This is gonna be quite the short chapter for a post incident party so. Sorry for those who are genuinely expecting a long chapter
"So like what the hell are you going to do with these chicks? Cook them?"
"Nai! Nai!"
The descent down the mountain went as suspiciously smooth somehow, Reimu had been onguard for the past hours or so being on guard against the denizens as Kirby descended down the mountain with the nest in tow carrying the chicks. Needless to say the denizens watched them with wariness and such and the only things that attacked them were the stray Scarfies, sentient cannons here and there, and Gordos that drifted about.
It was a strange incident, but one that she should've known would end up this way knowing Kirby..
Right now they're somewhere in Peanut Plains, the mountain ranges alongside Dynablade's Nest seemingly is just not that far from where they are now and Kirby had just been dragging the nest for who knows how long.
"Ugh what now you puffball?"
Kirby had stopped moving the nest, positioning it underneath a Whispy Woods, these types of living woods that tend to hang around here and there. This one seemed way more content than the usual grumpy Woods..
Kirby looked back at Reimu and shined her a hand in the air while the Whispy looked at the chicks curiously
"Hup!"
Then he hopped into the crown of the living tree, grabbing ahold of the branches before he began to shake the crown furiously. The apples stationed ontop would begin to shake as their stems would break off, making it fall.
The Whispy didn't really expect this sequence of events as it displayed a shocked look with a closed mouth.
"Umph.." It muttered under it's breath "What is the pink gumdrop doing..?"
"I don't even know actually, and I just met him like hours ago." Reimu responded.
And then it started raining apples for the chicks, the latter enjoying the fruits that were being dropped for them.
The Whispy would blink at this series of events, oh so thats what the pink gumball was going for! To feed the birds.. But isn't it not their diet?
A Capiller would drop from Whispy's crown before falling into one of the mouths of the bird, the little chick enjoying the taste of said Capiller..
"Oh there it is" He mused
...
"Kirby?"
"Poyo?"
"Is.. Is this normal?"
The chicks have apparently went through a growth spurt, having gone through several changes such as a more defined wing and such. It's surprising, and it's just in a few hours too!
"Im guessing this is from the apples earlier, and it was because you kidnapped them" She spoke with a knowing face, seeing the growth spurth in plain view was rare really.
"Poy! Noy noy no!" He denied it was a kidnap, but by definition it IS one.
"Anyway.." She turned her head to the chicks who have already went out of their nests to explore the wider world around them on foot. "So whaddya want them to do?"
"Ohyu? Hmmmmm.." He borught a hand to his chin, rubbing it slowly before bringing it up into the air, an idea entering her head "Poh yo!"
"Oh really? Show it to me then.."
...
"So this is YOUR idea?"
Kirby had the gall to push the nest towards the nearest and largest cliff, a place right next to Candy Mountain. It was miles up in the sky and it was the perfect place for a bird to let go by flying really, and that was Kirby's plan.
"Poy! Poy poyo poy!" He explained to the chicks inside the nest who turned their heads to him, head tilted and all that..
"Poy poy poyoyo poy!" And he stepped back from the edge.. And then he ran and hopped off the cliff.
Reimu was flabbergasted.
Though later on Kirby would reveal himself once again, flapping his arms and all puffed upp, he gestured the birds to come and follow him.
The chicks, turned to each other and chatted, chirping and bickering until an agreement was reached..
One bird hopped off from the nest and towards the cliff, where it jumped and begin to flap his wings! The others followed suite with one somehow struggling to fly.
...oh
Kirby's gonna leave her here isn't it
"Oh you-"
And they've already started to fly away, how annoying!
"HEY DON'T LEAVE ME BEHIND!" She turned back and ran towards the ground where she started to follow the flying group from behind.
Despite her small stature and usually close nature to her shrine, she actually has some great stamina! Which is shown here when she started following the group of birds and puffball.
"Huh, whew.. So he can keep up with them? Haah.. Nice.."
She has to admit, it was nice seeing them fly in real time.. Especially..
Wait..
Oh no..
One would suddenly crash towards the ground, causing Reimu to check up on the crashed bird and see him inperson
"Hey little buddy, you okay?"
"Chirp.."
"Good to know" She nodded..
Their little conversation would be interrupted by Dynablade who had flown in to investigate and see what her little chicks were up to, seeing as Kirby was following them, she would fly up into the sky..
While Reimu and the chick watched in awe..
...
In the end, the other chick managed to fly again, with Reimu having to catch up with Kirby whom had landed on a nearby cliff.. She stopped for a moment tosee the end of the cliff, the view of the three birds following Dynablade from behind as the sunset illuminated the waters of the coast..
...it was beautiful
"BAAAAIIIIIII!" Kirby immediately waved at the bird, startling Reimu before she chuckled and waved at the birds too..
And they did this for a while.
"Aaanyway" She had to cut the waving part soon "How about we head back and check what the others are doing?"
"Hai!" He nodded.
...
"SURPRISE!"
"Hai..?"
"Wha?"
They were immediately greeted with a massive party of sorts on the road back to Dreamland, one filled to the brim with residents of Dreamland from Waddle Dees to Doos, Sir Kibbles and Bronto Burts, and even Flaming Leos and Cappies!
"We heard you two were out there investigating the case with Dynablade so we decided to prepare a party for you all just in case y'all solved it, and judging by the fact that Dynablade is no longer rampaging.."
"That means this calls for a.."
"POST INCIDENT... PARTYYYY!" A Flaming Leo screamed out, which began the celebrations.
..."Aahh.." Reimu was flabbergasted, and so was Kirby..
Well, until he saw the big piles of delicacies to which he immediately didn't mind and went after once he gawked at the party
"HAHAAAII!"
"...oh well" She sighed, smiling in the end, guess they adopted the post incident party tradition really well..
And she went ahead to enjoy the festivities.
This had not gone well..
The ultimate life form...
All caged up in a glass tube...
Where the species that he was supposed to eradicate last now looking up at him..
As if he's a... Zoo.. ANIMAL..!
and he couldn't even do such a thing to combat this.. He lost to THEM rightfully so..
And its so.. DUMB!
...
HE'LL HAVE TO WAIT FIRST FOR THEIR DOWNFALL THEN, and after that, they CAN BRING THIS PLANET TO ITS KNEES
Sumireko floated peacefully in a fetal position.
Eyes closed peacefully.. And all young..
As if she had never died in the first place..
She'd grown old, and yet once she's passed on, her soul would drift on to the after life for judgement by the Yamas...
Well.. Until the psyche of the Ultimate Life Form caught her soul, resulting in her form and spirit being trapped within a dream realm of sorts.
Its strange, she doesn't even know that she was trapped here, she can't even know what's going on anymore and yet...
She sleeps peacefully within a bubble..
Poor her.
