"They are everywhere!" Rude frowned. Elena also appeared and both machines started cross fire, taking many of the drones down, but there were more coming. "Close the doors and hold on for something. I'll give 'em some warm up!"

People were running and screaming, more dead on the floor, the alarm system turned on and in the entire corridor spilled red light. Rufus himself could see something huge coming through the window, before he managed to cover his face it blew away the windows. The men keeping him safe fell at his sides, dead.

His eyes were thoughtful, and it had nothing to do with breaking the rules. A war was coming, it was here already. A few years ago a disaster happened, they barely survived. It was to repeat now, would they survive it for a second time? It was his battle too, his responsibility. Not because of his post, or that he was among the people who did this to the planet in a first place.

The alternate timeline continues, based on Dirge of Cerberus and two original stories. Kalm is suddenly attacked during a festive celebration, leaving Vincent to pursue the mysterious Deepground. But this time, Lucrecia joins him on his quest. Meanwhile, a sailing endeavor goes horribly wrong, as does a mother-daughter trip to Eros Nova. Rated M for violence, nudity, and profanity.
