge were the initial opponents though Mero soon tagged in Jacqueline, however she immediately tagged Mero back when confronted by Sable. On the outside Jacqueline pulled at Edge's feet while running, allowing Mero to take the advantage and, with the referee distracted, choked him on the bottom rope. Mero attempted a TKO but Edge swung round to secure a DDT and with both men down they crawled to tag in their prospective female partners. Sable instantly scooped Jacqueline and punched her before chasing her around the ring and back in. Inside the ring Mero tried to subdue Sable, but he was lowblowed and then he almost got a Sable Bomb, but Jacqueline saved Mero this allowed Jacqueline to take some advantage but Sable soon turned the tables back in her favor, landing a TKO on Jacqueline. Mero pulled Sable off the pin and while distracted, was double teamed by both opponents. Jacqueline accidentally hit her partner though, letting Sable tag in Edge who made a running suicide leap onto Mero, before whipping him into the steel steps and spanking Jacqueline on the walkway. A pinning attempt after a super neckbreaker was put on hold when Mero's partner put his feet on the bottom rope. Once again the two accidentally collided, when Edge ducked out of the way leaving Jacqueline on the outside of the ring. When Mero went to the top rope, Edge reversed leaving him sitting on the turnbuckle and then tagged in Sable who delivered a frankensteiner. Edge then went to pin Mero but leapt off him when he saw Jacqueline flying for a splash, leading the two to collide once again. Sable and Edge then whipped their respective opponents into the corner, with Mero falling out of it and then Jacqueline falling head first onto his crotch. Edge then grabbed Sable by her legs and planted her face first onto Mero to secure the pin.

The Lion's Den match, which took place in a separate theatre within Madison Square Garden in front of a special crowd, was contested in a pseudo-circular polygon cage, with steel wire and no ropes approximately ten feet high. After both competitors entered the den, the door was chained shut. The match began with Owen Hart being driven into the steel wall and then slammed into the ground, though Ken Shamrock would receive the same treatment. Shamrock then backdropped Hart and picked up to hold him in submission around his head. Though Hart threw Shamrock into the wall, Shamrock instantly retaliated with a clothesline and proceeded to pull off Hart's shirt and use it to choke Hart from behind, bringing him down with a snapmare using the cloth and continuing to pull at his neck. As Hart stood up, Shamrock jumped into the cage and jumped back off it, higher, to crossbody his opponent. After throwing Hart into the wall again, Shamrock soon felt the wrath of the den as he was driven into the metal frames that secured the chain. Hart caught Shamrock's foot, but the latter followed through with an enzuigiri negating either advantage. As the two returned to their feet it became an exchange of punches before Shamrock again used the cage to aid him into a flying shoulder barge, but the second time he did this Hart caught him and slammed him into the mat and used the advantage to lock in the Sharpshooter. Shamrock slowly crawled to the cage and used his fingers to climb up, building pressure on his own legs but making it awkward for Hart to sustain the hold. Despite breaking out Hart managed to catch Shamrock, bending him backwards with his arm wrapped around Shamrock's neck. Shamrock broke free by walking up the steel and flipping over the back of Hart, tripping him with a toe hold that allowed him to utilize an arm bar submission before applying his ankle lock that forced Dan Severn to walk away in disgust and Hart to tap out.

With Kane absent from the arena, the falls count anywhere match for the WWF Tag Team Championship became a de facto handicap match. New Age Outlaws brought out a dumpster full of weapons, alluding to an incident in February where they had locked Mankind, as Cactus Jack, and Chainsaw Charlie in a dumpster and thrown it off the stage. Billy Gunn ran into the ring and met with a baking tray to his head from Mankind before the two had a sword fight of sorts, with a steel chair. Despite Mankind taking the advantage from this, the tandem attacks of baking sheets to the head subdued Mankind until he was caught in the ropes. After taking more weapons to the head, Mankind managed to toss Gunn over his back to the outside and fought Road Dogg into the corner. When Mankind went back out the ring to continue his assault on Gunn, though, the handicap caught up with him and he was thrown against the dumpster. Road Dogg opened up a table in the corner but Mankind managed to reverse the Irish whip, forcing Gunn through it. After a double team elevated neckbreaker did not dispatch him, he suffered a double team powerbomb through two chairs and again this did not keep Mankind down (although after Mankind kicked out, the Outlaws music briefly played) but finally a spiked piledriver onto the championship belt was enough to keep him down. After winning, Outlaws put Mankind in the dumpster and closed the lid. Whilst the Outlaws celebrated, the lid of the dumpster opened and Kane stood up, picking up a sledgehammer and throwing it down on an unseen Mankind inside the dumpster.

Next up was the Triple Threat Ladder match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

Before the match, a promo package played showing the rivalry between the Bladewolf, Triple H and the Rock from before Fully Loaded and after it in the buildup to SummerSlam.

Following that, the DX band was in attendance to perform 'Are You Ready?' for Triple H. Triple H then came out, accompanied by Chyna, and makes his way towards the ring, Triple H and Chyna join the band in the ring, with Triple H going onto a middle turnbuckle and raising his arms.

Soon, the song came to an end.

"That's Chris Warren and the DX band." JR said as Triple H starts throwing the instruments out of the ring.

"Woah." Jerry was surprised at the sight.

"Performing live, here." JR continued.

The Rock's theme then hits and out he comes, accompanied by Mark Henry, He glares at Triple H in the ring, with Triple H glaring right back at him. The Rock then climbs a ladder outside the ring and raises his arm, posing, then gestures that the title will be his.

"the Rock, former Intercontinental Champion. Lost it back in May to the Bladewolf." JR recalled. "And on August 3rd marked the full calendar year since the Bladewolf's arrival in the WWF. But it was this event last year that he arrived."

The Rock enters the ring and stares down Triple H, with the referee keeping both men apart from each other. The Rock's theme soon dies down, and now they had to await the arrival of the Champion.

OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!

The Devil's Wolf played to a loud cheer from the fans as the lights switched to the sinister blood red and dark blue before the Bladewolf walked out, accompanied by Kane, and the WWF Intercontinental Championship around his waist.

"And there he is, the reigning Intercontinental Champion." JR said, as Bladewolf and Kane approached the ring. "And I'm honestly not surprised to see him being accompanied by Kane."

"Kane ditched Mankind, JR." Jerry said, recalling what happened earlier. "He left him for the New Age Outlaws, and then appeared after the match to beat him up."

JR nodded. "That he did, King. And this is an intimidating sight. The Bladewolf and Kane, side-by-side, brothers."

Bladewolf climbs onto the ring apron while Kane stands outside, and steps over the top rope. He looks from Triple H to the Rock, glaring at both of them with his cold, dark brown eyes. He takes off the Intercontinental Championship and hands it to the referee as his theme dies down and the lights return to normal.

The referee holds the title up, showing that it's on the line, then connects it to the hook that will suspend the title above the ring.

"All these men have to do to win is to climb the ladder and unhook the title." JR said. "And there you see it, suspended above the ring."

The referee checked all three men before calling for the bell while exiting the ring.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Bladewolf did not waste any time as he charges and blindsides the Rock, then whirls around and lands a big right hand on Triple H, knocking the man back.

"And Bladewolf not wasting any time, getting started right away!" JR said. Bladewolf grabs the Rock and brings his forearm down onto his back repeatedly. "Big forearms to the back of the Rock."

Bladewolf then drives his knee into the side of the Rock's head, momentarily dazing him as he fell to his hands and knees. triple H attacks Bladewolf from behind, turning the masked man's attention to him as the two start slugging it out.

"Now Bladewolf and Helmsley." JR stated. "These two have not had as much issues with each other as Bladewolf has with the Rock, which all began back in May when the Bladewolf won the Intercontinental Championship from him."

"In several seconds." Jerry reminded him.

"In several seconds." JR nodded.

Bladewolf grabs Triple H in a headlock, but Triple H pushes him towards the ropes and then sends him running to the other side. Bladewolf bounces off the ropes and takes Triple H down with a clothesline. Bladewolf then ran, bounced off the ropes again, and came back for a running elbow drop but Triple H rolled out of the way and then took the Bladewolf down with a forearm to the head. But as soon a she was knocked onto his back, Bladewolf sat right up.

"And Bladewolf sits up." JR said.

"So quick to do so." Jerry added.

Bladewolf gets to his feet as Triple H goes on the attack, landing clubbing blows to the masked face of the Champion, who pushes him into the ropes. Triple H bounces off and comes running only to get taken down with a clothesline by the Rock.

"And there's the Rock!" JR said, wincing at the impact of the clothesline. "The Rock taking Helmsley down." The Rock turns and goes toe-to-toe with the Bladewolf. "And now it's the Bladewolf and the Rock, going at it."

The Rock keeps up the assault, landing right punch after right punch, forcing the Bladewolf back into the corner before he fights back with an elbow to the Rock's face, making the man stumble back. He turns only for Bladewolf to grab his throat.

"Uh-oh." JR said, knowing what's coming. "The Bladewolf..." But instead, Bladewolf turned and threw the Rock into the corner, where he unloads with lefts and rights. "Thought he was going for the Chokeslam there, but he's got the Rock in the corner. Hammering away with lefts and rights."

Bladewolf rears back, then lands a big right hand that knocks the Rock down.

"Oh!" Jerry winced.

"What a right hand." JR nodded.

Bladewolf flips his hair back and turns around only for Triple H to catch him with a right hand. triple H takes the fight to the Champion, landing blow after blow, before he Irish whips him off the ropes. Bladewolf reverses it, sends Triple H to the ropes. Triple H comes back and... LANDS A FACEBUSTER!

"Facebuster by Triple H on the Bladewolf." JR said.

Bladewolf stumbled a little from the facebuster, with Triple H delivering a boot to the stomach that sent him into the corner. Triple H runs and hits a turnbuckle clothesline on the Champion, followed by an onslaught of right hands to the head.

"Now Triple H on the attack here." JR said.

Triple H keeps it up, forcing Bladewolf down onto his backside, then starts stomping away at him when the Rock comes up, whirls Triple H around and starts unloading on him.

"Now Triple H and the Rock." JR said.

The Rock keeps up the assault before he ducks a right from Triple H and hooks him up into a familiar position.

"uh-oh." Jerry said.

"Look out here." JR warned. "Rock Bottom!"

As the Rock went for it, Triple H countered and threw the Rock off. "No, countered." Jerry said.

The Rock lands a boot to Triple H's gut, followed by a right punch that sends Triple H over to the corner. Trapping Triple H in the corner, the Rock starts landing big blows to the head of the DX leader, forcing the man down onto his backside just as Triple H did the Bladewolf. The Rock then pulls Triple H to his feet before going for an Irish whip off the ropes, but Triple H reverses. The Rock comes back into a kick to the stomach, and then Triple H starts setting up for the Pedigree.

But the Rock grabs Triple H's legs and lifts him overhead, over the top rope, and to the outside.

"Look out! look out!" Jerry shouted as Triple H hits the floor.

The Rock looks out at Triple H, then turns around only to get a clothesline from the Bladewolf which sends the Rock over the top rope and out to the floor with Triple H.

"And there's the Bladewolf." JR said.

Bladewolf flips his hair back before looking over at the ladder stationed outside the ring. He walks over, exits the ring and grabs the ladder when Mark Henry walks over and mouths off to Bladewolf, but Kane takes a threatening step forward.

"Now Kane and Mark Henry." JR stated. "Kane not letting Mark Henry get near the Bladewolf."

Triple H, who had recovered first, saw what Bladewolf was doing and made his way over. Just before Bladewolf could grab the ladder, Triple H turned him around and lands a big right hand.

"Right hand by Triple H." JR said.

Bladewolf shakes the blow off, and retaliates with a punch of his own to Triple H. Helmsley recovers and lands a boot to Bladewolf's stomach, then grabs him and sends him into the metal railing of the entrance way.

"Oh." Jerry winced.

"Bladewolf sent into the seats here on the entrance way." JR said. Triple H pulls Bladewolf to his feet and sends him into the steel again. "This steel is not very forgiving quite frankly."

The Rock comes up, but Triple H sees him and elbows him in the face, then grabs him and sends him into the railing.

"And now Triple H sending the Rock." JR said.

Triple H focuses on the Rock, bringing them back towards the ring. After ramming The Rock's head off the barricade, Triple H throws the former Intercontinental Champion back into the ring, then slides in after him.

"Triple H is really trying to isolate the Bladewolf from the match, to focus on the Rock." JR noted.

"It's a smart move." Jerry approved. "The Bladewolf is the Champion and most dangerous guy in this. He's got Kane at ringside, and you know Kane is going to be a factor."

"Perhaps, King." JR shrugged.

Triple H walked right into a right hand from the Rock, who is now turning control of the match to his side as he follows his punch up with another, driving Triple H into the corner, then lands a third punch before going for an Irish whip only for Triple H to reverse it. The Rock bounces off the ropes, ducks a right from Triple H, rebounds off the ropes, ducks another right from Triple H, bounces off the ropes again only to get dropped with a high knee to the face by Triple H.

"High knee by Helmsley." JR said as Triple H rolls out of the ring and goes for the ladder. "He puts the Rock down, and now he's going for the ladder." However, Bladewolf was there and shoved the ladder right into Triple H's face. "Oh! And the Bladewolf, still outside the ring, shoving the ladder into Triple H's face!"

Bladewolf looks down at Triple H before he starts grabbing the ladder as the Rock rolls out the ring and walks over... ONLY TO GET THE LADDER DRIVEN INTO HIS FACE!

"And Bladewolf!" JR exclaimed. "Bladewolf with the ladder! Striking the Rock in the face!"

"That's gotta hurt." Jerry said.

Bladewolf walks towards the ring with the ladder in hand, and tosses it into the ring.

"here we go." Jerry said knowingly. "Bladewolf looking to win."

"Ladder in hand, Bladewolf needs to climb it and unhook his title to win and retain." JR said.

Before Bladewolf could slide in, Triple H attacks him from behind with furious forearms to the back, forcing Bladewolf to cover up and protect himself while trying to fight back. Bladewolf wraps his arms around Triple H, lifts him off his feet and then runs... AND DRIVES TRIPLE H INTO THE STEEL STEPS!

"Oh!" Jerry winced.

"The Bladewolf, driving Triple H into the steel steps!" JR exclaimed.

Bladewolf gets to his feet, then delivers a stomp to Triple H's chest for good measure. Bladewolf turns and walks over to the ring, reaching in to drag the ladder out of it when the Rock attacks him from behind.

"And now the Rock." JR said.

"Good." Jerry nodded.

The Rock lands punch after punch before he backs Bladewolf up, then goes for an irish whip but Bladewolf reverses... AND SENDS THE ROCK INTO THE LADDER!

"Look out!" JR said.

"Oh!" Jerry flinched at the impact.

The Rock stumbles forward only for Bladewolf to lift him up... AND THROW HIM INTO THE LADDER AGAIN!

"Good grief!" JR shakes his head. "That ladder, I can't believe it's not even bent from the force of the Rock colliding with it like that!"

Bladewolf flips his hair back and adjusts his elbow pads briefly, before pushing the Rock off the ladder, which he then picks up and pushes into the ring before sliding in after it.

"Here we go." Jerry said.

Bladewolf stands up and picks up the ladder, then sets it up in the middle of the ring. Right underneath the Intercontinental title.

"This could do it." Jerry pointed out.

"The Bladewolf has set that ladder up. Now he has to climb it and unhook the title." JR said. "That's an eight-foot ladder."

Bladewolf starts climbing the ladder, unaware of Triple H climbing the top turnbuckle behind him. "There's Triple H. What's he gonna do?" Jerry questioned.

"Triple H from the top!" JR shouted.

Triple H leaps off and... LANDS A FOREARM TO THE BACK OF THE BLADEWOLF! KNOCKING BLADEWOLF AND THE LADDER DOWN!

"The Bladewolf got knocked off the ladder, which fell right onto Triple H!" JR said.

Both men fight to their feet, with Triple H grabbing the ladder and holding it, waiting as Bladewolf turns around... ONLY TO GET STRUCK IN THE CHEST WITH THE LADDER!

"Oh!" Jerry flinched at the impact. "Man! He swung that ladder like Mark McGuire would swing a baseball bat."

The Rock slides into the ring... BUT GETS STRUCK WITH THE LADDER AS WELL!

"And one to the Rock!" JR said.

Triple H eyes both men who were down, before he walks over to the Bladewolf first with the ladder in hand. He stands over him and then... DRIVES THE TOP OF THE LADDER INTO HIS STOMACH!

"Oh man!" JR exclaimed. "Good grief!"

Triple H walks over to the Rock, and... DOES THE SAME TO HIM!

"Man, what an innovative way to use that ladder as a weapon." JR said. "Right into the Bladewolf and Rock's chest."

Triple H now sets the ladder up in the middle of the ring, and begins to climb it, even with one bad leg. However, the Rock makes it to his feet and walks over then yanks Triple H off the ladder, making him land on his bad leg which brings the man down.

"Oh." Jerry winced.

"Helsmely with his bad leg, the Rock taking advantage of it." JR said.

Triple H limbs back to his feet only to get knocked down with a kick to his bad leg by the Rock, who now focuses on the leg as he drives his elbow down onto it repeatedly, and even gives it a few kicks, further hurting Triple H.

The Rock then walks over to the ladder and starts to fold it, when the Bladewolf runs up and boots the ladder into the Rock, knocking the man down.

"And there's the Bladewolf, again." JR said. "Kicking the ladder into the Rock."

Bladewolf grabs the ladder, then looks at Triple H clutching his bad leg. He looks at the ladder... AND THEN LETS IT DROP ONTO TRIPLE H'S BAD LEG!

"Look at this!" Jerry said.

"Oh!" JR flinched.

Bladewolf looks down at Triple H, then lifts his right foot... BEFORE DELIVERING A HARD STOP TO THE BAD LEG!

"And now the Bladewolf, like a wolf smelling blood, is coming in for the kill." JR said.

Bladewolf drags the ladder over, then opens it a little to put Triple H's leg in-between it. He then... STOMPS ON THE LADDER! Triple H cries out in pain. Bladewolf lifts his foot and does it again! Bladewolf stands over, then he jumps up... AND HITS A LEG DROP ONTO THE LADDER!

"Yow!" Jerry flinched at the sight.

"A leg drop right onto the ladder and Triple H's bad knee!" JR said.

Bladewolf gets to his feet and looks around when Kane pushes a steel chair into the ring.

"Hey look!" Jerry pointed.

"Kane, sliding a steel chair into the ring, for his brother most likely." JR said as Bladewolf picks up the steel chair. "As we said, Kane would become a factor in this match."

Bladewolf looks down at Triple H and puts his foot on the ladder, adding a little pressure that makes Triple H yell in pain. Bladewolf raises the chair before whirling around... AND CLOCKS IT OFF THE ROCK'S SKULL!

"Oh!" The commentators, as well as some fans, flinched from the impact of steel meeting flesh.

"I felt that." Jerry said.

"The Rock, trying to sneak up on the Bladewolf got a steel chair to the skull for his trouble." JR said.

Bladewolf looks down at the Rock before he turns, raises the chair... AND BRINGS IT DOWN ONTO THE LADDER!

"Bladewolf using that chair like a hammer." JR said.

Bladewolf raises the chair... AND BRINGS IT DOWN ONTO THE LADDER AGAIN! He raises the chair up... AND DOES IT AGAIN! THEN AGAIN! THEN AGAIN! THEN AGAIN!

"Good God! he's trying to destroy Triple H's knee!" JR shouted. Bladewolf then walks over to Triple h, raises the chair up and drives the blunt edge into the chest. "Oh! And now into the chest!"

Bladewolf does this repeatedly before he raises the chair up again... AND BRINGS IT DOWN ONTO TRIPLE H'S HEAD!

"Oh my God!" Jerry exclaimed.

Bladewolf drops the chair and turns his attention to the Rock, who is still recovering from the chair shot off the skull. Bladewolf goes on the attack, delivering stomps to the chest of the People's Champion, then brings his elbow down hard. Bladewolf grabs the Rock and pushes him out of the ring before he grabs the ladder, giving triple H's leg a kick for good measure, and drops it outside the ring.

"What's he going to do here?" Jerry wondered.

"I have no clue, King, but that man will make anything he gets his hands on a weapon." JR said grimly.

Bladewolf rolls out the ring and sets the ladder up as a bridge using the steel steps and the barricade. He then walks over and grabs the Rock, dragging him over to the ladder. He makes the Rock look him in the eye before he then grabs him by the throat.

"Oh no." JR said, knowing what's coming. "Not this! Not on the ladder."

Bladewolf lifts the Rock up... AND CHOKESLAMS HIM ONTO THE LADDER!

"Chokeslam! A Chokeslam! Right on the ladder!" JR shouted.

"The ladder is bent! It's broken!" Jerry pointed out.

Bladewolf looks down at the Rock, and notices the destroyed ladder but he is not concerned as he leaves the Rock there and walks around the ring, looking underneath it before pulling out a second ladder.

"Well, there's another ladder." Jerry said.

Bladewolf tosses the ladder into the ring before sliding in and starts to set it up in the middle of the ring when Triple H attacks from behind.

"Triple H! Bad leg and all! Going on the attack!" JR shouted. Triple H lands blow after blow, punching away at the Bladewolf before backing off due to the pain in his leg. He then comes back but Bladewolf kicks Triple H in his bad leg. "And right to the knee, again!"

Triple H goes down, clutching his leg. Bladewolf shakes his head and gets to his feet as Triple H rolls out of the ring. Bladewolf quickly follows and stomps on Triple H repeatedly. Bladewolf then pulls Triple H to his feet and walks him over to the announce tables, then rams his head off the Spanish announce table.

"Triple H and the Bladewolf, over here now." JR said. Bladewolf brings Triple H over to their table and then rams his head off it. "And now right off our table!"

Triple H falls down and Chyna bends down to check on him when she notices the Bladewolf and stands up, facing him. Kane walks over and makes Chyna back off as Bladewolf continues his assault on Triple H, stomping on him twice, then bends to a knee to start hammering away with a fury of rights to the forehead. Bladewolf stops, gets to his feet and then eyes the announce table before he grabs Triple H and pulls him over.

"What's he going to do here?" Jerry asked.

Bladewolf brings Triple H's head between his legs and bends down to grab him around the waist when Triple H manages to lift him off his feet... AND BLADEWOLF FALLS OVERHEAD! HIS LEGS COLLIDE WITH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!

"Oh!" Jerry winced.

"Triple H countered!" JR shouted. "I think the Bladewolf was going for a powerbomb there. But nonetheless, Triple H has managed to buy himself some time."

Meanwhile, the Rock had recovered from the Chokeslam through the first ladder, and is now back in the ring, slowly setting up the ladder as his body was racked with pain all over after the Chokeslam.

"And the Rock, taking advantage of the situation." JR said. "He may win this!"

"We're gonna have a new Champion, JR!" Jerry added.

Chyna ran around the ring to quickly check on Triple H and help him to his feet, telling him what was happening. Triple H stumbled over to the ring and tried to get inside when Mark Henry comes over and grabs him from behind.

"Mark Henry! Trying to prevent Triple H from getting inside the ring!" JR shouted. Chyna turns Henry around and nails him with a punch to the face. "And Chyna!"

The Rock is now at the top of the ladder, reaching for the title when Triple H rushes in and pushes him off the ladder! The Rock goes flying through the ropes and out to the floor!

"The Rock was- literally, the belt was at his fingertips!" JR said. "When Helmsley pushed the ladder over."

Triple H slowly gets to his feet and sees the Rock getting back to his. He runs and... BASEBALL SLIDES INTO THE LADDER! DRIVING IT INTO THE ROCK'S FACE!

"Oh!" The commentators winced.

"Oh, he's busted!" Jerry said as the camera shows the Rock was bleeding from between the eyes, where the ladder struck him.

Triple H sets the ladder up again and begins to climb it. His fingers were just inches away from the title when the Bladewolf rushes into the ring, steel chair in hand... AND SMACKS IT OFF TRIPLE H'S BAD LEG!

"Oh! And the Bladewolf from behind with the steel chair!" JR shouted.

Bladewolf rears back... AND SMACKS THE CHAIR OFF TRIPLE H'S BACK!

"And off the back!" JR said.

Bladewolf drops the chair, then walks around, grabs the ladder and pushes it forward... SENDING TRIPLE H DOWN TO THE MAT!

"Man, what a match this is." JR said.

Bladewolf leans on the ladder, still feeling the pain from his legs hitting the announce table, then begins to climb the ladder when mark Henry slides into the ring and clobbers him from behind.

"And Mark Henry! Henry preventing the Bladewolf from climbing the ladder!" JR said. Kane slides in and attacks Henry. "And now here's Kane!"

Together, Bladewolf and Kane start stomping away on Mark Henry.

"And now the brothers, assaulting Mark Henry!" JR shouted.

Kane grabs Henry and lifts him onto his shoulder, managing to get him into position as Bladewolf grabs the steel chair and positions it just right before he climbs to the top turnbuckle.

"My God, the strength and power of Kane!" JR said.

"They're not gonna do what I think they're going to do!" Jerry said.

"Same thing they did to Mankind on RAW." JR said.

Bladewolf leaps off... AND THEY HIT A SPIKE TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER ONTO THE STEEL CHAIR!

Kane rolls out the ring while Bladewolf walks over to the ladder and begins to climb it. He just reached the top when the Rock slides into the ring and goes to shove the ladder over but Bladewolf kicks him down.

"And the Rock back down!" JR shouted.

Before Bladewolf could reach for the title, Triple H was climbing up the other side with a surge of adrenaline, and the two start slugging it out with right fists.

"Now it's Triple H and the Bladewolf! Slugging it out on top of the ladder!" JR said. "Only one man's going to win this. Only one man can walk away the Intercontinental Champion!"

Triple H throws a right and Bladewolf tilts back, very nearly falling off. Triple H reaches for the title... BUT BLADEWOLF GRABS HIM BY THE THROAT! Bladewolf rears back... AND PUSHES TRIPLE H DOWN TO THE CANVAS!

"Triple H is down! The Rock is down!" The Bladewolf is at the top of the ladder!" JR shouted.

"Get up, Rock!" Jerry shouted.

Bladewolf reaches up, grabs the title... AND UNHOOKS IT! THE BLADEWOLF RETAINS THE TITLE!

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

The Devil's Wolf plays as Bladewolf leans on the top of the ladder, exhausted. "Here is your winner and STILL World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion... THE BLADEWOLF!" Tony Chimel announced.

"What an effort! What an effort by all three men!" JR said. "Bladewolf walks in to the very event he debuted at last year, as a Champion, and he's leaving as Champion!"

Bladewolf climbs down from the ladder and falls against the ropes. He slowly rolls out of the ring, clutching his title close. Kane walks by his side, helping his brother along as they make their way to the back.

And that's it for this match.
