"I am so glad that Dan has finally made another friend, I was starting to get a little worried about him, not having anyone to talk to" exclaimed Miyoko as she and Saki watched their children laying on the riverbank speaking to each other. Whilst their husbands tended to the barbeque, the two betas mother already got their meals
"I know how you feel" replied Saki, the other beta's shoulders drooping slightly "Runo's been having some trouble with some older girls from class bothering her lately, and for the past week I've heard her speaking to someone in her room" the bluette shook her head, rolling her eyes fondly. "I thought she was going mad, Tatsuo started to go crazy with it, went straight into protective father mode, making up stories about some boy sneaking in, honestly" Saki chuckled to herself, before taking a bite from her plate "He went and barged right into her room the other day, holding up the largest frying pan ready to protect his beloved daughter's honor. Made a fool of himself when it turned out she was speaking to those two other girls, oh what was their names again…"
Miyoko was smiling as she imagined the sight "I think that was Alice and Julie I believe" "Ah that's right! Oh, Runo was livid and gave him quite an earful after that, Tatsuo went to hide in the restaurant after that." The two mothers were laughing together from the story
Oh, thank goodness! At least I'm not the only one thinking their child is struggling, at least I don't have to worry about Dan sneaking in boys…well except maybe Shun. Miyoko was brought out of her thoughts by a comment made by Saki, causing her to blink in surprise
"It's lovely seeing the two betas getting along, strangely we don't have many other betas Runo's age living near us"
"Oh! Daniel is not a beta, he is still yet to present"
It became Saki's turn to blink in confusion, her cheeks quickly turned red as she hurriedly stammered out an apology "Oh dear! I am so sorry I just assumed, silly me I thought he was a beta alongside you and Shinjuro"
Miyoko gave a small wave of her free hand, reassuring the other mother "No, no it's quite alright, many people assume he's a beta especially at school and in the family. Truthfully I'm a bit concerned that he has not presented yet, I took him to a doctor when he was younger and the rest of his classmates and friends had finished presenting, but they just said he was a late bloomer. I've been speaking to Shinjuro about it, and we may go and get a second opinion"
Saki smiled whilst giving Miyoko a gentle pat on the shoulder, "I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, it's not uncommon for children to present late, many don't start until their early teenagers, all my cousins did"
The two women's conversation halted as their husbands walked up to them with their own plates full, Miyoko was quick to steal a loin tip from her husband's plate, to which he pouted at her. Giggling she quickly kissed him on the cheek in apology, before looking over towards the children.
As soon as the fathers had left the barbeque, Runo and Dan ran for it to grab their own meals. Miyoko smiled before turning back to her husband and their new friends.
"It looks like Dan and Runo are getting along, and I'm glad you both could join us out here for our little beach barbeque" she exclaimed
"It was definitely a pleasure coming out, we should do this more often it's a nice break from the restaurant" replied Tatsuo
"Oh, I forgot to ask, but did you receive a letter regarding the schools closing and moving buildings," asked Shinjuro
Tatsuo quickly swallowed his food, lifting his chopsticks in reply "I've heard about that letter from the customers, supposedly a new development site is being constructed but no one has a clue on what it is though. Thankfully our daughter's school is just outside the development area, but I take it Dan's school is not"
Both the Kuso betas nodded their heads, "I know the letter said that a new building will be constructed for them and that they will be doing remote schooling for a few months. But I'm concerned about how it will affect the student's education, would love to know what is being built too" said Shinjuro
"A friend of mine works for the construction company, I think she said it was going to be a large office building…although she did mention that inside plans looked quite odd for an office" mentioned Saki
"I didn't touch your stupid loin tips beef breath!"
The adults quickly turned back to see the two children having an argument over food, seeing as it wasn't too serious they went turned their backs to them. Shinjuro gave Miyoko a quick wink as he tilted his head to his plate, She gave him an eye roll, now knowing what happened to the last loin tip. She then caught Saki's eye and the other beta mother gestured back to their children with a smile, the two ladies had a quiet chuckle knowingly to themselves.
Yep, their children were going to be good friends! "It was definitely a pleasure coming out, we should do this more often it's a nice break from the restaurant" replied Tatsuo

So Runo and her family are Betas, Dan's parents are betas and Dan is...Don't know yet, oh well :P
