Hey You! I wrote a Vampire Academy One Shot and I'll probably publish it tomorrow after work. A little Games Night ;-)
To tease you a bit more, it is set after 'Love fades.. mine has'. They are attending College (Lehigh) as Guardians. And like I said It's Games Night :-D

Rose Point of View:
Unfortunately I would recognize this voice where ever I hear it, right now this voice makes me flinch and I feel a cold shiver running down my spine. This is completely new to me, since when do I feel cold shivers just by hearing a voice? Maybe because I despise her and hear the hatred in her voice. I turn around and see the familiar face, what the hell is she doing here?
"Tasha, what a surprise. Thank you." I force a smile, maybe it works, maybe not. "You're visiting Christian?"
"You being pregnant is a surprise. Does he know?"
"Actually, yes he does." I don't want her to know the whole truth, I know what she's capable of, but Dimitri doesn't. He believes she's a good person, his friend, and wouldn't even harm a fly. Okay except Strigoi but everyone would kill them. "So, how's Christian?"
"You're using him. You're a fucking whore, I knew it. You should have let him go with me. He could have a biological child by now. You want him to play the daddy. Poor Dimka. You destroyed his and mine happiness." She shouts with such an anger, I never saw her like this.
Oh god, I even told him back in the Ski-Lodge he should take her offer, but she doesn't know. Now it's not important, I need to get her out of here, I don't want to fight her, it could end bad, I'll be barbecued by the end of the day. She definitely won't fight fair, she would harm my baby, I can't let that happen. What should I tell her?
"Leave my house please. Before I make you leave." I try to answer with a calm voice, but inside I'm not calm at all, I feel the darkness, uncontrollably reaching for more. What the heck is Lissa doing that she has so much darkness in her? And I should be able to control the amount of darkness I take, but I'm not today. I have an anger in me, since I saw Tasha in my house, this anger makes it impossible to control my best friend's darkness.
"Is that so? You? Isn't it Dimka's house too? Guess he would love to see a friend of his."
"Leave, now!" I practically yell at my enemy. At first when I met her, I liked Christian's Aunt but my dislike for her grew from time to time after her offer to Dimitri, now even more. She's insane, she's provoking me. What does Tasha Ozera even want in my house and who let her in?
"No. I'll wait for my Dimka." with her answer now, I lost my patience.
"You don't get to wait for him here Tasha. Back off! NOW!" I step a little forward to her and glance angry at her. "You leave immediately! Clear?"
"Oh, cute. You think I'm scared of you?" and with that I slap her in the face, you can even see my handprint on her cheek, I know slapping someone is kind of childish, like a catfight, not what a Guardian would do. I prefer a combat like those with Dimitri or with my former classmates, but okay for now. She definitely didn't see that coming, she shrieks and prepares herself. "Look what you did!"
"There will be no scar." I say with a hateful undertone, suddenly I feel like I'm inside a volcano, it's so freaking hot, I see already flames coming nearer to me from every angle in the room. I'm surrounded by fire. Great, Tasha wants a barbecue. I feel like I'm a suckling pig on the grill.
A quick scan tells me that she left, even closed the door after her. I don't know if it's locked or not, she's clever, but I will survive, and be even stronger. This woman really hates me and wants to see me dead, so that she may have green light to get Dimitri. The fire is already spreading like crazy, to get out of the door I need to go trough the flames, climbing out of the windows, also going trough flames and I don't know if the house has a rain gutter on the wall itself. Now or never..
I run towards the door, trying to pay attention to the while I quickly cross the room. I don't want to stumble now. Arriving at the door I try to open, locked, good god I forget that the messing doorknob is too hot to touch. Quickly flinched away, ouch that was too warm, never touching it again so rather break open the door with force. I try already twice but nothing happens, yikes did Abe choose solid wood? Please somebody let me out. I would shout, but I inhaled too much smoke, every breath makes it harder to keep me on my feet. As a Dhampir we endure more than humans, they would already be lying on the floor I guess. Not me, I fight for my baby and for myself. With the last strength I fight myself trough the flames to the windows, remembering the knob will be hot, so I take off my jacket wrap it around my hand and smash the window, it hurts but I don't care at the moment. It's open and I'm alive, only climbing out now, won't be the first time for me. Mentally preparing myself and climb up on the window sill. Letting the jacket fall from the first floor, and just until that moment I realize how high it really is when you're sitting there. My hand is burning from the wrapping, but I still need to climb. Fortunately the rain gutter isn't that far and I can climb down. God, I despise Tasha Ozera!
The climbing works perfect for about one meter, until I hear a crack and this freaking rain gutter breaks with me still on it. I don't hesitate and jump, but I don't land on my feet, definitely didn't planned on landing on my back. This hurts even more than the burnings and I feel the blackness reaching out for me.
Dimitri Point of View:
The assignment ceremony is finally over and I head to the house Abe told me about, he didn't told me anything more like who owns this place and why I should go there. Is it his place maybe? Since Zmey and Rose get along very well, he being a granddad in a few months, I can imagine it would be his.
I arrive at the address Abe gave me, the fire brigade is present. I see them from the fire department but no other people, what the hell happened? We have Guardians working in the courts little fire department, it's volunteering.
"Hello, may I ask you what happened here?" I ask the first Dhampir I met.
"Yes, some of us were in the building already, the fire probably started in the nursery, upstairs is almost everything destroyed."
"Nursery?" Was this supposed to be Roza and mine house? Was she in there? If yes, did she got out in time? Oh God.. It's hard for me to keep on my straight mask after hearing these news. "Was someone in there? I really need to know."
"There was indeed a young woman inside, but she managed somehow to climb down the rain gutter, she was unconscious with serious burns when we arrived. It's Guardian Hathaway, we informed her mother. She's at the infirmary already. I feel sorry for her, such an incident, being pregnant and hoping the baby survives." he sighs and he's truly the first Guardian who talks a lot. Finally his words sinks in, oh my god, it's Roza. I let my mask fall and show emotions, I can't control this now, my beautiful Rose.
"Roza.. Thank..you. I need uhm..to go." I nod to the Dhampir, I'm heartbroken and it's hard to get any words out of my mouth, this is new to me. I'm not like Rose when it comes to talking but I always has an answer and I usually don't stammer.
Without any hesitation I run to the infirmary, doesn't think about calling her friend.
Stepping in I see Janine approaching me, it must be serious. Her friends and her father are also sitting there, looking all nervous and concerned, except for Abe, he looks pissed off and concerned. There's definitely something serious going on.
"Belikov. She's still in surgery, we're waiting for more information from the doctors." This annoys me, I want to know how my girlfriend and my baby are doing.
It really bothers me, and also how could the nursery starts catching fire, who put this fire? I need to know more, better, I need to know everything. Janine can't help me to find out anything, she doesn't has the right connections, there's only one around here with the connections I need. I even guess he's already making calls or whatever. Abe wants justice, you don't get to hurt his daughter, you will definitely be dead. My only answer to Janine is a slight nod before going to the waiting room.
I take place next to Abe and look at him, mentally preparing myself for a conversation with Zmey.
"You don't think it was an accident?"
"No, Rose definitely has an enemy. I'll get notified about what caused the fire." He literally spit out the word fire. He's furious, even more than I thought. And I don't need to know him for a long time to know that he's thinking it was a Moroi with the element fire. Christian wouldn't do such a thing, especially not after Spokane, they're kind of friends now, in their on way. Tasha? She doesn't hate Roza, she knows if she would do that to her, our friendship would be over, forever. Sadly, I must admit Tasha would be capable.
"You mean someone with fire magic?"
"Exactly. I'll install a camera when they renovate the house." He whispers and I know why, there's a fire user in our row, right now he doesn't trust anybody.
"How can I help?"
"I need you to stay with my daughter, I'll deal with it alone."
Just as I want to reply I hear a familiar voice calling me and approaching our little group. I don't expect her to be here in the clinic, and how does she know about the accident? I didn't informed her, Christian didn't had his phone out of his pocket, maybe before I came here.
"Dimka! I just heard what happened, horrible! how is Rose?"
Abe Point of View:
Someone wanted to kill my daughter, this person will soon disappear forever and I don't care who it is. I'll ask every Moroi at Court if they know anybody with the element fire. Like now, we've got already two fire users. Natasha Ozera and Christian Ozera, as for Christian he has an Alibi. He and the princess were on the way to check out their dorms, Janine as their Guardian even though the Court is pretty safe. What got Lady Ozera as an Alibi?
"Well, well look who's here..Natasha Ozera. What a pleasure." I can tell that she starts thinking why I'm here. She'll like the fact why I'm in the waiting room with friends and family of Rose.
"Mr. Mazur, nice to see you. You're also here because of Rose?" Asking all innocently and formally with title, since when? Is she nervous? Tasha formulates her question quite well, not too obvious. But I know why she asks, maybe other people around me are stupid or blind enough to not notice, but I'm not, I can read her.
"Rose is my daughter. You didn't know?" I hold her gaze like she does too, looking at her all intimidating until she looks away. "You're a fire user, right Lady Ozera?"
"Oh. Who would have thought that you're actually a father? You must be proud of her. Fascinating young woman."I can see the fake smile she put on, and just too nice of her. Our dear Tasha is hiding her true emotions. "Yes, my element is fire, why the question? What happened anyway?"
Something's definitely wrong. I'm going to get to the bottom of the matter. She'll pay the price if she has anything to do with the accident. Playing all dumb.
"Let me get this clear, ' I just heard what happened, horrible', to quote you. Now you're asking me what happened, strange isn't it? My guess is, you know exactly what happened, you even know more than we do." I glare at her "You don't want me as your enemy. I make your life a living hell. But I think you know that already?"
Tasha Point of View:
"Mr. Mazur, everyone's telling another story, like fire in the nursery and no one found a quick match in the room, she managed to escaped through the window. Or the fire started in her bedroom and she lit it herself, although she escaped in the last minute through the window."
"My Dear, but how could Rose lit a fire in her bedroom if no one found a quick match? She's a Dhampir." He smirks.
That bitch survived the fire, she's still in surgery but my plan for her was to die in the fire. Finding out Zmey is Rose's father doesn't make it any easier, on the contrary this fact makes everything more difficult. My only hope now, she won't make it through surgery. I could be there for Dimka, comfort him and someday I'll be more than only a friend. This thought confirms my plan even more. I want this fucking whore out off my way, and making it look like an accident. Dimitri needs a woman not an immature girl who slept with another guy while being with him. Dumb enough to got knocked up. Poor him.
Now being with her family, friends and most important with Dimka I need to hide my hatred, like all other bad emotions I've got for Rose, and forcing something which doesn't exist. I don't have any good emotions for her, not since I found out she loves my Dimitri.
"Didn't they told you guys if Rose's and my baby is stable?" My Russian guy asks the group and he completely caught me off guard. Their baby? Did he lost his mind? How can it be his baby, he's a Dhampir too. Dimitri is just too nice let her go in her state. If it's really his, I'm screwed, I harmed his girlfriend and his baby. He won't forgive me.
"No, not yet. Wait a bit, or ask them?" Janine answered him honestly. She's concerned too, not only Christian, Lissa, Adrian, Abe and Dimitri.
Is anyone here not concerned about her except for me? I could need a partner in crime when it comes to Rose AND Zmey. I can take this little bitch, won't be that hard but I need to admit Zmey is out of my league. Just now I notice 2 Guardians standing in corners, these must be Abe's. He isn't even Royal.
Dimitri Point of View:
"Dimka, everything will be fine." Tasha says with a comforting look and places her hand on my arm. "She will survive, and her baby too." I can sense and hear by the tone of her voice she means Rose's baby, doesn't believe I could be the daddy.
I'm glad Tasha's here, she's truly a friend and it means a lot to me that she's comforting me while my pregnant girlfriend is still in surgery. I also think about what Abe said to her, he's right it's strange. That doesn't match together. But now it's not the right time to give it a second thought.
"I know she will. She's a fighter." I'm so tensed and worried since I heard from the Guardian what had happened, it doesn't get any better. "Tasha, you need to know something. I am the father of her unborn baby." It's probably not the best timing right now to tell her, but this topic is important and the fact is, she's my friend, she should know.
"Dimitri, everyone knows you love Rose and she loves you, I know it too since I first saw you two at the academy. But be realistic, that's not possible. The fact is.. well I guess you know. She cheated on you, told you it would be yours.. You are such an amazing person because you believe her and you want to help raising her child as your own, love it as your own. I'm sorry I'm saying this, but I'm being realistic. I like Rose, I really do, you just need a friend right now who's looking at the facts." She says with a calm and carrying voice, still having her hand and my arm and starts slightly caressing my arm but I pull away. I can't take her anymore, this is too much.
"How dare you. You say you're a friend? Shouldn't they be happy for one another? But no, you accused her of cheating on her boyfriend. If you would really like her, and know how much she loves me too, then you wouldn't even consider that she cheated on me. You can go if you want, you're not here because of Rose. And my answer will always stay the same." Tasha leaves without a word. I guess she's not that good of a friend as I thought and jealous maybe.
3 hours later
"Hello, I'm Dr. Shepherd. Are you family of Guardian Rosemarie Hathaway?"
"Yes, how is she? Please good news?" I ask the doctor hopefully, and honestly I really hope she would already be awake, but deep down I know that's not possible, even though we Dhampirs are healing quicker than humans.
"Both survived, they'll come through. Rose definitely had a guardian angel. She has still serious burns, broken ribs, a fracture on the left arm, internal bleeding, which we could stop and rupture of the spleen. We needed to remove it. Don't worry, a human being can live without a spleen. She's currently at the intensive care unit. You can go visit her now."
"Thank you! Thank you very much." I'm so happy both did it, and as stable as she can be in this situation. Now I just need to head to my Roza. I can feel the group's following me to the unit. I won't ever leave her side.
Arriving there I enter her room and pull the chair to the bed. I sit on the chair and take her hand. God, I want her to be awake.
"Roza, please wake up. I love you. I don't know what to say, it's pretty boring when you don't answer. So please, wake up very soon, we're all worried about you and we love you." I don't know how many time passed, I can see her eyelids flutter and her fingers lightly moving in my hand. She's waking up, finally. I look at her for at least 10 minutes, knowing she was awake and faked sleeping.
"Sleeping Beauty awakens." I say relieved with a slight smile on my lips.
"Are you my nurse?" She has a smile on her lips, these kinds who makes my heart melt. Like for me, I give her one of my full and rare smiles.
