The Sun Riders Return
Out in space, the flying red colossal squid is being pursued by Super Robot which it fires its Torso Cannon at it.
"Nothing attack Shuggazoom city and gets away with it." Chiro said while they chase it. "Not even this…"
"Uh, octo-critter?" Otto guessed.
"Yes, Otto. It does seem to be derived from some sort of mollusk invertebrate." Gibson said.
The colossal space squid spews its ink cloud at the Robot as its covered with it.
"Nugh, it spits acid. Story of my life." Sparx exclaimed.
While the Hyper Force chases after it, the flying squid is headed to the planet near them.
"Curious, that creature attempting to reach the primordial planet, Delta 5." Antauri noted.
"I wonder why would that flying mollusk be going there?" Tyran pondered.
"Who cares? Let's trash it already!" Nova said, wanting to get this over with it.
They continued chasing it until the Robot grabs the space squid by its tentacles.
"Got it! Twirl' it-n-Hurl' it!" Chiro shouted as the Robot swing the giant space squid around before tossing it to one of the volcanos and dumped in the lava, with ink cloud smoking.
"We got to get one of these monster cookers from back home." Sparx joked.
"Wait, I'm picking up a distress beacon." Antauri said, detecting a signal. "There's an inhabited outpost not far from our location."
"And I can't even tell who sent the beacon from that location either." Tyran said, trying to identify who sent the signal as they head to the outpost location.
"Who would live on this burned-out piece of rock?" Sparx wondered.
As they left, the familiar tentacle crawls out, meaning it survived from the volcano.
The Hyper Force arrived at the outpost and standing in front of the entrance.
"I don't know, team. It looks abandon." Chiro said.
"I'm picking up movement." Gibson said, looking at his scanner.
The door to the outpost opened and revealing…a Nebutron 7?
"Wait, isn't that…?" Tyran said, recognized the vehicle until he sees somebody who looks familiar is behind the wheel. "Oh no, not them again."
"The Sun Riders." Chiro glared at his former favorite TV stars.
"Hold it right there, Hyper Force!" Johnny Sunspot shouted as the laser cannons pointed at them while Chiro gritted his teeth that they had to fight them again, especially he hadn't forgotten what they did the last time.

While exploring the outskirts of the city, I discovered an abandoned Super Robot. It was then my life was transformed by the mysterious Power Primate. The Robot Monkeys and a Cyborg were awakened and I, Chiro, became their leader. Our quest: save Shuggazoom City from the evils of the Skeleton King.

The Hyper Force armed their weapons, readied to take down the Sun Riders.
"Surrender, Sun Riders!" Chiro demanded them until the Nebutron 7 lowers down.
"That was easy." Otto said.
"Too easy, Otto." Tyran interjected while looking of them.
"Yeah, if it looks like a trap and it feels like a trap." Sparx said as The Sun Riders jumped out of Nebutron 7 and readied their weapons at them.
"Give up and we'll go easy on you!" Chiro exclaimed.
"We're not giving up anything." Johnny Sunspot retorted.
"You got us all wrong, Chiro." Aurora Six said.
"I don't think so, you're the bad guy." Chiro said, "It was a distress call."
"We know, Chiro-san. We sent it." Super Quasar admitted.
"Wait, you sent a signal to us?" Tyran inquired.
"Mm." He nodded before looking at the inhabitants, who hid.
"Don't worry, you're safe now!" The boy said, pressed his head against Johnny Sunspot's head. "We'll protect you from them!"
"That's swell, monkey team but we're not the problem." He said before the Formless minions pops out of ground behind the Hyper Force. "They are!"
"Formless! It is a trap!" Nova exclaimed.
The Formless starts blasting them and Chiro, Tyran, Antauri, and Sparx jumped up but Gibson, Otto, and Nova were hit by a blast.
"Chiro Spearo!" Chiro threw his lightning spear at Formless arm but it grew its limb back. "Whoa!"
Antauri sliced its arm but it grew it new arm and blast him.
"Oh!" He moaned.
Tyran cuts them down in half with axe but they regenerated itself and blasted him.
Sparx zaps the Formless, obliterating it but it generates and blast him down.
Chiro was fighting two Formless minions while holding his arm up in defense as they tried slashing him. The Sun Riders fires at the Formless, surprising Chiro.
"Cover fire!" Johnny Sunspot yelled as the worker fires the cannon at the Formless but missed when it makes hole on the ground, allowing them to escape in the hole.
"You have a tracer in one of those squirt guns of yours?" Aurora Six asked Gibson.
"Affirmative." He said, shooting the tracker chip on it back before it escaped.
The leader of the outpost comes out of the colony.
"Light above darkness…forever!" He shouted as the colony cheered.
"I thought they were the bad guys." Otto said, confused.
"They are." Chiro said, grimly while looking at Tyran and the robot monkey who were injured in the fight.
Few hours later, Chiro and the robot monkeys takes the injured to the med lab for repairs. Sparx has his head plugged in with IV while Gibson is monitoring, Otto reattached Antauri's arm while he is resting, and Tyran has his face covered in towel while being hooked with the heart monitor and IV machine.
While they're recovering, Chiro spoke to the leader of the colony through the monitor video.
"And so, the Sun Riders have been our guardian since they crashed here." He explained. "Imagine our surprise when our TV heroes turned out to be real. It's not the first time they've saved us from those Formless."
Chiro scowled at them while thinking about the time he met his favorite TV stars for the first time.
(Flashback)
The Sun Riders was chased by a horde of Formless.
"The first time we met the Sun Riders, they were fighting the Formless too."
Johnny Sunspot blast his Black Hole Blackout at two formless which made them disappeared, Aurora Six shoots the two formless with her Sun Gun, and Super Quasar turns his cycle around and blast the TV monster with his Solar Helmet power.
"They act like good guys, that's all that is; act."
Chiro bowed and looked up to see Johnny Sunspot comes in flying kick and evade his attack before Aurora Six jumps in for drop kick and Super Quasar's double punch and somersaults back.
"They show their real colors when you at least expected."
Johnny Sunspots pulls the lever in his controller, causing the sweater that Chiro wore shocked him and the Sun Riders laughed, evilly, revealing they were working with Skeleton King.
(Flashback ends)
"Even with the Sun Riders as our protectors, you're not safe." He said.
"It's not like this lava ball is a hot vacation spot, it's just hot." Chiro said with grimaces look. "Why stay?"
"We're a mining colony, this planet is our livelihood." The leader showed him the storage full of diamonds.
"Volcanic diamonds, natural quantum batteries capable of storing vast quantities of energy." Gibson observed while fixing Nova's brain stem.
"The diamonds power the Nebutron's atomic generators." Super Quasar said.
"And our weapons." Aurora Six added.
"Sure, now I get it." Chiro assumed. "That's why you heroes are guarding the colony…for the diamonds! Have you told these people you work for Skeleton King?" He recalled that they work with Skeleton King for power and their price for disobeying his order. "He gave power too."
"Is this true?" He inquired.
"We changed." Aurora Six said, honestly.
"We could use some help." Super Quasar said.
"We don't need them." Johnny Sunspot protested.
Chiro ended the call. "Good, I'm not gonna give you phonies another chance to betray us again!" He grumbled until Antauri grabbed his hand.
"Chiro, there are many innocents in that colony." He said, "Sometimes we must put the past behind us for the good of others."
"All right." He sighed, having no choice but to help them.
"Chiro." Chiro turned to see Tyran, who have the towel on his face. "Watch your back, even though they were once your favorite TV stars."
He nodded at the cyborg before leaving to help the Sun Riders.
A few minutes later, Chiro meets up with the Sun Riders.
"If you're gonna go after those Formless, you're gonna need this." He said, showing them Gibson's scanner. "It's linked to Gibson's tracer. Maybe I better come along to operate it. "
"Welcome aboard, Chiro-san!" Super Quasar welcomed him.
They get on their battle vehicles.
"So, upgraded the Nebutron 7, huh?" Chiro asked.
"This is Nebutron 8; bigger, better." Aurora Six replied.
"And modified for mining operation." Super Quasar added.
"Atomic generation to power!" Johnny Sunspot activated the Nebutron 8 power. "Turbine drills activated."
The Nebutron 8 drills to underground to find the Formless as the group watches the monitor.
"Closing on Formless central." Chiro cautioned them.
"Yes, but avoiding these active lava tubes may be tricky." She said.
"Great, we've got Mr. I'm a has been child actor piloting us." He mentioned Johnny Sunspot.
"Like you can do better, Mr. I travel with chimps and cyborg!" He snapped.
They reached the tunnel and jumped out of Nebutron 8.
"We'll track them down on foot from here." Chiro said, looking at the scanner before Johnny walks over to him.
"Lemme see that thing." He took it but Chiro tried takes it back.
"Back off, Sunspot or I'll punch your lights out!" Chiro retorted, taking his scanner back.
"You and what monkey army?!" Johnny said.
They grunted over the scanner as Super Quasar and Aurora Six saw something coming.
"You boys want to fight? Get ready!" She declared.
The Formless minions fired at the intruders.
"Chiro Spearo!" Chiro threw his lightning spear at them, destroying one but more of them is coming.
"Sun Gun Dazzle Stun!" Aurora Six blast her gun at the Formless, destroying it,
"Yosh, Solar Helmet Hot Shot!" Super Quasar shoot his helmet power at Formless, obliterating it.
"Black Hole Barrage!" Johnny Sunspot throws his miniature black hole at two Formless, making them vanished but not before it blasted at Super Quasar, knocking him over.
"Daugh!" He yelped, accidentally blast the surface beneath them, causing it to collapsed and they fell to deeper ground.
Chiro is stuck in the debris and looked up to see the Nebutron 8 is starting to fall on him. Trying to get away, Chiro tried to move the debris until the generated black hole sucked the debris in, freeing Chiro who jumped away before the Nebutron 8 crushes him.
"Uh, thanks." Chiro thanked him.
"You might start thinking I'm one of the good guys?" Johnny remarked.
"Right." He gets up and lead the way. "Come on, let's find the Formless lair and destroy it."
"Chiro, take this Solar Shield." She gave Chiro a small device. "It will provide you with insulation and camouflage." She puts it on Chiro. "Here, let me. I promise it will not electrocute you." When she finished it, it activated its stealth on Chiro as they did.
Johnny cloaked their vehicle, hidden before they moved on to their destination.
Meanwhile in the Super Robot, The monkey team is fully recovered as Gibson is checking Antauri's brain damage.
"Excellent work, Otto." Gibson said, removing the plug from Antauri's head. "Judging by appearances, your repairs have functioning at full capacity."
"You're all set, Tyran." Otto told him as Tyran reached his mask and took off the towel from his face and putting the mask back on.
"Finally." He said, getting up.
"Thanks." Nova said.
"There's no time to waste, we must aid Chiro and the Sun Riders." Antauri declared but the alarm went off.
"Uh, Chiro is gonna have to wait." Sparx said as the monitor showed the colossal space squid is coming at them in ramming speed.
"Didn't we beat that thing already?" Tyran asked.
Before they say anything, the space mollusk rammed against the Robot, knocking it against the wall.
"Maybe Chiro could help us." Otto said.
"No time, monkeys, mobilize!" Antauri declared.
Back with Chiro's group, They reached the Formless lair and saw the Formless carrying the bag by the lava pit. They sneak past them and peeked behind the rocks to see the pile of eggs.
"Something tells me we're in the right place." Johnny Sunspot said.
"Yeah, at the wrong time." Chiro added.
One of the eggs hatched into a baby space squid and it dived in the lava as if they thrived with heat as more eggs hatched.
"What are those creatures?" Super Quasar asked.
"Big trouble." He answered when the screech was heard as Johnny Sunspot is cringing and turning old as the others did like last time while the Formless stops and looked up. That could only mean one thing…
"What is it?" Chiro asked, confusedly before looking up to see Skeleton King is here on the skull wyvern as they landed inside the volcano.
Chiro and the Sun Riders took cover from the Skeleton King as they land by the lava pit and he walks to the pit.
"It is time." He said as the Formless pours all the diamonds that they stole in the lava pits where the baby space squid resides as they feed on it, causing them to grow. "Soon, you will swarm the skies of Shuggazoom city and rain your tentacle terror of all who oppose me!" He declared before laughed, evilly while the group watches them.
"Skeleton King is breeding an army." Chiro realized.
"Continue, there is toil for me elsewhere." He ordered them before leaving with skull wyvern. As the skull wyvern flies up, Skeleton King begin to senses something. "Huh?" He sees Chiro and the Sun Riders through their cloaking mode and flashed his eyes, causing their stealth cloak to deactivated. The Formless and the baby space squid spotted the intruders as Skeleton King cackled while they left.
Chiro looked at the Sun Riders, who were back to their younger self.
Suddenly, the baby space squid grabbed Johnny Sunspot from their hiding spot.
"WAGH!" He yelped as the mollusk creature held him high.
"Thunder Punch!" Chiro jumps and punch the space squid's face, making it let go of him.
"Nice punch." Johnny said.
"I owed you." He said.
They took cover to escape as the Formless is shooting at them while they escape.
"That tunnel is our only chance!" Chiro pointed at the tunnel over the crater. "Sun Riders, go!"
The group jump off the ledge and hops over the rocks as Super Quasar looks back at the creatures for a moment before catching up to others.
The Formless minions jumps out of lava, blocking Chiro and Super Quasar way.
"HHURRAAHH!" Super Quasar threw Chiro over them before blasting them while jumping over.
Chiro looked back while Aurora Six covers him before shooting another one behind her, surprising Chiro who dashed away from.
"Wah!" Johnny yelped while getting blasted by Formless before Chito kicked it away.
They heard a yell, coming from Aurora Six, who was grabbed by a space squid. Super Quasar tried saving her by shooting his Solar Helmet Hot Shot at the space mollusk but it is ineffective against it.
"Aurora!" Johnny yelled.
"Thunder Kick!" Chiro dropkicked the space squid, making it let go Aurora Six and kicked it away. He is soon blasted from both sides, shotted by more Formless minions. "Ready for round two, Sun Riders?"
Much to his shock, The Sun Riders ran off to the tunnel, leaving Chiro with the space squid and Formless by himself.
"JOHNNY!" He shouted at them as they ran off.
Thinking that they abandon him, Chiro started punching more Formless until the space squid grabbed him, restraining him from moving as they're closing in on him.
The eggs is hatching more baby space squids while Chiro is struggling to get out of its hold and activate his commlink.
"Monkey team, I need back up!" Chiro said, contacting them. "Monkey team."
Back with the others, The colossal space squid pinned the Super Robot to the wall.
"We're a bit tied-up, Chiro!" Tyran responded while trying to pilot the Robot.
The Super Robot shot it with its Eye Beam, but it only angered the space mollusk and lifted up in the air.
"Chiro, we're under attack!" Antauri responded. "You and the Sun Riders are on your own!"
"Sun Riders? Yeah, they're a big help." Chiro grumbled. "Monkey Fu!"
He unleashed his power primate pulse, breaking free from the space squid's grasp as they were taken back by his surprise.
"Huh?" He gasped as the Formless minions is shooting him, knocking him back.
Chiro looked up to see the Formless minions, who charging up for full blast to finish him off.
"NOOOOHH…!" He yelled until he felt a rumble as the Formless did.
Suddenly, the Nebutron 8 burst out of the wall and drilling its way to Chiro while destroying the Formless until it stopped near Chiro.
The Sun Riders opens the cockpit and jumped out to help him.
"Hey, real heroes always come back." Johnny Sunspot said after Chiro took his hand to help him up.
"It takes all three of us to pilot the Nebutron." Super Quasar said before gasped in shocked when he saw more Formless is firing their energy bomb at them.
"We got this one." Johnny Sunspot said before they joined hands while Chiro is in the middle.
"Super Solar Strike!" They unleashed their energy wave, knocking them all away before the Sun Riders and Chiro hops back in the Nebutron 8.
"Yosh, ikimashou! Time to go!" Super Quasar declared while Johnny starting up the Nebutron.
"What about them?" Chiro asked, looking back at the Formless and space squid.
"Too many for now." Johnny Sunspot replied. "Come on!"
They closed the cockpit and the space squid is closing in to attack the Nebutron 8 when it stands up on two legs, it blasted off up to the crater.
The Super Robot is getting pummeled by a giant space squid before being lifted up again.
"Power is failing!" Otto exclaimed as his cockpit is short-circuited.
"Temperature level is critical! We're overheating!" Nova exclaimed while getting the systems to cool down.
"Rerouting twenty-eight percent power to the cooling system!" Tyran said, routing the minimal power to the cooling system. "At this rate, that colossal space squid is gonna fry us for good."
"We gotta a way to beat this thing! Just keep cool!" Sparx said.
"Perhaps you're right, Sparx." Antauri said, catch on his idea. "This creature thrives in extreme heat, so let's cool it off."
"Brilliant idea! Reversing ocular polarity!" Gibson said, switching the Eye Beam controls.
The Super Robot turn its head around and shoots its Freeze Ray at its tentacles, freezing them and shattered them. Screeching in pain, the colossal space squid spews its acid ink cloud, damaging the Robot's Freeze Ray.
"We lost our Freeze Ray!" Otto said,
"Worst, we don't have enough to defend ourself!" Tyran added.
"We're squid bait." Sparx said.
Super Robot rubbed its optics to see but the colossal space squid smacks it away to the ground until something shot at it before it can finish them off.
It was Nebutron 8, flying in ramming speed and lodged in its beak.
"We're out of here!" Johnny said.
"Better have a seat." Aurora Six said, grabbing Chiro to her lap before she and the others ejected from the Nebutron 8.
"Antauri, we gotta get that squid back into the volcano!" Chiro said, speaking through his commlink.
"Chiro, we attempted that before." He argued.
"It's Johnny's idea, I trust him."
"Rerouting all remaining power to the hydraulic converters." Antauri said, routing the remaining power to the Robot's arm.
"It may not be enough." Gibson issued while the Robot grabbed its tentacles.
"Then we better make it count." Tyran said as the Robot swings around until hurling it to the volcano before it ran out of power.
The colossal space squid is tossed to the volcano with the Nebutron 8 stuck in its beak and landed in the lava pit with the baby space squid.
The monkey team and Tyran comes out of the hatch and joined the Chiro and the Sun Riders. They look at the volcano when the baby squids and large tentacles almost made it out of the crater.
"It just made it angry." Sparx gritted before looking at the Sun Riders. "That was your big plan?"
"No, this is my big plan." Johnny Sunspot said, holding out the detonator and pressed the button.
The Nebutron 8 that stuck in colossal space squid's beak blows up, destroying the big one, along with all of the baby space squids, leaving the monkey team speechless when the volcano exploded.
"So, this is your big idea." Tyran said.
"You sacrificed your ship!" Antauri exclaimed.
"For the good of others." Chiro said.
"Light…!" Aurora Six began.
"Above darkness…!" Super Quasar said.
"Forever…!" Johnny Sunspot said.
"Sun Riders, fight on!" Chiro and Sun Riders finished.
Everyone in the outpost cheered at the Sun Riders and Hyper Force for their heroic deeds.
A few minutes later, the mine workers gathered outside to congratulate them.
"To show our appreciation, we'd like to share our bounty with you." The leader presented them their big diamond.
"Thank you, these will increase the Super Robot's power drive." Gibson said, holding a diamond.
The leader stared at them as the blue monkey is hooting over the big diamond while Chiro, Tyran, and the Sun Riders watched.
"I think I'm done with this." Chiro said, holding out the solar shield.
"Keep it." Aurora Six said.
"Who knows, we might work together again someday." Johnny Sunspot said.
Chiro smiled that they do change their way after their first encounters.
"Chiro-san!" Super Quasar laughed, heartily.
Tyran approached him and holding out his hand.
"I just wanted to say thanks." He said. "You and your team have changed after our last encounter."
"Hai, and I see that you have spoken the first time we heard." Super Quasar said, took his hand and shake it.
"It's a long story." Tyran said. "And I hope that that you will keep up the good fight."
"We will and we thank all of you." Aurora Six said.
"Hmm." The cyborg nodded.
As the dawn hits the horizon, The Sun Riders decided to stay on the planet to protect the people in the outpost for mining and the Hyper Force heads back to the Super Robot and powers it up with the big diamond for fuel before they blast off to space, heading back home.
