This one-shot is pre-series and doesn't reference any particular episode.
The legalities. I do not own any of the Librarians franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au. Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!
Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: "Small fire! I said to set a small fire! This is not small!"
"I don't think that this is what Judson meant when he posited that you should show me what it is that we do at the Library."
Flynn Carsen rolled his eyes before waving at the woman next to him to tell her to stop. "Be quiet, woman. This is a highly combustible situation."
The new Archivist rolled her eyes before giving the Librarian an unamused look. She practically hissed at him. "First off, it's Aurora, AJ, or Ra, not woman. And secondly," she waved in the direction of the guards around the object that they had come to retrieve. "You've been staring at them for the last five minutes without asking for ideas or help. You'd probably be better off setting a small fire and booking it."
To her credit, Ra didn't jump as Flynn gasped suddenly, grinning as he looked around. "Of course! It's always the last thing that I think of. Stay here and keep watch."
Before she could respond, the Librarian was gone. Rolling her eyes, Ra went back to watching the object (she was still unsure as to what it was that they were acquiring). A few minutes later, she wrinkled her nose as a new smell reached her. Was that smoke she smelled?
One of the guards looked over to his left (the opposite direction from where she was hidden, thank goodness) and his eyes widened. "Fire! Everybody, get here now! Fire!"
It was a chaotic rush that Ra watched as all of the security guards (or at least it seemed like it was all of them) descended on the fire. Ra narrowed her eyes as the flames came into view. That was most definitely NOT a small fire.
Movement out of the corner of her eye caused the Archivist to turn her attention back to the object. Once she did, Ra had to stifle the urge to put her head into her hands. Flynn had just picked up the object and began quickly walking in her direction, gesturing for her to join him.
Rolling her eyes again, Ra stood slowly (keeping the guards in her peripherals) before turning when Flynn got level with her and beginning to walk with him. When they were far enough from the building to not garner attention because of the fire, she turned on him and hissed again. "Small fire! I said to maybe set a small fire! That was most definitely not small!"
It was now that the Librarian scoffed before linking his arm with hers and forcing her to start walking again. "All that matters is that we got the Seal of King Solomon. How we got it isn't important."
Now Ra scoffed before pulling her arm out of his. "Oh, is that what you got? No one had told me what we were obtaining."
"Sarcasm doesn't help."
"One, that wasn't sarcasm. And two, is the manner in which we obtained the Seal of King Solomon going to be important to Charlene?"
Ra almost chuckled at how quickly Flynn went pale. That was going to be an interesting conversation when they got back to the Library.
