This morning I laid on the futon. I didn't get up. Rin came in the living room and shook me.

"Get up, Lia!" he yelled.

"Uuugh…" I muttered. "I…I'm staying home."

"Fine, do what you want," Rin said. "But that means I'm gonna have to stay, too."

"What? Why?" I asked.

"You don't expect me to trust Mephisto to look after you," he replied.

I grinned. Rin sat down next to the futon. "So…do you remember anything?"

"I remember at the church," I said. "I admired you because you were so strong."

"You…admired me?" Rin blushed.

"Huh?" I said, then I blushed. "Uh…yeah."

He didn't say anything. I finally broke the silence. "Kyo…what happened to us?"

"You mean you still don't remember?" he asked.

The door opened suddenly. Yukio stepped in. "I heard you were sick, Lia. Are you skipping again?"

"Yeah…" I muttered.

"Why are you dragging Rin into this?" Yukio said. "I don't think Mephisto wants you involving him in your problems."

"Whatever," I said, gritting my teeth. It was hard to deny Mephisto. I remembered that I used to do it, and well. But how? It didn't make sense…

"What do you want with her, Yukio?" Rin said irritably.

"She's been summoned. Mephisto wants to see her," replied Yukio. "Be at the office on Thursday."

Yukio left.

"Are you going?" Rin asked softly.

I smiled faintly. "Do I have a choice?"
