Dimitri Point of View:
„She's what?" How could my Roza do that to me and sleep with a moroi, probably with that Ivashkov after our night together in the cabin. I feel jealousy coming up, he could be with her, from the first moment, them playing happy family sooner or later.
„Guardian Belikov, how long until she graduates?"
„Almost two months from now on. Why?"
„Their test, you shouldn't do such a test in a pregnancy."
„Okay, I'll tell her. Thanks."
Lissa who standing shocked by my side was herself again and murmurs something, loud enough for me to hear it.
„It's possible.. can't believe it."
„What are you talking about? What is possible?"
„Can we go to Rose now please?" She clearly wants to change the subject, I'm still shocked at this news, pissed off and disappointed. The doctor nods and Vasilisa literally run in her room. I'm staying outside for a little while, can't take this now.
Lissa Point of View:
„Rose? You up? I know you're faking. You're good at this."
„I'm up.. And?"
„Uhm..You know what we read about being shadow kissed and having children with a Dhampir?"
„Yes I remember. why?"
„Rose.. You're pregnant. Around 7 weeks."
„The cabin." she murmurs to herself, before turning her attention back to me "Not possible, I still have my period. This test must be wrong."
„It was a blood test. Dimitri is sitting outside, did you told him that you can have children with an another Dhampir?" She only shakes her head and tears are escaping her eyes.
„I should have told him, right?" I didn't need to answer because she knew she should have and Rose got the answer through our bond. I feel sad for her, I'm going to be an aunt, even we're not sisters by blood.. I wrapped my arms around her and hug her, while whispering:
„A mini Belikov, shoulder long brown hair and dark brown eyes running around, wouldn't that be cute? Or a mini Rose, dangerous, long black brown hair, brown eyes and like I said dangerous, like her mum." I feel like Rose relaxed a little and even chuckles. Good sign right? „Everything will be alright."
Rose Point of View:
Me pregnant? I have had only one time sex in my life, and this one time led to a pregnancy? So many people are trying for years, still don't get pregnant. And I get knocked up on my first time. Damn you Dimitri. Never again, will I let him touch me! I am lucky and unlucky at the same time. Lucky, Dimitri is the father, I know he would be there for his child once he realizes it's really his. I carry a piece of him with me. Unlucky, I don't get to graduate yet, I want to be Lissa's Guardian, but now? Not possible with a child. I'm only eighteen years old. To young to have a child.
„You're awake." I hear this familiar voice with Russian accent saying, how I love his accent.
„Can't sleep the whole day Comrade. How bad is it for my test? I can still graduate or not?"
„You would be in the 4 or 5th month for the test, yes you can still graduate. You got lucky with the timing, could be worse."
„Good. Lucky with the timing? You're kidding? You fucking knocked me up!"
‚You could have said Congrats, you're going to be a dad. Totally Rose Hathaway stil.'
I heard my best friend through the bond, she was right, I was a bitch, you won't forget the moment when you realize you'll have a child, but I mess up though right now I don't care a whit.
„W..- What? Rose we are Dhampirs, not possible."
„Apparently it is!" I totally forget about that book, if not, I could have showed him.
„You were with that Ivashkov boy. You're hanging out quite a bit."
„I am not a whore who got knocked up by some random Moroi." I yelled with such an anger in my voice. Can't believe that he thinks I would have slept with Adrian, when I spent most of my free time with Dimitri.
I sense Lissa wanting to help me, her emotions were messed up, like my life right now.
„Dimitri, it's not Adrian, they're not hanging out alone. The father is a Dhampir. Also, Rose spent most of her time with you to my understanding, even when she shouldn't." Lissa didn't use compulsion, gladly, but I could feel he believes her a bit, at least the part that Adrian and I don't hang out alone."
"I can't be the father. We both are Dhampirs. You know what that means, no biological cildren."
"But you are Dimitri. I usually don't say this but, do the math and use your brain. Sorry."
"Fine, you guys can discuss. Have fun." I stand up and leave the infirmary. I literally storm out. I can't enjoy Lissa's reply to him, even though it was a pretty good one for her expectations. Where should I hide now? Asking for a new dorm so my mentor doesn't know in which one I stay? I've been 'a good girl' since I came back, well I had my moments, maybe they let me stay in Lissa's dorm? I need to talk to Petrov. Soon.
"Rose?"
"What? I gotta go, doing the right thing Guardian Belikov." I'm so pissed that I call the love of my life Guardian Belikov, I won't explain him what I need to do now, it even breaks my own heart, I could see that I had hurt him. Seeing him following me with this hurt expression on his beautiful face, was heartbroken. "Dimitri, will you stop following me? Please." He's too quiet, doesn't say anything, only looking at me with these beautiful dark brown eyes.
"My life is a disaster," I finally say.
"It's not a disaster," He's saying automatically
I run, didn't stop, I have no destination, after an amount of time of running I pause in front of Alberta's office. A brilliant novice telling the head Guardian that she's pregnant, well that doesn't happen everyday, or better, a Dhampir pregnant by another Dhampir. After knocking on the door I get called in, I suddenly feel fear, about getting suspended, never seeing Dimitri and my friends again, not going to graduate, being unpromised. I don't want this to happen.
"Rose, tell me you're not in trouble again?" she asks me with a little smirk on her face.
"Hey! It's been a long time." I try to manage a smile, but Guardian Petrov saw this was a forced one. "Hm, as you take it."
"What is it what you want to tell me?"
"Okay, I'll get to the point. I'm pregnant." keeping my head held high, even if it's hard. Eighteen and pregnant by my mentor, that's not something one can be proud of right now.
"Don't fool me Rose. You take everything so seriously since you're back with Vasilisa, you wouldn't sleep with Moroi without contraceptive. It's really a good prank." I'm seriously touched by her words, Alberta knows me, not like Dimitri knows me, that's a whole other level.
"I wish it was." I murmur to myself "The father's a Dhampir. Since being shadow-kissed I can have children with a Dhampir, I didn't knew that until after we slept together. I found out today that I'm carrying his child."
"So a novice?"
"I'm pretty much fucked up. 7 weeks pregnant, the dad thinks I'm a whore, sleeping with random Moroi, like a One-night-stand."
"So this guy doesn't know you Rose."
I study Alberta's face, she obviously thought the dad was Mason at first, but now hearing 7 weeks pregnant, it can't be him. The wheels starting to turn again in her head.
"Possible." The funny thing, I thought he's the one who knows me best of all my friends. Even better than Lissa.
"Now you want to know if you can graduate? Right?"
"Yup. Can I?"
"Don't you think it's too risky? The stress we put the novices through, the fightings."
"I can do this. I dealt with ghosts, a Strigoi attack, I handled the situation in Spokane well, saw how they killed my best friend. I can deal with that."
"Rose, I know what you went through, but we are talking about a new life growing inside of you, you put him or her in danger."
"No way you can talk me out of it. I'm going to graduate, this year! This baby messes up my whole life. I wanted to become Lissa's Guardian, guess what, that won't be a discussion anymore, I'm not going to be a Guardian because I got knocked up! I can only become Lissa's Guardian when I give the baby to the Academy, like my mom did it to me. That wasn't my plan for life. I trained this hard with Dimitri for nothing." I was so furious and almost yelled, that my next words came out without thinking. "except for ending up being pregnant and a whore." Quickly putting a hand on my mouth, but it was to late, it's out. When I look at Alberta, this wasn't a surprised expression, she definitely saw that coming.
Alberta Point of View:
My best novice is pregnant, from a Dhampir, literally impossible. Her little outburst in my office was to expect from Rose and maybe now even worse with her hormones, but her last sentence.. this blows my mind, at least a bit. If you watch both, it's obvious they care for each other, but I didn't know they would care that much for each other.
"I don't need to ask who you mean? Am I right?"
"Please, Guardian Petrov, do not make him quit, it's my fault that I said anything. He doesn't even know I'm here. Also, he doesn't believe me. Please. You know my outbursts. I have them from time to time and I say stupid things."
"Stop it Rose. I won't, okay? You both are pretty obvious you know? We didn't know how serious your relationship was." I don't exactly know, but I'm curious, like never before so I make this up. This will be a fun ride, but she will have my back.
"WE? The Guardians?, I can't remember being in a relationship with him. Don't talk to him about this, please." I was right, maybe they aren't in a relationship but it is serious for both of them.
"I also want you to graduate, believe me even other teachers want that, so I can ask about a permission to graduate earlier? Also Guardian Alto."
"So that I'm gone earlier." She smirks a little. "I would so miss Stan."
"I'll call you in my office when I hear anything about this." I said to her. "And Rose? Congratulations on your pregnancy. Be happy about it. A little wonder you know." She only nods slightly and slips out. This talk didn't went well. If someone finds out she's pregnant, and Guardian Belikov is the father, we're all screwed up. Normally I should report this now, she's his student, but I won't report it. About the age? I don't care how old she was, she is eighteen now. I want Rose to be happy, if that means with Belikov, that's okay for me. She wouldn't make up stories about who's the father, I totally believe her, these two were already in love after a few weeks, why didn't I see that coming when they started training? Ending up in a relationship even if it's complicated right now, I was blind. He is the only one who can soothe her, except for Lissa. They were already equals after a few weeks, I see her in class, got reports from Belikov and the teachers from combat class, clearly the best, she staked Dimitri and 2 other Guardian in one fight in the field experience, that was hard but she managed this situation perfectly, textbook perfect like Yuri explained me. If I would have been there, would I have seen their chemistry while they were fighting? Should I talk to him, even if she asked me not to? Probably not.
