Welcome to the end of Season 4! We're finally at the end of this saga, but we've still got a lot to look forward to! Aside from the upcoming Season 5, there's also another big thing I'm hoping to get into. You'll see what I mean as we get a preview as to what's ahead by the end of this chapter.
Last time we left off, things were getting pretty intense, weren't they? We got the reveal of the Dark Stars along with the start of Endeavor's redemption going forward. But also, there's some hints as to what's ahead… And they'll be confirmed in this chapter! Hope you enjoy, everyone!
THROUGH THE ROUGH
"You had a dream about the predecessors?!" All Might and Rebecca exclaimed the next day, sitting in the teacher's lounge with Izuku.
"Uh… yeah…" he replied, "I'm fine, honestly," he assured, "But… I got to see the first user… and All For One…" he mentioned to them.
"Whoa…" his girlfriend uttered.
"And you saw the other predecessors, yes?" All Might inquired, hoping to get confirmation.
"Mostly…" his successor responded, "I couldn't see the second or third users clearly," he admitted, "And yours was like a ghost…" he added, narrowing his eyes.
"Hmmm…" the former hero hummed out, "Could this be a result of you getting a stronger handle on One For All?" he wondered aloud.
"That's what it sounds like to me," Rebecca admitted, "But you've said something like this happened before, right?" she questioned of her teacher.
"Yes, my master told of such a thing," he confirmed in reply, "Through One For All, you're able to meet with those who've come before you," he mentioned, "Though them speaking directly to you is a first for me…" he admitted in concern.
"Whoa…" Izuku uttered. Just then, the P.A. system went off with a buzz.
"Would All Might please report to the principal's office?" Nezu's voice requested suddenly to the group's surprise.
"Well, work calls," the teacher realized, standing up and finishing his cup of tea, "Given the circumstances of what happened, I can't say for sure what you should do next…" he admitted, "But if you feel alright, then don't worry too much over it," he advised.
"Okay then…" Izuku responded, watching his teacher leave with a smile.
"Ah, wait a sec!" Rebecca tried to call out, only for All Might to depart as the door was shut behind him, "Ugh…" she sighed with frustration. Her boyfriend blinked in confusion.
"Is… something wrong?" he inquired.
"Sorta…" she responded with a shrug, "I had another weird dream last night…" she recalled to the One For All inheritor's surprise. Meanwhile, All Might arrived, opening the door to the principal's office. He blinked out of surprise to find Yokumiru there with Nezu and a few suited men, along with Noah.
"Ah, there's the man of the hour," the Eye of God Quirk user noted as he grinned.
"Glenfield…" the former hero uttered out, "What's going on here?" he inquired curiously.
"The Safety Commission's gone and offered up an opportunity for our students," Nezu answered to his shock. Just what was to come of this?
OPENING
Insert "Fleeting Lullaby" by Ado
A spotlight shines upon a stage, where Kyoka, Rebecca, Momo and Homura are. Kyoka wields her bass, Rebecca's sitting at the drums, Momo readies her hands to play the keyboard, and Homura grips her electric guitar tightly. As Kyoka starts signing, more lights flash on, revealing the rest of Class 1-A as they're about to perform.
We cut to Shoto and Katsuki struggling with the provisional license course as Homura watches on alongside All Might and Endeavor. She glances toward the Flame Hero curiously, while a memory of Valkyrie crosses her mind. In the meantime, we get images of Madame Kurenai with her cronies, Garrot, Baku, and Nino; the latter of which appearing reluctant. There's also a shot of the current Shining Star Heroes, who're standing in front of the safe door found at the Hassaikai headquarters.
There's another scene of the League of Villains lurking in the shadows, with Dabi taking note of a particular news broadcast on a TV. Elsewhere, Shura finds himself being confronted by the Oceans 6. He sneers as he readies his Quirk, but is suddenly stopped when Nero appears behind him and slams his head into the ground. He goes through a flashback of his own where as a young boy, he was crying in the corner.
Next up, we see Izuku and Rebecca hopping around in pursuit of Gentle Criminal and La Brava as they bounce about on the way to U.A. Already there is Eri, who's with Mirio and the others who were a part of the raid mission. They and the rest of Class 1-A are about to perform as they head off to the stage inside Gym Gamma.
We go through several scenes of the class in separate groups, with Katsuki and Eijiro arguing over the special effects as the others sigh, Mina practicing the dancing with the class, especially Shiki as Ochaco watches on with a blank jealous stare, and Kyoka, Momo and Homura tuning their respective instruments. The Earphone Jack Quirk user worriedly looks at the clock, hoping that Izuku and Rebecca can make it in time.
As the opening winds down, we see shots of Deadend Crow, God Acnoella, Poseidon Nero, Saintfire Nox, Elsie Crimson, and finally, Tomura Shigaraki. We also get to see the lineup of the top ten pro heroes of Japan: Eraser, Kamui Woods, Crust, Wash, Holy, Mirko, Justice, Edgeshot, Hawks, and Endeavor. As the ceremony goes on, an ominous figure watches on curiously.
The song concludes with Izuku and Rebecca holding hands as they run ahead with smiles on their faces, heading for what they hope is a bright future.
END OPENING
"What?!" Izuku exclaimed quietly, walking down the halls with his girlfriend, "You saw me, Kacchan and you up against a villain standing on a fire tornado?!" he inquired on.
"Hey, calm down…" Rebecca insisted in a whisper, "I was gonna tell you and All Might because of what happened the last time I had a vision that technically came true," she mentioned.
"The last…?" her boyfriend started to say, only to break out into a blush upon remembering what she was referring to, "S-Sorry…" he apologized with a stutter, "So… how are you doing?" he asked in concern.
"Huh…" the Cat Leaper Quirk user sighed, "After everything that's happened in just the first semester, I'm not going to be afraid of what this future sight or whatever this is hold me back," she told him, clenching her fists, "If I just wanted to run from that, what kind of hero would I be?" she questioned rhetorically with a smile. Izuku blinked out of surprise before smiling himself.
"If something like that does happen, I'll stand with you," he promised, grabbing her hands as they came to a stop, turning to face each other, "We'll take on whatever we have to together," he vowed.
"Izu…" his girlfriend uttered, touched by his words. She leaned up to kiss him on the cheek, but suddenly found herself struck upside the head by a box, causing her to topple over onto the floor.
"Ah, Rebecca!" Izuku yelped.
"Ow…" the Cat Leaper Quirk user grumbled with pain, sitting up with the box on her lap, "What the heck…?" she said, arching an eyebrow.
"Manual's inside, Bluegarden! Hope they work out for ya!" Mei's voice pointed out as she herself sped by rather quickly.
"H-Hatsume?!" Izuku yelped out, while his girlfriend stood up with the box in hand. She opened it up, blinking in surprise. Inside were a pair of blue blasters that had protrusions similar to cat ears.
"My new blasters!" she exclaimed excitedly, "I knew Mei was busy, so I didn't think she'd have time to work on these…" she noted aloud, "Goes to show just how dedicated she is, huh?" she mentioned with a grin.
"Yeah…" her boyfriend agreed, remembering what he heard about the Support Course student getting even more involved with her work in the development studio. He had to wonder what she was so focused on. Back at the principal's office, Yokumiru and Noah had just explained the reason for their arrival to All Might and Nezu.
"You want to use Hero Course students? In places where pros aren't available?" the High Specs Quirk user inquired of the Safety Commission members.
"So they'd all be working as heroes without any immediate supervision?" the former pro assumed on.
"Yes and no," Noah responded to their surprise, "You see, after all that's happened, this society's been thrown directly into chaos," he pointed out, "With you effectively retired, All Might," he continued, "we need to start cultivating the next generation as quickly as possible," he told him and the principal.
"As such, we'll have the students doing hero work, while pros will be in the background evaluating them," Yokumiru mentioned thoroughly.
"I see," All Might concluded as he glanced down in thought, "So who would you recommend go with our students?" he inquired curiously.
"The Shining Star Heroes seem the most capable of fulfilling that role," Noah affirmed in response, "Witch and Hermit can act as logistical support for the students, while Sister can be their doctor," he added, "I think it'll all work out splendidly," he affirmed with confidence.
"Well, I can't argue with that," Nezu concurred, "So, where would you think to send our students for the time being?" he inquired curiously. A few more minutes passed before the Safety Commission members left the room with All Might in tow.
"Oh, All Might," Noah said, getting the former pro's attention, "I was hoping to offer you my condolences for Sir Nighteye," he told him, much to his surprise as he blinked.
"Thank you, Glenfield," he said gratefully, "I'm certain he's happy with that sentiment," he added with a grin. The Eye of God Quirk user chuckled. However, a more serious expression came across his face.
"How is Rebecca doing?" he inquired.
"Uh, fine…" All Might asked, "She's been quite well lately," he pointed out, "She even managed to unlock her Overdrive a while back during that fiasco with the Hassaikai," he mentioned.
"I see…" Noah said, "Then she must already be aware of that…" he affirmed on. The former pro's eyes narrowed.
"You're talking about Saintfire Nox, right?" he assumed.
"Yes," the Safety Commission member responded, "Whatever her plans may be, Rebecca is involved," he affirmed, "She likely won't hesitate to go after her at some point," he mentioned seriously.
"Is that why you recommended the location for Class 1-A to do temp hero work?" All Might guessed.
"…Perhaps," Noah admitted in reply, "Either way, I wouldn't worry," he advised, "That girl and her friends are going to be the new generation of heroes," he stated confidently, heading off, "Take care, All Might," he remarked in farewell. The teacher waved goodbye, wondering what was to come of this ordeal.
X
"The Hero Work Recommendation Project," Shota Aizawa said from within the classroom of Class 1-A, displaying a topographical image of an island on the interactive chalkboard, "You'll be stationed here," he told the class, "on Nabu Island in southern Japan," he added, walking over to the podium, "Seems their previous hero in residence got old and retired," he mentioned, "So the lucky people of Nabu Island will have to depend on you until a permanent successor arrives," he explained.
"WE'RE REALLY DOING REAL HERO WORK?!" most of the students in the class exclaimed out of excitement. Many of them began shouting about how happy they were with the news. After all that had gone down in their first year as students, they were finally being put to the test in the actual field.
"Alright!" Shiki roared as he bounced up from his seat. Among those who didn't seem excited were Katsuki and Izuku. They looked rather serious.
'This isn't an internship… or a work study…' the latter of the two realized inwardly, 'We're talking about the real thing…' he noted to himself, 'Becoming a hero has been my dream since I was little…' he remembered vividly, knowing full well of the hardships he had gone through as a once-Quirkless kid, 'and now, it's happening…' he said through his thoughts, ignoring all the chatter around him.
"I wasn't done talking yet…" Shota interjected as his black hair started sticking up wildly, "Quiet down!" he ordered with his eyes flashing a bright red. Everyone immediately stopped talking and sat back down in their seats. "Better," their teacher said, letting his hair fall back down, "While you're there, you'll be completely on your own," he pointed out to the students, "No teachers to help you or pros to back you up," he added, "You're responsible for everything that happens, good or bad," he told them seriously, "Keep that in mind," he advised as everyone carefully listened, giving off determined looks, "And behave as heroes should at all times," he mentioned, "Understood?" he asked of his students.
"Yes, sir!" most everyone responded eagerly. Later that day as lunch rolled around, everyone was excitedly talking about the opportunity laid before them.
"Ooh, I can't wait!" Mina exclaimed excitedly.
"We're actually gonna be doing hero work of our own, before we're even graduates!" Ochaco pointed out with a smile.
"Keep in mind, this isn't meant to be treated as if it was a game," Momo advised of the two, "We're meant to be heroes, first and foremost," she said firmly.
"Don't worry, Yaomomo!" Mina reassured, heading for the door, "We're gonna be on our A-game once we're out in the field!" she vowed, "Now let's grab some gru—!" Her sentence was interrupted as she squished face first in between the breasts of Sister, who blinked in surprise before smirking.
"Well, whaddaya know…" she said.
"AAAHHH!" the Acid Quirk shrieked, falling onto her bottom and quickly crawling back.
"Oh, Sister Ivry…" Tenya greeted, only to spot both Witch and Hermit as well.
"What are you doing here?" Weisz inquired, arching an eyebrow.
"Apparently, Shota failed to mention that we will be coming with you as logistical support for your work in the field," the Sorcery Quirk user explained in response.
"So you've got us to count on during the project!" Hermit affirmed, "Just not with the hero work stuff," she mentioned with a wink.
"And if any of you get hurt, I'll fix you right up~…" Sister added, licking her lips as she looked over to Mina, who shivered.
"NO, LET ME STAY AT SCHOOL INSTEAD!" she begged, clinging to Rebecca's legs for dear life.
"Come on, Mina…" she grumbled with a nervous chuckle. Witch looked over at the Cat Leaper Quirk user, seeing her to try reassure her frightened classmate. A guilty frown came across her face as she remembered last night's brief conversation.
"Hey, you good?" Sister inquired upon noticing her expression. She blinked in surprise, shaking her head slightly.
"I'm fine, Sister," she assured in reply. The rest of the day went by as normally as possible, with Class 1-A continuing to train as best they could with their Quirks. With her new blasters in hand, Rebecca shot down several concrete slabs with ease.
"Alright!" she exclaimed excitedly as others watched on from afar.
"Looks like your girlfriend's got a new set of toys, Midoriya," Denki commented to the One For All inheritor, getting his attention.
"Oh yeah, her new blasters," he noted in reply, "I'm glad Hatsume was able to make them before the project starts…" he mentioned as he stretched his legs, "I've heard she's been a lot busier lately," he added in remembrance.
"Inventors need time, apparently," Weisz commented as he approached, "She wound up kicking me out the second I finished up my latest support item…" he mentioned.
"Oh, bro…" Denki uttered with a wince.
"Wait, you got a new support item?" Izuku inquired curiously.
"Yeah, in place of the old Arsenal armor," the Machina Maker Quirk user responded as he glanced at the watch-like contraption upon his right wrist, "I'm hoping mileage and crap won't be bad compared to last time…" he grumbled in admittance, "I might've taken down some of those Hassaikai bastards, but I still gotta get better if I wanna live up to the names of pros," he told his classmates, giving off a confident grin.
"Yeah," Izuku agreed. Elsewhere in the gym, Homura was swinging her energy blade about ferociously, slashing down concrete slabs. Watching from afar were Kyoka and Tsuyu.
"Now that I think about it, isn't Kogetsu the only Ether-type in our class who doesn't have Overdrive yet?" the former guessed.
"I wouldn't be surprised if she's saving it for something like the Sports Festival…" the latter presumed with her right pointer finger upon her cheek.
"I still can't believe she was able to convince Todoroki to bring her to his house…" Toru mumbled from afar with her gloved fists clenched.
"She's totally into him…" Mina commented.
"Magimech Attack…" Shiki began, cloaking his right fist in a greenish light, "GRAVITY FIST!" he exclaimed, slamming his extremity through a concrete slab in front of Cementoss, who nodded.
"Excellently done, Granbell," he complimented, making the Satan Gravity Quirk user smile. From afar, Ochaco and Momo watched on, sighing happily. The moment they heard each other though, they blushed bright red, turning away. Noticing, Kyoka groaned.
'Hopeless as ever…' she mumbled inwardly. Izuku let green sparks of bio-electricity crackle around him as he leapt out, swinging his right leg toward a few slabs to smash them to pieces. He cracked a grin, only to yelp as an explosion occurred nearby, forcing him to stumble back. As the smoke settled, he could see Katsuki there with a disgruntled look upon his face. He glanced over to his rival, who seemed hesitant for a moment. But he clenched his fists and steeled himself.
"Hey, look at that…" Hanta commented, getting the others' attentions as they looked over to see the pair standing off. Tension filled the air for the next few moments. So much had happened in the first year at U.A. already, especially when it came to Izuku and Katsuki.
"Izu…" Rebecca uttered worriedly.
"Is there a problem, boys?" Cementoss inquired as he approached alongside Shiki.
"No, sir," Izuku responded, "We're just gauging how far we've come compared to when we started," he told his teacher, causing the Explosion Quirk user to blink in surprise.
"I see…" the Cement Quirk user said, narrowing his eyes slightly, "Well, you can carry on," he affirmed, heading off to work with a few of the other students. The One For All inheritor then walked off, passing by his rival.
"Hey," he said, causing him to stop, "How much stronger do you think you are now?" he inquired to his surprise. However, he didn't falter.
"Strong enough to be a hero," he answered, "But that doesn't mean I won't get stronger," he affirmed on, clenching his fists, "And I know you won't, either," he added, causing Katsuki to scoff before he trudged off.
"Whoa… that was intense…" Eijiro admitted from afar.
"Midoriya's so freakin' cool when he does that…" Minoru commented, clenching his trembling fists, "Man, why can't I be that cool?!" he grumbled in question.
"'Cause you're a bit of a scaredy cat?" Denki guessed as a reply, much to the dismay of the Pop Off Quirk user as he dropped to his hands and knees. Meanwhile, Rebecca went over to her boyfriend.
"Looks like he's not gonna be much trouble anymore…" she noted, getting his attention.
"Yeah…" he responded, watching Katsuki blast apart more concrete slabs with his explosions, "It's nice to at least have somewhat of a normal conversation these days," he confessed further to the Cat Leaper Quirk user's surprise, "Still, he's my rival," he pointed out, "I can't fall behind," he vowed firmly.
"Neither can I," his girlfriend said, causing him to blink in shock before he glanced over to her, "Come on, you don't think I wanna get stronger after everything that's happened lately?" she inquired rhetorically, "If we have to go up against guys like Drakken Joe, Shigaraki, the Saintfires, and all kinds of other villains, I'm gonna need to step up my game," she declared. Izuku gave off a smile.
"And I'll be there to help you all the way," he vowed additionally, granting her a sweet little kiss to her cheek as she giggled. However, their moment of levity was interjected as a familiar scarf wrapped around and tightened on the One For All inheritor's neck. "GAH…!" he gasped out.
"AHHHH!" his girlfriend yelped in shock.
"Can't believe I have to make sure I bring this up…" Shota muttered as he approached with his scarf in hand, "But I guess I should just to make sure everyone's on their best behavior," he concluded with a sharp glare.
"M-Mister Aizawa?" Rebecca stuttered.
"I'll ask Witch to make sure you two aren't up to anything during the project," he told the pair, causing them to gasp as their faces reddened, "After all, you still haven't regained my trust just yet," he mentioned seriously.
'We're still in the doghouse?!' both Izuku and Rebecca exclaimed inwardly.
"Mister Aizawa doesn't like romance, huh?" Mina assumed.
"He didn't exactly get along with Miss Joke from the licensing exam…" Tsuyu recalled.
"I'm sure he's only trying to encourage Midoriya and Bluegarden to stay focused," Momo affirmed as she walked over, "In that sense, we should all do the same," she declared as she clenched her fists.
"Yeah!" Ochaco agreed with a nod. As the others of Class 1-A continued their training, they were all looking forward to the prospect of working as heroes, even if it was for just a short time. But they didn't realize what lurked around the corner for them, even as they were about to get shipped off…

"What the hell…?" Spinner uttered at the sight of the massive, armored truck in the warehouse he and his colleagues just came to.
"Must be quite the payload…" Maria realized, taking her lollipop out of her mouth, "You sure this is the place, Compress?" she asked of the hatted man beside.
"But of course," he responded, "From what Shigaraki said, this is a favor for Ujiko," he told his comrades, "We're to take this transport to the location registered in the GPS, and then we're done," he confirmed.
"So who's drivin'?" Dabi inquired. All eyes turned to Spinner.
"Wh-Wha…?!" he stammered, "Why me?!" he questioned, raising his hands up.
"You drove quite eloquently the last time," Compress noted.
"Besides, you're the only lizard who knows how to drive," Dabi muttered. Hearing that elicited a growl from Maria.
"Call him that again, and I'll kill you…" she threatened suddenly to everyone's surprise.
"H-Hold on…" Spinner stammered, getting his colleagues' attentions, "I'm sure I can drive this thing…" he affirmed, "It's just bigger than the last truck…" he pointed out.
"Well, let's make haste and get onstage," Compress insisted, heading to the vehicle with his comrades. Dabi and Maria exchanged a glare with each other before boarding. Inside the sealed compartment of the truck was a vat containing the white-haired, fair-skinned man from before. Alongside it were Killer and Clown.
"Seems Doctor Garaki is ready to let us enter the spotlight," the former affirmed.
"Hehehee…" the latter giggled, "Oh, I can't wait to see their faces…" he added with a sadistic smile. Their place in the upcoming ordeal was about to be unveiled…
ENDING
Insert "Shikisai" by Yama
Opens with Rebecca waking up for the day in her dorm room, tiredly crawling out of her bed. She makes it to the bathroom, only to widen her eyes with terror at the sight of how messy her hair is. Luckily, a comb is passed to her from Tsuyu, who she thanks.
Later that morning, Rebecca enjoys her breakfast before being given a cup of tea made by Momo. What follows is her going over to play a video game with Mina and Toru on the Switch before they have to go class. It rains on the way, though Rebecca forgot her umbrella. Thankfully, Mezo comes over, using his patagia to shield her from raindrops.
In the classroom, she talks with both Tenya and Shoto about studying, asking them for pointers. As Shota walks in to start class, she scurries back to her seat, only to find a note there. She opens it up and smiles to see that it's from Izuku, who she shoots a smile toward.
In the afternoon during lunch, Kyoka saves her a seat in the cafeteria. She's also kind enough to shoo away a pesky Minoru, though he was only making sure Rebecca didn't touch a piece of gum left under the table. As the class returns from lunch, the Cat Leaper Quirk user trips by accident, only to end up caught by Mashirao's tail. The two of them share a smile and then a laugh.
During hero training, Rebecca gets the chance to spar against Ochaco, Hanta, and Homura. She weaves past the Zero Gravity Quirk user, evades the tape of Hanta, and then closes in to land a kick on the crossed blades of Homura, who cracks a grin. The four of them continue as All Might, Witch and Shota watch on.
Yuga later offers Rebecca some cheese as a snack, which she happily accepts. She also goes the development studio with Weisz and Denki, as the three of them are met with an explosion as a dirtied Mei laughs sheepishly. With a long day nearly done, Rebecca returns to the dorms to find Koji there with his bunny in hand, allowing her to pet it warmly. She then goes over to Rikido, asking him about a favor.
Once dinner's over, Rebecca puts on an apron and starts baking, whisking eggs and mixing flour with water. Fumikage and Eijiro watch on curiously with intrigue, followed by Katsuki approaching. He takes a taste of the batter to Rebecca's shock and anger, only for her to realize that she almost missed adding some vanilla. After a little while, she pulls out a baking sheet from the oven with several cookies upon it, decorating them for Halloween.
As the class goes ahead and partakes in her baked goods, the Cat Leaper Quirk goes over and offers Izuku a treat in the shape of a heart. He smiles and blushes, eagerly eating it. Afterwards, the whole class gets themselves ready for a movie night. Shiki floats over with a bowl of popcorn and other snacks, landing on the couch between Ochaco and Momo. With the remote in her hand, Rebecca presses the play button… and the screen goes black.
END ENDING
And that ends Season 4! A brief chapter, but one necessary in order to move things along as we're now about to get into the Heroes: Rising Arc! I'll tell you this, it's going to be quite the fun spectacle compared to my earlier adaptation. And it'll be intense, too.
No preview this time, though. I'll leave things to your imaginations as to what you can expect from the upcoming arc this summer. Hope you're all excited! And thanks for reading!
