Wow, we're already ten chapters into Season 4's adaptation. I can hardly believe it given all that we're working with in this story. So now we're at the climax of this arc. Almost every enemy has been bested, save for one in particular, Overhaul. And that fight's going to have some really big implications going forward.

Let's not delay things any longer! Welcome back to "Through the Rough"!

THROUGH THE ROUGH

"ERAHHH!" Rikiya roared, slamming his fists against the pavement to create a shockwave of wind, which rushed over Ryukyu, Nejire, Ochaco, and Tsuyu.

"This guy's really persistent, huh?" the Surge Quirk user noted. It had been about fifteen minutes since they started their battle with the Eight Bullets' member, which proved to be difficult. Like the Dragoon Hero had said, his Quirk of stealing vitality from those he touched made it hard for many of those fighting to get close.

'Right now, Nejire's the only one who can really deal with him…' Ryukyu noted to herself, 'We've got plenty of officers who're already down from his Quirk…' she mentioned inwardly.

"Mind if I get a little handsy with you ladies?" Rikiya inquired as he lunged out at the trio of Ochaco, Tsuyu, and Nejire.

"Oh, yikes!" the former yelped out. However, the Frog Quirk user took notice of something from afar.

"Incoming!" she yelled, causing everyone to immediately jump away with her.

"Huh?" Rikiya uttered in confusion. He then turned around and found himself bombarded with several projectiles that struck him in bright flashes of light.

"Flash grenades…?!" one officer assumed as he and the others braced themselves from the sudden luminosity.

"Hey, were we supposed to get backup, Ryukyu?!" Nejire asked loudly of her mentor. Before the Dragoon Quirk user could answer, she noticed a figure soaring in from the distance. It was Feather, who was flying in with her metal wings.

"Whoa, it's Feather!" Ochaco exclaimed upon noticing.

"What's another IUA Hero doing here?!" another officer asked out of shock. Turning to see the airborne woman coming, Rikiya chuckled.

"So another bigshot's come to try and take me on?" he presumed, "Well, hope you don't mind getting a little handsy with you instead!" he yelled, extending his right hand out as she closed in.

"…You'll do no such thing as long as I can see it," she retorted, rolling aside to evade his grasp before striking the back of his neck with a strong kick. He gasped in pain before toppling over onto the pavement upon his stomach, quickly losing consciousness. The trio of U.A. students were admittedly awed by how quickly Feather had diffused the situation, watching as she landed and let her metal wings fold in.

"Feather…" Ryukyu uttered, getting the I.U.A. Hero's attention as she turned to see the Dragon Quirk user transform back to normal and approach her, "What are you doing here?" she asked.

"I had anticipated that you would be in trouble," Feather answered, looking back at Rikiya, "This man had taken a drug before your battle, but it hadn't kicked in just yet," she pointed out, "If it did, he would be able to steal anyone's vitality just by inhaling," she told them.

"How do you know all of that?" Ochaco inquired as she approached alongside the others.

"It's her Quirk," Ryukyu answered, "Her Eye of Venus lets her see an intended target to predict their movements, along with being able to scout a person's weak points," she explained. The bright white lines of energy upon the I.U.A. Hero's face glowed brightly.

Tsubaki Aina! Hero Name: Feather! Quirk: Eye of Venus!

With this power, she can look partially into the future and predict an opponent's movements, along with their weak points! However, the use of this Quirk is limited to ten minutes per every ten hours!

"I guess my question now is why did you come here, Feather?" Ryukyu inquired.

"I owed you a favor for your help last week," the Eye of Venus Quirk user replied, "We need to evacuate everyone along this block and those adjacent," she advised of the group, much to their surprise, "In about five minutes, that intersection is going to collapse from the battles raging underground," she explained, "Evacuating the area reduces casualties and will allow us to focus on what's to come next," she mentioned on.

"And what would that be?" Ryuku asked curiously out of concern. The I.U.A. Hero let her markings disappear before she looked back over at the Dragon Quirk user.

"A monster," she answered vaguely before unfolding her metal wings and flying off.

"What do you think's going on down there…?" Ochaco wondered.

"Nothing good from the sound of it…" Tsuyu responded, putting a finger onto her cheek.

"Hey, hey, Ryukyu!" Nejire chimed in as she floated over to her mentor, "Should we go with Feather and clear the area before whatever happens?" she inquired.

"Yes," the Dragoon Hero answered, "Let's get moving, ladies!" she insisted of her work study students, enticing them to follow her as they went from building to building, warning those that were inside to get out as soon as possible. Ryukyu looked on worriedly at the intersection that Feather had pointed out to her. Just what kind of monster lurked in the labyrinth below?

END OPENING

"Huh…" Kleene exhaled with relief. Her victory over her brother had brought him a sense of clarity. And with it, his likely return.

"Kleene!" Rebecca cried out as she and Izuku jogged into the room, "Are you okay?" she asked in concern.

"I'm fine," the Wind Snatch Quirk user assured, "More than fine in fact," she affirmed on with a smile, looking back at Kris as he sniffled, wiping his teary eyes, "Now he can have his second chance…" she noted happily. The Cat Leaper Quirk user smiled as well.

"Yeah," she agreed.

"S-S-S-So…" Izuku stammered, causing the two girls to look over and see him with his hands covering his face as he turned away, "th-that's what your… Overdrive's like, S-Sylph?" he stuttered in question.

"Huh?" his girlfriend uttered, "What's wrong, Iz—?" She stopped herself upon realizing what got him so flustered. Kleene was now seemingly well-endowed in her transformed state, with a fair amount of her cleavage showing. She arched an eyebrow.

"Does… my Overdrive look weird?" she inquired.

"Uh, n-no!" Rebecca stammered out as she blushed, waving her hands frantically, "It totally suits you!" she affirmed.

'In more ways than one…' she added inwardly.

"That was amazing, Sylph!" Milon complimented, getting the Wind Snatch Quirk user's attention.

"Yeah, you really gave your bro the what-for!" Couchpo added with a wink and a thumbs-up.

"It was quite something," Miyako agreed. Hearing their compliments, Kleene giggled a little. At that moment, she transformed back to normal, keeling over onto her hands and knees.

"Whoa, Kleene!" Rebecca exclaimed, keeling down beside her as she heard the Wind Snatch Quirk user pant with exhaustion.

'It's just like what happened when Shiki used his Overdrive…' Izuku recalled.

"Just as I thought…" Kris noted as he approached, getting the group's attention as they gasped to see him stand up, letting out a heavy breath, "Overdrive uses up most of an Ether-type Quirk's energy for its user," he pointed out.

"Kris…" Rebecca uttered, drawing her lone pulse pistol onto him, "Stay back!" she commanded, "We're putting you under arrest!" she declared on.

"I'm not going to fight you," the Wind Rage Quirk user confirmed to her surprise, "Kleene finally made me realize my mistakes, especially with what I became," he told the student heroes, recalling the incident in Camino, "If I had joined you that night…" he started to infer, "maybe… none of this would be happening…" he suggested, clenching his fists in frustration.

"Rutherford…" Izuku uttered out.

"That doesn't matter…" Kleene grunted, pushing herself up onto her feet.

"Ah, Kleene!" Rebecca gasped.

"I'm willing to give you a second chance, Brother," the Wind Snatch Quirk user confirmed to Kris, "And I'm sure our classmates at UA will, too," she vowed on. Trembling a little, the Wind Rage Quirk user lowered his gaze for a moment.

"Thank you…" he said with gratitude, "There's a passage Overhaul intended to use to escape with Eri, along with where Illega had come in from," he told the group, "Kleene, take these girls up to the surface with you," he advised of his sister.

"And what about you?" Izuku questioned.

"I'll be leading you to Overhaul himself to get Eri back," Kris responded to his surprise, "After learning about the things he's done… and is still willing to do…" he continued as his fists trembled, "I'll fight against him with all I've got!" he proclaimed. Those in the room smiled at him.

"In that case, we better get moving," the One For All inheritor insisted, "If Togata or anyone else made it to Eri already…" he continued.

"They're gonna need backup," his girlfriend finished for him, "Lead the way, Kris!" she advised of the Wind Rage Quirk user.

"Right," he responded, hurrying out of the room with the pair following. Meanwhile, his sister stayed behind, watching on with a smile.

'Mother… my wind's still blowing as of today…' she noted inwardly, 'And so is Kris'…' she added to herself.

X

"Holy shit…" Ivry uttered upon seeing the deceased Joi lying in front of her, with blood pouring out from his head, "Guess someone got to the poor bastard before I did…" she realized with a tilt of her head, "Hey, Mosco," she said, getting the heavyset man's attention as he shivered in surprise, "Any idea who did this?" she inquired.

"N-No, ma'am!" he stuttered in response, "The yakuza are all very loyal to each other…" he noted, "and Rogue Out isn't advised to go against them…" he mentioned on.

"Hmm…" Ivry hummed, putting a hand onto her chin in thought.

'Given the circumstances and the fact that neither the Hassaikai or Rogue Out would turn on each other, I'd say this was probably the League's handiwork…' she presumed inwardly, 'Question is, who?' she wondered on. At that moment, the wall up ahead was wiped out of existence in a flash of white light, getting her attention along with those of the officers. She looked to see Nighteye ahead alongside Eraser, Shota, Rock Lock, and the other officers, along with their chief.

"Ivry!" the Foresight Quirk user called out, hurrying over to her.

"Tch," she scoffed with a smirk, "Took you long enough to get back to me…" she muttered.

"Are you alright?" Nighteye asked.

"Peachy, honestly," Ivry responded bluntly, "Holy and the kids got separated from me by this bastard before someone got to him," she explained, enticing the Foresight Quirk user to glance down at Joi's dead body.

"Holy crap…" Rock Lock uttered in shock.

"Looks like he got hit executioner style…" Eraser remarked, sweating a little.

"I think it was the League," Ivry said, "And I'm guessing that's your thinking too, right Eraser Head?" she presumed of the Erasure Quirk user, who approached as he took off his goggles for a moment.

"We ran into Denatsu and Bubaigawara earlier," Nighteye confirmed, "By my guess, the former attacked Irinaka when the drug he used had finally worn off," he inferred, narrowing his eyes.

"Well, without him we're in trouble!" Rock Lock pointed out emphatically, "This labyrinth's still all messed up because of him, and if we can't get through, then Chisaki's gonna be able to book it!" he told the group.

"Not necessarily," Ivry chimed in, "We can just bust through the walls," she pointed out.

"Moscoy!" Mosco agreed. Everyone looked over in confusion.

"Isn't he… one of Rogue Out's…?" the police chief inquired.

"Huh…" the Shining Star Hero sighed out, "I can explain later," she assured, "For now, let's get a move on," she insisted of the group.

"Right," Nighteye agreed, hurrying ahead with the others. Elsewhere in the labyrinth, Mirio shakily fell to his knees, struggling to hold onto Eri. However, Pino dropped from his shoulder onto the floor.

"Ah, Pino!" he gasped out, seeing her wobble her way back up onto her little feet.

"Pino?" Kai repeated, narrowing his eyes curiously, "I've never seen that thing move in my life…" he pointed out.

"I don't think any of us have…" Hari admitted, readying a pistol he had.

"Nemoto," the Shie Hassaikai leader called out. Another figure stepped forward, being a slim man that donned a black cape and a pair of baggy three-quarters pants, as well as a black bowler hat and pale sneakers. Like the other Eight Bullets, he sported a black plague mask of his own.

"What are you?" he asked of the little android.

"I am an anti-bot machine designed to nullify machines with my EMP ability," she responded, followed by widening her eyes. The others amongst her were shocked as well.

'Why'd she tell them that…?!' Mirio wondered inwardly.

"So that must be what caused the blackouts…" Shin presumed, "How did you end up here?" he questioned on in a compelling voice.

"I was gifted to the former head of the Shie Hassaikai, who gave me to Eri when she was put into his care," Pino answered.

"Pino…" the horned girl whimpered out.

"And who gave you to our former leader?" Shin inquired. The little android trembled.

"I… do not have that information…" she answered, much to everyone's surprise.

"That's impossible…" the Confession Quirk user said.

"Not if whoever gave her to Pops erased her memories or kept them locked," Overhaul chimed in, "Guy's smart," he pointed out as he stepped forward, "Aside from Eri, we could use something like this…" he mentioned, causing Pino to lightly gasp with fright. Meanwhile, Komi was staggering to her feet, drawing a kunai into her left hand. "Huh…" the Shie Hassaikai leader sighed out, "Sister did a number on you, didn't she?" he assumed, turning to face the Saintfire follower, "I already killed your partner," he noted, making her tense up, "But I'm willing to leave you alive if you tell me something," he added to her surprise, "Nemoto," he called out. The hatted member of the Eight Bullets stepped forward.

"Where is Saintfire Nox?" he asked. Komi widened her eyes.

"After all this, I think it's only appropriate to pay your precious Saintfire a visit in order to settle any disputes," Overhaul noted, "So tell me where she is…" he insisted firmly. Komi felt her lips tremble as she was being compelled to respond. Her body was too weak to fight back in this state.

Flashes of her life with the Oracion Seis member went rapidly through her head, leading up to when she became a devout follower of her cause like so many others. She could never betray the woman who helped shape her life. With what remained of her strength, she grabbed the kunai with both of her hands… and stabbed herself in the throat.

Everyone gasped. Blood poured out of the Petrification Quirk user's neck as she gurgled, collapsing onto the floor. Mirio grimaced, covering Eri's eyes with his hands to prevent her from seeing such a gruesome sight. Overhaul's eyes twitched with anger as he saw Komi dying right at his feet.

"Well, she was a Saintfire follower…" Hari pointed out, "It makes sense that she wouldn't give up her master's location," he mentioned.

"Ergh…" the Shie Hassaikai leader growled out, "It's fine," he affirmed after a moment, "With her out of the way, we only have to deal with the schoolboy…" he pointed out, looking over to the frightened Mirio, who held Eri closely.

"I won't let you take her!" he declared fiercely, "She's already gone through too much because of you!" he pointed out angrily.

"Mister…" Pino chimed in, getting his attention, "You can't…" she noted in frustration, "Overhaul… is too strong for anyone to deal with…" she mentioned as tears welled up in her eyes.

"Pino…" Eri uttered, while the Permeation Quirk user let his eyes shake in surprise.

"She's right," the Shie Hassaikai leader confirmed, causing him to look over at his foes, "Besides, your balance is off from Sakaki's Quirk…" he pointed out.

"And that's not all…" Shin chimed in, stepping forward, "When you first met Eri in the streets, you let her return to Overhaul, did you not?" he presumed.

"Yeah, that's right…" Mirio answered, followed by his expression shifting into a grim one of realization.

"And once you discovered our plans, you regretted your actions," the hatted man mentioned, "That's why you've come to save the child," he said, "Hmph," he scoffed, readying the pistol in his hand, "You're no hero…" he proclaimed, "You're just trying to soothe your own conscience, aren't you?" he guessed. The Permeation Quirk user grimaced with frustration. Everything his foe was saying was true. He regretted not taking action back then. Even if it was the right call of judgement, it still put Eri back into a horrible position.

"I…" he started to respond. All of a sudden, the wall nearby burst open as it splashed apart like lava, much to everyone's shock. Deidoro found himself ambushed as a trio of tentacles wrapped around him, pulling on his body and slamming him hard against the floor, knocking him out.

"What?!" Hari exclaimed, while Overhaul looked over and widened his eyes. Leaping through the melted wall were both Tamaki and Holy, as the former had tentacles formed along his hands.

"Lemillion!" he called out to his fellow student hero, who perked up.

"Tamaki…?!" he gasped.

"Sorry for the wait," the I.U.A. Hero apologized, making her gold energy lines appear along her face as her hair glowed gold, "I'm not as used to using Melt for battle…" she confessed, aiming her hand forward to fire off a beam of light towards Overhaul and the others. They dodged it, with the Shie Hassaikai leader rushing forward.

"Lemillion, go!" Tamaki insisted of the Permeation Quirk user, "We'll take care of things here!" he promised, leaping over his incoming foe by morphing his legs into those of a chicken.

"Y-Yeah… thanks…!" Mirio stammered in response, staggering to his feet. He looked over at the deceased body of Komi, gritting his teeth. "Pino, come on!" he beckoned to the little android, getting her attention.

"Right!" she replied, hopping onto his shoulder before they hurried off.

"Ergh…!" Overhaul growled out, only to suddenly sink into the floor as it melted at his feet. Holy had her left hand extended out toward him, with purple lines of energy appearing upon it.

"It's over, Chisaki!" she proclaimed, "You won't be able to stop us!" she declared on. Hearing that made Kai have several memories of his past flash through his mind. He snarled angrily under his mask.

"Don't use that name so casually…" he insisted, causing the I.U.A. Hero to perk up, "That isn't who I am anymore!" he bellowed. He then palmed his hands against the still-solid surface of the floor, causing a plethora of spikes to take form and shoot out towards Holy. She quickly stuck her right hand out and planted it onto the floor.

"Melty Kiss!" she exclaimed, making the spikes explode into a liquefying substance before they could reach her. In doing so, she blocked off her path to her opponent. "Dammit…" she cursed out. At that moment, a gunshot rang out.

"Holy!" Tamaki exclaimed, leaping in the way of the bullet that was heading toward the I.U.A. Hero, blocking it off with a thick plating of shells and octopus tentacles.

"Hm," Shin huffed, "What is your Quirk?" he asked in a compelling voice.

"Manifest," the U.A. senior answered, "From I things I eat, I can manifest their characteristics on my body," he told him.

"Suneater?!" Holy exclaimed in surprise, causing Tamaki to gasp in realization as he covered his mouth with his left hand.

'So this guy's Quirk must force people to tell the truth…' he noted to himself.

"We know about Holy's Quirk," Hari chimed in as he readied a gun of his own, "at least one of them…" he mentioned in correction.

"Would that make you a dual-type?" Shin inquired of the I.U.A. Hero.

"Yes," she responded, only to grimace.

"I see…" the hatted Eight Bullets' member said, "I'm certain the master will be able to deal with that other boy," he affirmed, "And though we may fall here…" he continued as he aimed his gun, "we'll at least have given him enough time to retrieve the girl," he proclaimed.

"…Is that what you think?" Tamaki inquired of the Hassaikai members, getting their attentions, "You don't know how strong Lemillion is…" he pointed out with a fierce expression upon his face, "Chisaki won't stop him!" he yelled.

"Suneater…" Holy uttered out, quite surprised by the change in his demeanor. At one point, he seemed reluctant to fight. Now he was ready to do whatever it to protect his friends and help accomplish their goal.

"Heroes always have those dumb sentimentalities, huh?" Hari presumed. Tamaki thrusted his tentacles out towards him and Shin. "Well, I guess it's time I used my power for our goals, too," he decided. All of a sudden, an arrow-like strand of hair shot out from his mask.

"Suneater, watch it!" Holy warned. Unfortunately, the Manifest Quirk user was struck as the hair slashed through a couple of his tentacles.

"The minute hand'll slow your movements for a whole minute," Hari confirmed as the approaching tentacles were slowing down, allowing for him and Shin to easily evade them.

"It's obvious that you're the main muscle of this duo," the latter noted, re-aiming his gun, "We'll deal with Holy and then—" All of a sudden, his weapon melted in his hand. "AH!" he yelped, dropping it onto the floor as it splattered.

"You think I'm weak?" the I.U.A. Hero assumed of her foes, giving off a dark glare towards her opponents, "Perhaps you should look at yourselves in comparison first…" she advised.

"Like that'll scare us!" Hari yelled, firing off a few shots from his gun. Holy's hair glowed gold as she held her left hand out, shaping her hand into the form of a firearm.

"Light Shot!" she yelled, firing off a burst of golden luminosity that tore through the incoming bullets with ease. Her foe evaded it, rolling to the side. The I.U.A. Hero attempted to fire onto him again, only to be tackled to the ground by Shin. "Let… go of me!" she commanded, having her wrists held by her opponent.

"I won't let you intervene with the master's grand plans!" he declared, "We will be the ones to share in his happiness when it all comes to fruition!" he bellowed out, "Do it now, Kurono!" he yelled to the advisor. Looking over, Holy gasped to see that the Chronostasis Quirk user was about to fire onto the slowed Tamaki, as he hadn't protruded any form of defense. Gritting her teeth, the I.U.A. Hero kneed Shin in the stomach, followed by freeing her right hand to grab his head and slam his against the wall hard, effectively knocking him out. She then took to her feet and whipped around, extending her right hand out toward Hari as purple markings glowed upon her arm.

Just as he fired the bullet from his gun, it melted ever so slightly enough, causing it to whisk by the Manifest Quirk user's right ear. Growling, the advisor turned had had his needle-like hair shoot out and pierce into Holy's abdomen, causing her to gasp in pain. Blood poured down her body as she winced.

"You're cunning…" Hari admitted, pulling out a hidden blade from beneath his cloak, "As expected of a member of the IUA," he pointed out as he approached her. All of a sudden though, a shadow loomed over him. It was Tamaki, who had leapt up with his chicken legs and wings along his back.

"Time's up!" he remarked, landing a fierce kick to the Chronostasis Quirk user, sending him crashing into the wall as his mask and hood came off, revealing that he had a face with thin, dark eyes, pointed eyebrows, and pale chin-length hair that formed arrow-shaped needles, much like a clock's. He fell onto the floor, twitching with agony. Reforming his arms, and legs, the U.A. senior turned to Holy, who clutched her new wound. "Are you alright?!" he asked immediately out of concern.

"It's… nothing…" she assured slowly in reply, forcing a grin. With a bright light emitting from her palm onto the wound, she was able to cauterize it.

'It's a good thing we dealt with those two…' she noted to herself, 'Aside from one having the ability to pull information out of people, getting slowed by Kurono would make things all the worse…' she mentioned inwardly.

"How are we going to get to Mirio now?" Tamaki wondered, noticing the blockage formed from the melted spikes.

"Sorry…" Holy apologized, letting out a wince as she stood upright, "My Melt doesn't wear off on anything I use it upon," she explained, "We'll have to go around," she confirmed. She then noticed the worried look upon the Manifest Quirk user's face. "Hey, don't worry," she reassured, getting his attention as he looked over at her, "I've heard just how capable Lemillion is," she noted on with a smile, "He'll be fine on his own," she proclaimed.

"R-Right…" Tamaki stammered out, "Well, let's go," he insisted, hurrying off with the I.U.A. Hero. As they left, they failed to see that both Shin and Hari were melting away in pools of brown sludge…

X

"Don't worry, everything's gonna be fine!" Mirio assured to both Eri and Pino as they ran through the hallways. However, the look upon the Permeation Quirk user's face was telling. With the labyrinth so warped due to Joi's Quirk, it was hard to find a way back to the others. The best he could do was hope that if he turned a corner, he'd run into an ally. However, he ended up turning to find both Shin and Hari there with their guns readied. Both of them fired off bullets, which their foe managed to evade, obscuring their aim with his long red cape.

"A clever trick, boy," the Confession Quirk user remarked, "But still, your luck's run out here," he affirmed. Mirio grimaced.

'How did those two get all the way here?!' he wondered inwardly, 'Don't tell me they beat Tamaki and Holy…' he initially presumed, 'No… I'm sure that's not it…' he affirmed to himself, holding Eri close, 'These two probably just got away or had decoys in place…' he inferred, 'Either way, their goal's to make sure Eri doesn't get taken…' he noted through his thoughts.

"Eri…" a familiar voice chimed in, getting their attentions as they widened their eyes. Turning his head a little, Mirio saw Kai sauntering over. "You need to come back…" he advised of the little girl, "After all, you leaving will only make things worse…" he pointed out to her as she trembled in Mirio's arms, "You're cursed…" he remarked coldly. The Permeation Quirk user clenched his teeth together.

"How could you say that to your own daughter?!" he roared in question.

"Huh?" Overhaul uttered in confusion, "Oh, right…" he realized, "That's the lie I told you…" he recalled, readying his hands, "I don't have any children," he stated. At that moment, he instantaneously reassembled the ground, shaping new spikes that could've pierced Eri and Pino had they not been lifted up by Mirio.

"You could've hit her…!" he pointed out through a growl.

"Doesn't really matter, considering I can reassemble her on the spot and revive her," the Shie Hassaikai leader retorted, sealing off the hallways so that it became an entrapped space with him, his allies, and their lone foe, "You won't be able to escape with Permeation while holding those two, right?" he presumed, causing the student hero to grimace, "So what's your move now?" he questioned, "You gonna fight us, schoolboy?" he guessed on.

"Mister, I do not believe you can fight them with us in your care…" Pino noted quietly to Mirio, getting his attention.

"Don't worry, it'll be alright," he assured, giving her and Eri a soft smile. Hari and Shin fired onto him again, only to for his cape to take the bullets instead as he lowered himself to the ground, ripping his cape off. "Sorry about this," he apologized to the two in his care, putting the remainder of his cape over them before sinking through the surface.

"Huh," the Chronostasis Quirk user scoffed, "And here I thought capes were just a fashion statement for heroes…" he muttered out. At that moment, Overhaul gasped in realization.

"Kurono, Nemoto! Move!" he yelled to his colleagues. He had the floor rise up beneath them, allowing them to evade the Permeation Quirk user as he had come up from the surface in an attempt to attack. Though he didn't manage to strike them, their guns were dropped.

"Damn…" Shin cursed out.

"Sorry, Overhaul!" Hari apologized.

"Kid's strong…" the Shie Hassaikai leader admitted, "But… he put Eri and the bot down…" he noted on, looking over to the cape that was hiding the horned girl and Pino, "If I break them, then he'll have to back off…!" he presumed, readying his right hand as he placed it against the ground. However, Mirio came up behind him.

"Of course you would do that, you monster!" he roared, thrusting his right fist out, phasing it through his arm to land a strong punch to his left cheek, "You wanna know why heroes wear capes?!" he inquired rhetorically, "It's so that we can comfort those who've suffered!" he yelled out as both Eri and Pino peeked out from the cape, watching the Permeation Quirk user continue to battle his foes. He watched his opponents carefully, predicting their moves and preventing from doing anything to stop him.

"This is… impossible…!" Shin proclaimed, "We can't be bested by… one measly nuisance…!" he echoed, falling over weakly onto his stomach right in front of his gun. Mirio did seem outmatched. Even with his Quirk, he was in the unfavorable situation of trying to keep his opponents occupied long enough for backup to arrive. Overhaul was strong, but…

"Make no mistake!" the Permeation Quirk user bellowed as he emerged from the ground, striking the Shie Hassaikai leader with another right hook, "I'M STRONGER!" he roared again. Watching on, Eri realized just how dedicated to saving her he was. It didn't matter if she tried to sway him to look the other way. He'd still fight to save her. "I won't let you lay another finger on her!" he proclaimed, "I'll take on anyone I have to!" he declared on, "You've lost this fight, Chisaki!" he shouted.

"…Don't use that name so casually, kid…" Overhaul growled out as he landed on his feet, sliding to a stop as he gave off a fierce glare, "I've abandoned it!" he yelled. The man who had taken him in, the one who gave him the opportunity to be a part of the Hassaikai, was someone he wanted to repay however he could. He wanted to bring the yakuza back into power by any means necessary.

"Master…!" Shin grunted out, crawling forward with tears in his eyes. Mirio looked over in surprise, thinking that he would be down for the count after all of the damage he had taken. Little did he know that the Confession Quirk user also had a strong loyalty to Kai, as he had been the one to take him under his wing when no one else would.

"Nemoto!" he yelled, reaching into his jacket to pull out a box, chucking it over to his subordinate, "Shoot now!" he commanded. The box opened in midair, with one of the red bullets popping out and clattering in front of Shin. He took hold of it, setting it into his gun's revolver.

However, he didn't know where to shoot for a moment. Mirio was practically invincible, and firing at either Kai or Hari wouldn't provoke him to save them, especially if the bullet wasn't lethal. So the only choice Shin had… was to turn the gun on Eri.

'Those were his true feelings…!' he concluded through his thoughts, pulling the trigger and firing. Seeing the shot, the Permeation Quirk user immediately rushed out. The way the horned girl braced herself was like she knew what was coming. She had experienced and endured all sorts of pain before.

'I'm not going to let you down again!' Mirio inwardly proclaimed, reaching out to Eri. She peeked her eyes open to see the kind smile upon his face. At that moment, the bullet struck.

"You're sick in the head…" Overhaul muttered, seeing the U.A. senior topple over onto his hands and knees, feeling the bullet's effects spread through his body. He trembled as Eri and Pino looked over him, both with tears in their eyes.

"Mister…" the little android uttered out, realizing what he had just sacrificed to protect them. The Shie Hassaikai leader mocked him, saying that because he had a Quirk, he was allowed to have his dreams of being a hero. And thanks to the power of the girl he was trying to save, his efforts had seemingly gone to waste.

"YOU'RE POWERLESS!" he proclaimed, palming his hand against the ground to reassemble it. Before he could though, an unconscious Hari was tossed his way, causing him to reflexively block and then shove him aside. What followed was Mirio slamming his left fist against his arm. Even without his power, he was still going to fight, in order to make sure that it wasn't all for nothing.

"I'M STILL LEMILLION!" he roared. It was unbelievable how he was still fighting. Under the weight of his past choices, becoming Quirkless in an instant, and even up against multiple foes, he still fought. Those shackles weren't holding him down.

'What… What is he?!' Shin wondered through his thoughts. For the next few minutes, Mirio endured Kai's attacks, all while protecting Eri and Pino. Even as his body endured wounds, he kept on fighting for their safety. He wasn't going to let either of them down. He was going to be their hero.

"Huh… huh…" Overhaul breathed out, "You're… infected, Lemillion…" he grumbled, "But I'll fix you…" he vowed, "I'll fix you all with Eri's power!" he declared on, "Every last one of you!" he added angrily. Bleeding and broken, Mirio stood tall, thinking of what the people he cared for most would want of him. He would still fight.

"CHISAKIIIIII!" he bellowed.

"I thought I told you that's not my name anymore!" the Shie Hassaikai leader shouted back. Just then, the walls burst open. Emerging from one were Tamaki and Holy. And from the other came Izuku, Rebecca, and Kris. The real battle was only beginning…

Opens with Rebecca as a little girl waking up in the morning at the orphanage she grew up in. She plays with the other orphans as Witch watches on, smiling all the while. Growing up, Rebecca is a big help around the orphanage, learning to cook with Witch, organize, and even clean.

At one point, a cat is adopted by the orphanage, being none other than Happy. Rebecca is the one to take care of it the most, feeding him every so often and sleeping with him. She goes out on a walk with him and Witch one day, heading to a local park. There, she sees Izuku lying on the ground after having to deal with Katsuki and the other bullies.

From then on, he and Rebecca become friends, growing up together. They even go out to get hero trading cards one day, coming across the rare All Might card in their respective packs. Throughout their school days from kindergarten to elementary to junior high, Izuku and Rebecca stay great friends.

One night during a school dance, Izuku sits dejectedly as everyone else is dancing together in pairs. Rebecca approaches him, wearing a lovely green dress. She offers her hand to Izuku, who graciously accepts it as his face scrunches up. They dance together, all while Katsuki watches on from the corner with a look of annoyance on his face.

The years go by, up to the end of middle school. The day arrives that Izuku and Rebecca get to U.A. High, entering alongside each other. We see flashes of everything they've gone through: the Quirk tests, the battle training, the USJ incident, the Sports Festival, the internships, the final exams, the forest camp attack, the incident in Camino Ward, the provisional licensing exam, and Izuku and Katsuki's fight afterwards.

From there, we see the couple dressed in their hero costumes, looking out to the horizon as they're joined by their classmates, prepared to face whatever lies ahead. Izuku looks to Rebecca and smiles, taking her hand into his own and holding onto it firmly. Neither of them are ever going to lose hope in each other.
