Chapter 313

Hiccups POV:

It's been a week since we arrived in Gaul and took care of the mansions of the gods while also getting the Gaul's back into the village and back to being Gaul's who enjoyed a quiet life hunting boars and thumping Romans. Since then, things have mostly been peaceful with my family just enjoying some down time and taking in the Gaulish life of hunting boars and beating the romans. We'd also taken the time to introduce Hunter to everyone and when I revealed why I didn't bring him the last few times I came to visit, my dear aunt Impedimenta dragged me into her hut and gave me a stern talking to while Uncle Vitalstatistix gave me a lecture. Seriously, halfway through their chats, I was ready to jump into the ocean and swim back to Berk to avoid hearing the rest of their words of discipline and wisdom. As punishment though, they had me go and watch over Getafix while he gathered herbs for an upcoming druid conference where they'd vote on the druid of the year and had the old druid give me another lecture on the importance of waiting for marriage. When we got back, I was ready to scream out to the gods but fortunately my wives knew how to calm me down with some loving touches and some calming words whispered into my ear.

Despite all this, I was truly grateful of one thing and that was how they all welcomed Hunter with open arms, especially Obelix when he found out how good he and Havard were at tracking boars in the forest since it cut down the time he had to wait for lunch and dinner. Still though, whenever Hunter and I were together, we'd receive looks from the people and hear various whispers about how I got his mother pregnant while drunk, how it took me so long to take responsibility for my son, how it's good to see how he's such a hardworking young man despite the absence of a father for the majority of his life and more that made my blood boil. With all this going on, we all agreed I needed some time away from the village and the looks the Gaul's were giving me which is something Getafix noticed and asked me to take him to the druid conference in the forest of Carnutes. This was a request I was all too happy to oblige since it would give me some time to just enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside without the looks or whispers of gossip I constantly had to put up with in the village.

Earlier today, I said goodbye to my family and went onto the road with Getafix, quietly walking while enjoying the fresh air and although flying would have gotten us there sooner, Getafix claimed walking was better since it gave him the chance to enjoy the countryside and also the possibility of running into other druids along the way. This was proven when we ran into one named Valuaddetax who also happened to be a friend of Getafix's who joined us on our walk and at first things were peaceful until we had a run in with some roadside bandits. I made short work of them though, but all the noise attracted a Roman patrol who thought we were a bunch of ruffians having a go at each other before Getafix stepped forward and explained to them what was going on since during the conference there was a truce. Still though, the Romans needed proof that Getafix and Valuaddetax were druids so Valuaddetax offered them some herbs while asking one of the legionaries to eat them and then say something. When the legionary spoke though, he brayed like a donkey which made all of us burst out in laughter and proved that they were druids before we handed the bandits over to the Romans and continued on our way.

When we reached the outskirts of the forest of Carnutes, Getafix and Valuaddetax went in while I was told to wait outside and figured I should make myself comfortable since the conference would last until the day after tomorrow. Knowing this I set up a camp site with my tent being brought out, set up along with a fire pit outside and of course releasing Toothless from my shadow who as always, was happy to be free to fly again. Once he was out, we went on a quick flight and grabbed a boar along the way for lunch before we headed back to camp so we could get to work on preparing it. This brings us to now, with Toothless laying on the ground and me lying against him while smoking my dragon pipe as the boar cooked and let my mind wonder to what was going on at the conference since it sounded like they were having a good time which made me wonder what they were doing in there. I shrugged knowing I'd have to ask Getafix what happened at the conference since from what he told me, they mostly just chat, share ideas and demonstrate what their magic can do. As I lay there though, I couldn't help but think back to the village and wonder how it was going back there with Hunter since I knew he wasn't going to have an easy time with the gossip that was going around about me and his mother. I sighed while thinking about how I do regret not being there for him when he was growing up, but his mother never told me about him and if she did, I would have married her on the spot or at the very least moved them both to my island. I was brought out of my thoughts by a croon of concern and nudge from Toothless, but I just smiled and rubbed his head and said.

"I'm fine bud, just thinking of the family." He growled and nodded as I sat up to begin taking the boar off the fire to start eating.

Back at the village

Hunters POV:

It's been a few hours since dad took off with Getafix and since then I've had to deal with a lot of headaches in the village thanks to the gossip that flows around so quickly in a small village. Honestly, it was like they didn't even realize that me and the rest of the family were able to hear everything that was going on around us about how they thought dad wasn't a good father because he wasn't around for my younger years, how my mom was a loose woman for being bedded before marriage and more. What's more, whenever they saw me just walking Havard they'd look at me with such pity and whisper about how it was sad that my only companion was a wolf and how my step siblings left me alone like that. Honestly, is it so strange that a guy likes to take his wolf out for a walk on his own to do some thinking or that I prefer to hunt alone with just him since we worked well together. What's worse is that they have no idea how wrong they are about everything, including how my father is since I don't blame him for not being there when I was younger since mom never told him about me and he's done his best to make it up to me while my new family had welcomed me with open arms.

This is why I was now out in the forest with Havard, hunting a few wild boars and was now on the trail of some with Havard leading the way with his own abilities to track them down. Sadly, this time with my wolf didn't help relieve my annoyance at the village of gossips which is ruled by the husbands of one of my distant relatives and that same distant relative who would sometimes join in the gossip. I was brought out of my thoughts by someone calling out.

"Hello Hunter, mind if we join you on your hunt for boars." I turned to see Asterix and Obelix walking up with Dogmatix at their sides but I'm guessing my annoyance showed since Asterix asked. "Is something wrong Hunter?" I sighed knowing it'd be pointless to hide it.

"I'm fine Asterix, just annoyed with all the gossip that's going around in the village about me, my dad, my mom and our family in general." Obelix replied to this, saying.

"Reminds me of the time the Romans tried that psychological warfare on us." I raised an eyebrow as Asterix smiled.

"You're right about that Obelix, it does seem familiar to that time." He turned to me. "Come on Hunter, we'll tell you all about it while we hunt down some boars." I smiled and nodded before we took off after Havard who'd gotten the scent of one.

Nightfall

I was sitting at the dinner table with my mothers, siblings and relatives while enjoying a leg of roast boar that Aunt Impedimenta had made for dinner while going over the events of my day after running into Asterix and Obelix. Turns out I'm not the only one who'd had issues due to gossip as it had caused its fair share of issues in the village, especially when a Roman came by and gave Asterix a vase claiming it was for the most important man in the village. That had caused all sorts of issues in the village with people believing Asterix was siding with the Romans and had given them the secret to the magic potion which caused a panic in the village even though it was all a trick. It all worked out in the end though with Asterix, giving the Roman the vase back while claiming it was pay for all his help and that it was all a trick he planned which got him sent back to Rome to face punishment for being a traitor. (AN: Asterix and the Roman Agent) I knew I wouldn't be able to do anything about the gossip since as Asterix put it, people would believe what they want to believe so it's best to just ignore it. Still though, I was looking forward to my dad getting back since he at least helped make things more bearable as he was also the victim of the various gossips around the village.

1 day later

Hiccups POV:

The druid conference was over with Getafix walking away with the golden menhir to show he'd won druid of the year and now we were on our way back to the village after we parted ways with Valuaddetax who was kind enough to approve of my request and gave me some of the herbs he gave the legionary which I intended to use to prank my father or the Jorgenson's. I had to say, I was looking forward to getting back to the village and seeing my family again since the countryside was nice but while waiting outside the forest for the conference to end, there wasn't much to do other than train and ride Toothless. We were forced to only fly around the field though since it was forbidden for us to see what happens at the conference and I didn't want to risk unintentionally breaking that rule and we couldn't fly too far from the campsite incase bandits saw it and tried to rob us. Still though, the walk back to the village was nice since it gave me and Getafix a chance to talk with him telling me of all the incredible new creations the druids had come up with and I had to say, I could use some of them. I was brought out of my thoughts when the village came into sight and it made me smile as Getafix turned to me and said.

"It is good to travel, but always wonderful to return home." I smiled and nodded.

"Truer words have never been said Getafix." I looked at the village ahead with a smile. "Do you think anything happened in the short time we've been gone?"

"Hard to say as interesting things have happened from time to time while I've been at the conference such as one time a fake soothsayer came by and convinced everyone to abandon the village." I raised an eyebrow.

"Really?" He nodded.

"Quite a tale that is which I will have to share with you sometime." I nodded as I we began to approach the gate, surprisingly passing a fat Roman with black hair that covered the sides of his head, a big red nose, wearing a red cape and a green legionary tunic with a Z cut into it, but before we could figure out what he was here for, the familiar voice of my eldest blood son cried out.

"DAD, GETAFIX!" We looked ahead and saw Hunter running towards us with his three eldest siblings behind him. "You're both finally back." We nodded as he reached us.

"Yeah, we're back but who was the Roman who just walked past us?" Brant, Chara and Egil reached up before Egil replied.

"Come inside and we'll explain everything since it's a bit of a long story." We nodded and followed them in as I looked at Getafix and asked.

"Why do I get the feeling we just walked into a big mess of issues?" He just shook his head while rubbing his beard.

"I have a feeling we're about to find out."

Nightfall

Night had fallen over the village and that was something I was truly grateful for since after today, it was nice to just kiss each of my little ones goodnight and then lay down in bed with my wives at my sides which always relaxed me after a long day. The reason why is after we got back, my kids took me and Getafix to Asterix who explained that it started when a man named Orthopaedix and his family which consisted of his wife Angina and their daughter Influenza came to the village. Orthopaedix claimed that the village belonged to him and showed a marble slab with Caesars seal on it declaring that the owner of the slab owned the land which got a good laugh from everyone since Caesar didn't own the village. Following that Angina revealed they sold their inn to move to the village and how they originally lived in Lutetia but left due to Orthopaedix having issues with his in-laws which were the same issues Uncle Vitalstatistix had with his own. It was because of this Uncle Vitalstatistix offered them compensation in the form of an abandoned hut where they could set up a new inn but the opening night resulted in a fight between Aunt Impedimenta and Angina which somehow evolved into a full out brawl.

The following day Uncle Vitalstatistix was told that Orthopaedix intended to become the new chief of the village which is when things really kicked off with their wives doing things to get the villagers to vote for their husbands. Have to say they really went all out with them ordering tons of anvils from Automatrix and fish from Unhygienix while also complimenting the wives on things. When I asked about the Roman who left village, he claims that he heard screaming from the inn and when he confronted the Roman who had sword in hand, he sent him running but was concerned about something he said about his rights. When he questioned the family about them Angina claimed that he was just an old drunk soak but Asterix felt there was more to it and so did I which is why after that, I went to talk to the family myself.

They seemed nice enough and were definitely respectful to me since they'd heard of me not just from the village but also from those who were present during my first trip to Lutetia where I took down multiple bandits. (AN: Chapter 230) This earned me a lot of respect from them but sadly, it also earned me a lot of requests like how my opinion could help Orthopaedix get more votes and how I'd be well rewarded for it when he's chief. I made it clear to them that I was going to remain neutral in this entire thing before requesting to see the marble slab which supposedly gave them this village. Seeing that it was not fake since I recognized Caesars seal, I sent a letter to him asking what the heck this was all about and had yet to get a reply which was understandable since he was a busy man but I felt that he had the answers that would end this craziness. After I sent off the letter though, things got worse with Getafix refusing to make the magic potion since some wanted to use it to throw Orthopaedix and his family out. With all these memories in my head, I could only hope that Caesar would send a letter to help clear things up and at least make things easier for all of us. With this in mind I drifted off to sleep while hoping the gods would hear my prayers and help me keep my sanity if this craziness lasted any longer.

Morning

Morning had come and with it came a new round of headaches since Getafix had plain out refused to make any more magic potion, especially when Uncle Vitalstatistix requested some for his voters. After all this craziness, Uncle Vitalstatistix and Orthopaedix had agreed to a public debate in front of the whole village to decide who'd be the chief. Remaining neutral in this conflict, my family and I chose to remain inside the carriage and pass the time with games I carry in the carriage to help on long trips except for Hunter who had chosen to meditate since he wanted to catch up to his adopted siblings in training. Presently, I was enjoying a quiet game of Maces and Talons with my opponent being Brant who was staring at me as I planned my next move, but I was interrupted by the sound of Chara calling out.

"Dad, message for you from the cat statue." I smiled and looked at Brant as I stood up from my seat.

"Be right back son." He nodded and examined the board while I went and got the letter from my messanger cat and smiled when I saw it was from Caesar before returning to my seat. "A letter from Caesar, maybe now we can get some answers." Egil who was with Hunter, meditating sighed.

"Finally, I was beginning to wonder if he'd ever reply." Chiaki then walked in from the kitchen holding two bowls of nuts that would serve as snacks for all of us.

"So, what does it say Hiccup." I unrolled the paper and read.

Dear Hiccup

I am sorry for the inconvenience this trick has caused you and your family for you see, I gave the village to a legionary who'd just completed his twenty-year service. The reason he'd been given this village specifically was because in the twenty years he's been in the Roman army, he's been nothing but an old wineskin who the centurion claims never been sober and was arrested for slandering Caesar the night before his discharge. He was given the village in the hopes he'd be given a thrashing by the Gauls but clearly that plan has gone astray in the form of him selling Caesars gift of land without which is also an insult to Caesar. Caesar shall send orders for his arrest to you, that I request that you give them to the centurion of one of the camps and they shall take care of his arrest and arrange for him to return to Rome where he shall be properly punished.

Caesar

When I finished reading the letter I looked up everyone and smiled as I said.

"Well, I think we now know who that roman who left the village was and why this whole mess started." Everyone nodded as I stood up. "Better get this to a Centurion and then maybe we'll have a better chance of getting things back to normal in this village or at least what passes for normal in this village." Before anyone could reply, the sound of wood shattering and loud thuds came from outside. "Everybody, stay here and keep your weapons out." Everyone nodded and got ready for a fight as I left the carriage and looked up to see boulders raining down on the village right before Asterix and Obelix began running past. "What's going on?" Asterix stopped and turned to me while Obelix continued to run after Dogmatix.

"The romans are attacking with catapults, a siege tower and battering rams." I nodded and jumped from the carriage door.

"Will the other villager be coming with magic potion filled punches soon?" He smiled and nodded.

"Think you can help me and Obelix keep the romans happy while he prepares the potion?" I released my nemean lion gauntlets.

"With pleasure." We charged towards the gate just as the battering ram broke through and slammed into Obelix who pushed it back while looking for Dogmatix and joined in the fight.

10 minutes later

The fight was over, the romans siege weapons were shattered including the siege tower, the majority of the legionaries had retreated and not only had Orthopaedix smashed the tablet on the drunk's head but so had a legionary he tried to convince him to fight which leads us to now. With me walking up to the centurion with Caesars orders to arrest the drunk in hand and when he saw me coming, he stood firm as he said.

"You gauls have already won the battle so know that there would be no honor in harming a defeated enemy." I nodded.

"Actually, I just got this letter from Rome, I believe you're going to want to read it as it is from Caesar who asked me to give it to one of the camps centurions." I passed him the arrest orders before he nodded and turned to the legionary who had hit the drunk in the head.

"Optio, bring that drunk criminal back to camp and we shall have him shipped back to Rome." The optio nodded and picked up the drunk before dragging him away while I smiled and turned to Asterix.

"I don't know about you, but I have the feeling that this whole event is going to end with a feast beneath the stars." He smiled at me.

"I think your right."

8 days later

It's been a week since the battle which as expected, ended with a large feist under the stars while Orthopaedix decided to return with his family to Lutetia and tell his in-laws all about this adventure. Aunt Impedimenta then recommended her, and uncle Vitalstatistix join them since it would give her the chance to visit her brother and his wife which uncle Vitalstatistix wasn't too big on the idea which was understandable considering his relationship with him. Still though, this did offer me an opportunity since I had been hoping to set up a new business near if not within Lutetia to help me gather information on things and help me clear out my storeroom of old stuff like silverware, carpets, small statues, materials and other stuff I couldn't really use and didn't fit in with my house. Mainly just stuff I'd gotten from attacking various attacks on bandit camps and pirate ships or other things, so I just needed a place to sell them for some money. I didn't start on this by working with uncle Homeopathix since I could always see the greed in his eyes whenever he looked at my dragons or saw some of the items I'd brought from other places.

This is why during the feast, I'd offered to help Orthopaedix open an inn in Lutetia, but he told me that it'd do no good since there were more inns in Lutetia than anyone could count since it was such a huge trade city which attracted tourists like bees to honey. Fortunately, last night I'd shown illusions of some items I had in my storeroom, and he knew they'd be perfect for him to sell and with how Lutetia was a place made to pretty much be a marketplace for the wealthy, he'd make a fortune. The more we talked about it and his past business dealings though, we came up with the idea for him to open a roadside inn where travelers could stay which would double as a restaurant and would have a store connected to it. This way he'd be able to stick to what he's good at when it comes to business and since it wasn't uncommon for people to travel through the night to get to Lutetia due to fear of bandits, business would be good since with it, travelers wouldn't have to travel all night. As for the store, that would help draw more people in and maybe save a few people a trip to Lutetia since they often go there for various foreign goods. Uncle Vitalstatistix was all for this idea since when he and Aunt Impedimenta travelled to Lutetia they'd often camp in the forest at night, and this would make things more comfortable for them.

After that we began discussing the designs for it using a little input from the villagers including Asterix and Obelix and we were able to visualize things a little easier using my illusion spider. As for location, we'd chosen a spot that wasn't too close to Lutetia but was also a meeting point where various roads from different places meet so it was a good spot to set up the inn as business would be pouring in.

As for merchandise that would be sold at the restaurant, I intended to have some snake guardians stationed there as waiters and cooks since some knew how to cook various dishes from different cultures, so it was bound to draw in more customers. The store on the other hand would have a large variety of things since my storage room has multiple items so it would hold carpets, statues, charms, materials, toys for the kids, weapons made of gronkle iron and snacks for long trips all supplied by me. As for the profits made from this business, Orthopaedix and I had agreed to split the profits equally with each of us receiving half the profits at the end of each month. With all this figured out, all we'd need to figure out is where we'd get the building materials and fortunately, Asterix and Obelix agreed to come with and help build the building and with the help of the magic potion, we'd have it built in a week at most.

When morning came, we went about gathering resources for the construction from Obelix's quarry and the forest, placing them all in my spiderpack before we took off to the spot where the inn would be placed. We all wanted to get there fast so Orthopaedix allowed his family and their horse to be placed in my shadow alongside Asterix, Obelix and Dogmatix while their wagon was placed in my spiderpack and Orthopaedix would fly with me on Toothless to point out the place where the inn would be. We arrived at the spot in half an hour and as soon as I released everyone, we got to work, uprooting the trees, unloading the building materials, going over the plans and everything else needed to make the buildings.

Four days later the building was complete, and it was an impressive piece of work with it being a stone building with three floors making up the inn, restaurant, shop and home for Orthopaedix and his family while another one-story building that served as the stables where travelers could keep their chariots, wagons and horses. The restaurant was a typical gaulish restaurant with tables, benches and a bar which had barrels of beer on shelves at the back of it and on the right side was the entrance to the kitchen. The kitchen had walls lined with tables, a large fireplace at the back with three cauldrons to cook food, hooks to hang meat, a shelf to hold vegetables and a rack on the wall for the various tools to prepare the food. In the corner though was a trap door which led to the basement I dug using my mystic spade which was a large space that went all the way under the building and stables with numerous shelves and racks lining the walls for the wines and beers. At the back though, I'd set up a cold room for storing the meats like wild boar and fish so they wouldn't go bad fast, and it'd save us a bit of money. Outside at the front was a patio with stone flooring with a few tables set up so people would be able to enjoy a good meal under the stars if they wished.

On the left side of the bar was a door leading to a stone stairway that led to the upper floors which is where the bedrooms were. All the bedrooms were the same with a window looking outside, one to two beds, tapestries decorating the walls, animal pelts on the floor next to the beds, a side table against the back wall next to the bed with a candle on top of it. The mattresses on the beds were stuffed with straw while the pillows were stuffed with alpaca fur and the blankets were also made of alpaca fur. The third floor had half as many rooms as the second one though since half of it made up the domestic home of Orthopaedix and his family with it having two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. When someone walks in, they're first greeted by the living room with the right side having a curtain leading to the kitchen and at the back were two doors leading to the bedrooms.

The living room was nice with a few torches on the walls, some furniture like clines, chairs, a table in the middle, a bookshelf, a carpet I'd brought with me that was for the store and some statues lining the walls including a messenger cat statue. The kitchen though had tables lining the walls, tools on racks and some baskets to hold fruit and vegetables and a cauldron over a stone firepit. The bedrooms were like the one's downstairs but a bit bigger and had cupboards against the left or right wall depending on the room, windows looking out onto the street and a reflective shield hung up on the wall.

On the right side of the restaurant on the ground floor was the shop with various shelves holding small statues and other items while against the left wall was a rack holding various types of gronkle iron weapons and armor, at the back were carpets and paintings, on the right wall were tables holding various types of fruits and snacks for long trips. At the front by the medium sized wall was the counter where people could pay for their items and ask the one on duty whatever they want to know. After the building was constructed, we began working on stocking everything which took a full day which wasn't too bad and the following day, both the inn and store were opened with the snake guardians I picked ready to help however they could. A day later uncle Vitalstatistix and aunt Impedimenta arrived on their way to Lutetia and wanting to see how the new inn looked, and I am happy to say that they were not the first nor the last ones to arrive that day nor were they the last ones or the only ones to rent a room for the evening.

Besides that, a letter from Caesar arrived, informing me about what happened to the drunk idiot who caused the entire mess with his joke gift of the village. He'd spent a day in the dungeon before Caesar gave him a job of stocking water for a year which brought the drunk to tears as he begged to be fed to the lions since he couldn't stand any contact with water. I wasn't surprised though since that was how it was for a lot of bad wineskins who did nothing but drink wine all day and not much else which kept them drunk. I couldn't help but chuckle at his description of the old drunks' pleas as he was dragged away to endure his punishment for the whole mess he'd caused. From what Caesar has been told by those who were assigned to keep an eye on him, he didn't go a single hour let alone a day without tearing up in disgust and pain and he'd even pass out if a single drop of water touched his skin. I had to say, it was a truly fitting punishment for a sad drunk who had spent most of his life doing nothing but drinking and not putting any thought into his actions.

The following day, we went to Lutetia and after arriving and parting with Orthopaedix who went with his family to visit the in laws with a large smile knowing that it would be fun to look at his brother-in-laws face when he told them about his adventure in Gaul and his new business. As for me and my family which included my relatives went to meet Uncle Homeopathix and aunt tapioca who were overjoyed to see us again and brought us in for dinner. We'd sat down at the table while introducing the new members of the family including Hunter and the little ones who were taken to a guest room and were laid down on the bed for the night while we all enjoyed dinner. As expected, Uncle Homeopathix showed little respect to uncle Vitalstatistix and again asked me about possibly joining his business ventures since his business had expanded to another city. He was not happy when I turned him down and even more upset when aunt Impedimenta told him that I'd already started another business venture that was looking to be very profitable. He calmed down when I quickly explained that I didn't want to partner up with him since it would feel too much like I was stealing from him by jumping onto his success instead of starting my own business.

This earned a nod of understanding from him before he told me that he could respect that and when I told him what the business idea was and where it was located, he slapped his forehead claiming he felt like an idiot for not thinking of something like that himself. When he heard about Orthopaedix and who is brother-in-law was he laughed so hard he fell off his chair surprising all of us until Aunt Tapioca explained that Orthopaedix brother-in-law was his biggest business rival and was one of the most arrogant men in Lutetia. Apparently, he started young being born and raised in Lutetia with his business being inherited from his family while Uncle Homeopathix started with a single store and built things up from there. Hearing how his brother-in-law who he believed would never amount to anything which is something he made clear to anyone who'd listen, has made a business that's looking to be very profitable would shut him up for a bit while also dealing a blow to his ego.

After dinner, we returned to the inn where we met with Orthopaedix who was at the bar with a big smile on his face and the moment he saw me his smile widened as he raised his hands and laughed while welcoming us back. He poured me a beer and told me to pull up a chair so he could tell me all that happened when he met his in-laws again and how good it felt to finally show them up. When he showed a small sliver of the profits he brought with him, apparently his brother-in-law's jaw dropped so far, he thought it'd hit the floor since it was more than he made in three days. Along with that, when he found out I was his business partner and supplier, he literally fainted in shock since it turns out that he was one of the merchants who wanted me to join them in their business ventures and failed to even meet me. When he came to, he demanded Orthopaedix introduce him to me and convince me to help join him in his own business ventures and open a few new trade routes but refused and made it clear that I had no interest in doing business with him. He did warn me to keep my guard up since he intended to drop by the inn from time to time in the hopes of catching me and getting the chance to talk to me. That is why at the crack of dawn the next day, we returned to the village using my carriage after bidding goodbye to our friends and setting up a portal door at the back of the building on a large boulder that was set up there.

Now we were back in the village while enjoying a feast beneath the stars which was to celebrate the return of their chief and to say goodbye to both me and my family who would be returning home to our island tomorrow morning. As I sat at the table and clinked my wine filled horn with Uncle Vitalstatistix's horn, but my mind kept wondering to how much has happened on this trip from knocking sense into the Gauls who'd been turned into Romans to helping start up a business in Lutetia. I admit, this had been one of my more pleasant adventures, mainly because I didn't have to go up against any threats of the magic kind, just Gauls and Romans being idiots who needed a good punch up and I knew my dad was going to have a laugh when he heard about it. I took a sip from my drink and thought about the new business and knew that it would help me turn a lot of items into gold which would be more helpful in the future when I needed the currency and help me clear out my storerooms. It would also give me a way to gather information about what's happening around Berk since people do say a lot of things when they think nobody is listening and the snake guardians, I'd posted there were trained in information gathering by me and my ninja. This would hopefully allow Lutetia's guards have an easier time in the future involving future attacks on the city since bandits would most likely come to the inn thinking it's a good place to have a meal and chat about future plans. Speaking of future plans, I'm not sure what plans I should make for my future other than coming up with ways to improve life for the residents of New Berk, training to be the next chief, being a good father and husband, visiting my allies when I'm needed or just want to see them and more. In other words, I don't know what the future holds but I knew with the tools at my disposal and my family behind me, I could take on whatever the world throws at me.

AN: And another chapter done with another secret outpost formed in the form of an Inn, restaurant and shop with snake guardians serving as the spies. What happens next has yet to be decided, seriously I haven't decided what idea I'll use for the next chapter so if you have any requests for where he goes next, let me know and I'll see what I cand do. With that said, remember to review and have a nice day.
