Hey folks, how's it going? Can't believe this story's reached 160 chapters… Believe it or not, Season 5's still got a while to go. Between both the rest of the season and the original content to come, there's also the upcoming adaptation of 'World Heroes' Mission' I'll be doing for the story.
But I'm confident that I'll be able to get those things done. For now though, it's back to the Endeavor Agency Arc! Enjoy!
THROUGH THE ROUGH
"Feather?" Holy's voice chimed in, getting her fellow I.U.A. Hero's attention as she opened her eyes, "Are you alright?" she questioned as they were gathered together in the conference hall of their agency with Justice and Eraser.
"Yes, of course," the Eye of Venus Quirk user affirmed in response, "I was just attempting to do some reconnaissance on a person of interest," she pointed out. Holy blinked in surprise.
"And who might that be…?" she wondered curiously.
"Enough chatter," Justice chimed in to her annoyance, "We have an important matter to discuss," he noted as a holographic screen came up, showing an image of a docked ship at a port, "Recently, there've been a string of incidents regarding stolen equipment from the Port of Kobe," he told his colleagues, "mainly rare metals and technology," he explained further.
"You think the League's involved?" Holy presumed, arching an eyebrow.
"No, this isn't their style," Justice confirmed in reply, "And I don't think it's Elsie, either," he mentioned.
"Finally not getting so obsessed with that pirate?" Eraser jokingly remarked, causing him to scoff.
"I'm not as concerned with her, especially with the mole we have in place," he affirmed in response to his and everyone else's surprise.
"Mole?" Holy repeated.
"You actually managed to have someone infiltrate Elsie's ranks?" Eraser inquired out of shock, sweating a little.
"That's not important right now," Justice stated, "Huh…" he exhaled, swiping his finger across the holographic monitor, "The technology and equipment were part of a decommissioned project on I-Island set to be sent here to help with medical research at Central Hospital," he explained, "Along with that, there are reports of weaponry theft in some parts of the country," he mentioned further.
"Weapons and technology…" Holy noted aloud.
"That obviously can't be good," Eraser said.
"It certainly isn't, especially with an uncertainty looming in the air," Justice confirmed as he stepped forward, letting the holographic monitor disappear, "While Mirko's out looking for the League, we need to be vigilant of anything that could transpire," he advised of his comrades, "There's no time for us to be waiting for villains to strike," he said, "After Deika, we heroes need to reassure the public," he insisted.
"Right," Feather agreed, while Holy and Eraser nodded. Elsewhere, Hawks was walking through the villa halls, whistling with his hands stuffed into his pockets. His infiltration was successful so far, and no one seemed suspicious of him, in spite of his standing as the number two hero. Yet he was still troubled by one thing in particular.
"Hawks," a voice greeted, getting his attention. He turned to see Cure there, causing him to tense up a little.
"H-Hey, Cure!" he stuttered out, "Didn't expect to see you here today…" he noted cheekily.
"The PLF's keeping a close eye on me for obvious reasons," the I.U.A. Hero pointed out, "The same goes for you, I presume," he said.
"Got me there," the Fierce Wings Quirk user admitted, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
'I gotta be careful around Cure…' he noted to himself, 'If he was a sleeper agent like me, then the Commission would've told me in advance, right?' he assumed inwardly, 'Or this a separate mission that he's doing to get closer to Nero?' he wondered on, 'Either way, better to not make him suspicious,' he decided through his thoughts.
"Well, I gotta get myself over to the big bosses," he pointed out to his fellow hero, "Another day of rounds getting people to look at those books!" he mentioned as he walked off.
"Hawks," Cure said, causing the Wing Hero to stop for a moment, "…I'm glad to know that you've chosen to join this cause," he told him, "It'll give our world far more freedom than it's ever had," he affirmed.
"Yeah… it'll be great," the Fierce Wings Quirk user agreed, heading on his way. He didn't know what Cure's intentions were. And he couldn't worry about them for now. What he needed to focus on was what the villains were planning next…
OPENING
Insert "Kaibutsu" by Tani Yuuki
Opens with Rebecca getting into her winter costume, donning her cat ears and blue jacket before stepping out of the locker room. She smiles as she spots Izuku, Katsuki, Shoto, and Homura, as they're all gathered at the Endeavor Agency together. They walk into the main office, finding themselves greeted by Endeavor, Burnin, and the other sidekicks, ready to start another day of work.
We see the five interns struggling to keep up with Endeavor as he speeds ahead, saving lives and stopping villains. For a moment, he hesitates upon thinking of his family laughing at the dinner table without him. Meanwhile, Gowen is hanging out in an abandoned warehouse with Elsie and the rest of the crew, glancing out a window to see the Flame Hero he once worked under acting like more of a hero than he remembers. He turns away to gather with his colleagues, whom all don't notice the smirk on Jesse's face.
Elsewhere, Madame Kurenai marvels at the sight of the red mech suit being built for her, with her cohorts standing behind her. Nino grimaces worriedly before looking away. We get shots of the Paranormal Liberation Front, including Tomura as he enters a vat and closes his eyes, being sent into a deep slumber. Dabi is out in the city, overlooking how Endeavor and his interns are faring in fending off villains.
Katsuki blasts himself away from Baku, who swings blades of energy his way from his axe. Izuku protrudes his Blackwhip from his right arm, imitating Spider-Man as he swings about while evading the many Punishers heading his way. They're shot down by Rebecca, who winks with a grin before taking care of more foes.
Next, we find a scene of Homura coming face-to-face with Kurenai for the first time, as she opens her arms to welcome her. However, Shoto suddenly steps in between them, igniting the flames on his left side threateningly. Kurenai smirks, hopping into her mech as it towers over the two U.A. students. They take ready stances before starting a battle.
There are shots of Deadend Crow, Poseidon Shura, Tomura Shigaraki, God Acnoella, Elsie Crimson, and Saintfire Nox, as they all give off ominous auras. We also see the likes of Justice, Mirko, Holy, Eraser, Feather, and Cure, though the latter looks away. There's also shots of the other students on their internships, with Kleene and Ochaco flying alongside Nejire and Ryukyu, with Tsuyu riding aboard the Dragoon Hero's back. Weisz, Eijiro and Tetsutetsu gorge on takoyaki with Fat Gum, while Tamaki sulks in the corner, unable to keep up with their energy.
Kyoka and Mezo are interning under Gang Orca with Laguna and Hitoshi. The Tears Lover Quirk user notices that Kyoka's home screen on her phone is a picture of her and Rebecca from the school concert, which she blushes at. She yelps in embarrassment upon realizing that Laguna saw, while Mezo and Hitoshi blink in confusion. Shiki flies alongside Fumikage as they soar after Hawks, who's lost in thought over whatever the Paranormal Liberation Front is up to.
The song winds down with the interns at Endeavor's agency taking a much-needed break, having snacks and drinks atop the building's roof together. Rebecca lovingly leans against Izuku's shoulder, while Homura winds up holding hands with Shoto as they stare at the sunset together. Katsuki scoffs and trudges away, but not before taking one last glance at Rebecca and letting off the tiniest of smiles.
END OPENING
"So the thing is, Endeavor only planned on training Shoto and Valkyrie for this work study," Burnin pointed out to the group of U.A. students at the agency, "But don't you worry!" she assured to the trio of Izuku, Rebecca, and Katsuki, "Us sidekicks'll take good care of you!" she promised.
"I only came here to see how the number one hero works up close!" the Explosion Quirk user shouted.
"You'll still get to see him in action, Kacchan!" his rival pointed out, "Can you please calm down?" he requested, while his girlfriend sighed deeply. Meanwhile, Shoto glanced over to Homura, who was managing to keep her composure in spite of what had happened earlier.
"Hey, Burnin?" he said, getting the sidekick's attention as she looked over, "Did you happen to hear about my interview?" he inquired, causing Homura to blink in surprise as she blushed.
"Oh yeah!" the Blazing Hair Quirk user exclaimed, "Endeavor said it was good, but you were a bit stiff," she pointed out in remembrance, "Why'd ya ask?" she questioned curiously.
"There was a rumor that started spreading after about me and Homura," Shoto noted in response, causing the Soul Blade Quirk user to squawk as her face went bright red.
"Oh…" Burnin uttered upon realizing, "The whole 'Shomura' thing?" she guessed.
"Yeah," the Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk user confirmed with a nod, while steam hissed from his classmate's head.
"Don't you worry, Valkyrie!" the sidekick assured, patting her on the back, "No one here's gonna tease you over some stupid hashtag online!" she promised, "If anything, they'll be jealous that you and Shoto work so well together!" she pointed out.
"Th…Thank you…" the Soul Blade Quirk user stuttered in embarrassment.
'Poor Homura…' Rebecca noted inwardly, looking over to Endeavor's office doors, 'Wonder if he's absorbed in that book Hawks gave him…' she said to herself while holding up her own, 'Meta Liberation, huh?' she read. Within his office, the Flame Hero had gotten Hawks' encrypted message through the highlighted parts of the book. The villains were strategizing, coming up with a way to crush the heroes. So it was up to him to prepare his colleagues for battle, and that included training the ones here for work studies.
'What a mess…' he grumbled inwardly, heading for his doors as they opened automatically, 'But I suppose it's meant to be insurance…' he concluded through his thoughts, approaching the quintet of U.A. students.
"Shoto, Deku, Bakugo, Aoneko, Valkyrie," he listed off, getting their attentions, "I'll be looking after the five of you myself," he confirmed to their surprise.
"Wait, really?" the Cat Leaper Quirk user inquired with a smile, "That's awesome! Thank you!" she exclaimed with gratitude.
"Don't get too excited," the Flame Hero advised, causing her to flinch, "Now get yourselves dressed," he instructed, "We'll get started soon," he said.
"Y-Yes, sir!" Izuku and Rebecca stammered out. As the students went to get themselves dressed in their costumes, the Cat Leaper Quirk user glanced over to Homura, who still seemed rather anxious. Even though it didn't seem like Endeavor cared about whatever had happened between her and Shoto, it didn't make her feel less awkward about the situation as a whole.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Rebecca inquired, getting her attention, "You're worried that Endeavor's gonna think something's up with you and Shoto?" she presumed. The Soul Blade Quirk user looked down ashamedly.
"Isn't there?" she questioned back, "By now he's likely seen that Shoto and I are much closer than before…" she pointed out, "What if he starts asking questions? What if I start panicking again?!" she asked on frantically.
"Homura, hey…" the Cat Leaper Quirk user chimed in, getting her attention as she approached, putting a hand onto her shoulder to help calm her down, "Everything's gonna be just fine," she promised, "Endeavor's not worried about you two being a couple or anything," she affirmed, "He's probably more focused on getting us trained," she pointed out, "Besides, I think you and Shoto would make a great couple!" she complimented with a big smile.
"Y-You think so?" Homura stuttered in question, earning a nod in response from Rebecca. She managed to smile a little as she blushed. "I'm glad…" she said. Moments later, the pair of girls joined their classmates in the gym. Endeavor stood in front of them with his arms folded over his chest and his flames waving brightly around him.
"Before we begin…" he started to say, "I'd like for all of you aside from Shoto to tell me about yourselves," he advised, "What are you currently capable of? And what weaknesses are you looking to overcome?" he questioned of them.
"I want to perform at my fullest," Izuku chimed in as he clenched his gloved left fist, "but in order to do that, I need to get better control over my power," he pointed out.
"So I recall…" Endeavor noted, remembering how Izuku had broken his fingers multiple times in the effort to try and defeat Shoto during the Sports Festival.
"I've learned to control it enough so that I don't hurt myself," Izuku pointed out, "Uh, however…" he continued nervously, "Eh… recently there's uh… this other thing…" he pointed out as an annoyed Katsuki glared at him, "My power… it's… manifested in a way that I haven't experienced before…" he admitted.
"Show me," Endeavor instructed. Positioning his fingers like he remembered, Izuku was able to shoot out a black energy tendril that latched onto the wall. The sidekicks looked on in surprise, while the Flame Hero narrowed his eyes. "Why the anxiety over such a useful ability?" he inquired of the One For All inheritor.
"Well, I can only control it for about a few seconds," he replied, letting the energy tendril disappear, "And the first time it manifested, it went berserk with more than just one Blackwhip," he mentioned further.
"Hm," Endeavor huffed, "Explain what you want to do with that power," he advised.
"Well, it's flexible like a whip and could be really versatile and help me move around," Izuku told him, "I want to turn it into a useful weapon like I did with Air Force…" he mentioned, "Oh, you don't know about that…" he realized. From there, he went into a whole spiel of explaining, his mouth moving practically a mile a minute.
"I forgot how Midoriya tends to drone on…" Homura pointed out.
"He always gets this way when it comes to talking about hero stuff…" Rebecca noted with a simple, small smile.
"He's talking so fast that I totally lost the thread!" Burnin exclaimed.
"It's quite the self-analysis…" Shoto commented.
"Ergh… shut up!" Katsuki growled out.
"I see," Endeavor said after a moment, "At heart, you're saying you want to be able to constantly adjust power levels and outputs?" he presumed.
"Yeah," Izuku responded.
"And you understood all that?!" Burnin exclaimed in question, "No wonder you're number one, sir!" she pointed out. Endeavor glanced down for a moment in thought, thinking back to when he met the One For All inheritor for the first time and got to see him in action.
"You've had trouble controlling that power," he noted, "Trust me when I say that you're not alone," he affirmed. Izuku gave off a confused expression as he looked away for a moment. "You, your turn," the Flame Hero said to Katsuki.
"I'm only here to find out what I can't do," he answered simply.
'Ego…' Rebecca muttered inwardly with a sigh.
"Haha!" Burnin laughed, "Kid's a cheeky one, huh?" she noted.
"Shut up!" Katsuki shouted back at her, "And why're you even here, anyway?!" he questioned on out of frustration.
"Oh, I'm on standby, honey," the Blazing Hair Quirk user responded cheekily.
"That's more of a burn on yourself…" Rebecca pointed out with a nervous grin.
"I meant what I said," Katsuki affirmed, causing her to blink in surprise, "There's a lot I can do with the raw power of my Quirk, but I've learned that's not enough," he noted, "I showed up here to figure out what'll make me even better," he told his new mentor, "And to surpass you," he added. His classmates looked on at him, shocked by his announcement.
'This kid…' Endeavor uttered inwardly.
"I guess it's the same for me in a way…" Rebecca chimed in, getting his attention, "Uh, I mean…" she stuttered nervously, "My Quirk gives me the ability to go really fast through time, but also reverse it to a point," she explained to the astonishment of the Flame Hero, "I also have my Overdrive, which lasts for a few minutes and gives me amazing strength," she mentioned, "The thing is, I don't want to have to rely on those tools all the time…" she confessed, holding out her right hand and closing it slowly into a fist, "I don't want to just become stronger, I wanna be smarter," she affirmed, "I want to be able to quickly assess a situation and know what I need to do to the best of my ability," she explained thoroughly.
"Rebecca…" her boyfriend uttered out in surprise.
"Hmph," Katsuki scoffed, "Don't try copying me, you stupid cat," he muttered, causing the Cat Leaper Quirk user to glare at him with annoyance. Endeavor stared at her for a moment before turning his attention to Homura.
"And what about you, Valkyrie?" he inquired, making her perk up.
"Um… well…" she stuttered, "In the past, my master would always to drive her foes into close-quarters for combat…" she pointed out, "But for my case, sometimes that doesn't work for me," she admitted.
"So you're thinking of going for ranged attacks?" Rebecca assumed.
"Don't you already have your Odin Strike?" Shoto questioned on.
"That move uses far too much of my energy," Homura told them in reply, "And to be honest, I believe I do need a significant change to my arsenal," she added as a confession, "My blades are only as strong as my will to battle on," she pointed out, holding her hand over her heart, "And that is what I will strengthen during this work study," she vowed. Endeavor stared at her intently, causing her to flinch as she sweated a little. "Um… I…" she stammered again.
'Still a little nervous, huh?' Rebecca noted inwardly with a grin.
"Very well," the Flame Hero said, getting their attentions as they saw him start to walk off, "Let's not waste any time," he advised.
"And what about me?" Shoto suddenly asked.
"You're just here to learn about Flashfire, aren't you?!" his father assumed in response loudly. The others looked over at Shoto, with all besides Katsuki giving off concerned expressions.
"I poured all the training you beat into me as a kid towards strengthening my right side, focusing on perfecting my ice," he pointed out, "Now that I look back on it… I realize that my hatred of you held me back," he admitted, "After entering UA and spending time with all my friends…" he continued, "my eyes were opened," he said, "Endeavor… I realize that now, I'm going to do exactly what you wanted me to," he concluded to his father, who seemed surprised, "…But I want you to also know this," he kept going, "The pro that I always admired, the one I watched on TV with Mom…" he recalled, thinking of All Might, "I came here to learn… so that I become worthy of being someone called a hero," he noted in declaration, clenching his fists, "This is my choice, not yours," he added firmly, "The only reason I came to this place is to use you," he told the number one hero, "I came because it's beneficial for me, number one," he mentioned, "Don't pretend to be a caring parent in front of my friends," he advised further.
"Shoto…" Homura uttered out. Enji was astonished. He had thought that his son was willing to open up to him, especially with how he had requested to be trained in the first place. But he understood now that it was naïve to think that. Foolish, even.
"Right, very well," he said to the surprise of the students as he turned to the doors, "From now on, you'll learn by joining me in the field," he decided. A while later, he, his sidekicks, and the U.A. students were out in the city, looking out for any trouble. The Flame Hero explained the role of being a hero to the young trainees, telling them that heroes dealt with three areas of work: rescue, evacuation, and combat. He was very thorough in telling the quintet everything they needed to understand.
And Izuku could tell he knew what he was talking about. Already, this was a different experience from his time getting trained by All Might. This was more of him learning what the job entailed and what basic training was needed. Between parallel processing and swift responses, there was a lot to follow.
"What happens if you're dispatched to a different jurisdiction?" Rebecca asked curiously.
"Heroes in that area will provide us with the information we need," Kido confirmed in reply, "And Endeavor'll keep back bystanders with his flames while rushing to the scene like usual," he mentioned further.
"Exactly," the Hellflame Quirk user confirmed, "Remember what your goals are," he advised of the group, "At UA, it was hard work," he pointed out, "And out here, it's experience," he stated.
'I get it…' Rebecca noted inwardly, 'It's how Mirio, Tamaki and Nejire got so strong from their own experiences out in the field,' she recalled, 'And now it's our turn,' she added through her thoughts.
"This winter, I want you five to capture a villain faster than me just once!" Endeavor challenged of the U.A. students.
"Capture a villain faster…?" Rebecca repeated aloud, "That doesn't sound that hard…" she admitted quietly to her boyfriend.
"Well, this is Endeavor we're talking about…" he pointed out, "He's knows this stuff better than us…" he mentioned. All of a sudden, the Flame Hero rocketed off instantaneously.
"Hey, wait up!" Katsuki yelled, blasting himself after him.
"His response time is incredible…!" Homura noted, hurriedly running after her new mentor, with Shoto, Izuku and Rebecca following suit. None of them could afford to learn things slowly. But they were left as Endeavor kept accelerating, even as he turned a corner.
"He's so fast!" the Cat Leaper Quirk user exclaimed. It wasn't long before the Flame Hero had caught up with a motorcyclist from a hit-and-run, tripping him off of his vehicle and detaining him. His sidekicks arrived soon after to secure him, along with the five students.
"Huh…" Homura exhaled, "So this is what the number one hero is capable of in the field…" she noted aloud.
"You're all far too slow," Endeavor commented.
"Tch," Katsuki scoffed with frustration, "Just takes me longer to warm up in the winter…" he grumbled out.
"That's a lame excuse…" Rebecca retorted, giving off an exasperated look.
"Bakugo, did you notice what happened?" Shoto inquired of the Explosion Quirk user, getting his attention. An annoyed grin came across his face.
"There's nothing you could've possibly noticed before I did…" he growled with irritation, "but let's go ahead and hear it…" he advised.
'Petty as always…' Rebecca mumbled inwardly.
"That turn he did…" Shoto began, "He used his flames to propel himself in another direction and up his speed," he explained.
"I see," Homura responded, "Similar to how he uses that beam attack from his fists," she recalled.
"Exactly," the Half-Cold, Half-Hot Quirk user agreed, "He probably compressed the flames and released them to increase his velocity," he told the group.
"How are you only now just noticing that, Icy-Hot?" Katsuki inquired back.
"Yeah, it took me a while…" Shoto admitted sheepishly as he wiped some sweat off of his cheek.
"In any case, we gotta all find a way to keep up," Rebecca pointed out.
"Good luck with that," Kido remarked. As if on cue, Endeavor rocketed off again.
"Ah, come on!" the Cat Leaper Quirk user yelled, hurrying off along with her classmates. As she and Homura ran, the boys were leaping about after the Flame Hero, who pointed out how top heroes needed to handle all issues themselves without relying on others, with some exceptions.
"By the way," he continued, "I had known about the glass villain's underlings from earlier," he pointed out to the surprise of his work study students, "I would've been able to deal with them on my own," he affirmed.
"Hmph," Katsuki scoffed, continuing to blast after him, "Petty," he muttered.
'Kacchan…!' Izuku gasped inwardly. Endeavor was quick to point out that all five of the hero hopeful were pretty good… as rookies. But as of now, there'd be no way for them to keep up with him.
"Ergh…" Katsuki growled out of frustration again, "When it's cold out, I need more prep time to—!"
"Are you going to make that same excuse when you fail to save someone?!" Endeavor inquired loudly, interjecting him as he slammed his enflamed right fist into a truck that almost ran someone over on the crosswalk, "This isn't a classroom, kids," he pointed out as the others arrived on the scene, "If you fail, then people's lives could be lost," he affirmed on. Rebecca gulped. Compared to when being taught by Shota, the Flame Hero was able to exemplify what it meant to be a hero in the field.
"Ma'am, are you okay?" Izuku asked as he went over to the woman that had almost met an unfortunate fate.
"I-I think so…" she stuttered out.
"Bakugo, Shoto," Endeavor called out to the pair of boys standing afar, "I'm giving you two the same assignments," he told them.
"Why am I always getting lumped together with this idiot?!" Katsuki shouted in question.
"I bet this has something to do with Flashfire…" Shoto concluded.
"The two of you need to learn how to store up your power," his father told him and the Explosion Quirk user, "Condense it, then fire," he instructed on.
'Store up…' Homura repeated inwardly, only to blink as she thought back to her prior training and experiences with Ether-type Quirk users.
"Rebecca," she called out, getting the Cat Leaper Quirk user's attention as she was trying to diffuse the angry shouting of the woman towards the truck driver, "I think you and I will have a similar assignment as Shoto and Bakugo," she presumed.
"We will?" Rebecca questioned.
"That's right," Endeavor confirmed as he flew up, "The two of you need to train your bodies so that your Ether stores are at the maximum potential," he explained to them, "When you can learn to activate your abilities without so much as thinking about them, then you'll have a much easier handle," he mentioned thoroughly.
"Yeah… that makes sense…" Rebecca agreed.
"Aoneko, I want you to focus on understanding certain situations as they unfold to make assessments and then act accordingly," the Flame Hero instructed of her, "And Valkyrie, I understand that you can harness multiple variations of your blades, even shaping them into alternate forms," he added to Homura, making her perk up, "Try imagining what shape would be best suited for long-distance combat," he advised on. A while later, the group had stopped for a quick snack break atop a roof, with the Cat Leaper Quirk user chewing on a meat bun.
'It's only our first day, but Endeavor's really giving us a lot to work with…' she noted to herself, 'And I've gotta really keep myself alert so that I can assess things that happen and act quickly,' she added inwardly
"Deku, is it fair to say that you're able to max out your power in an instant?" the Flame Hero asked of Izuku.
"Yeah," he replied.
"And you can do that without thinking?" the Hellflame Quirk user inquired.
"Uh, sorta…" the One For All inheritor admitted in response, "I can do it with Full Cowling, but Air Force still requires some concentration," he told the number one hero.
"Then keep practicing until your Air Force becomes second nature," he advised after finishing his food, "Forget about that new power for now," he insisted on.
"Endeavor, sir?" Homura chimed in, "You had mentioned parallel processing earlier…" she pointed out as she approached.
"Yeah, what did you mean by that?" Rebecca asked curiously.
"People every day are using parallel processing without even realizing it," the Flame Hero told them, "Your subconscious does the work," he mentioned, "Take a driver of one of those cars down there for example," he continued, looking down at the busy highway below, "They weren't born knowing how to drive," he pointed out, "Turning the wheel, pressing the gas and brake pedals, noting their surroundings," he listed off, "They learned to do those things individually, and then learned reflexively," he noted.
"I get it…" Rebecca uttered, "It's like how in a video game you play for the first time, you have to adjust to the controls at the very start," she pointed out, "But once you've gotten enough experience, you can do those things without even thinking about it for the most part," she explained further.
"A video game analogy, really?" Katsuki grumbled, making her glare back at him.
"You all need to be able to do two things at once without thinking about them," Endeavor told his students, "No matter how much power you have, its foundation is built on a steady accumulation of skills," he mentioned further, "There are exceptions…" he added almost bitterly, "but a majority of heroes build their abilities brick by brick," he said, "At least, that's the way I did," he affirmed, "Even if you're using some of the same concepts you learned in school, real-world experience is completely different," he explained on, "Don't forget what you learned in class, but get used to how things work out here," he advised.
"Right," Homura responded, while Rebecca and Izuku nodded. Already, this first day was proving to be a good experience. And with time, it would likely be better…
ENDING
Insert "Believe" by Soushi Sakiyama
Opens with Homura waking up and preparing for the day, getting dressed in her school uniform before lying on her knees in front of her memorial to Valkyrie, offering a prayer before she heads off. As she gathers in the dorm common room with her classmates, she sees Shoto and smiles, walking off with him. She breathes out a puff of cold air, looking up at the partly cloudy winter sky.
Later, we see her at the Endeavor Agency, practicing with her energy blades against the fiery ones Burnin creates with her Quirk, all while the Flame Hero watches. As Homura's exhaustion catches up with her, Endeavor offers her a cup of tea to ease her. She accepts it, sipping it gratefully. We transition to her as a child, sitting on the porch of her old home with Valkyrie, as they smile at each other.
Being taught for years how to fight with Soul Blade, Homura never knew her teacher was actually an android. But that didn't matter to her either way, as she appreciated what Valkyrie had done for her. We cut to when the police showed up at her home one evening, with Naomasa telling her the unfortunate news of Valkyrie's death. We see the lifeless body of the Shining Star Hero, having many scarlet burns along her body, with a missing right arm and half of her face gone, revealing her robotic appearance underneath.
Back in the present, we see Homura still mourning over her teacher to this day. Things have only been harder after discovering that she was a machine all this time. She starts to tear up a little, but then suddenly has a hand come onto her back. She looks to her right to see a smiling Rebecca there, followed by turning to her left to find Izuku and Katsuki there, with the former flashing a kind grin.
A hand then extends for the Soul Blade Quirk user as she looks to see Shoto standing in front of her. She gratefully accepts it as tears prick her eyes. They walk off together, with Homura starting to lean against Shoto in the process…
END ENDING
So that ends 160 chapters! The arc's well under way and our heroes are working under Endeavor for the winter! Since these chapters are adapting the episodes, I'll be focusing on doing two episodes for next chapter, since it's relatively short.
Thanks for reading, everyone! I'll see you next time!
