Kuri headed out to the battle trial with Deku. "Brother don't be nervous." She squeezed his hand, enraging Bakugo, who was watching. "You can do it." With that she took off to protect the weapon.

Deku knew Bakugo was watching, and that he was totally pissed after seeing all that! He groaned. "Sis why'd you have to…shit…"

Bakugo glared at Deku and headed inside after Reiko, who just sighed, knowing those two were about to blow everything—literally.

The two girls were in standoff in the weapons room, when a huge blast caught their attention.

"Zu's gonna be ok right?" Kuri asked her friend worriedly.

"Yeah…I think so…" But even Reiko looked concerned. "Bro's angry though, I don't think it will end well…"

But Kuri was already gone.

Xxx

Bakugo growled and stormed over to Deku.

"Kacchan I know your pissed at me but…" Deku punched him hard. "Stop checking out my sister!"

"I'll do what I fucking want Deku! And you don't get to tell me what to do!" Bakugo exploded him.

"Izuku!" Kuri cried, flying in. "Enough Kat! You're hurting him! Binding feathers!" Kuri's feathers protected him.

"Sis stay out Kacchan isn't going easy!" Deku cried, alarmed.

Bakugo, not listening, blasted deku again, growling as Reiko reached for the bomb, about to win.

Suddenly Kuri screamed. "Aaaaah! Oh god it hurts! She collapsed as the fight ended. "Katsuki why?! I-I thought you'd—" She fainted.

"Kacchan…her feathers…you-you wouldn't listen to me…" Deku said in shock.

"What?" Bakugo was horrified, looking at his smoking hands. "But…I didn't …."

Deku pulled Kuri into his arms, unknowingly making it worse. "Hang in there Kuri. I'll get you help. Your wings…they'll be ok."

The shell shocked students were taken to the infirmary. Strangely, there was absolutely nothing wrong with Kuri. Reiko puzzled over that, turning a feather over in her hand, holding it on the end and twirling it.

Kuri woke up to see Reiko's face. "Oh? Hi. You look…contemplative… why are you holding my feather like that…by the tip? It's weird. I can't sense anything…give it back! Kuri snatched it.

"So I was right!" Reiko grinned.

"Aboooout?" Deku smiled, his cute face inches from Reiko's.

Reiko blushed and stepped back. "A-about her feathers. I-I put one on you…"

Deku's face drained of color.

Both Midoriya siblings cried at the same time. "Does Kacchan know?!"

"He does now…" Reiko pointed.

Bakugo stormed in.

"Ehhh!" Kuri shrank back reflexively at his anger, cuz she was just hurt.

"Don't scare her Kacchan!" Deku cried protectively.

"Why didn't you fucking tell me?" Bakugo snarled.

"Cuz we didn't know! And it's still your fault it was MY pain she felt!" Deku yelled back, grabbing Reiko and pulling her off. "APOLOGIZE!"

Kuri misunderstood, apologizing quickly. "I'm very sorry Katsuki."

Bakugo stared at her in shock. "The fuck are you apologizing for?!"

"Cuz brother said! A-and I caused you unnecessary emotional pain!" Kuri bowed her head. "I'm very sorry."She meant it, knowing he had been crying.

"I'm fine…ya don't need to fucking apologize…." Bakugo said softly.

"Yeah I do. I was mean to you." Kuri said gently. "It's my fault…I deserved what I got."

"You don't deserve to get fucking hurt!" Bakugo shouted angrily.

Kuri's eyes widened. "…neither do you."

"Shut up." Bakugo growled.

Kuri held out a feather. "Here."

"What are you giving me this for?"

"If you have one, then I'll feel you instead, no matter who Reiko puts a feather on. It's a master feather. I-I can't grow another one, so don't lose it. So even if you beat up my bro again—it won't hurt me. B-but that's not an excuse to blow up Zu! I mean…ano…" Kuri sighed, annoyed with herself for sounding so stupid.

"I can't take that….I'll just hurt you again." Bakugo mumbled.

"Katsuki." Kuri put it around his neck. "I trust you." She knew if he didn't take it now, if she couldn't soothe him…she'd lose him forever.

"Stop that." Bakugo said, tormented. "I don't fucking deserve this."

Kuri hugged. "You stop. Your gonna be a great hero right? Can't you protect my feather for me?"

She was stunned as he tried to pull away, and then sank against her shoulder, crying.

"Don't!" She hugged him harder, desperate. "Please…" Her voice broke.

Bakugo sighed and held her close.

"Katsuki…I didn't give my brother a master feather. I chose you. So please don't be sad anymore? I know you can keep one little feather safe! Your a hero! "

Bakugo let go and looked away, his ears turning red. "Shut up…" He mumbled shyly, and she knew from the feather he was finally ok.

Kuri beamed. "Your better!" She rose into the air a foot.

Bakugo snorted, amused.

"Oooh I wanna try somethin. Hold the feather and concentrate on me!" Kuri grinned excitedly.

"Why?" Bakugo groaned.

"I'm trying to get my quirk to send feelings to people. Like I could make a villain lose the will to fight! If it works." Kuri smiled at him.

Bakugo couldn't resist her. "Sure." He held the feather.

Suddenly he felt a rush of pure joy and grinned, laughing. "Wow! Your quirk is…kind awesome, Birdie."

Kuri grinned and did a flip in the air, laughing. "Glad you like it, oh great hero!"
