Chapter 3: War Train Kept A Rollin

Finn was driving through the meadows for some time and not knowing where to go because he had no map, no compass, and since this is a different world, he would have to be extra cautious because there might be dangerous animals, and even monsters lurking in the wilderness.

Finn was not paranoid as something clearly inhuman was observing him from the forest back at the car tunnel not too long ago, and he could tell it wasn't a mundane curious animal.

The young blonde-haired man was starting to get desperate because the grassy meadow was starting to end and beyond the meadow was a forest and the trees were too dense and close together for his Dodge Challenger to drive through.

He had no choice but to leave his car behind and go exploring beyond the trees, but he had to leave a little 'bread crumb' trail behind so he can know where his car is and doesn't get lost. He didn't plan on going too far from his car as he still needed to attend Starchy's radio show, and it was important he didn't lose the car as he needed it for transportation and shelter.

Finn parked his car nearby some trees, threw on his black leather jacket, green backpack, and got out the car. His idea was to use his combat knife to create long and deep cuts into each tree he passes by so he can remember where he once was.

Finn trekked through the forest, marking each tree that he walked past, cautiously observing his surroundings while holding his handgun that was ready to fire as he had the safety off. After a few minutes of walking, Finn started to hear the sound of a train nearby.

"Mathematical! A train!? Yes!" Finn said with joy. A passing train meant that he was close to human civilization and even if he couldn't get on the train, he would just follow the train tracks until he arrived at a city or town. It was way better than just wandering aimlessly in the wilderness, not knowing where to go.

Finn quickly ran towards the direction of the train and came across a dirt path that went straight to the train. He was able to catch it in time, but the train did look strange to Finn as it was all green and each rail car had an infinity symbol on top of it.

Finn waited for the train to end, or look for an opening where he could hitch a ride on it.

The young blonde-haired man waited…

And waited…

And waited…

And waited…

"Geez, why is it so dang long?" Finn asked impatiently. He didn't remember trains being this long, but he noticed something off about the train the more he studied it. Finn decided to climb up a tree to see how long the train was and to his shock once he climbed high enough, he realized the train wasn't going anywhere.

It was moving in a big circle.

A never-ending loop that went nowhere.

The green train was running on tracks that were arranged in a massive circle that stretched for miles and Finn wondered if it was supposed to be built like this, or it was one big amusement park train ride that somehow got transported to this world like him and it is still operational. Another odd thing about it was that there was no locomotive train engine pulling the rail cars and all the rail cars were green boxcars.

Just like with the knives falling from the sky, it appeared to Finn that he came across another eldritch phenomenon that made no sense and defies all logic and reasoning. Who built this train? Was it meant to be a fun joyride built by someone that was bored? Why was it in the middle of a forest far away from any town or city? Was it even built by humans? How was the train moving with no engine powering it?

Finn sighed as he climbed down the tree. It sucked that he couldn't use the train to get to a city, or town, but maybe he could gather some supplies from the rail cars. He had to be careful though because he doesn't know what could be lurking in the rail cars.

Finn felt a wave of nostalgia wash over him as he was observing the looping train and looking for a way to hop on a rail car.

"It feels like I've seen this before…" Finn thought. It felt like he had seen this train before in his dreams when he was a child. He remembered falling asleep one day at the backseat of the Dodge Challenger when his parents drove him to his

MMA class when he was fourteen, and he did recall having a dream about a train that never seemed to end…

The train in his dream was even green and his dog, Jake was with him on the train too…

He finally found an opening in a rail car and Finn jumped onto the train and entered the rail car. Inside the rail car was…nothing. There were no boxes, supplies, or other cargo inside the rail car other than the bizarre fact that the floor, walls, and ceiling were made out of gray bathroom tiles.

However, there were double doors from opposite ends of the rail car that were connected to the other rail cars.

Finn was about to walk to the double doors on the left to investigate some more, but suddenly, the doors on the right opened up and walked in a strange green humanoid being. Finn quickly got into combat mode and aimed his handgun at the mysterious being.

The being appeared as a tall humanoid green pigman-like creature that was wearing medieval clothing like an adventurer straight out of a fantasy RPG game; it even had a brown fur cape that had a hood, a gold skull necklace, metal shoulder armor, black gloves, dark brown loincloth, iron leggings, and black boots.

The one thing it wore that seemed really out of place with its medieval warrior attire were the goofy red glasses on its face as if the pigman creature went to the mall and bought it so it can attend a crazy rave.

The pigman creature stood at Finn's height and it was quite buff as it wore no shirt, exposing its rock-hard muscles. Where Finn was more on the lean muscular side like a military soldier in his prime, the pigman was built like a bodybuilder juicing up on steroids.

It also didn't help that it had a large knife in its hand that looked like a bowie knife, and it had a strange sword that was shaped like a thunderbolt that it carried on its hip.

Finn didn't like that the pigman creature was already marching towards him in a threatening matter, but Finn still attempted at being diplomatic. Maybe he could get some answers out of it.

"Umm, excuse me. I'm lost and-"

"Gimme the loot!"

The pigman creature suddenly shouted at Finn, charging at the human to stab him with the knife. It didn't care about Finn's life, rather it was very interested in the weapon Finn was holding in his hand and was planning to steal it after murdering Finn.

Finn shot the pigman creature through its chest without hesitation. The 9mm round tore through the pigman's chest, damaging its lung, and the pigman grunted and fell to its knees while clutching its torso as a pool of green blood started to leak from its wound.

Finn didn't want to fight and kill it, but he had no choice but to use lethal force since this thing immediately attacked him unprovoked while brandishing a deadly weapon, so Finn had every right to kill in self-defense. It was him or the pigman.

He had already prepared his mind that he needed to kill before joining the Marines and he could not get squeamish and scared at the sight of blood or needing to kill when absolutely necessary.

"Oh, Glob damn it!"

The pigman yelled.

"I should have grabbed the chest armor from that slime!"

The pigman snarled at Finn and threw its knife at him, aiming for Finn's eyes. Finn quickly sidestepped out of the direction of the thrown knife thanks to his quick reflexes and fired another shot, hitting the pigman square in the stomach. Finn flinched because he was firing a gun in an enclosed space, and it was making his ears ring a bit.

"Ah! Need t-to heal!"

The pigman groaned in pain from getting shot again and used the last of its strength to jump out of the opening that Finn used to get into inside the rail car and disappeared behind some trees and bushes outside.

Finn lowered his handgun and breathed a sigh of relief.

First contact in this new world and it immediately went to shit. He hoped he could find a human, or a friendly intelligent civil being he could ask for assistance with his situation. It's gonna suck if he just keeps running into hostile beings. Although, when the pigman cursed, it seemed to utter the name of a God Finn has never heard about.

It said Glob damn, much like the humans on Earth say God damn, so does that mean the non-human beings and entities on this world worship a God named Glob?

"I wonder if Glob is a good God and not an evil one." Finn said mentally. He was about to leave the rail car and move onto the next one, but he noticed that when the pigman fled from the train, it dropped its weapon and some other items on the floor of the rail car.

"Whoa…" Finn's eyes gleamed with excitement and curiosity. The pigman dropped the thunderbolt shaped sword and some gold coins. Finn immediately went for the sword and held it in his hands. The sword was about the length of a longsword, and it had a blue blade that was shaped in the image of a thunderbolt.

It would be very impractical in real life, but Finn quickly discovered that was wasn't a normal sword as he could feel the energy coursing through the blade as if it was alive.

He did a few test swings and stabs with it and to his surprise and shock, a blue lightning bolt leaped from the tip of the blade and struck the rail car wall, damaging and charring the wall.

"Holy shit!" Finn exclaimed in excitement and awe. He couldn't believe he was holding a real magic sword in his hand, something he always dreamed of doing when he was a child.

However, his joy and excitement came to a sudden halt when Finn realized just how easily the pigman could have killed him which caused the man to sweat in fear. He was glad that the pigman chose to attack him with the large mundane knife as he would have been dead if the pigman chose to attack him with the lightning sword.

He was also glad that the pigman was about as durable as a normal human and wasn't inhumanly tough that it would have laughed off his bullets, and his 9mm rounds would have done nothing to stop it from stabbing him through the throat.

He was thankful that God still had his back, even when he was thrown into a world of chaos that didn't make any sense.

Finn picked up the gold coins and placed them in his pocket and went to explore the rail car on the left. It was a good thing he now had a magical weapon that could do some serious damage since he only had a limited supply of bullets for his handgun and that Finn would eventually run into a supernaturally durable enemy that can't be hurt by bullets.

He also needed to be careful of the pigman returning back for a rematch. It said it needed to heal itself, meaning it must have fled from the train to lick its wounds and it wasn't dead from Finn shooting it twice. It may have been as durable as a human, but it possessed endurance and pain tolerance that was a bit higher; Finn was still surprised that it could still run away so quickly despite its lung being damaged and having a decent sized hole through its belly.

Those wounds would have easily been able to hospitalize a normal human, but this thing was still to be able to run and move without being slowed down by its injuries.

He was about to enter the next rail car, but Finn's head started hurting and this time it was worse than the previous headaches.

"Ahh man, my head." Finn groaned in pain and held his forehead, frowning as a sharp pain struck his dome as if someone was hammering down a nail into his brain. Finn's vision swam as he started to see something floating in front of him.

He blinked in confusion and once his vision returned to normal, there was a multicolored wheel that had numbers on it floating in front of him. In addition to the wheel, there was a floating blue screen on top of it and the wheel was numbered one to twelve.

"What's this?" Finn asked out loud. He reached out to touch the floating holographic wheel and screen, but his hand went through them.

Text started to appear on the screen…

[Hello, Player! Are you ready to tip the tables to your liking, or suffer a terrible curse? Well, here are! Welcome to the Spin System! Just say the word "Draw" and pick any of the two numbers of one to twelve and after you made your pick, snap your fingers to spin the wheel. The wheel will spin twice. You guessed right and the wheel lands on any of the two numbers you chose during the two spins, you will be a Winner and gain a powerful, but temporary blessing. But if you are wrong, you will be a pathetic virgin human Loser and GLOB help you if you are in a bad position…

Good luck and happy spinning!

Your first spin will be a freebie, and you will have a 100% chance of becoming a Winner! Use it wisely!]

"Huh? A luck-based power system? Cool." Finn thought. Is this what was causing him to have all these headaches? He had a hidden superpower that was struggling to get out. But still, what did it have to do with those flashes of the pink princess, upright standing Jake, the pale monster woman, and the fire girl? Not to mention that name again…Glob. Although Finn was a bit annoyed by it calling him a 'virgin loser'.

While Finn was happy that he just unlocked a new ability he never thought he had, it was a bit concerning because it relied on him taking a wild guess and maybe getting a power that might benefit him. He wanted to know exactly what the 'curses' were, but the Spin System didn't explain what he'll be cursed with.

It said his first spin was a freebie, so that meant Finn would have to use it when absolutely necessary when his back is to the wall, and he has no way out. He really wanted to test it out to see what he'll get, but Finn didn't want to waste his freebie.

The Spin System kind of reminded him of the Dice System from this fantasy boardgame called Thor's Courage that he loved playing with his buddies from Founder High School. They would throw some dice down as their champions fought monsters and if they got a high enough number, they could give their champions perks that will increase their chances in winning a fight or succeeding in a social interaction like convincing a bar tender to give them a discount on mead.

He wondered if the Spin System would give him a perk that would boost his social skills, but again, he couldn't test drive the Spin System because he didn't want to waste the freebie.

"Hey, can you tell me why I'm in this place? And can you give me directions to a town or city?" Finn asked the Spin System.

[...]

"Well? Is there a way for me to go back home?"

[...]

"Fine, don't tell me." Finn said with frustration.

"Alright, I don't want to spin right now, can you like…go away or disappear?" Finn spoke to the floating wheel. The wheel and the blue screen were quite distracting and blocked some of his vision.

[Until next time...]

The wheel and the blue screen disappeared.

"Good." The young blonde man nodded.

Finn entered the next rail car and came across a room that had the same bathroom tiles on the ceiling, walls, and floor, but they were pink instead of grey like the last rail car. Inside the rail car lurked a horde of slime monsters with some being shaped like the generic slime balls, but others were shaped like cubes and every slime creature had a mysterious item inside their body. There were various raised platforms throughout the rail car and a few of the slimes were even standing on them or hiding behind them.

The moment he entered, the slime creatures that stood as still as a statue immediately noticed Finn's entrance into their lair and without hesitation, they began to attack him.

"Man…and I just said I didn't want to encounter any more aggressive monsters…" Finn thought as he ran and took cover behind a platform, dodging the acid spray from a slime. He shot a bullet at the slime that tried to melt his face off with acid, but to his surprise, the bullet just harmlessly passed through its body and did no damage. He hid behind the platform again to evade another acid spray.

"Oh, that's right, slimes are malleable and have extra resilience towards physical attacks as they have no bones, blood, and don't really have anything to break. But let's see if they can handle a little shock therapy…" Finn put his handgun away and gripped the handle of his new magic thunder sword.

He didn't know how many times he could unleash the thunderbolt attack, so Finn had to be mindful of the energy inside the blade.

Finn jumped out of his hiding spot and flailed wildly with his blade, unleashing multiple thunderbolts that rained down on the slime monsters in the rail car and to Finn's joy, it was quite effective as all of the slime monsters were either vaporized, or got blown to pieces by the thunderbolts. The dead slime monsters dropped different items when they were slain.

"Hell yeah!" Finn cheered. He went over to the items and found an assortment of weapons and armor. Finn even discovered that the slimes were holding some food and water as one slime had a bottled fresh drinking water in its body, and another dropped a plate of cooked steak that smelled fresh as if it just came off the charcoal grill a few minutes later.

Finn was quite pleased as he no longer had to worry about food and water. When he was driving through the meadow, his desire for the essentials of life were getting to him and that he would have to hunt for deer or drink from a fresh spring, but thankfully, encountering this train was the best thing that happened to him.

Finn sat on a platform and began eating and drinking. He was starting to starve because the last time he ate was popcorn and soda when he was at the movies back at home, so he needed something hearty in his belly.

Sometime later, Finn was decked out in armor like he was a legendary medieval warrior on a quest to save the princess and slay the evil dragon. Finn was able to obtain an assortment of weapons, armor, and items, while some of them were mundane, the others had a special supernatural attack or an ability, like the warhammer that Finn found that fired an energy blast that can turn the enemy to stone, or a spider-shaped wand that can fire webs to trap and ensnare enemies.

Finn even found some guns here and there after killing some train monsters, like he was able to gain a double-barreled saw-off shotgun from an ant creature that was made out of red crystals.

He was wearing a red gem necklace that increases strength, metal armor on his shoulders and legs that gave him extra resistance to physical attacks, a black crown that shot fire and produced a 'fire limb' that can grab and throw things, and a brown belt with a green gem belt buckle that boosted his agility.

As Finn was destroying the train monsters and collecting weapons and gear, he was growing more confident that he will survive. Earlier when he was driving in the meadow, Finn was at a loss of what to do and was hoping for the radio show.

Finn felt more assured now that he had access to magical weapons and knew he could take on the thing that was watching him from the woods.

However, the blonde-haired man was spending too much time on the train and Finn's green backpack was starting to get full of food, water, and other items. He would need to head back to his car and drop off the supplies and maybe he would return later.

"Thank god I came across this train!" Finn said happily and jumped off the rail car and onto the dirt road. The sun was starting to set, and he needed to head back anyway as he did not want to linger around the strange forest at night.

Finn walked towards the direction of where he parked his car, but before he could exist the dirt road and go back through the forest towards his car, a tall hulking figure leapt from the top of a rail car and landed in front of Finn, startling him and forcing him to jump back.

Finn quickly took out his 9mm Uzi that he picked from one of those gorillas that can shoot a lightning spell at him and his reliable lightning sword.

He wondered who or what this thing was. Was it another adventurer like him? The train monsters couldn't leave the rail car and chase after him, though he did see a lightning gorilla on top of a rail car, but he didn't encounter a train monster that left the train to attack him on the dirt path or in the woods.

The figure stood ten feet tall, was wearing a full-body black metal gothic armor, had a gold sword in it's a right hand, a wand with a blue crystal on it in it's left hand, a 'moon' the size of a baseball orbiting around its head, had a small pirate cannon mounted on its right shoulder, its cape was made out of pure fire, and its face was hidden by a dragon helmet. There was a floating eyeball with wings that was attached to the top of the helmet with a rope.

All and all, it looked like Finn just ran into a terrifying and really strong dungeon boss straight out of a fantasy game. And just like a dungeon boss, Finn had a feeling this thing was going to have a crap ton of health, it's going to hit like a truck, and it's going to have cheap hard-to-counter abilities.

"We meet again, dummy. I've been waiting for you…" The armored figure said to Finn.

"Huh? Who are you?" Finn asked. The voice sounded familiar to the human.

"You got me good earlier with your little ranged weapon, but I'm prepared now! This time I'll win! And I'll say it again…GIMME YOUR LOOT!" It shouted.

Realization struck Finn like a lightning strike, and he discovered with horror that it was the pigman creature, the first being he ran into on the train that tried to kill him and steal his stuff.

It must have used a healing potion from one of the dead train monsters to restore itself and went off to 'level grind' so it can have its rematch with him when he first chased it off. Which was odd to Finn because the pigman could have easily killed him if it just attacked him with the lightning sword instead of the normal knife.

Finn was on the train for quite a while, and he did not run into the pigman in any of the rail cars. It was possible that it was deliberately avoiding him so it could make itself stronger and have the confidence and power to fight him again.

"I told you dude, you ain't taking my stuff, so fuck off!" Finn declared and readied himself for combat.

The pigman was definitely using an item that increased his size to boost his strength and durability as Finn wondered how the pigman got so large when it was clearly around his size in the rail car. Now the pigman stood taller than a grizzly bear standing up.

The eyeball with wings shot an energy beam at Finn, but he was able to block it with his lightning blade and sprayed a bunch of bullets at the pigman with his Uzi, but the strange 'moon' orbiting around the pigman's head produced a forcefield that blocked the bullets.

The pigman charged at Finn with his sword raised and swung down to try to cleave the human in half, but Finn intercepted the blade with his own magical sword. Finn grunted as he realized that the pigman was much stronger, so strong that blocking his sword swing sent Finn flying back and crashing through a tree, causing the human to yelp in pain. Even though Finn was wearing a red gem necklace that increased his strength, it still wasn't enough to intercept the pigman's strike.

As he sailed through the air, Finn flailed the lightning sword wildly to hurl a volley of thunderbolts at the pigman, but once again, that damn 'moon' was erasing his ranged attacks.

Finn was able to land on his feet, but the pigman was already on him, but this time, instead of using the sword, the pigman shot an ice beam from its wand, freezing Finn's legs.

"Ahh!" Finn exclaimed in pain at the frostbite. The pigman was about to stab Finn in the heart, but the black crown on his head saved him by unleashing a massive jet of flames right in the pigman's face, damaging the creature and pushing it away from Finn.

"Ugh! Damn you!" The pigman cursed. The black crown summoned a 'fire tentacle' and it was used to burn away the ice that was restraining Finn's legs. Finn quickly swapped to the warhammer and unleashed the petrifying energy blast from it to turn the pigman to stone, but the 'moon' once again deleted the energy blast.

The pigman growled like a beast at the human and Finn noticed that it barely took any damage from the fire blast, it just annoyed it.

The young human realized that he was unfortunately in a losing battle. The pigman not only had more magical weapons and items then him, but he couldn't overpower it because it was stronger, faster, and worse of all, his ranged attacks weren't doing anything to it because of that 'moon' that was deleting his ranged attacks.

Finn also realized that the train monsters weren't as tough as he thought. He swept through the rail cars with no problem because with each dead train monster, he was able to quickly get weapons and items. Not to mention that the train monsters weren't that smart and had predictable attack patterns…

Which brings Finn to the pigman here trying to kill him. It wasn't a train monster, but a non-human adventurer that found the looping train like him, but the pigman was consumed by battle lust and greed.

It made Finn ponder the possibility that he could have gone mad if he stayed too long on that train…

"Do I use it?" Finn thought, thinking back to the Spin System. It said to use the freebie wisely and maybe this was a perfect time. His back ached like hell from hitting the tree, his legs were frostbitten, and he could barely jog, and he was up against an enemy trying to brutally murder him. It was a good thing he was wearing armor on his legs, or the frost attack would have been more severe.

"Here goes nothing…Spin System, show yourself." Finn said mentally, trying to summon the wheel and text box.

[You rang?]

It quickly appeared in front of Finn.

"I like to spin." Finn was glad that the Spin System was able to read his mind and that meant he could use it without talking out loud.

[Remember this, Finn the Human, say the word "Draw" and pick any two numbers and then snap your fingers to spin the wheel. EXAMPLE: "Draw 2 and 9" and you snap your fingers]

"Umm ok…" Finn readied himself. Just before he was about to spin, the pigman attacked him again with a sword swing, intending to decapitate Finn, but Finn's black crown sprang into action, creating multiple 'fire tentacles' to stop the sword and incinerated the pigman's face, blinding it.

"Ah that cursed flame crown!"

It bought Finn some time, but the crown was knocked off Finn's head by the pigman unleashing an energy blast attack from the wand. The human didn't take any damage, but the crown was knocked a good distance away from Finn.

"Draw 1 and 12." Finn thought and snapped his fingers.

The pigman let out a battle cry and used its wand to charge up an expanding ball of energy that it planned to drop on Finn and make it explode in his face.

The wheel spun for a few seconds, and it came to a stop…

Finn heard the sounds of bells, and an alarm go off like he just won a large Jackpot at a casino slot machine game in Vegas.

[WINNER!]

Author's Note:

Yes, a lot of the characters will be getting a glow up. The green humanoid pigman creature that Finn easily defeated in the "Dungeon Train" episode was actually fat, out-of-shape, and had a geeky pimply face. In my story I 'upgraded' him. I'm doing this for three reasons.

1: To establish the fact that Finn is in an alternate version of Ooo.

2: To beef up the power level of some weak enemies, making them more challenging. So some enemies that canon Finn easily defeated will be a bit stronger and more competent.

3: The "Lemon" smut scenes will be spicier as some characters won't just get stronger, but will be more attractive :P

So yes, PB, Marcy, and a few other female and male characters will be getting a glow up. I was reading "The True King of Ooo" the other day by Writer of the Future and I liked how the Author made PB and some of the Ooo princesses attractive, shapely and more human looking, so I was like, why the hell not?
