Where was I? Somewhere big, and scary, like a big city? Right in a downtown area by a bunch of cars, all backed up, and there were lots of people screaming. Also, my clothes felt really tight, and uncomfortable and strange.

"Uravity?" said some strange girl in front of me. Oo-Ra-Vit-ee? A weird sounding word. "What should we do next?" She turned to me. She had long green hair, and great big round eyes, and she looked a bit like a frog. She was wearing this tight outfit in greens, and a pair of goggles.

"Do I know you?" I asked her. She was looking at me like - like she knew me? Like we were friends.

"What are you talking about, Ochako?"

"Ochako - is that my name?"

"Uh-oh," said the girl, grabbing my arms. "Ryukyu said - that villain with the amnesia quirk, she must be nearby, she must have got you!"

"Oh," I said. It was true, I couldn't remember my name, or who I was, or where I'd come from. A villain? Like a bad guy in a story? Someone had given me amnesia, I guessed.

"It'll be ok, Ochako - I'll tell the others, you'll just have to go somewhere safe until your memory comes back. I'll go find her and get you back."

She looked really protective, which made me feel kind of safe.

"What should I do?"

"Just - go somewhere safe, I guess? And wait for me. I'll call you when I get her."

"Wait - " I called to her as she turned to leave. "What's my quirk?"

"You make things float by touching them with all five fingers, and they lose their gravity. They drop again when you put your fingers together and say release."

"Oh - so I shouldn't touch something that way, by accident?"

"Right. Just - stay safe, until I get her, ok?"

I nodded, but as she left - almost hopping away, like a frog - I didn't feel very safe. Where was I supposed to go? I didn't know where I was, or where safe was supposed to be, and now I was afraid to touch anything, just in case I - whatever my quirk was supposed to do.

I walked along, my body feeling really uncomfortable. I was wearing these huge pink boots and it was kind of unstable walking on them.

Suddenly, a young woman came running up to me. "Please, hero! Please tell me, who am I? I was here in the middle of everything, and - and now I can't remember anything!"

I was gonna tell her I couldn't remember anything either, but she looked so freaked out, so I just tried to look heroic. "It's gonna be ok, ma'am. The heroes are here, and they're gonna catch the villain. We've just gotta get you somewhere safe until they do."

I wasn't sure why I was doing this, but hey, if I got her somewhere safe, that'd get me somewhere safe too. She looked really relieved and hopeful, and I started looking around for somewhere - something.

"I'm kind of not from around here - excuse me, sir?" I asked someone passing by, "Where's the nearest hospital? This woman has amnesia."

"Should be down that way and to the right," he pointed me, and I nodded and smiled. "Thanks, sir."

"Thanks - What's your hero name?"

I made a guess, based on what the frog girl had called me. "Uravity, sir."

"Right. Good luck!"

I walked the woman in the direction he'd pointed. Uravity, huh? Weird hero name. I guess I'm a hero of some kind? But I feel pretty young...

The hospital took the woman easily, but I didn't want to admit in front of her that I had amnesia too, so I just stood in the lobby feeling strange. I was trying desperately to remember something, and I felt like I wanted to go out and find that frog girl again, just to be near someone who knew me.

Suddenly, outside, I heard a giant crash. I turned to look through the window. A car had rear-ended someone. I didn't think, I just ran out into the wreck to make sure everyone was ok.

The woman at the wheel was screaming. I opened the door - it didn't start floating, so I guessed I hadn't done it - and said, "Ma'am - are you ok?"

"I can't remember!" She was screaming. I looked around. Everyone near me was screaming and running too - a chorus of - "I can't remember, I can't remember, I can't remember!"

That villain with the amnesia quirk must be nearby, I thought. Everyone was looking so scared, and wasn't listening to me.

They don't wanna be told to stay calm.

I needed to get their attention. I needed to be visible.

"You make things float by touching them with all five fingers."

Does that include me? I tried putting all five fingers on my arm, and felt myself starting to float. It felt a bit diseaing, almost nauseating. There was a flagpole nearby. I grabbed onto it, and shouted,

"Hey!"

They were turning to look at me.

"Look, that villain - she got me too! I don't remember much, but listen - the pro heroes are looking for her, and they're going to get her. Once they do, her quirk will wear off. Until then, we need to stay calm. I promise - I'm scared too - but I believe in them. We're gonna be ok, I promise. Because - becausewe are here!"

Everyone had stopped panicking, and looked a bit calmer. I put my fingertips together, like the girl had told me, and felt myself drop. It was a little jarring, but it seemed like the boots were built to catch me.

The crowd followed my directions into the hospital. I breathed out a little relief. Suddenly, I heard someone clapping behind me. I turned. A woman in a cloak, with a hood on, was walking towards me.

"Well, that wasquitea speech, hero,"she smirked. "Faking amnesia to calm them down, clever."

"I'm not faking," I told her. "But you should know. You're that villain, aren't you?"

"Guilty. I don't really choose whose mind I take. It's just luck of the draw. A nice little random eraser on a busy blackboard." She smiled up at me. She had a strangely bland face, kind of a face you'd forget easily. "It's a kindness, really. Our memories torture us, hold us prisoner, make us miserable. If you can get rid of all that, you can be truly happy."

"Sorry, but I'm not feeling especially happy right now," I told her. "And even if I don't remember, I'm not gonna let you get away with this."

"What a cliche hero line. What are you going to do?"

I raised my hand and ran at her, prepared to float her. She dodged, on her guard now; she was glaring now.

"Careful. Who knows how many doctors in that hospital are operating right now - and won't be well off if they forget how to do surgery?"

I paused. Crap-

A pole came slamming down on the villain's head, wrapped in a tongue, knocking her down.

In a rush, it all came to me. Ochako Uraraka - mom - dad, Deku, Tsu, Ryukyu...

I let out a breath of relief as Tsu tied up the villain, with. cops pulling in behind her. "Ochako, do you -"

"Yeah, I remember. Guess her quirk only works as long as she's conscious."

"Thought I told you to bunker down," she scolded, but she was smiling.

"I meant to, but she was causing too much chaos out here. Guess the hero instinct doesn't go away."

"Let's join the others and get the last one."

I told her the story as we hurried through the town. She shook her head. "You're pretty brave, Ochako-chan."

I was thoughtful. What was getting me was-

"Ochako-chan, what is it?"

"What really made them stop was - was me saying I had it too," I admitted to her. "They were freaking out, but hearing I couldn't - that made them stop."

"Huh, that's weird," said Tsu.

"Maybe it's not," I said. "Maybe - maybe it helps people to know."

"To know what?"

"That we're not invincible."
