Hey everybody! I suddenly found myself back fangirling over Dragon Ball Z again!

If you don't remember me, I used to go by Toni the Mink, before dropping that username and all the cringe that came with it... If you don't remember my old series "Dragon Ball XG", GOOD. That was a stinky pile of dogshit that deserves to be forgotten...

I've decided to rewrite what I imagine would be the follow-up to the rather unpopular Dragon Ball GT... With "Dragon Ball Super" being all the rage, I figured GT would be a fun thing to play with as Super is officially being worked on still (even after the unfortunate passing of Toriyama...)

I'll also be borrowing ideas and characters from old friends who have since dropped off the face of the Internet (if not the entire world...)

JoSav... Kyle... if you guys are still around, drop me a line, let me know you're still alive at least, haha!

Anyhoo, this series will be heavily focused on Pan, and her journey from whiney little shit to a powerful Saiyan warrior. I hope you like!

DRAGON BALL GT: BEYOND

Arc 1: Dondoro's Army

So here we are again… The world is in danger, the almighty Z Warriors are gathered and working together to stop the big, bad threat… My dad, my uncle Goten, my good friend Trunks, his father the great Saiyan Prince Vegeta, even that doofus Uub is there. And as an added bonus, there's that purple-haired chick whose name I already forgot. If my grandfather Goku was still around, he'd probably be heading the whole front, as a Super Saiyan 4 no doubt… if he didn't reach Super Saiyan 5 already, that is.

So yeah. The whole gang is there, saving rhe word like the heroes they are… The Mighty Z Warriors…

Only there's someone missing…

Me.

I should be up there with them. But nope, here I am, being cradled like a little baby, all because I couldn't take one hit.

What happened? Why can't I ever finish a real fight?

Why can't I go Super Saiyan?

Why aren't I as strong as them?

Why did Grandpa choose some random-ass kid from nowheresville as his protege instead of his own granddaughter?

Why couldn't my father train me the way his father trained him?

Oh, that's right… He wanted to be a scholar. Jeez, even my mom quit martial arts so she could be a homemaker, wife and mother.

As for me? I got stuck with Grandpa Satan as my trainer…

Don't get me wrong, I love him and everything…but looking back, he's no Z Fighter. His special technique is to take credit for all the victories the real fighters gained.

Now that I think about it, that's where I'm heading. That is NOT what I want. I should be up there with the rest of the fighters, not on the sidelines in my grandpa's arms, praying that they pull off another win. I need to be there to make sure they win!

Grandpa Satan may have taught me to fight, and with my Saiyan heritage, I was way better than the average guy. So maybe that's why I thought I was good enough,

But the day Dondoro's Army attacked us was the day I got the biggest reality check of my life.

AGE OF 790

'King Kai… Can you hear me?'

"I hear you loud and clear, Goku!" King Kai chimed excitedly as he watched the latest intense battle occurring on Earth through his mind. His former pupil, Son Goku (recently wished back into a child, though still as strong and relentless, was facing off against the mighty Omega Shenron, "I see what you're doing! You're going to use the Spirit Bomb technique I taught you to take out Omega once and for all! Just like you did with Majin Buu! You've got this!" he cheered.

'This amount of power isn't nearly enough,' Goku replied, 'I may have used all the power the Earth had to offer, but it still won't be enough to kill Omega Shenron… That's why I'm calling. I need your help. I need to gather power from throughout the entire universe!'

"Throughout… the ENTIRE universe?!" King Kai cried, "Just how powerful IS this guy?!

'I wouldn't be asking you to do this if I could handle it myself," Goku responded, "Please, King Kai… Carry my voice across the universe!"

"Okay, Goku. Leave it to me!" King Kai replied, and wavered his antenna, 'Hey! East, South, and West Kais! Listen up! I need your help!'

After briefly explaining the situation to the best of his ability, the king's fellow Kais wavered their own antennae and helped to carry Goku's plea across the entire universe.

'PEOPLE OF THE UNIVERSE! PLEASE! FOR THE SAKE OF ALL OUR SURVIVAL, LEND ME YOUR ENERGY! NOW, RAISE YOUR HANDS TO THE SKIES!'

Thanks to the help of the kais, Goku's voice rang out to every planet in the galaxy, from Namek, to Imecka, to Gelbo, to M-2, up to and including planets that nobody on Earth, even any of the space travelers, had even heard of…

Including a newly wiped out planet that had served as a hiding ground for former Freeza soldiers. In its place was an army, finishing up its work of massacring the Freeza renegades and the inhabitants that housed them.

The army was finishing up and readying to head out when the strange voice rang out for help. "Odd…" the leader mused, "Who in the world is that? And why are they asking for OUR help..?"

"Could it be some type of distress signal?" an underling asked.

The leader lowered his head. "Possibly," he murmured, "Though I never heard of a plea for help done mentally. We should probably look into it." He turned around to face a tall, slender alien with long antennae on his head. "Visor!" he boomed, "Can you locate that voice? Where is it coming from? And what is the situation?"

The alien, Visor, lowered his head as his antennae wavered, pouring all his concentration on the source of the voice. "Hm… It's definitely in our universe," he muttered, "In the northern quadrant… roughly over a million light-years away. The voice…"

His head snapped up as his eyes nearly bulged out. "It's a Saiyan!"

Everyone turned their heads in shock. "A Saiyan?!" the leader cried, "We haven't seen any of those since…" He stole a quick glance over at one of his soldiers, a female with dark purple hair, and a noticeable tail wrapped around her waist. She, however, was just as surprised, albeit displeased, hearing the word 'Saiyan'.

"Who'd thunk a Saiyan would ask for OUR help!" laughed another soldier.

The leader found humor in this as well. "Well, he can suffer for all we care," he responded, "Though since our work here is finished, we may as well make the northern quadrant our next destination. We'd best make sure that wherever they're crying for help from, it won't do them any good if they happen to survive."

He looked back to Visor. "Stay locked on that voice and try to gather as much intel as you can. If there is still a Saiyan alive in this galaxy, then we have to check it out. After all… it is our duty to ensure that they remain extinct!"

oooo

"Dondoro" was the name of space pirates from KyLewin's "Dragon Ball New Beginnings" who were former soldiers of Freeza's empire. They'll be serving a slightly different purpose in this story.
