Chapter II

The Last Stand of Kiyoto

Governor Trajan leant heavily to one side. His lip bleeding profusely as he clinched his abdomen. Whatever the Wind Diamyo's forces had used was alarmingly effective. His captains were all dead. Infact all that was left was a few of his soldiers.

The Wind Daimyo's forces had devastated the civialian population of Kiyoto. They used nothing lime what the Talogans had developed. But these were deadlier and didn't reload. Fortunately, Trajan's men managed to capture a few of the weapons used by the invaders and sent them to Tolaga for reverse engineering.

But now they just had to hope that Taloga was alerted to the threat. A Wind Daimyo general walked smuggly over to the last defenders. "I accept your unconditional surrender Naruto." He said as he laughed. Trajan laughed too. "I am not the emperor fool. This is Kiyoto, Taloga is north of here." Trajan said as he smiled.

The general instantly lost all the pride he originally had. "Why you damn!" Trajan drew his sword and charged. The last of his men did as well; roaring wifh defiance and determination. The surprising move caught the Wind Daimyo's forces off gaurd but they quickly ended all the Kiyoto defenders' lives. "We travel north! To Taloga!" The general said as he started marching in that direction.

An hour later, Falcon arrived with the Eagle's Brigade and the few sent to have the new weapons reverse engineered. Falcon's eyes widened as he saw the once loved city ravaged. Countless Tolagan citizens and soldiers alike lay scattered across the ground.

"I'm sorry Commander." A weak voice called out. Falcon turned to see a mangled Governor Trajan lay on the ground. Falcon ran over to his old friend. "Trajan what did theu do to you?" "Don't mind...that Falco-n. The Wind Daimyo's forc-es are g-going north.." Trajan stuttered out.

In an instant Falcon spread his hand over Trajan. White light soon shown and Trajan felt the agony of his wounds cease and found it easier to breath. He looked down and found his wounds were no more. He looked up at Falcon as he stared in awe. "How many are there Trajan?" Falcon asked ignoring the staring. "At least one million of them Falcon. But they are nothing like I've seen. They used weapons that shot light at us and it was surprisingly effective. We had sent the few we captured to Taloga." Trajan said.

Behind the visor, Falcon seethed. He knew all too well what these new weapons were that the Wind Daimyo's forces were using. 'Laser guns, this will be difficult to stop.' He thought to himself.

Then it occurred to Falcon that the enemy was going north. "Did you send the enemy north?" Falcon asked his friend. Trajan smiled mischievously "why wouldn't I? Only thing north is the Tondora Mountains."

Falcon smirked "Trajan, your undying service is most grateful to me. But now I must move quickly." Falcon said as he suddenly vanished and reappeared with a Wind Daimyo spy that had overheard everything. The spy was instantly on his hand and knees as Falcon intentionally made him fall. "Stay down invader." Falcon said as he grabbed a knife from one of his scabbards.

The spy looked around and saw the many elites staring at him and glaring. He looked up to see a man dressed in all black with a visor and a wide variety of weapons at his disposal. "You think you can stop us from achieving victory fool? Ha! General Hideiki will quash you!" The spy arrogantly. "So he's the one responsible for the destruction of this city?" Falcon asked calmly before walking forward casually. "He is and he will bring destruction to Taloga itself!" The spy said sneering.

"Do you know who I am?" Falcon asked calmly. The spy looked puzzled. "I am the Commander and Chief of the Imperial Talogan Army punk. And I will defend this land until it is it's time to be destroyed." "Ha! The time for Taloga's destruction is now!" The spy barked. "No, but I'm afraid I'm done with you, with a snap of my finger alone, I can turn your entire army into blood and there is nothing you can do to stop me from destroying all you care about." Falcon said as he reached for one of his swords. The blade came out with literal arcs of electricity surrounding the entire blade. The spy looked terrified as he saw it.

Falcon's demeanor quickly changed. He was now excited. "You will not live to warn your general of the deceit we played you, you will only deliver the message when he reaches Hell. And before he goes, YOU WILL GO FIRST!" Falcon roared as his blade came down on the spy's wretched neck. The head rolled cleanly off the shoulders and thudded to the ground at Falcon's feet.

"We go after the invaders. Taloga is in capable hands at the moment. Our beloved capital is not in the clear though. Send an eagle at once tell all that has happened!" Falcon ordered as his troops ran to comply with everything ordered.

"This was Kiyoto's last stand. And shall always be remembered as such." Falcon said as he looked once again at the ruined city. "May the blood of our foes flow all the more for what they have done." Trajan cursed.

"Patience Trajan, the invaders will never expect their mightiest weapons to bring their destruction." Falcon said assuredly. "Now go to Taloga with a company and stay put there preparing the city for the siege to come." Falcon ordered his friend. "I will do as you say Falcon." Trajan said as a company of Eagle's Brigade soldiers marched with him to Taloga.

The damage done to Kiyoto was too great to rebuild the city. But it would stand as a dark reminder of what had happened here. Though it fell, Kiyoto's last stand was clearly showing the determination of its occupants.
