XII, the Hanged Man, reversed. 0, the Fool, upright. VI, the Lovers, upright.
Given it's the weekend, he may as well spoil the fortune teller a visit. The fortune teller being Tomi. And the fortune he had gotten was exactly the same as last week's to a tee. Akechi was sitting across the fortune telling table with the fortune at hand. Either she's good at fixing the deck, or she's not that good at remembering these things.
Prior to this, he went back to Neopolitan's palace to get some more money from shadows, gaining some extremely weak personas in the progress. Akechi's not sure what the secret he had to making his multiple personas strong, but he'll find out.
"Excuse me, but this is the same fortune I've gotten as last week." Akechi said.
"Is it, now?" Tomi asked. "Then that would mean nothing has changed in your life."
"Though, I no longer sleep in a hotel now... but I don't think that counts."
"No, it does not. Your journey is still starting, and you have yet to make a choice."
"I see..." Akechi said, trying to sound polite. He needs to start wearing that princely mask of his again.
Akechi then had gotten up from the table. Though to his surprise he comes across Rose and Belladonna, along with two other girls. One has ginger hair and a pink and blue outfit, giving off a minor tomboyish vibe. The other is wearing some sort of greek armor that clearly doesn't look practical, but her hair is a brighter shade of red than Rose's almost black dark red hair.
The four of them had then approached Akechi, surprised to see him here. One's a complete stranger, he's met two of them, and he's read about the other one. This is likely members of their class.
"Oh, hey Goro. Didn't expect to see you here." Rose said with a cheerful tone.
"Only friends can address me by my first name." Akechi retorted.
"Oh, so you like to be called by your last name, too?" the ginger asked.
"Too?"
"Oh, Renny prefers to be called by his last name too."
"I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about."
"He's my bestie. My bestie buddy since childhood and forever... It's not fair I'm not on the same team as him!"
"It's okay, we can make plenty of new friends at Beacon." the armored girl said.
"But I don't want new friends, I want Renny!" the ginger said.
"You can still be friends with him. You just won't be fighting alongside him."
The ginger then made an angry snarl and grumbled.
"She's still mad at you, Blake." Ruby said.
"Not my fault you were the first person I ran into." Blake said.
"I was actively trying to get to him, first! But you came along and ruined my plan!" the ginger said.
"This is getting uncomfortable... unless you're here to get your fortunes read, I'll be packing my things." Tomi said.
"Oh, that's right. That's what Ruby brought us here for."
The ginger girl sit down at the table whilst having her body fidget.
"Slow down, you're going to break the chair." Tomi said.
"Sorry." the ginger said.
Tomi began to shuffle the deck, like her usual routine. She then places down the first card. XVII: The Star, upright.
"The Star, upright. Guess your life is building itself back up." Tomi said.
"Yep, we're climbing high." the ginger said.
Tomi then proceeded to place down the second card.
XIII: Death, upright. The card depicts a woman wearing a skull mask whilst dual-wielding scythes, crying blood.
"Death, upright. Usually this is a good card unless this is drawn last. It means you're seeing the end of a chapter of your life, along with change." Tomi said.
"What if it is the card drawn last?" the ginger asked.
"Death."
"Fair enough."
Tomi then gathered the cards again and then drew the third card.
V: The Hierophant, reversed. The card depicts of a male, adult figure wearing cargo shorts and a vest watching over red-headed child.
"The Hierophant, reversed. It seems you're going to end up finding who you really are in the future." Tomi said.
"Well, that's good." the ginger said. "Anyways, I don't really understand this stuff, so I'm just gonna get up and let someone else get a go." the ginger said, getting up.
The ginger had then gotten up, and then proceeded to wait for everyone else to have their fortune read. She waited impatiently and began to pace around.
"You have quite an odd group of friends." Akechi commented.
"They're my teammates." Ruby said. "the ginger-haired girl is Nora Valkyrie."
"Valkyrie? As in the type of warrior-woman?"
"Yep. She chose that last name herself, apparently."
"What is her original last name, anyway?"
"I don't know... she doesn't say."
Well... this is going to be awkward... given that he has to call her 'Valkyrie.' every time he needs to address her name. And in his mind, a Valkyrie does not look like her. Could be worse... could have been named after a color like half of the people here... it's like he's stepped into a Poorly written animated show. Though, he doesn't really indulge in those kinds of works. Wakaba's Daughter would be the type to know this stuff, though.
"And my... (mumbling) friend here is Pyrrha Nikos." Ruby said, introducing her.
"Nice to meet you." Pyrrha said.
"I've heard your name before... in a news article..." Akechi said.
"Oh, I'm not surprised. I'm quite famous."
"I'd figured..."
"Though, you do seem calm for talking to a celebrity."
"I don't bother with idolization. It objectifies people into something they're not."
"That's... a fair point."
"Because it is a good point."
"Anyways... I was finished with my fortune." Blake said.
"Oh, we weren't paying attention." Pyrrha commented.
"Figured. Anyways, I'll just head up back to our dorm and read." Blake said, leaving.
"You four share a dorm?" Akechi asked.
"Yep. Together, the four of us are team RVBP." Ruby said.
"I won't elaborate further, I'd just assume each individual gets their own dorm." Akechi said.
"Why would you even think that?" Pyrrha said.
"Wouldn't educational facilities discourage overt fraternization?"
"It's to teach teamwork, co-operation, and trust. Being that huntsmen and huntresses always work in fours. We had to even get Ruby out of the closet."
"Ruby is a homosexual?"
"A what?"
"Someone who's attracted to a member of the same sex."
"Never heard that phrase before." Ruby said.
"That is a bit odd." Akechi commented.
"You're the odd one, coming up with words and all. When someone is attracted to a certain sex, they outright say it. They don't need a specific word for it." Pyrrha said.
"But ya, I am attracted to girls." Ruby said.
"Good for you, then." Akechi stated.
"What?"
"Didn't you say you had to get out of the closet?"
"Yes. We had to get her out of the closet. She locked herself in the closet one time..." Pyrrha said. Ruby looked embarrassed upon hearing that comment.
"Oh, you meant literally." Akechi said... of course, no one in Akechi's world in his day in age would take that phrase literally.
"Yes, what else could it mean?"
"Never mind, then."
"Okay then... you're quite the strange person."
Akechi refrained from making a remark at that statement and remained calm. He may have been aware of the political situation, but the cultural one? He was ignorant. Apparently, this world has no societal problems with same-sex relations to a degree that terms regarding for them are nonexistent. He'll just have to continue learning about this stuff as he goes on.
"So... are you two going to get a fortune or...?" Tomi asked.
"Me first!" Ruby said, rushing to the seat.
Tomi began to shuffle the cards. The first of the cards began to be drawn down. XVI: The Moon, upright.
"The moon again?" Ruby asked.
"Once you stop deluding yourself, you're gonna stop getting the moon." Tomi stated.
"But I don't know what the problem is!"
"You'll need to figure that out, Ruby. I can't help you beyond having the moon card remind you."
Ruby grumbled... supposedly the moon tarot is a frequent draw for her in every fortune... either the fortune teller is trying to help her overgo some mental problem, or... well, he'll have to find out later.
Tomi then drew the second card. XV: The devil, upright. It depicted a grimm with a woman with black hair and a sword on it.
"The Devil, upright. I suspect a force of darkness to come into your life, soon." Tomi said, sounding worried.
"Oh no... I thought everything would be alright." Ruby said also sounding worried.
A third card was then drawn. I: The magician, upright. The card depicted a knight in white armor holding a guitar and a staff. The knight was not wearing a helmet, revvealing blonde hair.
"the magician, upright. That card represents power, creativity, and potential. I suspect something good to come from that darkness." Tomi said.
"Well, that's a relief." Ruby said, sounding calm. "Though, it's quite ominous of what I could gain from darkness... given it's affiliated with grimm and all."
"But I am not one to dwell on in your future..."
Akechi would stay around... but he may as well leave the downtown for now. Check up on the scarlet chamber, given he has acquired some new Personas, he may as well figure out exactly what to do with them. Given that all but Robin Hood and Loki are quite useless...
The Scarlet Chamber, Time does not exist in this place, Entrance
He enters the scarlet chamber once again, only to be greeted with Airasor. Guess Astaphios is away at the moment. There appears to be another door now present within the scarlet chamber. This would likely assume Astaphaios has granted him a new function.
"Uhm... hi..." Airasor said, awkwardly.
"What's behind the new door?" Akechi asked.
"Oh... well... if you could just uh... follow me." Airasor said, moving toward the new door.
Nonetheless, Akechi followed Airasor toward the door. Curious to see what entails.
The Scarlet Chamber, Time does not exist in this place, Fusion Chamber
The room is red with grey stone flooring and black pattern designs on the wall. There is also an array of pedestals. There are two black ones on opposite ends, and one red one in the middle. All three of them have the same design pattern on them. There is also a monitor with a touch screen in the room. Not sure what this place is... but it doesn't look like it'll cost money to use.
"This is the erm... the Fusion chamber." Airasor said.
"The... fusion chamber?" Akechi asked.
"You will inevitably come across some new personas, and given the first two you have are rather strong... your new ones will end up being weak in comparison..."
"Yes, so this will make them stronger?"
"Yes... but... no? Basically, it takes two of your personas and combines them into one, usually creating a stronger one in the process."
"Usually?"
"Some combinations result in a weaker one..."
"Why?"
"I don't know, it just does."
"Didn't you build this one, too?"
"Yes... but I didn't power it, Astaphaios had to help for this thing!"
"I see..."
Character Change: Goro Akechi - Ruby Rose
Beacon Academy, August 20, Afternoon, Beacon Courtyard
Ruby, Nora, and Pyrrha decided to catch up back to Blake at the dorm to proceed with some training. Despite Pyrrha being the highest performing student, she can't slack off from training. In addition, she has to learn to control Nora. Nora's a good fighter, she's just not that good with taking orders. Blake seems to be more reluctant with their training, but she'll come around. Blake is grateful she's not on the same team as one particular student, though (Pyrrha is also grateful for this fact).
Though, said student's dorm is right across RVBP's dorm. The team consists of four members, Ruby never learned their names because she was late for the teaming ceremony. The white haired, rich girl who exploded in front of her is the leader. There is also the blonde boy who vomitted on the Bullhead, and the green-dressed pink-haired ninja-boy Nora's obsessed with. There is also one other figure which Ruby never actually met. So... she's not very sure what they'd look like.
But on the way back to the dorm, the three of them came across the math teacher, professor [REDACTED]. Though Ominous, he is very friendly... especially towards Ruby.
The math teacher had made his way toward Ruby and her teammates.
"Enjoying your time off?" the math teacher asked.
"Yep, we're just heading back to the dorm so we can go train." Ruby stated.
"Make sure you also keep up your academic studies as well. You'll need to learn what you can..."
"That's a fair assumption."
"It's only a teacher's job to look out for a student's education."
"Yep, my team and I are planning to do a study session after some training."
"That's good. Speaking of your team... I expected you to have different team members."
"Like what?"
"Well, Blake I expected. But I would have expected you to have someone white and cold, and yellow and flaming."
"The leader of the team across from our dorm? And who in Beacon would fit that description?" Pyrrha asked.
"Yang Xiao-Long?" the Math teacher answered.
"Don't. Say. Her. Name." Ruby said, with an irritated voice.
"I must be out of the loop, what happened?" the math teacher asked.
"Wait, I heard that name... didn't she go in jail for killing a police officer and trashing a nightclub?" Nora asked.
"She got arrested? How curious... explains quite a bit..." the math teacher stated.
"Anyways, how about we head back to the dorm... now... and end this conversation..." Ruby said, insistently grabbing Pyrrha and Nora's hands and moving toward the dorm.
Ruby was dragging them across with some rather surprising strength that caught Pyrrha and Nora off-guard. She is heading back to the dorm and ending this conversation. As far as she's concerned, that person is dead to her. Every time someone brings them up, she gets irritated. Could be heartbreak, betrayal, or some other emotion. But the point is: Don't bring up a certain someone around Ruby.
After she had gathered to the dorm, she had then went and met her team at the training grounds.
Beacon Academy, August 20, Afternoon, Outdoor Training Field
The training field is outside of Beacon Academy, close to the garden. There is a line separating the two so no rowdy students would dare damage the garden. Though Ruby doubts a red line would be enough. So, they have their training rather far from the garden and rather near the center of the field. The four of them established some ground rules.
The first rule is that one must knock their opponent down to 50% aura, anything lower than that would cause physical pain to their opponent. Though if training for the tournament, they would reduce it to 15% to prepare themselves. Secondly, one-on-one fights only. If it's a free-for-all or a tag-team, there would not be any real progress made. The third rule is wooden weapons and rubber bullets only. Ruby had made some wooden variants of her team's weapons purely for training. She'd use Crescent Rose, but Pyrrha's semblance makes it hard to actually fight with real weapons, so for training purposes, wooden weapons, equipped with rubber bullets as to Ruby's design are made. In addition, everyone except Pyrrha is not allowed to wear anything metallic so she can't abuse her semblance. Pyrrha reluctantly agreed to these rules.
Why wooden weapons? Well, because of Pyrrha's semblance being polarity. She can manipulate the movement of metal, even non-magnetic metal, so it would mean most weapons a huntsman would use would be inefficient against her. However, it makes training with her a chore since she's prone to subtlety use her semblance in combat at any time. Hence why Ruby made wooden weapons for the team. Though, she had to make the gun and melee weapons separate because it's either wooden weapons that are durable OR wooden weapons that can mecha-shift. Ruby's no woodworker so it was quite hard to do this in the first place. But the results speak for themselves. She also had to order rubber ammunition and make some non-lethal ammunition for Nora's wooden grenade launcher. Despite being made of wood, she's managed to make them actually fire bullets. Though the internal mechanisms are made of Rubber. How Ruby accomplished this was a miracle of its own.
As for the attire, well... turns out she can use the clothing on other people to manipulate their movements, which makes training with her difficult. So, Ruby had to provide non-metallic made clothing for herself, along with Nora and Blake. Pyrrha is allowed to wear metal because it wouldn't be fair if she was denied using her semblance completely. It's also the reason why they went to the dorms in the first place: to get changed. Pyrrha makes training a bit harder for everyone involved due to that semblance of hers.
Firstly, Ruby handed everyone the wooden weapons (yes, even Pyrrha. It'd be unfair if only her weapon was made of metal, giving her an unfair advantage). The wooden weapons are designed in form of the melee forms of each of the weapons they use. It's quite weird in the case for Ruby, like she's holding some fake copy of Crescent Rose... it's just not the same, there's just something wrong with it. It just feels wrong.
So now the sparring initiates. Pyrrha's going first. This is actually the first time they're using wooden weapons, beforehand... everyone was curb stomped by Pyrrha and no real progress could be made... Ruby only figured it out because her semblance DAMAGED CRESCENT ROSE. The blade was bent and bent in a way it was not supposed to be bent. It was subtle, but Ruby noticed something wrong and called her out on it. She maintains her scythe every day, she would notice if her weapon is slightly dented.
Pyrrha will be facing Nora. Nora is a hyper individual, who is quite energetic. She rises ludicrously early, despite sleeping less than everyone else and is hardly ever tired, even then when she sleeps, she sleeps like a log. She spends most of the day exercising as her hobby. Whereas most people do it as an obligation to keep fit, she's more so does so for fun. Though, one may not notice her muscles until she takes off her shirt, in which abs are clearly visible. Though, she shouldn't think about Nora in her underwear, there's a time and a place for those thoughts, this is not one of them. She's very much a heavy hitter and quite handy with explosives. Nora actually taught Ruby to make explosives herself.
However, Nora tends to complain about not being in the same team as her best friend or boyfriend... she calls him: "Renny". She's not sure what her relationship with him is... but they're quite close from what she can guess.
But nonetheless. Nora and Pyrrha gather wielding wooden versions of their weapons. Though, that wooden hammer may still be deadly in Nora's hands... Ruby might need to make something softer for Nora to use in fighting. Though, that would depend on the feedback Pyrrha gives. The two girls face each other. Nora wielding the wooden mallet in Magnhild's image, with Pyrrha having a wooden replica of Milo and Akuo.
"I wanted to fight Blake." Nora complained.
"You'll fight Blake soon enough." Ruby responded. "Now start the spar."
Pyrrha begins by lunging her wooden weapon at Nora, which she misses completely. Nora then countered by thrusting her hammer, which hits Pyrrha... but it doesn't do much damage to her aura.
"Did she just thrust with her hammer?" Blake asked.
"She did... apparently." Ruby responded.
Nora then went and swang her mallet upward at Pyrrha which knocks her back. Pyrrha tries to use her semblance on Nora's hammer... but it's made of wood so it doesn't work. Pyrrha then bashes her shield on Nora and begins to swing downward, only for the swing to get parried by Nora's hammer and then Nora went and swung her hammer again at Pyrrha, who tried to block it but her reflexes were too slow. From the looks of it, one would be surprised that a four-time champion is being curb stomped in a simple spar against someone who in theory should be less skilled and experienced than her. After a series of Pyrrha missing her attacks and Nora landing hers, Nora lands a sideway swing onto Pyrrha, which knocks her down on the ground. Nora went to go for another blow, but Ruby called the match.
"Enough, clearly I've overestimated Pyrrha's skills." Ruby commented, trying to sound as nice as possible. She then went to grab Pyrrha's hand and lifts her up. "Sorry about that, how about you go practice on a training dummy before you can try sparring... clearly you have less skill than advertised."
"I've only ever known how to fight with my semblance. So, I'm not that surprised... though... I'm a bit embarrassed." Pyrrha said with a red face. "But I know this will help me in the long run."
"Since Pyrrha didn't land a single hit on you, Nora. How about you get to fight Blake next?" Ruby offered.
"Sounds good to me." Nora said, cheerfully.
"Are you still mad at me, Nora?" Blake asked.
"A little..."
"Look, sometimes life isn't fair. So how about you work your anger into something that isn't fighting me? Working your anger through violence is a bad habit. I'd never be friends with someone who is quick to anger."
"I still want to fight..."
"Then do it when you're not angry."
"Girls... please stop fighting verbally. But Blake does have a point." Ruby said.
"So you're not letting me fight?" Nora asked.
"Oh, I'm letting you spar. Not fight. You are to merely practice with Blake, you are to see her as her friend during the exchange, just like what you did with Pyrrha."
"Alright, I understand."
The two of them then went to spar. Though, Ruby kept thinking about the latest fortune telling... and the Moon Arcana, along with the dreams about the Butterfly, perhaps they're related. She's deluding herself, but how? And she's shrouded in desires that aren't her own? What could that mean? Regardless, the training session is going well, so far Nora and Blake are fighting like pros. Though, she'll have to train with both of them soon enough, perhaps next week when Pyrrha learns to actually hit her targets, she can join in too. If she is to be a heroine, she'll have to give it 110%.
Character Change: Ruby Rose - Goro Akechi
City of Vale, August 20, Afternoon, Industrial District
Akechi was doing a stakeout. For some reason, the White Fang moved in here. He's going to find out why that would be. If the reports on this movement are true, then they'd make infiltrating Neopolitan's palace even harder. He likely needs Neopolitan to be in a false sense of security around someone, and for Akechi to impersonate that someone in her palace to go deeper in.
He sees a pair of white fang members, going by their uniforms... they'd be mooks. Easily identified by their white and light blue outfits and grimm masks, along with them all being hooded and having various faunas traits. So, he may not get much info on them since they're low on the pecking order. He may as well listen anyway.
"So... why'd the boss move us out of Forever Fall and into the city?" the first mook asked.
"I don't know, he says we need to guard the warehouses. He didn't tell us further." the second mook said.
"Most of the stuff is owned by humans, so why does he care?"
"I did hear he's working with a human. But one with goals that align with ours."
"What kind of human would want the human-run government overthrown?"
"I don't know, but he's doing what he thinks is best for the faunas people, so I trust him."
Suddenly, a girl with orange hair and a pair of glasses walks by... wait a second... he recognizes that look. No, it couldn't be. There's no way she showed up in Remnant too. The outfit is quite similar, though the color of the shirt she's wearing is green and the jacket doesn't have sleeves. Other than that, it's nearly the same. She also appears to be carrying some sort of mechanical box, cube shaped too.
"Well, hold on. I spot a human." the first mook said. "Hey little girl, how about the three of us stop by the nearby warehouse and have some fun? We got some candy, toys, games. Whatever you humans like."
"No thanks. I've got plenty of games back at the dorm." the familiar looking girl said.
"We're not offering. And from the looks of it, you don't have much of a choice." the second mook said, grabbing her.
"Get your hands off of her!" a male voice yelled.
Suddenly, two boys... one of them looking like Jaune Arc, the other is wearing green and has black and pink hair. The former is wielding a sword and shield, and the latter a pair of bayonetted sub-machine guns. Those weapons are basic for this world... but practical. They didn't hesitate to strike down the mooks, with the blond boy attacking the first mook in melee combat, and the second boy attacking from afar. Akechi just watched to see how this would play out.
"Guys, I could have handled it." the girl complained.
"We weren't just gonna sit back and not help." the blonde boy said.
"How about you keep that secret weapon of yours a secret?" the second boy offered. "Surprise tactics only work once, you know."
The girl pouted.
Now Akechi's curious... what's in the box? Well, he'll find out sooner or later. As for the fight, it appears that the two mooks were incapacitated. They were guarding the warehouses... but why? He'll have to investigate further, but not today. Those three folks' kind of ruined the stakeout and no doubt the White Fang are gonna up their security for a bit which means he'll have to wait before entering Neopolitan's palace again.
Though, he has no reason to remain hidden, or to be here... so he may as well leave the industrial district and continue investigating to find a way to change Neopolitan's cognition. As he was leaving, he felt someone tapped his shoulder. He turned around and saw the girl from earlier. Please don't be who he thinks she is, if it really is her, that means the rest of them are here too... and he'll have some words with Astaphaios.
"Excuse me. You're not hurt, are you?" the girl asked.
"No, I'm not." Akechi answered bluntly.
"That's good enough, I'll be going now." the girl said, heading to leave the industrial district.
She just asked if he's hurt? One thing for sure, she doesn't recognize him. Which means she's not from earth... though, why did she come here in the first place? Now maybe he can leave without any interruptions. However, before he could leave, the blonde boy ran up to him in a rush.
"Sorry about that, she's not good with people. Ren, can you go get her?" the blonde boy asked.
The second boy nodded and went to grab the orange haired girl. The two of them are then behind the blonde boy.
"Excuse me, I'll need to leave now." Akechi said, trying to dismiss them.
"Hold up. I'd figured you'd want to know our names, since you may hear about us in the future... I'm Jaune Arc, short and sweet, ladies love it." Jaune said, introducing himself.
"No, they don't." the girl behind him said.
Akechi sighed... he knows there's no escaping someone with a personality like that. So full of themselves that they try to announce their presence on others, even against their will.
"The two behind me are named Lie Ren and Futaba Ishiki. I think they're both from Mistral." Jaune said.
Akechi paused... Ishiki? As in... Wakaba Ishiki? And given her face, personality, and first name... there's no doubt that the two of them are the same person. Though, the Futaba from his world is called 'Futaba Sakura'. What makes this one different?
"Atlas, actually. My mother is from Mistral but moved to Atlas for her job, I was born and raised in Atlas however." Futaba said.
"And what's the state of your mother's mortality?" Akechi asked.
"Me? She's mortal... and alive... if that's what you're wondering."
"And what does your mother do for a living?"
"Robotics."
"So... she doesn't do anything with Psychology?"
"Nope. Why are you asking me these questions?"
"Just checking."
"Checking for what? You're weird." Futaba uttered.
"Anyways, I'd like you to know we're 3 out of 4 members of team WAFL." Jaune announced.
"Waffle?" Akechi commented.
"Waffle is not a color." Ren stated.
"The headmaster said he worked with what he got." Jaune replied. "It's a miracle for team RVBP to get something out of their name... at least it can be pronounced 'Ruby'. At least I think what it's pronounced, only our leader attended their teaming ceremony."
"I think it's pronounced 'Rupie'."
"I'm sure it's 'Rub-P'." Futaba commented.
While those three are arguing over how RVBP's name is pronounced, he went to make his exit. He's going to have some words for Astaphaios.
The Scarlet Chamber, Time does not exist here, Entrance
Akechi entered the scarlet chamber, last time he came here he ended up fusing those four personas into one new one through multiple fusions. Is this how he got his personas? He must have had some patience. Either way, his new persona: 'Jeanne D'arc' may come in handy. However, that's besides the point. He's here to ask about a particular someone.
He only sees Airasor. He needs to see her master.
"Hello... uhm..." Airasor said.
"Can you summon your master, I need to ask him something?" Akechi asked.
"Oh... uh... do you need help?"
"No. I just have a particular question for him."
"Oh... well... erm... I'll get him right away."
Airasor ran off. Akechi waits for a bit. Wonder why he's hardly ever here? He is a god after all, can't he everywhere at once? Though when Airasor returned, a stream of butterflies appear and materialized Astaphaios in a physical form.
"You summoned me, is there a problem?" Astaphaios asked.
"I just have a question. Care to explain to me why I met another version of Futaba Sakura?" Akechi asked.
"Ah. I should have figured. You met her counterpart. Given you're in another world, no doubt you'd meet folks that resemble people from your own world. Know they are similar in personality, but they grew up in different circumstances so no doubt there are obvious differences between the two."
"And I'm guessing it isn't as easy as sharing the same name."
"It is not. Sometimes they may be members of the opposite sex. Don't dedicate time to figure out if X reminds you of Y, it's honestly tiring. But if you do, take it up with Airasor. She'll be more interested in tasks that aren't directly involved with the destruction of the relics. Now if you excuse me." Astaphaios said, disappearing into a swarm of butterflies.
Airasor then cleared her throat. "Ya, counterparts is quite interesting to me... they're like soul-siblings." she stated.
"Do you have one?" Akechi asked.
"I don't know, I'm still trying to learn about myself, honestly. Which is why I look into counterparts in the first place."
"Do you perhaps know who the counterpart of Ruby Rose might be?"
"Mmm... don't know much about her. I could look into it, but it might be a while."
"You may, just don't make it a priority."
"Right."
If counterparts are really a thing, then that means Ruby could very well be a counterpart of his rival. Though, the chances are quite low for that. But he'll have Airasor look into that just to lean on it further.
Though, that would mean another thing... he would have a counterpart on remnant. Whoever they may be is not of Akechi's concern, but it's going to be an experience to meet his counterpart. Perhaps it'd be better if he and his counterpart never meet. Akechi takes his leave for the scarlet chamber, as he did the thing he came here to do so he has no reason to stay any longer.
Author's Footnote: Sorry for long wait, I got distracted by my backlog. I was playing and did beat Morrowind and Cold Steel 1 and 2. But that's not why you're here. Anyways...
Don't worry about who is a counterpart of whom, not gonna be important to the story until Volume 2.
Why 'Jeanne d'arc' as a Persona here? Well, given. A: It's a fanfiction and B: It's a different Wild Card, I'd figured a different deck of Personas would be in line for him. Likewise, I'm not going too deeply in the arcanas of what the personas are as going into them will be spoilers.
What's in the box? It's a secret
I would have figured Pyrrha only knew how to fight with her semblance and would be worse in a fight than Jaune in a situation where she can't use it. Hence why she lost in a one-sided fight against Nora.
The Math Teacher's name itself is also a spoiler, which is why it'll be censored.
And no, I don't have any plans for Remnant Futaba to meet Earth Futaba.
But ya, given all of that. See you next chapter and make sure you vote in the poll.
