As every night she thought of Hajime before falling asleep and negative thoughts haunted her again. What if he was dead? Kazama keeps saying he's dead for her so what if that's right?

These thoughts made her heartbeat faster as there was no way to know any of the answers for these questions.

Maybe if she got a little close to Kazama he would let her know that Hajime is alive if Hajime was alive? She thought to herself. But getting closer to Kazama can be an opening for more cruelty from him so she had to think more on that.

Too tired to keep dwelling on these same thoughts she decided to calm down and only sleep. For the very moment all she could do was pray.

The snow had stopped in the morning but it was still freezing cold. The three of them ate breakfast in the same room. Chizuru was surprised. She expected Amagiri to leave them to give Kazama more privacy. Amagiri also told Kazama that he got some business and will join them afterwards.

Shortly after Kazama and Chizuru got on the same carriage. Kazama told her this time their road is supposed to be shorter than last time.

For the next hour none of them spoke. Kazama looked a little at her every now and then and Chizuru even knew that but didn't look back. She didn't like to look at him.

"Drown in sorrow and sadness for a human, huh? You really think he was going to stand by your side forever? Especially after he realized the creature you are?" Kazama finally said in a calm tone looking at her.

Chizuru started breathing heavily as if she was holding back her tears or rage.

"What if our children grew to hate you after all you have done to me? What if they grew to hate you because of how much I hate you?" She asked. He stayed silent for a moment. Unknown to her, he was embracing the comfort feeling in the stomach at the thought of their future children.

"It doesn't matter how they feel about me. What matters is that they carry their duties towards their clan and all the oni." He said calmly

"Once, I was supposed to be a mother, but I had a miscarriage. '' She said without looking at him and in a low voice as if she was talking to herself.

Kazama looked at her and waited for her to continue. Even though his expression didn't show it, he was getting emotional.

"Every time you insult humans, you are insulting my dead child. After all, he was half human." She said in a harder voice.

"I probably endure your insults at Hajime, but I won't endure your insults at my child." She added.
