AN: This is a Naruto and Final Fantasy Seven Fanfiction only, other franchises and series will be included, this story was inspired by New Game Plus Soldier Edition by SavageThor, if you like this story you should read that one since this is our version of it.
Hector once again returned from a mission with his long-time partner Hiro, except unlike many times before as they ate Hector could hear his daughters talking about something, and for some reason, it was a heated and tense discussion between his daughters, something seemed to be troubling them something awful, and Hector being the loving father that he is, could not simply sit idle and not find out what was troubling his precious daughters.
He walked towards them and suddenly heard four names that made him understand what they were talking about, in some cases yelling about, Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockheart, Aeris Gainsborough, and of course Sephiroth the black one-winged angel. It seems his daughters found his old game collection and decided to play his copy of Final Fantasy Seven.
He wondered why in the world would they do that, that game was expansive, one of the first open-world adventure games Hector ever played, but as amazing and beautiful as the place was, the music was melancholic there was a tinge of better sadness, and desperation on every step of the adventure, once they leave the first city which is Midgard there will be random monster fights in what seems to be every five steps, the number of random encounters was massive, and not even autoplay could make these fights any easier.
He walked over to his daughters and apparently, they were still on the first mission and they were having a hard time dealing with it, "So let me guess girls you are on the first reactor mission right? That mission is a pain I can tell you that, not only do you have drones and other robotic enemies like that sweeper, mounter camera guns, and don't get me started on that scorpion tank, you have to deal with Barrett the idiot who sits on his high horse preaching about how noble his group's mission, preaching to the team all the time."
Audrey looked at her father and began to nod her head, "Yes, Cloud has to pick up most of the slack or fight off enemies just to help them get past the defenses, and even then they think of him as just another member, even when he told them time after time that this mission was a one-time only deal and he was in it for the pay. Jessie is shameless with her flirting even when she knows Cloud and Tifa are practically an item, I mean had it not been because of Tifa asking him to do this, he would want nothing to do with Avalanche."
Hector gave a hearty laugh that shocked his daughters, they rarely hear their father laugh that deeply. "Oh yes, Avalanche the eco-protection group, if only they knew the truth, Barrett has plenty of skeletons in his closet, and Avalanche is not as much of an eco-friendly defender as eco-terrorists, the son of the President of Shinra, the energy company made the group to make life miserable for his father's company just to get his old man to quit or go bankrupt so he could swoop in and take everything for himself, a family of psychopaths if I ever saw one."
"To make matters even worse Cloud is suffering from severe poisoning, and most of his memories and sense of identity are more scrambled than eggs we sometimes eat for breakfast. He tells Barrett he is a Soldier first class, when in reality he never made it past Shinra Grunt, honestly he only was in the Shinra Infantry and that was it. The first class he talks about is his friend Zack."
One of the girls told him to stop giving them spoilers, or he would ruin the entire game storyline. "The storyline I couldn't explain that thing if I tried, it is so knotted and mixed up it would take a miracle to sort it out, it is not linear at all, one thread leads to another while at the same time tied to two or even more threads in a giant ball of messed up stories. "
His daughters were surprised that their father knew so many details until he told them that he played through the entire game when it first came out as the original Final Fantasy Seven, and that thing was called the RPG that would make players cry. The music no matter how sad it was at some points was amazing, and the places he went were amazing and highly detailed, from the slum church to the many different towns and places he visits, the city of the ancients looked like it was a city that was built in the bottom of the ocean.
He spent a few hours giving his daughter grind tips on how to gain everything they need, such as experience and complete SOLDIER challenges that one kid gave him with that thing after he got the materia that helped him analyze the enemies and defeat them in a certain way with using a technique, causing a status effect, or exploiting an elemental weakness.
He also gave them tips as to where to find certain things such as equipment and how to purchase weapons and items from the many merchants and not to mention the side quests that had him either kill many monsters of a specific type or even collect drops he obtained from killing monsters in a certain quantity.
Their daughters said that they often wondered how things would be different if Cloud had the ability to use ninjutsu, genjutsu, and even kenjutsu. It would make it a hell of a lot easier than the actual original game if both Cloud and Zack could use techniques like the characters of Naruto, and they could send dozens of shadow clones to do actual grinding for exp, zenny, and items.
Hector and Hiro were called to the goddess's office a few hours later, after sharing the news about the world they were about to embark on. This world was a unique blend of Final Fantasy Seven, possibly the remake, and Naruto, forming a merged universe. The goddess also revealed that the name of this world was New Game Plus Soldier Edition. As soon as Hiro heard the name, memories flooded back, and he couldn't help but make a special request to the goddess.
Hiro asked the goddess to include more characters from other Final Fantasy series, to which Hector simply said Hiro was simply asking to add more women to the reality so that he would have an even wider pool of women whom he could attempt to seduce and have fun with, to which Hiro indignantly said that was not the only reason he wanted to add them because they could also be a major help to Cloud, Zack and the others in their colossal fight against the very thing that threatens to destroy their world.
Hector could not help but laugh hearing him say that and said why not add also characters for Kingdom Hearts if he was going to tell them that excuse, as far as he knew them there were only two real threats to that universe and that was Sephiroth thanks to him going absolutely insane after finding that horrible incomplete diary in the bottom of the Shinra mansion in Nibelheim. The other threat was the massive alien organism that came down crashing in that meteor which collided and formed a giant crater in the north pole of Planet Gaia. This alien life form was responsible for the death of all the first civilizations of Planet Gaia called the Centras, and the alien was called Jenovah.
"Look I refuse to let that happen to Jenovah or Sephiroth, one killed them due to a plague they were inflicted with and had no control over or cause any of those deaths her body simply spread the disease to anyone near her, and Sephiroth only went nuts thanks to the confusion caused by the faulty date in the documents down in that abandoned Shinra Mannor that was in the town where Cloud and Tifa once called home. That is why I also wanted to add Final Fantasy, there are actual enemies we can use to replace Jenovah and Sephiroth, I know we need bosses and enemies in order to keep the adventure fun and exciting, but they don't have to be the same enemies that Cloud faced off against like in the original game."
The Goddess smiled and said that there was an actual organization that was just as evil or even more so than the ones Hiro wanted so desperately to save, this evil organization was called Organization Thirteen. They could easily take up the roles that Sephiroth, Jenovah, and many of the worst villains in the original once had. So she actually liked the idea of adding both Final Fantasy and even Kingdom Hearts characters to this merged reality but she insisted on adding one more which was she insisted on adding Naruto characters as well since many of the medical ninjas would be a great help in curing many of the strange diseases that inflict that world.
"If we could make it so that they were around before the Centra were around, Orochimaru alone could have treated Jenovah to the point to cure her and without her spreading that disease it means a lot more Centra would survive to their present day and it would not just be Aeris and her mother but many more people. There will be a reason why the planet created those weapons and in this case, I propose that they were not created to stop and keep Jenovah contained and under control but rather they were created to protect the planet should the tailed beasts go out of control. That way we could still have those large weapons in that world and yet have a better target, see."
Hector began to think and said should Tsunade and Sakura also be present they could spread the teaching of medical techniques and make life easier for a lot of people who either became ill or lost a limb after all Tsunade was able to create new arms for Naruto and Sasuke so why not have her do that for so many people that end up losing an appendage or even an eye due to tragedy or war." Hiro mocked and said if he was going to mention Naruto and Sasuke why not have Naruto be the ancestor of Cloud and Sasuke be the ancestor of Sephiroth, that is how both he and Hector could be introduced into that merged reality, they could end up having their spirits fused with Cloud and Sephiroth and simply be sort of spirit guides to both of them, would also help them to keep Sephiroth from going down the path that eventually turned him into a mass killing monster and one of that worlds most feared and hated villains.
She looked at her husband and his friend and began to shake her head, "You are adding way too much, but I do see the reason why so I will allow this, but this means I will have to use more power in doing the modifications than usual, so I am happy to hear that you will not complain if you never actually are able to have a corporeal form. So relax husband at most both of you the best you would ever achieve as to take a physical form would be to teach your descendant the shadow clone jutsu and then form a connection with a shadow clone to take it over, but as you know shadow clone by them will never be as permanent as the one you can produce simply from lack of knowledge and experience. So even if Hiro wanted to be horndog he will not be able to be."
Hector considered this most ironic, he would be stuck basically inside the mind of Sephiroth so that meant not only was he going to have to teach him all his techniques and skills, but also keep him from making some utterly colossal mistakes that could forgive the phrase, drive him to the dark side, all the while guiding him to be a decent and helpful person towards orders some of which may include Cloud. Hiro was quick to tell his friend to suck it up, his situation was not that bad, he, on the other hand, depending on where they looked could end up being the illegitimate brother of Rufus Shinra or his cousin so compared to that anything he phased while being in Sepiroth was small potatoes or at least in Hiro's humble opinion.
Hector finally had enough, "So basically the merged reality is the original Final Fantasy Seven, the Remake version, and a whole lot of other stuff that could have been called DLC if it was really a console game, well if Hiro wants to add so much stuff why not add the magic and item system from DnD while they are doing this stuff. Many of those potions could be absolute lifesavers to hundreds if not thousands of people." His wife was surprised due to two reasons, her husband had not once complained about another reality contaminated with Chakra, and he was the one to mention DnD when before he was the first person against adding that to any reality.
Hector looked at her and told her he knew far too well where they would end up, in a town in the middle of nowhere, something about a friend going off to the mountains thanks to a foolish fairy tale about the story about people being able to reach the peak and being able to meet and speak with their dead loved ones, truly an idiotic tale that probably caused many deaths of those that believe it. "I am well familiar with the daughter of the Lockheart family, and the way she will end up, if things progress as they had before, she will attempt to climb that mountain, Cloud out of concern will go with her to keep her safe, she will fall and cause herself grievous injury, from that moment on the kids in town will blame Cloud for the injury and make him suffer for something that was never his fault."
His wife nodded her head and asked Hector what did he think of the situation, "Those punks used that injury as a justification, without it they would get in trouble for bullying Cloud, so if we arrive before that happens the Hiro can help Cloud to either prevent her injury or even cause Cloud to take the brunt of the fall himself. Uzumaki's vitality would help heal all but most severe injuries he endures. So Cloud would be in no danger at all. As for me personally, I would rather break a bone or two on those punks but clearly that is not the best solution to this particular band of morons."
She looked at her husband and began to laugh, "You have not taken residence in the mind of your supposed decent but you already sound as ruthless and cold-hearted as Sephiroth himself, or maybe I should say Sephiroth will one day sound much like you." Hector thanked his wife for the sweet compliment, but deep down he did not hide one fact, he hates bullies with a deep seething hatred. "The main issue with what you just said is that by the time we get there, Sephiroth has already been serving as a SOLDIER for several years and he will not be anywhere near that reactor for some time, the other problem is that Cloud never realized that Vincent is still alive and asleep in that coffin down in the manor's basement. So if Nibelheim goes up in flames Vincent will not be able to help anyone due to him having to recover from those burns and other injuries."
She had to admit that Vincent was indeed someone who could in fact help Cloud become stronger, he was the assigned bodyguard of Lucrecia, Sephiroth's mother, and as a former member of the TURKS, he was not a slouch when it came to weapons use and combat. There was the added bonus that Vincent absolutely was in love with Lucrecia, but how could they ensure that she would remain in town long enough for Sephiroth to come to Nibelheim so that she could clear up any of her son's misunderstanding due to the attempt to confuse him by leaving faulty and imprecise data in those journals.
Hector suspected Hojo did that intentionally in case anyone someone stumbled into finding those diaries, the information was vague, incomplete, and horribly organized, in other words, this was clearly done by a paranoid man who believed someone would attempt to steal his research to steal the credit for that information. The only way Hector could imagine solving this is to send him ahead of Hiro and enter the mindscape of Sephiroth when he is away from the town, and Hiro enters his mind at the point where Cloud received the injury due to the hard fall that would have injured Tifa instead.
There were two major problems with this approach, by doing this it means Cloud would be left alone for a couple of years with Hiro, and Hector dread to think what sort of thing his friend would teach such a fragile and vulnerable kid. The second is the minute he enters the mindscape and starts to teach him, Hojo and the other researchers will no doubt notice that Sephiroth's behavior has changed, which would make them suspect mind control or even sabotage their research making the situation even harder than it should be.
Let's face it to a madman like Hojo people are either resources or just research materials, Lucrecia herself was a well-respected Centra antropologist before she even came to work for SHINRA. So seeing what he considered his top research product change in a fundamental manner could make Hojo decide to re-evaluate and potentially eliminate him as research material that is no longer viable. If Hojo was abandoned in a room with a metric ton of heartless, he would not be in any danger, the man was utterly and completely heartless, and if someone mentioned that to him the person would get a rather creepy thank you as a result because to Hojo that probably would be the best compliment he had ever received in his life.
Hector could only hope that the fact that his mother lived in Nibelheim and would be present to explain to her son the very intentionally erroneous dairies and documents that his corruption and mistake of believing Jenovah to be his mother would be prevented. The other main thing is that if Orochimaru was allowed to examine and even treat Jenovah or her illness somehow Hector suspected that he would collect as many potential DNA samples as possible, given the fact that in order to get DNA for one of his experiments, Orochimaru had no regret or guilt of desecrating the final resting place of the second Hokage. So he in all honestly couldn't put the possibility that Orochimaru may use the DNA samples he obtained during her treatment to do something similar to what he did with those children and the DNA sample of the second Hokage to recreate the wood release bloodline trait.
Audrey immediately thought of something rather funny and asked if her mother and father remembered that Final Fantasy movie everyone hated. Her mother tells her it was called Spirits Within, what about it? She mentioned that the meteor in that movie caused problems because it had its own lifestream and it conflicted with the one in the world that the meteor landed on, so maybe that is the actual source of the monster's Cloud and the other fight. She mentioned another thing that the weapons created by the planet were meant to be used against tailed beasts that went out of control or when the ten tails appeared since that thing would want to destroy everything that it came in contact with and Audrey remembered that the new game plus timeline was different from the original timeline and the Remake and rebirth timeline and reminded them of that.
Hector had to admit that his precious little girl had actually mentioned some rather interesting ideas and his wife could only agree that her daughter's idea should be included and she did just that to show her daughter that she and her father actually appreciated and acknowledged her intelligence and talent. Hector could only think of one thing as he closed his eyes getting ready to be sent into that reality and that was they added so much stuff, so many different concepts and ideas, that in truth the entire premise and even the basis of that reality were unrecognizable.
They had begun thinking about the many problems with the original story and by trying to plug in and solve those problems, they had done so much to it that it was as if they did not improve the old storyline but remade it into a completely new game reality one that no one could possibly imagine. For a brief moment before he entered that reality, he almost felt like laughing in that insane and almost unrestrained laughter that Tidus did, almost felt like was a proper expression of his bitter sadness and pain.
January 1, 1992.
When he first met Sephiroth who apparently accidentally entered his own mindscape when he had a little too much to drink and hit his head on the roof of one of the troop transport vehicles was no joy to talk to, Sephiroth was ruthless, efficient, and cold when dealing with enemies, but a confident and able talker not one of them. Sasuke was about to have it with this idiot and was close to saying that if this fucking idiot was not willing to listen he would just close his eyes and go to sleep and let the fool suffer that horrible fate that awaits any two-bit villains a humiliating defeat.
Deep down he knew this was his descendant however so he could not simply doom the fool even if that would have been a lot easier. "Just Shut the Fuck UP, do you honestly think your mother is an alien creature that landed on a giant piece of rock that just happens to crash land on this planet, no she is not your mother, do you want the truth if so shut the fuck up and open your ears because I will tell you something that fucking maniac Hojo has no intention of telling you or desire to do so."
Sephiroth only had one question why would he want to listen to a particularly insane hallucination he was having, Sasuke's answer was simple and cut to the point, as he only answered with one word, Power. That was enough to gain the attention of Sephiroth, and so Sasuke began to tell Sephiroth on a large scale the truth of his origin, who his mother was, and that the body they got from the glacier in the north pole was not a Centra or Ancient as Hojo thinks but rather the remains of an alien species altogether.
His mother was a lovely and smart lady by the name of Lucrecia and she was indeed a scientist working for SHINRA but she was an anthropologist studying the past of the Ancients, she had an Ex-lover who was her bodyguard TURK by the name of Vincent sadly they broke up and a little while after that Hojo and Lucrecia started dating. When Lucrecia was pregnant, Hojo injected Jenovah DNA into her, and by extension, he injected it into the newborn that was you Sephiroth. And what is worse is Hojo is your father and "Hojo does not love you as a father, he doesn't love anyone, to him everyone and everything are research materials and tools to be used. You want to meet your actual mother and learn the truth from her, she will be in a town sometime this year where the first Mako reactor was built, on the skirts of Mount Nibel, called Nibelheim. You go there Sephiroth and she will tell you the truth, and you don't want to believe me but you will not be able to deny that she is your mother, and that what I told you is the truth when she tells you something like it."
