Izuku raced past a rack of Halloween costumes. There was a clown, a cowboy, Mr. Potato Head, Wolverine- ah hah! He yanked a Deku costume off the rack. He tugged at the sleeves, checked out the crotch.
At the register, a twenty dollar bill landed on the counter. Izuku stood in front of the clerk, now in the Deku costume.
"Can I wear it home?" He asked.

The glass elevator was still rising, up above the city, and up, and up, toward the roof of the building.
Reiko looked at Shoto, who stared back at her.
"Who is he?" Shoto snarled.
"What?" Reiko replied.
"You're in love with someone else," Shoto growled at her.
"I've got a right to know who it is."
"Shoto, for God's-" Reiko tried.
Shoto cried, "WHO IS HE?"
He reached out and pushed the STOP button. The elevator jerked to a halt, sixty floors above the street.
Inside the elevator machinery, the big greasy wheel stopped turning, the cable stretched tight. Next to it, the red light on the pumpkin bomb continued to tick.
Outside the glass elevator, Miko looked in at Shoto and Reiko, who were arguing. From off in the distance, she heard a high-pitched whining that was growing closer.
Shoto and Reiko heard it and turn sharply. Miko followed their gaze.
The fog, thick as cake frosting, suddenly parts, billowing around Endeavor, atop his Glider! He banked, came to an
impossible stop just outside the elevator.
Shoto and Reiko stared in shock and horror. Endeavor cackled, pulled a remote control device from his Goblin bag, and flipped up the cover. A red button glowed on its panel
"Goodbye, children! Time to throw you from the nest!" He pressed the button.
Inside the elevator machinery the glowing red light on the bomb went steady, it beeped-The cable snapped, went whirling and snapping up the shaft like a wild snake.
SNAP!
Through the glass wall, Shoto and Reiko could see right into the elevator shaft, where the severed cable raced past them, untethering the elevator.
They screamed-hung there for a second like Wile E. Coyote-and then plummeted.
Endeavor screeched with glee; and then—Miko to the rescue! But was her telekinesis strong enough to hold up the elevator and bring it to a safe landing?
No, she could barely hold it in place, she needed—
The Amazing Deku swung in splatted to a stop on the side of the TodoCorp Building, near the base. He looked up, saw the elevator hovering, about to fall, toward him.
He crawled to the machinery panel atop the elevator works. SMASH! He punched through the glass, reached into the machine room, grabbed hold of the loose cable as it flew by!
Miko slumped to the ground. "Thank goodness! Good Job Deku!"
"They…aren't…saved yet!" Deku shot her an irritated look as he groaned in pain, wrapped both hands around the cable and fell back to the ground, but still it whizzed through his hands!
Endeavor roared down the building, atop his Glider, screaming in anger. "NO!"
As Miko lifter her hands to help with her quirk, Endeavor snarled and knocked her to the ground kicking her. "Stay OUT of this, interloper! This is between me and Deku!"
"MIKO!" Deku had no time to save her, for Still, the elevator plummeted! Shoto and Reiko had gone weightless,
they're plastered against the ceiling!
"Save…my sister…" Miko whispered as Deku looked between them, agonized.
"I promise." Deku swore, heartfelt as he squeezed the cable as hard as he could. Blood seeped through his gloves. He was in agony!
Endeavor opened fire, releasing half a dozen small black winged objects into the air. They swarmed over Deku, buzzing and beeping horribly.
Deku was forced to take one hand off the cable, to try and swat them away. He reached out and snared one, but he immediately released it, shouted in pain.
"Do you like my razor bats?" Endeavor grinned.
The razor bats swarmed around Deku, slashing his skin and costume. But he was forced to put both hands back on the cable, to try and abate the elevator's deadly plunge! He looked up- it was only a hundred feet above, and still dropping!
"Would you like to meet the rest?!" Endeavor asked.
He turned the Bag inside out, releasing another half dozen.
Deku was surrounded, and slowly being cut to ribbons. Desperate, he leapt up into the sky, through the black swarm that is slowly killing him.
"Hang on, hang on!" Deku cried. He squeezed even tighter.
The elevator approached at breakneck speed!
Endeavor reaches into his bag again, pulled out a pumpkin bomb, while putting a boot down on Miko making her scream out, causing Deku even more pain, but instead, the heroine bit her tongue and glared at Endeavor. Furious, he pulled a hand back, to throw the bomb. "Now I'll kill them, hero! Your resistance is their demise!"
The hand started forward-but wass stopped in mid-air, grabbed-by a scarred, burned hand!
